Financial reports - Conditional suppression.

Hi
Grid1 & grid2===Col's=Months
In HFReport there r 2 grids . In Grid1 Row 5 references Formulae Row Grid2.Row[10]===>> calculates division of 4 Rows of Grid2....
Grid2.Row[10] ...on this row im using Conditional suppression to suppress the cells if any of the values in 4 calculating Rows is missing......This works perfect..
But as this Grid2.Row[10] is referenced by Grid1.Row[5]..... the conditional suppression is not carried to Grid1.
Th values for the missing months is showing in Grid1.Row[5] which is wrong values as the division is based on 4 rows..
1. Can we use conditional suppression on Grid1.Row[5]..... based on grid2 Rows.
2.How can we carry the conditional suppression of Grid2.Row[10] to Grid1.Row[5]
Thanks

Data or suppression can be carried over from grid-1 to another grid-2 only when data in the grid-1 is not expanding into multiple rows/columns.
Some how you need to get the data in a single grid if that is the case.
Thanks and regards,
rahul

  • Hyperion Financial Report Conditional Suppression

    Hi All,
In HFR ......I have a requirement.....
    IN Rows there are 2 DIMS : Vendors:Level_0,1,2 & Market:Level_0...
The requirment is that the report should show the hierarchy of Vendors Dimension ONLY if we have data for Level_0 Vendors & Level_0 Market combination.....
So if the data doesnt exist for Level_0 Vendors & Level_0 Market combination ; the hierarchy of vendors: Level_1 & level_2 with Market:Level_0 should NOT be visible in the report.
I ve taken Vendors:Level_0,1,2 & Market:Level_0 ( I ve cherry picked a single Level_0 market member for a row) in a row and applied the COnditional suppression : *( Level vendors=0 AND Level market=0) AND Current Row Value =0.*
The condition works good when there in nodata for Vendors:Level_0,1,2 ,...........But when there is data for Vendors:Level_1,2 ...they are visible in report which is NOT desired.......how can i suppress these Vendors:Level_1,2 members
    Thanks

If level 1, 2 have more than one child and has data, this is difficult to achieve.

  • Hyperion Financial Reporting - #missing Suppression causing report not to generate 11.1.2.2

    Hi,
We recently went live with an implementation of 11.1.2.2 and have build large report suite in Financial reporting to accompany the release.  Over the weekend we patched up to 11.1.2.2.305.4195 however we have began to notice our FR reports are failing to generate and hang at a white screen for both HTML and PDF views.
After a little digging it looks that the issue is with any report that has suppress #missing on rows. If I take this suppression off the report will generate successfully.    This is not an acceptable solution for us as many of our reports will run into 100's/1000's of lines.
Has anyone else experienced this recently and if so, are there any other fixes to be suggested.  I'm assuming this is a bug introduced with 11.1.2.2.305
For reference we are also running the following versions.
Reporting and Analysis Framework - 11.1.2.2.000.998
Oracle® Hyperion Financial Reporting, Fusion Edition - 11.1.2.2.0.0387
    Graham

Hi, We have but awaiting a response.   Interestingly I've did some testing and suppression does work if I go via the advanced suppression option which although a inconvenient to rework the reports does give a solution.
Additionally I've noticed a couple of other issues with suppression across the application so looks to be more widespread.
    1) Webforms are no longer suppression #missing both in the application and also when downloaded to Excel.
    2) Intercompany reports no longer suppress when we set tolerance to say 10% etc.
Each in itself can be worked around but annoying non the less.

  • Financial Reporting Studio - Suppress Shared Members During Entity Prompt

I am trying to create a Financial Reporting Studio report where the entity members that are displayed as a prompt only reflect the entities the user has access to with only one occurrence in the list. I have tried the following scenarios with no luck.
In Workspace, the Financial Reporting Preference, the Setup User POV option "Member Selection Displays" is set to "Only Members I Can Access" and not "All Members Regardless of Access".
The Financial Report is set up so that the user is prompted for the Entity so they can select multiple entities to run the report.
This works fine, except this is also displaying the shared members in the alternate hierarchies when responding to the Entity prompt.
As part of Defining the prompt, I have included the main entity structure in the "Choices List" in hopes that the shared members wouldn't display as an option to select, but this ends up displaying all of the entities in the hierarchy overriding what is the Financial Reporting Preference (acts like "All Members Regardless of Access"). I have also tried the Union of "Suppress shared members" and "Same level as" a level zero entity, but I'm still seeing all of the members of the main entity hierarchy, rather than a list of entities the user has access to.
Is there a way to display all of the entities only once that a user has access to during a prompt for a report? I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!!

I don't think there's a native way to do this in HFR. How could it be done other than through creating a custom selection list? Okay, I guess that is one way but it hurts my brain to think about maintaining it unless it could maybe be done through IDESCENDANTS of 1 and 2.
    Here are two other thoughts:
    1) Write a report against the Planning (I could be wrong about you using Planning as you specify Essbase, but the question is in the Planning board) tables to get this information. I don't know how to do it, but I'm guessing with some SQL gyrations it should be possible.
    2) Stick an attribute against hierarchies 1 & 2 and report on them that way. You the designer already know that they are related. More maintenance on the front end, but a surefire way to get the member list out.

  • Hyperion Reports COnditional Suppression

<p>We're trying to build a report using conditional suppressionthat only shows variances over a certain dollar amount. Is there away to create a subtotal just of those variances that still show upon the report?</p>

  • Conditional Suppression error in Financial Reporting

    Hello all,
I'm having trouble with the conditional suppression. I have a Financial Reporting report that shows the top 10 customers. The Customer Dimension are the rows. The First column contains the Sales. So, I have a 2nd column that uses the rank function. I then use conditional suppression to suppress the rows where the value in the rank column exceeds 10. I have the Organization Dimension as a Page dimension using a prompt. If I run the report with the default prompt value ( or just select 1 different member from the prompt) , the report works perfectly. However, if I select multiple members from the prompt and run the report, only the rows on the first page get suppressed. The rows on the subsequent pages (for the other selected Organization dimension members from the prompt) do not get suppressed. Does anyone have a workaround for this problem? Please let me know.
    thanks,
    Vince Kelly

In the formatting section, you can define the negative formatting that is how it should be displayed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Conditional suppression using substitution variable in Hyperion financial r

    Hi all,
Is there a way that I can suppress a column using substitution variable in hyperion financial reporting?
For eg, i want to suppress the column if the value of the substitution variable curr_mnth = jun.
Is there a way to do this? In conditional suprression dialog box, I dont find this option.
    Please suggest.
    Your response is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sirisha.

    Hi Sirisha
In my earlier reply I think I may have mislead you as I thought that you could set the member name equal to that in a row/column and I've managed to get into a HFR studio session this morning and realised that the conditional suppression only allows you to suppress where member name = 'XXX' (specific text) so that doesn;t meet your requirement.
Different people will have different ways of achieving what you want and everyones requirements are different. If it helps my preferred way of conditionally suppressing periodic data (for Planning/Essbase) is to add a dynamic calc account member called 'TP-Index' into the database, set up a formula so that each period returns a numeric value from 1 to 12 to match the fiscal/calendar year as required.
Then in reporting bring the account and period dimensions into rows/columns so that you are able to retrieve data for the TP-Index account and the period as defined in your substitution variable. You can then choose how the suppression works based on a numeric value, commonly you may want to suppress if greater than, e.g. you have a multi-period report where your actual data is to June so you want to suppress everything from July onwards.
I'm sure that a similar thing could be achieved in HFM as well if that is your underlying system instead of Essbase.
    Does that help?

  • Condition suppression in crystal reports

I need help in conditional suppression of data in a crystal report I have created. It is hard to explain so I will show you with example data that has no reference to real data.
Here is an example of non suppressed data in two columns.
    Column A     Column B
    ****               a1
    ****               a2
    ****               a3
    ####             a2
    !!!!                 a1
    %%%%        a5
I need to be able to conditionally suppress the above example to show all records in Column B where the value in column A is the same and one row of Column be has the entry of a1. The data should look like the following after the conditional suppression.
    Column A     Column B
    ****               a1
    ****               a2
    ****               a3
    !!!!                 a1
If you compare the two examples you should be able to follow what I am after. You can see that the following entries in column A, **** and !!!! also have the entry a1 in column B. For this reason I want them returned. I also want all other values returned where this is seen. You can see that the second example of data has three records in Column B where the entry in Column A is the same and it has a1 in column B at least once.
I hope you can understand this, it was very hard to explain. Let me know if I can offer any further information.

There is a way to do this, but it's going to be a bit tricky.  Assuming that both columns come from the same table, which I'll call "MyTable", here's what you'll need to do:
    1.  Add a second copy of "MyTable" to the report.  Crystal will warn you that the table is already in the report and ask if you want to "alias" it, at which point it will be added to the report as "MyTable_1".
    2.  Link FROM MyTable TO MyTable_1 on ColumnA (as well as any other required fields if necessary).
    3.  In the Select Expert, add the following to the selection criteria:
    {MyTable.ColumnA} = "a1"
    4.  In the report, use the ColumnA and ColumnB fields from MyTable_1.

  • Working with Grid Suppression in Financial Reporting for EPM 11

    Greetings:
Does anyone know if it is possible in Financial Reporting Studio to have multiple grids with suppression so that if one grid has no data the grid below it moves into that grids spot on the report. Currently, I am able to suppress the grid if it contains no values however they stay in their fixed position.
    ie.
Grid 1 (no values & will be suppressed)
    Grid 2
    Grid 3
    Would show in report preview:
    Grid 2
    Grid 3
    What I'm getting currently is:
    "blank" (suppressed grid)
    Grid 2
    Grid 3
    Thanks

Just put all your grid possitions relative to another.

  • Hyperion Financial Reporting: Suppress Zero Data Row Not Work

    Hi Geniuses,
The projects list report has sub-groups with subtotal rows. I put suppression on the data rows of projects based on whether it's X or Y; thus, all Ys are suppressed and only Xs remain. For a subgroup M, because M only has Y projects in it, so all data rows are suppressed; consequently, the subtotal row (formula row) of M is zero. However, even I put all the basic suppression on, the subtotal row still remains.
PS: I used the formula Sum(row[x]) and [x] to sum in the subtotal row.
Any idea how to suppress the subtotal row?
    Thanks a bunch!
    Dylan

    Hi Dylan,
    Could you try the following:
In the conditional suppression for the calculated row, define to suppress the calculated row if the data values of row(rownumber/one of the input rows) are suppressed, i.e. referring to another row's value and suppression and not to values of the calculated rows.
Choose a single input row for that not one which contains a range of members to test this. If such a row does not exist, insert a single row, which is representative in this circumstance, and hide it. I tried to reproduce your case, but it works with the simple suppression in my test, so not much help to you, of course. Sometimes it's an idea just to export the grid to a new report and start from the beginning with a limited example.

  • Financial Reporting: Suppress pages for large sparse dimension combinations

    Hello,
I am trying to create a Financial Reporting report that shows only pages that are populated with data, but the dimensions that I have on the page are fairly large and very sparse. There are 8,000+ combinations of sparse members, only of which about 120 have data populated and those 120 are what I want to return on my report. I can't call out the page member combinations individually as new combinations appear regularly and I want to avoid running maintenance on the report definition each time the data in the cube is refreshed. My report isn't executing, so I suspect it is running for each of the 8,000+ combinations before determining whether or not it should render each particular page. Does this behavior sound right? If so, is there a workaround or some other trick to get Financial Reporting to test for the presence of populated combinations before rendering the pages?
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,

You can achieve this by doing following:
    1. Open report
    2. Select grid (left top corner)
    3. On 'Properties' window, select suppression
    4. Select '#Missing' in 'Basic option' section.
Good luck & let me of the results.

  • Hyperion financial  reports issue

I have problem but with Months and years in Hyperion Financial Reports.
if i run the reports for JAN 2007 it has to show for previous 12 months
in my case the year is not changing to 2006 for DEC i'm using Relative member -1 function
can please let me know how to slove this issue .Ts is very urgent.

try to do it in 2 columns ( let say you have selected 'Jul' and '2007'
    First column
    2006 - x to Dec
    2007 - Jan to y
    where x = prev month
    y= current month
there may be problem while selecting Dec 2007 cot in that case you will have to show only 2007 months. i think that you can do based on some conditional suppression
    hope this helps.
