  • Fill Find edit box of Formatted search screen

    Hi,
I have an edit box and a choose button.
when I click on that choose button I get a formatted search screen.
I want the value typed in the edit box to be defaulted in the
Find Edit box of the foratted search screen.
Say I type "1" in my edit box, My formatted search screen should pop up having "1"
in the Find edit box and results pertaining to value "1"(like wild card search)
should be displayed in the formatteed search screen.
Can anyone tell me as how to implement this?

The reference to $[x.0.0] was simply meant to point you towards using the formatted search syntax for selecting fields from the current screen for use in your query.
The two techniques I mentioned were not meant to be used together, you could either use the sendkeys, or the $[x.0.0] syntax depending on which result you wanted.
The $[x.0.0] syntax actually goes in the query that is saved for the formatted search, you don't need to do anything with it programatically at runtime, business one does it for you.  You can get a formatted search to pick values up from the current screen by using syntax such as $[$4.0.0] or $[$OINV.CARDCODE]. This particular example will pick up the cardcode from a document screen.  Look in the standard help file under Formatted Searches for more details.
I have attached a sample query showing how it can be used with fields based on userdatasources in custom screens.  This one can be used to show product lookups out when the user has already keyed in a partial product code.  At runtime the $[#018.UItem] reference automatically gets replaced with the value currently in the item field.
    DECLARE @Item Varchar(20)
    SET @Item = RTRIM($[#018.UItem]) + '%'
    SELECT T0.ItemCode, T0.ItemName FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.ItemCode LIKE @Item FOR BROWSE
If you haven't seen this type of formatted search processing before, I would recommend you try to spend a little time learning it - it sometimes eliminates the need for writing SDK code at all.

    John.

  • Failed to find out the source table of query in the formated search

    Dear All,
I am trying to find out how to know the table that it is the source of a formatted search query. In the query manager --> formatted search --> select one of query --> double click to see the query. I see the query but I can't find out what table it will be used if the query like this :
    SELECT $[$13.87.NUMBER] - ($[$13.9.NUMBER] + $[$13.88.NUMBER])
If I go to receipt from production form, the column no relate to the above query are mixture of IGE1 and OWOR, so what actually the table must I choose if I redesign the above query from query generator. I need your help to solve this question. I appreciate your answer. TIA
    Rgds,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
Assuming the FS is currently assigned to a form field you could try the following:
    - Look in OUQR for the query and get it's id (OUQR.IntrnalKey).
    - Look for this id value in CSHS.QueryID and check the FormID value of any records listed. It's not the table name you're looking for but the FormID might help e.g. 139 = Sales Order = ORDR/RDR1 etc.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Andrew.

  • Help needed for Formatted Search

    Hai Experts,
would like to ask you some clarification on Formatted Search. In the
query I found $http://$44.2.1 given in the criteria part.
In some articles it was mentioned that, the 44 meant for the table
connected with the form and 2 is field index and so on.
Can you please explain how to find out those numbers and field index.
I need to work out planty of FMS to fetch data into
UDF automatically based on user input.

  • How to display an error message after validation in Formatted Search?

    Hi SBO experts,
if an error is detected on validation in a Formatted Search, how to display an error message to the user entering the data?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raghu Iyer

i created a formatted search query & attached it to the field 'Quantity' at Line Item level in Sales Order screen. just for testing purpose, i eneterd the following code lines in the query validating 'Quantity'
    if $[$38.11.0] > 50
    begin
    select @error = 1
select @error_message = 'Vendor code cannot begin to X sign.'
    end
the system throws the error : Internal error (8180) occurred [Message 131-183]
actually, i need to display an error message to the user if Quantity is not in multiples of the OITM.SalFactor2
    if $[$38.11.0] % (SELECT T0.[SalFactor2] FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.[ItemCode]  = $[$38.1.0]) > 0
    begin
    select @error = 1
select @error_message = 'Error in Quantity.'
    end
but, this expression to get the remainder itself seems to have some error
    $[$38.11.0] % (SELECT T0.[SalFactor2] FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.[ItemCode]  = $[$38.1.0])
i guess, % operator is used for modulo (to find the remainder of one number divided by another.) ? am i right ?

  • Using Form Variables in a Formatted Search

Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to SAP B1 and just trying to get some info. I have created a few formatted searches, but I am having trouble with this one in particular.
I am trying to get the 'Business Partner Type' Field under Business Partner Master Data (BP Type, [Form=134 Item=40 Pane=0 Variable=1 OCRD,CardType] to change the user defined fields category displayed [Form=-134 Item=9 Pane=0 Variable=62]
For example, when CardType is Vendor ('S' value), I'd like the user defined fields category 'vendor'( '1' value) to show
    Here is my query
    SELECT CASE
    WHEN $[$40.0.1]='S' THEN '0'
ELSE WHEN $[$40.0.1]='C' THEN '1' END
Which is then assigned as a formatted search to that field.
I was trying to find some sort of definitive guide on form variables and formatted search queries; if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it (I have seen the $[$x.y.z] variables but I am not 100% sure on their usage).
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Try this:
    SELECT CASE  $[OCRD.CardType\]
    WHEN 'S' THEN '0'
    WHEN 'C' THEN '1'
    END
Please also response for your previous open thread. You may just close it if you do not like the answer.
    Thanks,

  • Format search error

    Dear All
    1.I create a User-define field on OITM, Call U_D.
2.Create a format search Query on itemcode of Item interface.
    FS: Select $[oitm.U_D]
When the Item interface is "add" status, The FS can select data, but
when the status is "Find" ststus, the FS can't. why?
    Is my FS query wrong?
    Glen

    Glen,
The "$" in you FMS refers to the current record. If the form is in Find mode, there in no current record the FMS can access. If you want the FMS to retrieve all the value ever inserted in that field, use the following query
    SELECT DISTINCT T0.U_D FROM [dbo].[OITM] T0

  • Dynamic SQL an Form values in formatted Search

    Hi all,
Can I create Dynamically the where clause of a query (for a Formatted Search) finding that into a UDF of another table, and then store all in a Varchar(300) variable and use that variable as parameter of an EXEC?
Sorry for my bad explanation, it takes less time attach the query ...
    so here it is:
    declare  @pol as varchar(8)
    set @pol = $[ORDR.U_PolProj]
    declare @internal_q NVARCHAR(300)
    select  @internal_q = T0.U_CondPol
    from [@PRG_CEN_POL_PROJ] T0
    where Code = @pol
    declare  @itcode as varchar(100)
    set @itcode = $[RDR1.ItemCode]
    declare @sql NVARCHAR(300)
    select @sql = 'select  result =  count(ItemCode)
    from OITM T0
    where T0.ItemCode = ''' + @itcode +
    ''' and ' + @internal_q
    exec(@sql)
Could someone tell me what's wrong with this formatted search?

    resolved!!! It works

  • Formatted Search in Matrix

How to create a query for formatted search if my variable is in the matrix(some column and some row).
I would like the SAP user get a list of all Workorders for a Job, and Job is a cell in matrix.
Workorder value should be shown in another cell in the same row.
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi Pavel,
The document 'How to Define and Use Formatted Search' on the Service Market Place goes through defining and using formatted searches with queries. It also explains how to use fields in an active form in a formatted search, look at the section called 'Search by Saved Query' in the document.
To find this document go to
www.service.sap.com -> Channel Partner Portal -> Solutions - SAP Business One -> Support -> Additional Information - Documentation Resource Centre -> SAP Business One 2005 A SP 01 -> How to guides -> 'How to Define and Use Formatted Search'
This document also gives some examples of the types of queries which are used in formatted searches.
    Hope this helps

  • SQL query for formatted search

    Hi guys and expertise,
I have this one problem where i need to do the formatted search, below is my example query that i  have done
    declare @itemcode varchar (20)
    set @itemcode = (select x.itemcode from OITM x where x.ItemCode=[%])
    declare @itmgrp varchar(50)
    set @itmgrp=(select y.itmsgrpnam from OITB y where y.ItmsGrpNam=[%1])
    select
    CASE
    when @itemcode = 'Item Descriptions 1' then @itmgrp
    else t0.ItmsGrpNam
    end
    from OITB t0 inner join
    OITM t1 on t0.ItmsGrpCod=t1.ItmsGrpCod
    where t1.itemcode=@itemcode
    ***correct me if i'm wrong
    the condition is :-
whenever the user selection is 'Item Descriptions 1' user will have to select the product group name else
if the user selection is not equal to "Item Descriptions 1", automatically the product group name will be default according
    to the item code itself.
i wonder if it's possible?  if it is, then i suppose there should be a way, right?

    Hi Gordon...
Thanks a lot for the answer,
I did try some research and manage to find a way out for the query that I want, the query is as below:-
    BEGIN
    IF
    $[$38.1.0]='Item Descriptions' or $[$38.1.0]='Item Descriptions 1' or $[$38.1.0]='Item Descriptions 2' or
    $[$38.1.0]='Item Descriptions 3' or $[$38.1.0]='Item Descriptions 4'
SELECT T0.ItmsGrpNam FROM OITB T0 inner join OITM T1 ON T0.ItmsGrpCod=T1.ItmsGrpCod
    Group By T0.ItmsGrpNam
    ELSE
SELECT T0.ItmsGrpNam FROM OITB T0 inner join OITM T1
    ON T0.ItmsGrpCod=T1.ItmsGrpCod where T1.ItemCode=$[$38.1.0]
    END

But I can't find where the search is.
Do you know where I can find the list of formatted search I have?

  • Formatted Search issue

I have a UDF attached to a Purchase Order, Goods Receipt PO and Batch Numbers for Items.  B1 automatically carries the UDF data forward from the Purchase Order to the Goods Receipt PO.  However, I am trying to create a Formatted Search that will also bring that data into the Batches Setup transaction when a Goods Receipt PO transaction is being added.  Since the Goods Receipt PO record is not yet written when the Batches Setup screen is activated, I somehow need to access the UDF data from POR1 from the Batches Setup screen (OIBT).  I don't seem to be able to find a way of writing my query for the formatted search that is able to return the data from POR1 to my UDF in OIBT.  Any ideas of how I might be do this?

    Timothy,
The values in the Purchase Order / Goods Receipt screen are not available in teh Batch Number screen.
You will need to use a temp table to store the values from the Purchase Order / Goods Receipt screen.
You will set a formatted search on one of the columns of the documents row.  Through this formatted search you will insert the data into the temp table and from the Batch screen you will read the values from this temp table

  • 2 Formatted Searches on the same field

    Good Evening
    Experts:
I thought maybe one of you might have come across a similar need to what I have to do and could help out.  I have a screen that uses Whse id as the unique identifier for each record. I have a Formatted search on the Whse id in my screen that displays the Whse Code and Name from the OWHS table.  This is good for adding records so the User can see which ones are valid in the table OWHS. However, when I switch to Find mode,  I would like the User to see a list of records for my screen by Whse Id.
So, the Add needs to see all the valid Warehouses(OWHS) and the Find needs to see all records in my screen table that have been entered.
Do you have any suggestions how I can achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Ed

    Thanks for responding Owen...
After re-reading my question here this morning, it appears I was not very clear in my explaining what I need to do here.
Table OHWS has the following records:
    Whse     Name
    01          Location 1
    02          Location 2
    03          Location 3
    04          Location 4
I have a custom screen with a field called Whse id...it is the unique identifier for the table records in a table called "Test".
I started with the Add on my custom screen and put a formatted search on the Whse id field(Select Whse, Name from OWHS).  This is great for the User when doing an Add so they can see all the possible Whse to pick from.
So, the User adds a few records to the "Test" table and they might look like:
    Whse     Item     Buyer
    01          X          Joe
    04          Z          Bob
Now, when in Find mode for that Whse id field on my custom screen, I want the Formatted search to display the Whse's in my "Test" table that have been used  already.  So, the Formatted search would display 01 and 04 instead 01,02,03 and 04 like it would for the Add.
    Thanks,
    EJD

  • Formatted search case statement help

    Hi all,
I am trying to write a case statement in a formatted search, but am running into an error when I add a condition involving the item code. The code works find with the first WHEN statement involving the customer code $[$4.0.0] however, I receive an internal error when I add the second part involving the item code $[$38.1.1] Please advise.
    SELECT
    CASE WHEN $[$4.0.0] = 'C00023'
    THEN 'E002'
    WHEN $[$38.1.1] = 'ItemA'
    THEN 'J002'
    END
    THank you!

    Hi Jane,
Where do you assign this FMS? If it is on the header, the second condition will not work. If it is line level, try change it to $[$38.1.0\].
    Thanks,
