Filter is blank after switching to another tab and then back
I perform a lot of filters using the data view for tables/views. However, when I switch to another tab (query editor) and then back to the data view, the filter is first executed (explanation in next sentence) and then blanked out. I was creating a filter and entered the string "<column_name> = '' " and then switched to a query editor to get the correct spelling of the value to fill in the quotes. When I switched back to the data view the filter had been executed using the null quotes (resulting in the previous values being lost) and then was blanked out. This gets a little annoying when a long filter is being built.
I apologize. I forgot to add the application details. I am using sqldeveloper version 1.5.0.52 build MAIN-52.03 using JDK 1.6.0_05 on a WinXP SP2 laptop.

Running Firefox beta and Adobe Acrobat 10. If I open a PDF document in a new tab, say http://support.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100146419, and then try and close the tab using ctrl-w, I get the message warning me about closing all tabs. If I switch to another tab and then back to the PDF document and then hit ctrl-w, it will just close that one tab and not all tabs.
Cheers.I've just been playing around and I set dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to true and now it closes the PDF document but not the tab. I have to do ctrl-w again to close the tab. However, leaving that set to true ruins the scroll mouse functionality as Acroread seems to want it all to itself.

My iPhone 4S keeps on giving me an error message about my SIM Card. It either tells me invalid SIM or SIM Failure. The only way i can rectify this it to switch my phone off and then back on again, but this resolve only lasts for 10-15 Mins, and then the same error message appears. Any ideas on the best way to rectify my alleged SIM card issues?

When I open a "pdf" file in new tab with middle mouse click. After few second my mouse will not able to scroll in page that I read. But it will be able to scroll only after I click to any opened pdf tab and click on pdf document and click back on previous tab to continue reading. It is not only happen on my laptop also on my desktop too. (winxp 4gb/8gb ram core2 duo 2.66)

Why do some iOS 7 apps lose their state when I switch to another app and then switch back?
When I switch from an app like Safari, the New York Times, Facebook, or Google+ Hangouts to some other app and then switch back, the first app takes me to its initial page, not to my place in the document I was reading. The Kindle app, on the other hand, seems to access the network but still manages to restore the page I was reading before the switch. I don't think my apps lost their place in earlier versions of iOS. Have other people noticed this? Is there something different in how iOS 7 switches context that requires apps to save their state differently than before? This problem is an annoying time-waster!
Thanks for explaining how app's loss of state can happen. However, I'm sure that the behavior of the four apps I mentioned is much worse than just a few months ago. Something must have changed, and iOS 7 is the main difference. The Kindle app behaves as it used to, but the others do not. Maybe I should note the problem in reviews of the apps themselves in the App Store -- and down rate the apps.

Moving iphone/itunes to another computer and then back again
I'm on travel and want to add more podcasts to my 1st generation iPhone which is nearly full. I have a backup at home so I thought I would just reformat and then link to my Macbook Air while on travel overseas. However, iTunes said that I had to have a network connection which is a problem since I have an ethernet connection and the iPhone doesn't like the simple USB hub that I have. I suppose I can figure this out but my question is: when I return home can I restore with a backup on my home computer so I don't have to re-install a bunch of apps?
BTW, it's rather strange that I can't reformat an iPhone without being connected online. This is trivial to do on an iPod.
ThanksAll media content will be erased when you sync to a different computer. You can transfer your purchases and backup manually before you sync. To do this, disable autosync in itunes, connect the phone and right click on it in the device list. Choose "Backup" and "Transfer purchases"
After your phone got erased, restore from that backup. See what the backup contains here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Music is not part of the backup, but if you bought it in the Store, you where able to transfer it from the phone to the computer when you transferred your purchases. -
I can't get the page zoom to stay at 80%; these new pages are WAY too big, seriously. Help! Also note, I'm not a "computer person", so I need easy fixes. I don't want to have to go someplace deep in my hard drive and mess around with anything The word "config" scares me. Thanks!

Macbook pro -After switching icloud match off and then on it is not correctly synching with icloud.
I have 26089 songs on my icloud. Both displayed on my Macbook pro and apple tv. I recently, on my macbook pro, turned off "match" and then turned it on. My macbook now shows 13806 songs, while my apple tv still shows 26089 songs. What happened to my songs on my macbook? How do I re-synch it to my icloud?

Exceed limit is easy, 25,000 songs is the limit, you have more than that so some will not be matched.
Ineligible has a number of meanings:
Were the songs purchased with a different accounnt than is being used for Match
Are they 96K or less sampling rate?
Are they larger than 200mb in size? (there may be more exclusions, I'll check) -

My iPhone 4 alert volume keeps turning its self down even though the volume is turned up. The only way to correct is to turn the phone off and then back on.
YES! This is really killing me and you're the only one to bring it up in discussions! I constantly have to turn it off and on to get it back to norm, and this other reply about clean wiping in/resetting it is just too much of a pain in the @#*. I don't have the apple warranty, but do have verizon as a carrier with insurance. I wonder if they'll have a clue as to what to do, or just default to the idiocy that is the norm. When I have multiple tabs open, I loose some or most of the page display contents when I leave that tab and then come back to it. I have to either refresh the tab to get the full page display back, OR I can click another tab and then quickly click back to the tab with missing page display. This will restore the display of all page content.
Could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

I can see the library of photos in Aperture so I know the photos are still there and still organized, but I'm unable to see them in iPhoto after switching to a different library, then trying to go back - where is that library? Its not listed. The desired iPhoto library was iPhoto 11, this one is only 9.6.
First: Locate it.
Right click on the word iPhoto in the Menu bar. This will show you the location of the Library:
Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from wherever it is to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
