Filter Criteria in Value Help for InfoObject

Hi,
Is it possible to remove the value from Filter Criteria. When I use F4 for a Field (in Screen) , its showing a poup window (Value Help for Info Object) with some personal values. When I click "More Values" option its showing the General Value List, where I can see the Filter Criteria. When I click "Show Filter Criteria", its showing the Criteria with a Value (This value is coming from the field(Screen) from where I am coming). is it possible to avoid of passing value from my screen field to Filter Criteria ?

Implementation of F4 value help for a search field which is an EEWB field

I am trying to create a F4 value help for a search field which is an eewb field.The f4 value help jus need to be a pop up containing the values of the field existing in the system.Since this is a search field the GET_V method cannot be used. I tried implementing it by creating a search help and then using it in the GET_DQUERY_VALUEHELPS method.But the problem when u use the search help is that all the values including the null values and duplicate entries will be populated when f4 is clicked.Is there any way to filter the values that get populated when f4 is clicked?If any other method can be used to implement the functionality please let me know..Thanks in advance....

the GET_V methods worked for me most of the time. Even in advanced searchs. Only time they do not is if there is a different aproach considered in the GET_DQUERY_VALUEHELPS.
As the GET_V_ you created obviously was called I suppose you found the correct place to Populate it to be used in the search.
I do not know what the problem with the NULL values and duplicate entries is you talked about, but it sounds to me the creation of your valuehelp class is flawed. Not the integration into the UI.
Maybe have a look at SAPs' standard implementations of Search Components. You should get a feeling for how search helps work. See. BT111S_OPPT, BP_HEAD_SEARCH

Dynamic value help for a table field to fill two fields, how to?

In SRM 7 I defined a dynamic value help for a single field (ZZ_PROLE_R3) of my header custom table.
That's the code from WDDOMODIFYVIEW in the webdynpro /SAPSRM/WDC_DODC_CT, view V_DODC_CT:

The method GET_VALHELP_ZZ_PROLE_R3 dynamically builds the value help table tab_value; such table is made up by two fields:
value : contains the value of the field
text   : contains a description of the value
The above solution works; now I'd like to enhance it. The custom table THCUS contains also a field called ZZ_PROLE_R3_DESC, which represents the description of ZZ_PROLE_R3. It is, exactly, the TEXT field in tab_value.
So I'd like to do as follows:
- the user clicks on the search help for ZZ_PROLE_R3 field of the table;
- the above described value help appears;
- after the selection, both ZZ_PROLE_R3 and ZZ_PROLE_R3_DESC are filled with the selected couple value - text chosen from the value help.
Could anyone help me achieving such a behaviour?
Again, a little request... when I open the above value help dialog box, the window itself has a label "Floorplan Manager application for OIF.." that obviously I'd like to redefine (e.g. "Role selection value help"). Is there any way to do that?

lv_guid is the GUID of the document's header; I need to pass it to the method that populates my value help table because the values in it are derived from some fields on the document. (the situation actually is more complex; there's an RFC call on the backend for which the document is intended for to retrieve the data that populate the value help...).
I'm quite unexperienced on webdynpro and terminology; if dropdown menus are fixed selection option that appears on a field, I guess this is not my case. I did a pair of screenshot to provide an idea of what the solution by now is, and what "I would like to have":

Thanks for the code suggestion, I'll apply that. For what concerns the context node THCUS... It is, by standard, a node which I can't explictly find in the context for the view V_DODC_CT. The problem is that ZZ_PROLE_R3 and the corresponding description field ZZ_PROLE_R3_DESC of the table must be filled with data retrieved dynamically @ runtime from the backend. So I guess I can't populate a val help referring to a dictionary table/field; I'd rather do as follows:
- retrieve what's the target backend for the document (to do so, I have to process the document .. that's why the header guid passed to my method);
- RFC call to a custom method that extracts possible values for the specific backend;
- bind the ammissible values to the value help.

Value help for select options (pass the selected values to the select opt)

I created a custom value help for my select options.
It works fine, when the user clicks on the value help, my own view is displayed, and the user can select the required values:

How to implement Value Help for Product ID?

I have a Z-Component where I want to use the value help of the Product ID. I found several components which use this value help for Products but I can't get it to work in my component properly.
Does anybody have a short tutorial how I need to proceed?

This is one function out of several. I don't have the complete implementation at hand but this will give you the first idea.

Limiting the value help for a user input variable as required

Hello Gurus,
I have a requirement :-
Restrict the value help for a user input variable in a query to only a required set of values instead of the default behaviour. ie instead of having all the values in the master data of that characteristics in the value help.
How do I go about it? - Do I have to explore the precalculated value set feature?
If so, please tell me how to go about it in BI 7.I would appreciate if you could explain it in detail rather than sending me a URL because I have gone through most of them but Iam yet to figure out how to create the broadcast setting and subsequent steps.

I believe if the User doesn't want to see any particular values in F4 help then it means they are not intrested in viewing the transaction data related to those values.
So why don't you restrict that object with the required values. Then the F4 help will automatically display only those values.

Value help for partner

Hi,
I have a scenario in which when I navigate to the activities screen, and in the search criteria select 'Partner Number' and then select its F4 value help, the pop up window that I get is of accounts, rather than that of business partners/person/org/group.
However, if I ignore the enhancement, then this would work fine.
Please let me know the reason and a possible solution for this.
Just to add, I have not enhanced any of the related event handlers of the F4 value help.

Some fields from R/3 have automatic value help for input field on WD

we have imported a Model from RFC/JCo (ABAP) with several fields. One of them is "IWAER" of SimpleType Iwaer and "Built-In-Type" string in J2EE. Though the enumeration of this type is empty, WebDynpro mystically generates a value help if the type is assignet to an ImputField. On the ABAP-side component type is IWAER with data type CUKY and in domain WAERS which has a value table TCURC (instead of fixed values in a value range).
Where/why does WD find out that this is a currency-field and where do the values in the value selector come from?

at least for the ModelData-Connection (BAPI-Call) there is no data being transferred besides one value for each field.
I don't know if the MetaData-Connection of JCo is able to get more information (e.g. key-value-pairs for the domain or type the field belongs to,..) than just the structure of the interface.
-> Where and how do these EVS-values come from without doing something?

PCH: Value help for Object ID

Hi Experts,
I have a question regarding Logical Database PCH.
We know LDB PCH is OM based and we have default "Object ID field " and "Reporting period field " at the selection screen.
I have kept "Reporting period" as "Key date" 31.12.2010. I wanted to select an Org unit from the "Org. Structure Search" at the ""Object ID field " value help . But I can see the "Org. Structure" corresponding to "Today's date" all the time.
For eg: Org unit 1111111 was delimited on 01.01.2011. I wanted to se the Org. structure for 31.12.2010. So I put the key date as 31.12.2010. Since the above org. unit is delimited on 01.01.2011, it was expected to see in the Org. Structure at the "Object ID" value help . But unfortunately, it is not displayed, since the Org. Structure is shown based on Toda's date.
If anybody comes across such a scenario, please provide your inputs .

Value Help for Date inverval in Variable Form in Visual Composer

Hi all,
I have created a variable form which has Date interval with value help as one of the parameters.
when i click on the value help and select any date interval then it is displayed as say '20081015:20090101' but when i submit this value i get an error "INVALID_VARIABLE_VALUES".
this variable is working fine when i manually enter the interval as '10/15/2008:01/01/2009'.
is there any way where we can input the date interval value as '10/15/2008:01/01/2009' using the value help.
any help is highly appreciated.

Value help is considered as a popup iview in visual composer. You can change the fields in popup iview like normal iview. Drill down the popup iview of the value help and change the date format using DSTR function.

Value help for a custom field, ENTER press after selection wanted

Hi all gurus,
my requirement is quite simple; in an SRM 7 system, a value help (control table Z_V_EKORG) is associated to a custom (input) field, ZZ_EKORG.
By pressing the search button on it, some fixed values appears in a list but then, after the selection of a value, no refresh/badi is triggered.
To trigger a refresh (and passage thru CHANGE and CHECK BADIs) the user is forced to press the ENTER key on the inputfield.
I'm wondering if there's a way to automatically set an action/event (e.g. ENTER key pressed after input) to the selection from the list; I guess it should be a property of the selection for that value help, but I cannot find explicit information on how to do that.

Set filter criteria on page 1 for page 2 OData model - "best practice"?

Hello, I have a problem with an app - where I want to filter data on a second page, based on settings from the first page. I use an OData model.
The collections on both pages are not related in terms of "navigation" properties, that is my problem and I can not change the data source...
So I am looking for ideas/best practices to solve this because sometimes my filtering doesn't work... the following problem occurred: Request aborted
I have a page with a sap.m List with items="{/tabWorkPlace}" and and a local JSON model where I store relevant data during the app lifecycle.

I don't write this code into the onInit() or beforeRendering() function, because they are called only once and I am navigating back and forth between the two pages, because the pages are created only once and "just" the data is changed.
The desired page looks like this - with an other collection bound to it:

But despite the fact the Request is aborted, the list on the second page is filtered!
The filter criteria for the model works when I type it into the browser with URL. Maybe this fails because the data binding for the list didn't took place at this phase?
I have this pattern (filter criteria on one page and result on the second page) more times - (and I think a better data model would be better with navigation properties would be better, but I cannot change it)
But at another constellation the filtering doesn't work - same error... the following problem occurred: Request aborted
I also don't want to change the pattern (page 1 to page 2) into popup lists or this fancy new filtering possibilities because it is not suitable for my use case.
Is there maybe a more elegant solution - because sometimes filtering works, sometimes don't..., do I have an error in my solution (general approach)?

Hello, yeah you are right, but it works without the odata> stuff because of this in App.controller.js:

So my question is - how to navigate from one page to another - and on the other page first bind a collection to a select and then when selecting bind certain elements (a textfield) to the selected filtered entity.
The stuff with context and binding won't work, because the two Collections don't have a navigation/association property between them...
So for example:
page1
select a list item with property color: red and year 1985. Press one of the buttons and pass this criteria to another page.
page 2:
show a dropdown box with all car names which fullfill this criteria, and when one car is selected, then display the data for THIS car in several text fields.
This is not a master->detail navigation example, because on page 1 i select certain criterias, and then with buttons I navigate to several pages with those criterias.
But since the OData model has no relationships it is really hard to do it manually... With a dummy mock.json like in DJ Adams Fiori like SAPUI5 apps it is no problem... But with OData and no things related to each other it is hard...

Freely-programmed value help for a single ALV cell

Greetings everyone,
I have a freely-programmed value help that works beautifully when attached to the context element of a single field, but now I'm needing to use it in an ALV for a specific cell. Is there a way to shut off the dropdown for all of the rows (cells) in the column where I don't need it? Or, is there an appropriate workaround that can deliver the same results?
I've found several posts that address similar issues, but nothing for this exact problem.

I take it from reading your description what you want is a little more complicated than just controlling the read-only property on the input field. If I read you properly you still want to have all the cells in a column to be open for input, just on some of them you want to disable the value help. Is that correct? See these screen shots for clarification:

If this is what you want, then buckel up because this was a challenging one. The problem is that the value help specification is not done at the UI element level, but instead at the context attribute level. Therefore it can't be as simple as controlling a property on the inputField itself. What you will need to do is extend the context node that you have bound to the ALV. You need to add a second version of the attribute that is bound to your input field. In this second version you can set the value help specification to Disabled:

Notice from the screen shot that I also added another attirbute called CVAR (type STRING). We will need that later. It will be used to store which cell variant show be used on a particular row.
Now we must go to the place in your code where you fill the context node with data. You will need to copy the data from your primary attribute to your secondary one. In my case I was copying the values from CARRID to CARRID2. Of course for update, you would need to merge the data back together before saving it back to the database. I also set a simple odd/even pattern of controller in the cell variant. I assume you will have some actual business logic that controls this:

Value help for select-option not filling selection field

I'm having some problems with a value help on a select-option. I've managed to get the value help displaying the correct values but for some reason can't get it to populate the selection field after I've selected a record.

The code you have is OK. I copied your code into a test program and it worked as expected.
I used a search help where the possible values are populated in the search help exit, exactly as in your case. The only time it did not work was when read_only = X, but that is obvious also from a visual point of view since the input field is greyed out in that case. The popup also tells you is in RO mode...
Does your SHLP work when you test it from SE11? Returns values?
SAP provides a lot of WD4A sample code, see for example component WDR_TEST_SELECT_OPTIONS look for
select-option fields > special cases > input helps > Non field-specific input help using search help
