Find a metacharacter column in InDesign

Hello!
I will be grateful if someone can help me.
How can I search the metacharacter column in InDesign.
I want to insert a tab character before the metacharacter with find/change (text or grep)
Thank you in advance.

Hi Peter!
Thank you, but it doesn't work.
I forgot to say that it was in table columns.
I want to insert the character tab with find/change (but for this I need to find the metacharacter "end of column") and then format the table like this:
Best regards,

This is the technique I would recommend. If you'd like to wrap this
mechanism up in the model class itself, create a subclass of QueryModelBase
that provides such a method and use that as the base class for all your
    QueryModels.

    Chidu,
The result set that you get back is a JDBC ResultSet, not a "JATO" resultset. In ND, everything was wrapped in a "spider" data
structure, and therefore, difficult to get to the underlying datastructure, in many cases. In some case ND made it easier to do
certain things, and in other ways, made it more difficult or impossible(like seeing the SQL for an insert, update, delete).

Anyway, looking at the java.sql package, you can do this.
    java.sql.ResultSet rs = <jata-model>.getResultSet();
    java.sql.ResultSetMetaData rsMeta = rs.getMetaData();
// not sure if this is what you need, but it was the closest thing I couldfind
    int colSize = rsMeta.getColumnDisplaySize(int column);
There are numerous other methods in the ResultSetMetaData interface thatmay be of use as well.

  • How to find out the columns which has 16 digit credit card number

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where in i need to find out the columns which has 16 digit credit number in it and create a report with owner, table name and column name.
The issue is that the credit card number can be entered in any columns of any table of any schema. For example the credit card number can be entered in any description field(eg: The number is 4001412134642881), in that case i need to filter only the numbers and do the LUHN check to validate the credit card number.
Please provide me a suggestion on how to scanl the values of all the columns to know the column which has credit card number.
    Regards,
    Raj.

Tell me this - how the hell do you have a database with credit card number data and NOT know which columns of which tables contain credit card numbers? (and how on earth is this data NOT encrypted!?)
How is what you want to do, NOT a fishing expedition to hack a database that may or may not be storing credit card details?
And do you honestly think that we should simply trust that once you have extracted these numbers, performed a Luhn algorithm to verify these as credit card numbers, you are not going to fraudulently use these credit card numbers!?
I have marked your posting as an attempt to hack an Oracle database for fraudulent use of credit card data. I hope that your OTN account is terminated soon and trust that your too much of a coding idiot to actually succeed in this endevour.

  • Need PlSQL code to find out the column/combination of columns from a given table which will be unique values

Given a table with some columns and data associated with that. Need to find out a column or a combination of some columns, so that the values or combination of values will be unique in the table.
The table and number of columns and the columns will be dynamic.
Can you please help me with the solution?

No key is defined in the table.
Suppose a table contains 20 columns then I need the unique combinations of all columns.
Example: A table 'Employee' has 4 columns: Emp_No, Emp_Name,Passport_No,Emp_Designation. No key is defined for Employee table. Need to find out which column(single column and combination if columns) have unique values. Like, First check if Emp_No is unique then check Emp_No+Emp_Name is unique, then check if Emp_No+Emp_Name+Passport_No is unique, then check Emp_No+Emp_Name+Passport_No+Emp_Designation is unique.
Then again try with the combination of Emp_No+Passport_No and so on. In this way I need to find out all the combinations having unique values.
As Paul says, that will be a waste of time, as it will taken a lot of processing for all the possibilities, checking all the data each time to determine which combinations of columns provide uniqueness.  What happens if someone inserts or deletes some data whilst your doing it?
You'd be quicker to manually look at the tables, and make an educated guess and then test for uniqueness with a quick query on that guess.

i can't find ping & purchased column in itunes store

If you update to iOS 4.3.3 you should then see it in the App Store app. If you have iTunes 10.3 on your computer you can also do it there. Otherwise I think that you'll have to go through your purchase history on your account in iTunes on your computer.

Argh that's frustrating! I never noticed that key did not work in InDesign.
A bit of research and it turns out the MS Office has this as an option in their software. But I cannot find an option in InDesign preferences to make this work.
However, somethings are not listed in the shortcuts and preferences and are hidden triggers in InDesign which can be accessed through a script.
I'm not saying it's possible to activate the Insert Key through a script, but it's plausible that it can be activated.
Maybe ask on the scripting forum? InDesign Scripting
I know this may be a possibility as with InDesign's earlier versions of PDF export to interactive documents there previously was no way to export interactive pdfs as single pages if in Spreads.
But the option to toggle this setting was scriptable.

  • How to Find Two Matching Columns in Two Table(to create a JOIN)

I just wondering if it is possible to have a SQL query to find two matches columns in two table to create any type of joins?!
Let's say I have two tables CUSTOMER + INVOICE is it possible to run a SQL query to find two join able columns without scanning the tables visually?!
    Best Regards,

Well, there's the Data Dictionary you could query for foreign key columns/constraints.

Oracle does not provide the column information in the error message and I don't know of any way to do so outside of developing something convoluted. For example:

      4
      5     te_row.empno  := 1234;

      9
    10     INSERT INTO temp_emp

    DECLARE
    ERROR at line 1:

  • Can I lock in a finder list mode column width?

Can I lock in a finder column width in list mode?
When I open a finder window in List Mode, the Date Modified column is always 6-8 inches to the right of the Name column.
This is very irritating because I often have to drag the window larger just to find the next column and then drag them closer to the Name column.
Even if all file names are short, the nearest colums are far away.
    This is very un Apple.
    Thanks.

Thanks CtDave.  I don't have anything besides the free reader, so I did some further research on the web and found a solution that is pretty "brute force", but is an option for others that only have the free reader.  Here is a link to the full description:
    http://superuser.com/questions/306803/zooming-size-of-pdf-files-and-bookmarks
Here is the basics:  You can use a text editor and edit the PDF file.  Once in the text editor you can search for /FitH or /Fit (there surely are other codes, but those are the only ones I know of).  These are codes that tell Acrobat what kind of zoom level to apply to the destination of a jump.  So the bookmarks should all have these.  Simply do a search and replace with /XYZ.  The /XYZ code tells Acrobat to leave the zoom level as it already is.
It might sound a bit weird, but I tried it on multiple files I was having trouble with and it worked great.  Of course, my suggestion would be to make backup copy of the file before doing this in case something goes wrong.
    Thanks.

  • Text box columns in InDesign rendering in reverse

    Hello!
When I paste text into a text box in InDesign with more than 1 column or thread from another text box, it's started rendering in reverse. Not flipped, but the columns are reading right to left, not left to right. I've obviously accidentally changed a setting somewhere, but can't find it to change it back!
    Er... Help?

Brilliant. Thanks for the reply. The file I'm using is the same one I've been using as a emplate for about 3 years now, but I've recently upgraded to Windows 8 and re-installed my copy of InDesign onto that, so I could have inadvertantly flicked one of these settings on during setup.
I'll look through the properties or something and see if I can find the language settings.
Thanks Steve, I appreciate your help. :-)
