Filter Projects in JDev

Dear All,
I am used to working with eclipse and I just started out learning Jdeveloper.
In eclipse, you could create separate workspaces for your projects and have the ability to switch between workspaces.
Does Jdev have this feature also?
My problem in JDev is that, all of the sample projects that I get to download from the web are getting mixed up with the
projects that I am currently working on.
What I want is to separate Samples from my Actual projects. Some sort of a filter?
I am using JDev 11G PS3 by the way.

Use "Working Sets" (funnel icon, projects accordion) and click "Manage Working Sets". You can avoid including all projects and don't necessarily have to compile. Even you can save your settings.

  • URGENT: Need help to add files to OA Project in JDev 9i

    Hi,
    OA Framework Version 11.5.10.6RUP
    JDeveloper 9.0.3.5 (Build 1453)
    1. The standard iProcurement NonCatalogRequestPG page is running fine in PRODUCTION and I have been asked to do enhancements like VO extn etc so I am trying to import files from server to JDev on my local machine.
    2. FTP $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/icx/*.* to c:/jdeveloper/jdevhome/jdev/myclasses/oracle/apps/icx
    and FTP $ICX_TOP/mds/*.* to c:/jdeveloper/jdevhome/jdev/myprojects/oracle/apps/icx
    4. Open Jdev and create OA Workspace & OA Project (default package: oracle.apps.icx)
    5. When trying to Add files and directories to OA Project, created in step 4, its bringing all files at one level. I dont see any hierarchical directory structure i.e. I dont see package like oracle.apps.icx with sub-directories like punchout, icatalog, lov,etc What I see is all files at one level under xxicx.jpr
    What am I missing here, PLEASE HELP...
    Thanks a lot!

    What you are doing is very simple job and I am sure you will achieve whatever you want.
    create a directory structure od seeded VO in your myprojects dir. then just copy vo.xml, voimpl.java and vorowimpl.java in that dir. create a BC4J component for thsi dir structure and then create new Vo with extends property as this seeded VO.
    If you still have a problem, please upload screenshot of problem to some website, I will download from there.

  • Filter Project Server custom field based on current user?

    I've got a Project Server 2013 custom field, and I'd like to create a view that only shows me projects where the value in that custom field equals the current user. Simply put: I'm trying to find functionality similar to the [Me] filter in SharePoint.
    Apparently, simply using [Me] doesn't work. How can I fix this?

    I am trying to do something similar. were you able to find a solution to this? I am assuming no.

    Hello, All!
    I use JDeveloper 9.0.3.2 and embedded OC4J 9.0.4.
    But frequently, at Run project, embedded OC4J (9.0.4) startup occurs to a mistake:

  • Migration of ADF project from JDev 10.1.2.2 to JDev 10.1.3.1; Model cloning

    Is there a way to migrate an Oracle ADF project, specifically a Model using ADF Business Components from JDev 10.1.2.2.0 to JDev 10.1.3.1.0?
    Is there a way to create a clone of a Model using ADF Business Components from one application to be used in another application, w.o.w. to re-use a Model from one application in another application?
    Thank you in advance.

    For some reason my example code was erased from the message.
    I based my general method on following one:
    see:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/jcmultiform/index.html
    int count = 0;
    private DCBindingContainer createDetailBinding()
    String detailBCName = "DetailFormUIModel"+count;
    if (panelBinding.getBindingContext().get(detailBCName) == null)
    DCBindingContainerDef bcdef = DCBindingContainerDef.findDefObject("sample.DetailFormUIModel");
    DCBindingContainer bc = bcdef.createBindingContainer(panelBinding.getBindingContext());
    bc.setName(detailBCName);
    panelBinding.getBindingContext().put(detailBCName, bc);
    ++count; //make sure the next name is unused thus far.
    return bc;
    return null;
    My method:
    ========
    private DCBindingContainer createBindingContainer(String packageName, String panelModelName)
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(packageName);
    sb.append(ViewConstants.STRING_DOT);
    sb.append(panelModelName);
    DCBindingContainerDef bcdef = DCBindingContainerDef.findDefObject(sb.toString()); //NOTE THE NAME.
    if (bcdef == null)
    throw new JboException("System error, "+getClass().getName()+".createBindingContainer, DCBindingContainerDef: "+sb.toString()+" not found");
    DCBindingContainer bc = bcdef.createBindingContainer(panelBinding.getBindingContext());
    bc.setName(panelModelName);
    panelBinding.getBindingContext().put(panelModelName, bc);
    return bc;
    Any suggestion for replacing createBindingContainer with the 10.1.3 adequate method?
    Thanks
    Fred

  • Error happened when deployed my project in JDev 11g!Help!!!

    First I ran the project successfully, then when I ran it again, error happened and other project had the same error. I found solution in forum that delete the file "system11.1.1.0.31.52.05" in the install path of JDeveloper 11g, but this needs to close the Jdev . It is so inconvenient.
    Who would like to tell me how to fix it except above solution?
    The following is the error message:

    Funny thing is, I was also able to run the application without any trouble.

  • Creating a JPA Project in JDEV 10.1.3.1.0.3914

    Hi,
    I tried out the tutorial 'Create a JPA Application' through the cue cards that come within JDev. Few issues/queries
    1. What is the navigation for "Launch the Entities from Tables wizard".
    2. I followed the steps and in one of the cue cards titled 'Create Entities from Tables' there is some explanation on persistence.xml under META_INF directory. But the only files I see are ejb-jar.xml and orion-ejb-jar.xml
    The next cue card builds on persistence.xml and I cannot proceed with the tutorial
    Am I missing something?
    3. Does this version of JDev support EJB version 3.0?
    Thanks in advance
    Syed

    1. This is under the new->busines tier menu option
    2. the persistence file will be there in build 3914 (not in previous builds) when you create an EJB 3.0 or JPA entity
    3. Yes this is there in the developer preview build 3914. Make sure you are using the correct build (under help->about)

  • Cannot recover objet in session between project in jdev

    i have two project in a different workspace,
    each project have many jsp pages.
    i would like to recover the user name ( introduced and saved in a session object by the first project (in a jsp file)) in a jsp file located in the second project.
    i resume :
    project1,jsp1 =>i do this : session.setAttribute("user",user)
    project2,jsp2 => String u = (String)session.getAttribute("user");
    but it doesn't work; u is always null;
    have someone any suggestions.
    thanks.

    Right-click the web.xml files in your projects. On the Security/Login tab choose HTTP Basic Authentication and fill the Realm with the same value for all projects. Then, if your projects are on the same machine, browsers will prompt for password only once.

  • Repository filter (namespace) project structure

    Hi:
    We are developing a repository namespace filter to enable
    manage the visibility and other aspects of news items
    created using xmlforms builder iview.
    We use EP60SP2P3HF7 with NWDS 2.0.5.
    The wizard to create the namespace filter project created
    the portal project like...
    -Project folder
    --src.api(with packages containing filter classes)
    --src.core
    --dist(containing PORTAL-INF,css,etc..folders)
    --src.config
    In this folder there is install,local folders;
    In these foders configuration XML files are located.
    After overriding filter() and other methods, when tried
    to deploy, nothing happened.
    But after mimicking the example in one of ThiloBrandt's
    documentation, it did get deployed, but NWDS par deploy
    screen doesn't close. I need to shutdown the studio.
    I did even upgrade to NWDS 2.0.8 too, but invain.
    Does any body have a good documentation regarding
    developing these filters ?
    Thank you much inadvance, for the help,
    Prasad Nutalapati

    Hi,
    the most irritating in your posting at least for me was this combination: <i>EP60SP2P3HF7 with NWDS 2.0.5</i>.
    I'm really not that deep in the NWDS infrastructure, but I have been teached only to use the NWDS version for the corresponding WAS version - that means at least 6.40, not 6.20 etc.
    So why don't you use Eclipse with the provided KM-plugins?! This should more or less work (at least for the repository services the wizard works except for one error it produces, but at least this one is irrelevant for a repository filer).
    Hope it helps

  • How to run JDev's generated build.xml file(BPEL project) from command win.?

    hi all
    When I execute build.xml file of simple BPEL project from JDev it runs properly. But when I try to execute it from normal command window It gives me an following error.
    ...........droping jar file xyz.jar from path as i doesn't exists.
    While all jar files are exist there.But Ant drops it from Classpath variable.
    So JDev sets some environment before executing such build.xml file.Like {oracle.home} variable u need to set while runnig build.xml from command window.
    Any suggestions...???
    /mishit

    you cant run a .war file from command prompt

  • JDev 9.0.3.1035 New Project Wizard Error #2

    I tried to run the File ~ Projects ~ Project from existing war(.war) file Wizard on JDev 9.0.3.1035 on win2000. On Step 2 of 2 it asks for the WAR File and and the Root Directory for the Web Module.
    When I browse to the .war file, It doesn't let me select the war file. It instead drops down into the war file like its a directory instead of a file? There is an Open Button, not a Select button on the form.
    If I type the path in, It works fine.
    Thanks
    Bret

    Hi Brian,
    Thanks for your response on all my questions! I'm not sure I follow what your saying on this one? All I've done is downloaded the Jakarta Struts Project and I'm creating project in JDev to each of the .war files that they distribute. In JDev, I don't see any other .war files within the *.war directory? If I look at this in Win Explorer, I just see a single file and need to use Winzip(or something similar) to look at the contents. JDev automatically lets me drop down into that war file?
    For Example:
    The struts-blank.war has the following directory structure:
    WEB-INF/classes
    WEB-INF/lib
    META-INF
    I do not see any other .war files in any of these within JDev?
    Thanks for your help!!

  • Jdev version problems .. please help!

    Hi ,
    I had devleoped a project using jdev 10g .. now need to open that project in Jdev 9i .. cant use jdev 10g anymore due to some issues..
    But when i try to open the project in JDev 9i , it gives a warning .. that the projects will be migrated and cant be opened with a lower version of JDEV ..
    Can anyone please help on this ! Its very urgent ..
    Regards,
    Preeti

    Preeti,
    As sumit suggested you try to fix the R12 error, else raise a SR with support and get fixed.
    Btw, Re: Regd JDEV set up .. error running default toolbox.jsp page
    is the thread you discussed about the R12 issue?
    Check the following, it may add some value for fixing your issue.
    1) Can you run the following URL in your R12 instance,
    http://<hostname>:<port>/OA_HTML/jsp/fnd/aoljtest.jsp
    and do the testings and see any error you are getting related to Guest user.
    2) Check the password for the Guest user,
    and use the same in the following query
    select fnd_web_sec.validate_login('GUEST','<PASSWORD FROM DBC FILE>') from dual;
    This should return "Y', If it returns "N', you need to change the password for GUESTin the database
    (More details check the metalink note - 458064.1)
    3) Are you able to login in your instance and access the pages without any error?
    Thanks.
    With Regards,
    Kali.

    I have noticed that the persistence.xml file have changed quite drastically from the version we had in TP4 release during project upgrade, but can not explain the problem we are getting. I have also tried to just create a dummy project and create a persistence unit, and the file looks exactly the same afterwards. Any thoughts?
    Drikus

    Just thought I would add a temporary solution to the problem for those of you sitting with the same issue.
    In the root folder of your application you will find a src folder with a meta-inf folder and weblogic-application.xml inside.
    Add the following before the closing weblogic-application tag...
    <xml>
    <parser-factory>
    <saxparser-factory>
    weblogic.xml.jaxp.WebLogicSAXParserFactory
    </saxparser-factory>
    <document-builder-factory>
    weblogic.xml.jaxp.WebLogicDocumentBuilderFactory
    </document-builder-factory>
    <transformer-factory>
    weblogic.xml.jaxp.WebLogicSAXTransformerFactory
    </transformer-factory>
    </parser-factory>
    </xml>
    If there wasnt an xml tag in the file, it seems that JDeveloper somehow adds one on the fly for you pointing to an oracle xml parser that does not contain the setSchema method required by weblogic on deployment.
    Hope this helps anybody else that has this problem.
    Regards
    Drikus Britz
