Fill color also creates unwanted border

Hi,
I am using a conditional statement that adds fill color to a check box and a subform field when the check box is checked. The color fills in properly (and upon de-selection, it disappears) as it is supposed to, but on some fields, there is also appearing an unwanted border around the check box. Not only does the border appear, but it fails to disappear upon de-selection.
So, my response is, Say What?! Hoping someone can let me know what is going on and how to get rid of the border.
Here's the exact code I have applied to one of the check boxes and which is creating a border as well.
if (TakeTAKSAcc.rawValue==1){TAKSAccSubjects.presence="visible",this.fillColor="238,238,238" ;}else{TAKSAccSubjects.presence="hidden",this.fillColor="255,255,255";}
~Jenny

I don't know about checkboxes, but I had the same thing happening with rectangle drawobjects, and I got around it by setting the colour of the border to the same as the fill colour.

    Stop responding is different from a crash.  A crash would generate some info in the Event Logs.
    A hang is more difficult to diagnose.  If I were experiencing the same problem, I would try to use Process Monitor; it could give me some info what exactly hangs (or what it is waiting for).  But it may generate ten thousands of lines to analyze.

    You mean you want to create a shorcut to a website on your home screen?  If so, go to the site you want to create it for in Safari, tap the share button on the top left (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Add to Home Screen.  Taping this icon in the future will launch Safari and take you to this site.
    Not sure what you mean by home page for iCloud, but you can't go to icloud.com from your iPad if that's what you want to do.  You have to go there from your computer browser.

  • How do I auto set stroke weight, stroke colors & fill color?

    Hi,
    I'd like to make it easier for our 100,000 designers to use AI to make custom products using a laser cutter.
    Current Practice
    Designers open our AI laser cutting design templates, add their designs using the AI settings our online pricing system can read, then upload their designs to our website for instant pricing, making and shipping.
    The Problem
    Designers have to manually setup AI with settings that can be read by our online pricing system. If they get these settings wrong, our system can not read their designs. So they are rejected and can not be priced or made. This happens more often that you'd imagine.
    The Solution
    Designers do not like design rejections. So I'd like to eradicate them by providing our designers with a version of AI that provides the following settings only:
    * Set document to RGB
    * Stroke weight = 0.01mm
    * Stroke colors = RGB 0, 0, 255 and 255, 0, 0
    * Fill color = RGB 0, 0, 0
    This will mean designers have a very limited number of AI choices, with nothing to distract them or to get wrong. Which will result in less (or zero?) design rejections. And products made faster than before. Rejoice!
    Question
    How do we program our AI laser cutting design templates so that when they are opened in AI, they auto set AI settings as defined above?
    Thanks so much.
    Derek

    Your first point - yes, that's what our system does currently. As a result designers get lots of 'how to fix' messages as a result of design rejections. We wish to reduce these rejections and resulting 'how to fix' messages by limiting their choices in AI - because this is where the problems are created.
    Ok, yeah gotcha, so customers/designers think they do it right (cough/laugh) upload, then get surprised to find out they didn't by your upload system. That's kind of what I thought. I feel your pain. ;-) I sense you want to reduce this aspect to keep the customers/designers happy and thinking they do nothing but work magic all day right? ;-) So you don't want to lose customers in the midst of frustration of file rejection thinking there files are right and your system is certainly wrong, when in fact it's the opposite. Good luck explaining that to a designer however, right? ;-)
    Ponoko wrote:
    Your second point - You go on to talk about using a complex "action" we could distribute within the design templates. Although I suspect this is different, the path we're thinking is to include something in the templates that, when imported into AI, sets AI with the color palette we need, line weight we need. Possible?
    As Monika hinted at you can't rigidly restrict or control what a user is allowed to do and use in Illustrator. You can try to reduce the parameters by saving the file as a Template.ait file, but even then they can muck about all day until they mess things up again, plus you have no control whatsoever even then as to whether they use fills, the stroke weights, etc. That is why I mentioned various things to manipulate the file once they deem it completed and ready to submit/upload. Basically a method to fix what they messed up or did incorrectly and instead set things as they should be for submission as I previously mentioned. I mentioned you may be able to create a complex Illustrator "action" action.aia that they run to process these requirements. I am not sure if such an action could be accomplished as all inclusive (perhaps though) otherwise you could as stated do it through scripting and a script they run: script.jsx to prepare the requirements, or an actual standalone helper app you create and provide like I mentioned above as well.
    I see for CorelDRAW & Inkscape you require SVG, why not change that for Illustrator also so all your 2D app submissions are SVG based? Then manipulate the SVG server side, point out the changes and why and have the customer approve the new modified SVG Preview of the needed changes and move along with the process from there? Make all the requirement changes on the server by manipulating the SVG. You should have access to all of the requirements: RGB color model, stroke weight, stroke colors, fill colors, create font outlines, image tracing? I am just tossing out ideas here, get your programmers busy, tell them to stop playing video games and "make it so". ;-)
    But even so, this then begs the question: What are you doing to circumvent the same issues for inept CorelDraw and Inkscape users?
    Since, they have the same freedom to do things incorrectly and misaligned with the requirements, just as Illustrator users do.
    Regardless though of the approach customers/designers may not like seeing certain things changed even minutely in trivial amounts and thusly be just as upset or up in arms with the changes to their pretty design files that they think were not needed in the first place, how dare you undermine them ;-). Same as seeing the file rejection from your system upon upload. Again I feel your pain. You have your Application/File requirements requirements stated nicely and plainly, it should be pretty easy for most, but sadly I guess not.

  • Opening Marker text in whatever way also creates marker

    Hi everybody!
    I've been experiencing what I hesitantly call a bug: whenever I tell Logic to *Open Marker Text* via any keycommand (already tried several different ones), Logic also *creates a new marker* at whatever position the playhead is at. I tried reassigning keys, but didn't work, I deassigned all "markercreation" keycommands to no avail. Even mousing the menu command creates a new marker...?
    How's this behaviour with any of you? Is it just my project, or a newly discovered bug? (haven't tried a fresh project yet, will do so soon, but I sort of expect the same behaviour). (edit: ...and indeed it does)
    btw, I can understand this happening when there are no markers yet in the project. It seems the only reasonable workaround is with creating a *marker text window* screenset.
    Thanks to anyone for checking/trying/reporting back.
    regards, Erik.

    Yes, I know how to edit markers in the list, or in the global track. That's not the trouble.
    I want to just display Lyrics I created earlier with the list, without:
    an unwanted automatically created marker obscuring the "first page" of my meticulously chosen Font, style, size and background color with the ugly default 12pt font saying "marker##".
    With a workaround I meant a way of opening the Marker TEXT window without a new marker being automatically created. It seems a screenset is the only option.

  • Creating a border around a image

    I am trying to creat a bborder around our company logo so it can be put on a transparent sticker. I currently have the logo on a white background

    OK.. so this is going to be a bit tricky.
    Here is what I did to add a border to your logo:
    First, I added the half inch border to your canvas like I did in my past post...
    Then, select the white color, like my first post, and delete it.
    Then, go back to select color range, and sample all of the colors in the logo to select the whole logo.
    Then, expand the selection by however many pixel you'd like:
    Then, fill the selection with white, or whatever color you want the border to be:
    Hope this helps,
    Julia

  • Why do filler colors change when the orientation changes?

    Hi, I'm working with a template but don't like the colors of the fill boxes, so I have manually changed them.  I've noticed, however, at least when look at a proof that when I change the orientation of the iPad, the filler color reverts to the original.  The color change screws with the styles.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any fixes?

    Thanks for your reply.  I was fuzting with the "book" again.  It was the simplest -- and therefore easiest to modify stylistically -- template, which was supposed to work in both orientations.  I created it in landscape.  Last night I reallized that when I changed the orientation when working in iBook, if I applied the color change to the boxes [again], the color change stayed when viewed in either orientation.
    BUT I also saw that the box placement in the portrait view is "wrong."  It covers part of one of the headlines.  While I have changed the headline font manually [not via paragraph styles, which I am finding difficult to manipulate], I have not moved the text.  It is where the template placed it but simply using a different font.
    Thanks for any insight you might have.

  • How can i fill color Recent panel of colorchooser

    hi all,
    i want to set a color for recent panel of color chooser,
    if i set color for the color chooser
    colorChooser.setColor(Color.Red)it set color for the preview panel that's it, i want to fill in recent panel also,
    any suggestion?
    thanks
    daya

    It looks like it's hard to do easily, because DefaultSwatchChooserPanel (used by JColorChooser) is a private class.
    So I copied its code into MyChooserPanel and modified it a little bit, now ColorChooser class has additional method
    setRecentColors(Color[] c);
    I deleted all Sun comments to make it shorter (probably you need to leave them if you want to use the class legally, I'm not sure).
    This is a fast and ugly solution :(
    also setRecentColors() should be called by Swing dispatcher thread

  • Three Numbers questions:how do you change the auto default background or fill color from white to another color to use in multiple succeeding operations?  what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percent?

    Numbers questioons:
    -how do I change the automatic default background fill color so it stays a non white color?
    -what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percentage?
    -how do I create a signal formula to be sue against an entire column of data (for example, if I wanted to multiply the each cell in the column by the number 10)?
    -I have created a spreadsheet in Numbers with header and rows labelled and it contains formulas as well.  I now want to create a new 'blank' of this template with same header and row names and formulas, but without the cell entries from my earlier exerciser so I can use again in the future. How do I do this?

    Hi Matt,
    For short columns, the easiest method is to select the cell containing the formula, then grab the fill handle (small circle at the botom right of the selected cell) and drag down.
    For long columns, use either Jerry's suggestion (copy/paste) or Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Copy/Paste:
    Select the cell containing the formula. Copy
    Select from the cell containing teh formula to the end of the column. Paste.
    Fill Down:
    After entering the formula, and pressing enter...
    Click on the column reference tab to select the whole column.
    Command click on each cell above the one containing the formula to remove it from the selection.
    When cell with the formula is the top cell in the selection, go Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Pick whichever is easiest.

  • Changing the button fill color in Captivate 7?

    I am pretty sure that when I used Captivate 6 and I created a button, there was an option in the Properties pane to allow me to change the fill color of the button. I am using Captivate 7 now, and I no longer see this option. Under the "General" tab, it allows me to change the button type, caption, make it transparent, or allows me to see button widgets. Did they remove the ability to simply change the fill color of a button?

    I'm wondering if this is something that was maybe added in a service release. Either that or you may need to reset your preferences.
    Mine has a section titled Fill & Stroke as shown below.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Changing the text color of a titled border

    Hello everyone,
    I have an applet that I have created. The background color of the applet is black. My jpanels have titled borders. I cannout figure out how to change the color of the titled border text to a different color other than black. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?
    Dave

    Hi,
    Not exactly sure what you are putting a border around, but here is one example of using a border and changing the color and the placement of the title. In this instance editor is a JTextPane:
    TitledBorder tb = new TitledBorder("Title");
    tb.setTitleColor(new Color(128,0,0));
    tb.setTitleJustification(TitledBorder.LEFT);
    editor.setBorder(tb);

  • How to create a border for a paragraph ?

    Can anyone tell me how to create a border for a paragraph ? Is this even possible without creating a table ?
    I would like to have the page header with a single line below it and the page footer with a single line above it. Inserting a line seems to force unnecessary space above of below the line and using a table seems to force a blank line below the table also creating unnecessary space.
    Thanks

    Thanks, I had the problem with this approach that the line never appeared on each page but adding to the section master would fix it.
    Still being able to set a border would be good! I did try using the text box but the border options are pretty inflexible. I was unable to just set the top or bottom borders. Did I miss something basic here or is this option just not available ?
    Any idea if this is coming in a future release ?

  • How to get gradient fill color in Illustrator

    I have button drawing for web in Adobe Illustrator format. I'm trying to get fill settings to create the same look with CSS. I can't find what color to use and gradient settings.

    Eugene,
    In the Window dropdown list (in the row at the very top starting with File), can you tick Gradient, and if so, what happens?

  • ProDAD Mercalli w/ CS5 Clip desaturation with 'auto-fill colors'

    Issue with proDAD Mercalli w/ CS5
    W7x64 w/latest patches of everything
    When selecting ‘Border Handling’, ‘Auto-fill colors’, the clip is desaturated.  Allowing a black border and the saturation returns to normal.  Simple option toggle, 100% repeatable.
    Settings:
    Glide Camera
    HDV clip
    HDV sequence
    Roll, Horiz and Tilt 50%
    No rolling-shutter
    No Avoid Border
    Border Handling=Best Stabilization
    Any ideas?

    using v2/latest rev
    usually works.  this is one of the few times i needed 'best' settings.
