Filter in queries on 2 Char's

Hello Team,
                    We have a situation where in we just need to exclude  a combination of Country and  Brand  in the query designer. we cannot change this in the cube as we are only asked to see the possibility of doing this in the query Designer.
We have 10 Countries data in our cube with various Brands. But, now, we need to exclude from the report U.K (Country) and   123 (Brand).  The users still want to see other Brands of U.K and also all Brands of other 9 countries including Brand 123.
So, we just need to filter the combination of 2 Char's...i.e  U.K+123. We have Country in the Rows and Brand in Free characteristics of the query designer.
Is there a way, we  can do this filter (Exclude) and if so, how is that we can do this.

HI,
Give user a selection at in the variable screen to enter which country and Brand
for the you need to give conditions
Step1
drag and drop Country and Brand to the Row and respective keyfigure value to the column
Step2
Click on Conditions (ShiftCntrlC) create a new conditions for Country by selecting only Single characteristics
Step 3
Below give the condition as equal and check on the variable selection and create new variable for Country
and transfer the selection.
Step 4
Follow the same steps for Brand as mentioned above. when you run a query the syatem will prompt you two variable screen Country and Brand. in such case the user will have options to select what he likes

    Hi, back! Spent a few hours experimenting and found
    that everything is working great (including the creation
    of international non-ASCII foldernames) when I used
    utf-8 encoding in the sieve filters rules for the
    the match strings and the folder names... at least
    so far so good... for your ref and sorry for bothering.

  • Using DISTINCT to filter SQL queries

    Hello, I am new to the forums here, and need help with a SQL query.
    I am trying to do something like this:
    SELECT `comment_ID` , `comment_author_email` , `comment_subscribe`
    FROM `wp_comments` FOR DISTINCT(comment_post_ID) WHERE `comment_subscribe` = 'Y'
    LIMIT 0 , 100
    basically I need to select three columns from one table ONLY IF:
    1. the value of `comment_subscribe` = 'Y'
    2. the value of `comment_post_ID` is distinct
    I think I may be close, but I am new to SQL and cannot figure it out..

  • Filter is not working

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying to replicate the data from one oracle database to more than one target oracle database , For this we have used region wise filter on data PUMP process , like where region_id =US,EU,IN
    The filter is working normally for ascii characters but for other language like chinese and russian characters the pump is not sending the records  ,without filter no issues ,all the char is replicating properly,  if we use region wise filter for other char (chinese,rusian) its not working ,   why the filter is not working and fetching only for other charset data in pump process... can any one help on this to resolve this issue?
    Could you please confirm is there any restriction in PUMP parameter for filtering other charset values (russian char)???

    Thanks.  I have upgraded the GG version from 11.1 to 11.2 , now the issue is resolved and russian characters also can filtered and replicated to target. i'm assuming this issue was due gg build for 10g which was used for 11g database . .

    have 2 queries when open workbook appears filter querie 1
    (0calmonth - 02.2006) soon appears filter querie 2 and i have type (0calmonth - 02.2006) again.
    I need to refresh both entering sinlge once the variable

  • Problem with alv filter

    Hi all,
    I have a problem when i filter ALV column, which has data type  BELNR (FI doc No). I input in filter FI doc: 40000007 (8 char long, w/o zero ahead), then i get the empty result. The really one i want to get is a ALV line with FI doc = '40000007'.

  • Filtering on the free chars

    Hi all;
    We are having issue in our test and dev system that after the execution of the report in BEx analyzer if I tried to filter any of the free chars; I get some wired errors and the RRMX gets disconnected from the server.
    1. 'the operation failed because of the program error'
    sometime I get with
    2. '<Install Error> missing ActiveX comp: business explorer seletor.'I don't get disconnection on this case.
    Any idea guys! Seems to me on the details:
    RSAH_BIW_CALL_SERVER(RRMX) is failing in this program; DD_CHECK_NAME_SPACE

    I have the following requirement.
    I have 4 different queries. These queries are different for different user roles. Right now, we have 4 different user roles. Even though, we have 4 different queries ... but the SELECT statement is same for all the 4 queries.
    i.e., they all retrieve the same information like, ORG_ID, ORG_NAME, MANAGER_ID, MANAGER_NAME. This view i ll be using to drop as a table.
    My question is, can you please suggest me the best way to implement this: Instead of having 4 different views, would like to have a single view using which i can execute these 4 queries based on the user logs in.
    Please let me know your suggestions ASAP.

    There are many ways to achieve this use case. few that are coming into my mind are
    1. Create a one View object with UNION ALL and use filter the queries using View Criteria based on role
    2. Use Oracle database Virtual private database feature (VPD) to filter the data when user logs-in by overriding the method in Application module.

    Can someone clear my confusion regarding 'filter' in the planning modeler and 'char restriction' in the planning query?
    1) do they do the same thing for planning query/ data?

    I am not sure that I understand your explanation. Correct me if I am wrong.
    1)If I restrict 0plant-5000 in the planning query, I either setup 'filter' in the planning modeler or in the 'CHAR restriction'. If so, which way is better? Why?
    2) what is re-usable filter?
    3) in the BEx filter, there are two options- CHAR restriction and default. I checked online info and it said that you can change 'filter value' in the run time if u restrict 0plant 5000 in the planning query. However, I found that it seems it is not true, I can change filter value in the runtime if I restrict 0plant-5000 in the 'CHAR restriction'. Did I miss something?

    what is the difference b/w Filter and Restricted Key Figure ,
    is it possible to drag and keep Keyfigures in filter

    RKF - a keyfigure that is restricted by a particular char value
    ex - 0balance restrcited by fiscalyear/period (001/2007) andf GL Account- would give you the dollar value of that particular GL account for 2007 period 1
    Filter - when you restrict a char to derive or exclude values of the char
    ex - gl account restrcited by 111111 - you would get the result set based on 111111 glaccount
    CKF - when you calculate 2 Kf's or a RKF to derive a calculation
    Freee chars - when you place a char in this area, after the report has been run, the user can further slice and dice/drill down/across on these chars.

  • IP: Use of input-ready variable in planning function

    Dear all,
    I'm using an input-ready variable for fiscal year (0P_FYEAR) in my input ready query. It's used for restricting my columns.
    I'd like to use the value of this variable in my planning function and I use VARV for that in the FOX.
    However, when implementing the pl.function as a button in the BEx Analyzer I need to fill in the static parameters the VAR_VALUE_1 with a value.
    If I delete this line from the static parameters my plfunction end swith an error.
    I like this value of course to be filled with value of fiscal year entered by the user when starting the query.
    Does anybody know how to solve this?

    Another thing on using PF.
    I've got two workbooks with different queries but using <u>same</u> filter.
    Queries differ in keyfigures, but are on same cubes in MultiProvider.
    I can run the workbooks simultaneously: no locks occur.
    I've got two planning functions that make calculations on the keyfigures entered in the workbook.
    However when I inplement the PF's in both workbooks and assign the dataprovider as filter, i do get locks!
    So, the PF also uses the same filter, but doesn't take into account the different keyfigures.
    In the fox-formula i don't have the option to make conditions on keyfigure values (field keyfigname), neither to enter them in the filter.
    Do you have any thoughts on this?
    <u>Second</u> point:
    When i filter on a navigational attribute and execute the pf, i get errors on my pf.
    It states it can't find the value of the characteristic to which the navigational attr belongs. F.i. when i filter on nav attr 'customer group'  (attr of char 'customer') and execute pf, the system gives an error on the value of char 'customer'.
    It states: value of characteristic customer is notincluded in the selection.
    Any thoughts on this one?

  • Copy-function: Where to select data-target?

    First, I worked on a cube for consolidation and created several input ready queries.
    Second, I have buid-up a second cube for disribution planning. (Because there are lots of additional dimensions being used; such as country, region, products[...]).
    Now, I want to copy planned turnover in distribution cube to consolidation cube. In other threads I've read, that it would be possible to copy data from cube to cube.
    The problem is that I don't find any properties defining the data-target.
    So. what needs to be done to reach my goals? Do I have to buid-up a multiprovider as well?

    Hi Martin,
    copy function can only copy from a char value to another value. It can not copy between key figures.
    For this you need a fox formula.
    Copy functions in BI IP will always overwrite the values that were in the target before it is run.
    Fox functions usually will also overwrite the values that were there before the function is run. If you want to do it different, your fox code would have to include some checks and so on.
    if you do not change other characteristics, you take only the 0Info_prov into the fields to be changed and make a formula like:
    {keyfigtarget, infoprovtarget} = {keyfigsource, infoprovsource}.
    when including the function button into a web template you can choose:
    planning function simple - you will need a data provider type filter or query to fill info the selection binding
    planning function - you can choose you "filter" by naming each individual char that has to be restricted while running the function
    planning sequence - aggrlevel, filter and function are fixed in the sequence
    I usually prefer sequences (I trust them more than the selections for individual functions)

  • [SOLVED] NAT gateway and bridge

    Hello. I'm having hard time trying to setup a  small nat gateway. The whole point of me doing this is to learn more.
    Here is brief idea of what I'm trying to achieve. I have done it in the past with netcfg and it worked well but then I left my project to do other things. Now I'm back and after fresh install I can't start bridge interface with netctl.

    Basically it has only 3 lines:

    I also turned the forwarding on

    when i try to start this profile with netctl start bridge-profile nothing happens and after I will abort process (ctrl+c) this is what i find in journalctl -xn

    Same happens is i try to assign static ip for the bridge. Any help is much appreciated as i have loads of equipment behind that network adapter that i can't run right now.
