"Find" in stored procedures

When viewing a stored procedure, Find is disabled so I can't search for text. If I edit the stored procedure it becomes available as an option. Is this the intended behaviour? It seems a bit restrictive.
I am using it on OSX with Oracle 9i.

This is a known issue. We have it logged. There is a framework dependency, so at present the only way to do a search is as you have found, by viewing the PL/SQL in edit mode.

  • How to find Packaged Stored Procedure?

    Hi,
    Is there any API routine to find out if a particular StoredProcedure belongs to a package or not?? Or in the other way around , can i get to know about a list of Stored procedures a particular database package has?
    ( P.S :- getProcedures method in DatabaseMetadata gives just a list of all Standalone and Packaged procedures as one list. )
    Narendran.

    Hi,
    I have the same problem to call a stored Procedure in a Package.
    If my procedure is not in a package, everything is right.
    And I musn't indicate all the name, because I musn't put '.' in the name (of the procedure), in my DT on XI.
    It would be so nice to have an answer.

  • Finding a stored procedure in another database

    Hello,
    I have a Java class that executes stored procedures. Problem is, some stored procedures are in different a whole different database than the others. When I try to cal the ones in another database I get an error stating that the SPs can't be found. How can I resolve this? I connect to the database using property files.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Uh...
    Maybe you should connect to the database where the stored procedures are, then?

  • Could not find stored procedure

    Dear gurus,
    I am working, for the first time, on a SAP BPC ( MS ) demo.
    I have created a new input schedule based on a dynamic template, with some modifications.
    However when I try to submit data, it gives an error:
    "Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.up_ConcurrentLockDEL_HR'.;"
    DEL_HR is my application and is based on a existing one "FINANCE", but I have added new dimensions and deleted another ones.
    I can not understand this message because I don't know where I define stored procedures. I also commented all script logics that this application had.
    Could you help me on this?
    Best regards,
    Vitor Ramalho

    Hi Vitor,
    You need to login to the server, where SQL has been installed. You can login to that system using remote desktop connection.
    Once you login to the SQL server, under the databases, you will find your application set. Expand it and navigate to Programmability and then to Stored Procedures. Here, you will get all the stored procedures.
    The above statements will guide you to find the stored procedures. However, the problem, we are looking at is little different. Usually, with every application, a stored procedure with the name, "dbo.up_ConcurrentLockappname" gets created automatically. However, I am guessing that this stored procedure is not available for your application. Search for the stored procedure just to make sure that its available or not. If its not available, search for dbo.up_ConcurrentLockFinance. I am asking to search for the Finance one since your application is copy of the Finance application. So, just to make sure that the source application is fine. If this stored procedure is present but the stored procedure for your application is not present, then I would suggest you to create the application once again. Process it properly.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to find Stored Procedure in CLM

    Hi All,
    In some standard queries system is calling stored procedure, How to find these stored procedure in CLM?
    I tried in setup but I am unable to find.
    Thanks for help.
    Regards,
    Prabhat

    For accessing any stored procedure, you would need direct access to the DB. Updates to the stored procedures can only be done at the DB level, not through the Sourcing UI.
    Now, for your specific case, you could try changing the Detail Report parameter on the Master Agreement Search desktop channel to point to your report. This desktop channel can be accessed from Setup > Desktop Channels. I didnu2019t try it, so donu2019t know if this works but worth a shot.
    Another option you could look into is, creating a custom report channel on the workbench and add your report to that channel. For example you could create a new workbench page with one wide column and add the report channel.

  • Calling a stored procedure within a package

    We have a number of packages containing stored procedures. In an existing production application, we used embedded SQL in C programs to call these stored procs
    e.g.
    EXEC SQL EXECUTE
    BEGIN owner.fees_calc.some_fee(:parm1,...);
    END;
    END-EXEC;
    Now, I am trying to use SQLJ to call this same stored proc in the package. However, I am getting a compilation error from sqlj saying that it cannot find a stored procedure or function of that name. It works fine if I use a stored proc that is not in a package.
    So how do I call a stored procedure within a package? Or is this not currently possible with sqlj?
    I am also getting a warning just before the error and I'm wondering if the error is being caused by this:
    Warning: You are using an Oracle JDBC driver, but connecting to a non-Oracle database. SQLJ will perform JDBC-generic SQL checking.
    I am connecting to an Oracle 7.3.3 database using an Oracle 7.3.4 JDBC driver. I also tried using the Oracle 8.0.5 JDBC driver for the same database but I get the same warning message.

    I used the following code to call a stored
    procedure via SQLJ:
    try {
    #sql [iCtx] {
    CALL ibs.cvs_validate.validate_port_id(:IN record_id ,:IN poe_pod_flag,:IN port_id,:OUT error_code,:OUT error_message) };
    where
    "ibs" is the schema
    "cvs_validate" is the package
    "validate_port_id" is the procedure
    The code runs fine, but to get it to compile
    in JDeveloper 2.0, I had to disable the "Check SQL semantics against database schema" option on the Project Properties (SQLJ) property sheet.

  • Stored Procedures - Get Column Information

    Hello,
    I recently switched from ODP Unmanaged to ODP Managed (I'm using Entity Framework).
    The Unmanaged drivers were working fine after adding the necessary information in the web.config section. I could add the stored procedures and generate the complex types using the Function Import - Get Column information.
    After the switch the config section was updated and it all appeared to work. By the way the changes in the format of the config-section is poorly documented - to say the least.
    However when I try to generate the complex types again I just get a "System.notSupportedException" (Message: The specified type is not supported by this selector).
    Was this functionality not ported to the Managed Drivers? Is there something that can be done to enable this functionality?

    The implicit ref cursor config file format is different between Unmanaged ODP.NET and Managed ODP.NET.
    To save yourself from pulling your hair out, do the following -
    1) Install ODT 12.1 if you haven't already
    2) Find the stored procedure in server explorer, right click it and run it, and enter input parameters.
    3) For the output ref cursor that represents the return value for your Entity Function, choose "Add to Config" checkbox.
    4) Then select either "Show Config" (and then cut and paste) or "Add to Config".

  • How to find the list of unused stored procedures in SQL Server 2005?

    Hi,
    I need to find out the list of stored procedures which are not in use.
    I found there is something called "sys.dm_exec_procedure_stats " for SQL server 2008.
    Can you please suggest your ides here to do the same job for SQL server 2005.
    Many Thanks.

    In SQL 2005 there is, sort of. This is query lists the last execution
    time for all SQL modules in a database:
       SELECT object_name(m.object_id), MAX(qs.last_execution_time)
       FROM   sys.sql_modules m
       LEFT   JOIN (sys.dm_exec_query_stats qs
                    CROSS APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text (qs.sql_handle) st)
              ON m.object_id = st.objectid
             AND st.dbid = db_id()
       GROUP  BY object_name(m.object_id)
    But there are tons of caveats. The starting point of this query is
    the dynamic management view dm_exec_query_stats, and the contents is
    per *query plan*. If a stored procedure contains several queries,
    there are more than one entry for the procedure in dm_exec_query_stats.

  • Command for "How to find Cursor Size" in Oracle Stored Procedure"

    Hi
    Can u tell me....
    How to find Cursor Size" in Oracle Stored Procedure........
    I want command for that........

    why don't you try select count(*) from your_table;That requires running the same query twice - or rather running two different queries twice. Besides it still doesn't guarantee anything, because Oracle's read consistency model only applies at the statement level (unless you're running in a serialized transaction).
    This is such a common requirement - users are wont to say "well Google does it" - it seems bizarre that Oracle cannot do it. The truth is that that Google cheats. Firstly it guesses the number on the basis of information in its indexes and refines the estimate as pages are returned. Secondly, Google is under no onus to kepp all its data and indexes synchronized - two simultaneous and identical queries which touch different Google servers can return different results. Oracle Text works the same way, which is why we can get a count with CTX_QUERY.COUNT_HITS in estimate mode.
