Find a .exe file on my network
need a script create to fine program file (passport.exe) install on my network.
Ok, the quickest way to do this is to use a PowerShell workflow but all your servers will have to be at least on PowerShell V2 and PS remote enabled.
The script needs to be executed with administrator rights and with powershell v3.
Now this is not tested but it will give an idea on how to do this.
workflow Find-File
Parallel{
InlineScript{
Get-PSDrive -PSProvider FileSystem |ForEach-Object{Get-ChildItem -Path $_.root -Recurse -Filter 'passport.exe' -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue}
Find-File -PSComputerName (Get-ADComputer -Filter 'OperatingSystem -like "Windows Server*"').name | Format-Table PSComputerName,Directory

Forefox won't start in windows XP: I get the message that windows "cant' find the exe file" even when I click from the program file, rather than the shortcut.
Delete the current Firefox shortcut on the desktop and create a new desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu on the Firefox.exe program (Send to > Desktop)

Where can I find the .exe file?
I'm looking for the .exe file of Acrobat Reader, under which directory can I find it and what is the exact file name?
That depends on your OS and the version of Reader that you have installed... Also, it's possible the path was changed during the installation process.
By default, Reader XI on Windows 7 is installed under:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader
And the main executable file is called AcroRd32.exe . -
Where do I find Dynamic stamp files on a networked mac?
Hi there,
I am trying to create a dynamic stamp with a form field in Acrobat XI pro. I have been told that once you have loaded in the stamp image to create the stamp you then must open this stamp file in order to add the form fields. From the reading I have done I believe you should find the stamp files by right clicking on the application in finder, going to show package contents and then following the path Contents > Plug-ins > Comments.acroplugin > Stamps > ENU
However when I try to follow this path I get as far as Plug-ins and then hit an empty folder? The only examples on the web for this method have been with Acrobat 9 and I am using a networked mac so I don't know whether either of these factors has any bearing on my problem?
If anyone can point me in the direction of where to find my stamp files I would be very grateful. (The stamp I created appears in the stamps in Acrobat so I know it must be saved somewhere!)
I am using Acrobat XI pro (Adobe CC) on a networked mac version 10.9.3.
Thank you in advance! There are two possible locations. The one you're mentioned is for the built-in stamps, and the other is for user-created stamps. Here are the two locations on my system for Acrobat 11:
/Macintosh HD/Users/georgejohnson/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/11.0/Stamps/
/Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Acrobat XI Pro/Adobe Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/Built-in/Comments.acroplugin/Stamps/
These locations are given by running the following JavaScript in the interactive JavaScript console (cmd+J):
app.getPath("user", "stamps");
app.getPath("app", "stamps"); -
Can't find javac.exe file
After trying to install the J2EE sdk 3 times I'm at a lost. My C:\j2sdkee1.3.1\bin\ directory does not contain the javac.exe or java.exe files. I'm 100% sure I installed the sdk and NOT the JRE. For one reason or another the installations never give me those 2 files.
I made sure I've downloaded the whole installation file: j2sdkee-1_3_1-win.exe (16.9 MB).
The one odd thing is that when I search my computer, there are javac.exe and java.exe files in the "/jvm/bin" directory of dreamweaver application. I'n not sure if that has an effect on the installation.
Can anyone help me?Note the following statement:
This release relies on the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition ("J2SETM"). The following table lists the required version of the J2SE for each operating system that is supported with this release of the J2EE SDK.

Where can I find the "install.flashplayer" exe file after downloading it
I successfully downloaded flash player for Firefox 24 several times (with no error messages), but I can't find the exe file anywhere. Where is it? I uninstalled a previous Flash Player version with Windows uninstaller by mistake, and now I don't have any flash player. I can't tell if javascript is enabled. My Windows 7 64-bit system requirements are met. What can I do? I've followed the Adobe instructions, but nothing I've tried has worked. Can anybody help?
Downloads usually go to the Downloads folder. Try downloading it again from
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers) -
Photoshop 11 can't find exe. file after re-install.
After a computer crash i had to reinstall Photoshop Elementnts 11 again with no success. Downloaded again . Shortcut can't find the exe. file on my computer. Tried numerous times and the result is still the same. Setup says program loaded correctly but shortcut says different... Running with Win 7 64 bit.

My suggestion is that the shourtcut can be lost by any of the processes.
Go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe
Under these folder try to look for PSE folder and create shortcut for the files by doing eight click on it,

Failure to launch Lightoom 6 missing .exe file
I've downloaded Lightroom 6 twice now because it does not launch from the shortcut. I cannot find an exe file in the Program Files to launch directly. Anyone else having this problem and/or have a solution?
I'm answering my own question . . . you first need to log out of creative cloud and then log back in. Not sure why, but it works.

How to include and call exe file in jar?
Hi, I am writing a Java application that calls an external exe file to accomplish some tasks. In order to make the program more user friendly, I would like to package the Java application and the exe file into one JAR file and distribute that JAR file to users. I tried to package all these files by running the following command:
jar cmf manifest.txt java_class_file exe_fileThe manifest.txt contains only the following entry:
Main-Class: java_class_fileHowever, when I execute the program with java -jar bundle.jar, the JVM complains that it cannot find the exe file. (Everything works fine when I run the original class file with java)
Would anyone kindly teach me how to do this?
Thanks in advance! You cannot call an exe file in a jar.
You can have the jar unpack the exe and then run it however. -
Yet another dilemma with my CD project. I published the first
project file (of 9 separate projects) as a standalone .exe file
with an autostart file to burn to cd. I set the END to open another
.exe file. When I view output, it fails to open the second .exe
file. It opens a browser window and says it can't find the .exe
file. All project file names are only 8 characters, so that isn't
an issue. But it shouldn't try to open the .exe file in a browser
window, should it? Is there any reason I can't publish all the 9
projects as standalone .exe files and link them to one
another?Hi again
Here's the way I would think it would work.
You have a menu and perhaps ten movies. They are all in .EXE
format. The menu.exe would run via autorun.inf as long as nothing
has impeded it. So you have a Menu.EXE running. Your user clicks a
movie link and POOF! The selected movie.EXE plays. But here's the
trick. The movie opens in a new instance of the Flash player. The
Menu.exe is still running. It's simply covered by the new movie. If
the user closes the new movie, the Menu.exe is uncovered. This
allows him/her to open other movies from the menu.
Sorry, no way I'm aware of to speed things along. For one
thing, accessing anything off a CD will be slower to react than off
a hard drive. For another, maybe the movie is simply very large and
would take an inordinate amount of time to open even on a fast hard
drive. Hard to say.
Hope this helps a smidge... Rick -
Why won't my cs6 software disc install, no exe files to be found?
I am trying to install my new cs6 software that I have purchased. I have loaded the disc and my autoplay does not work even when I go in and instruct it to install software, I have searched through all the files on the disc and can't find any exe files. According to the pdf on product installation there should be a Set-up.exe file. I can't find this anywhere or anything else that looks like an installation file????? help
EmmaEither they are blocked and hidden by some security tool or you have a Mac disc. Impossible to tell. Provide screenshots and more info.

.exe files appearing on MAC in mixed network environment
I am working in a mixed PC/Mac network environment. Soon after plugging the MAC into the network, I started noticing '.exe' file appearing on my MAC.
Almost every folder on the HD now has a .exe file with the same name inside it. For example the Libray folder has a file called "Library.exe" in it now.
I have one folder on the MAC shared, and mapped as a network drive on a PC. The PC's anti-virus software keeps flagging a virus on the folder. However, I am running Intego's anti-virus on the MAC and it does not find anything.
Anyone have any ideas here? Finally figured it out... PC Network volume (shared folder) had the W32.rontokbro@mm virus. EXE file appeared anytime the PC connected to the MAC. Reformatted the PC and deleted all of the EXE files from the MAC and now I have no troubles.

This issue has been reported before by other users, and it turns out it's the effect of malware. In other words, your system is infected. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs ''in this order''. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that ''not all programs detect the same malware''!
