Hi Gurus, what's the best way to find out what tables are used in DataSource or Function Module. I will really appreciate any help on this.

Hi,
As far as I understand what you are asking for I would suggest 4 data dictionaries that will help you to know the table name from the column names
1. USER_TAB_COLS
2. ALL_TAB_COLS
3. DBA_TAB_COLS
4. COLS
These can give you detail information about the columns and respective tables at user, schema, dba level. Further information on the table can be found by querying ALL_OBJECTS table giving table_name as Object_name, or you can join the data dictionaries too.
To know about various data dictionaries avalible in Oracle please query select * from cat;

you can find all those details in transaction variant,
go with SHD0 ( numerical 0) and then enter your transaction code and enter transaction variant name and then select that
Select the program SAPMV45A and go CHANGE WITH PROCESSING (F6),
there you can find the list of fields and field names.

Crystal Reports Cant Find the table

Hello ,
I have a problem when i try to preview a report Crystal Reports says that cant find the table , it happend when add a table that in his name has an underscore example "SALES_REP" , im working with CR 2008 and open access ODBC driver.
Can you help me with the problem?

Hello,
Try installing all CR patches and then test using OLE DB. If not an option we need to know more details of the database and driver/client?
I recall this may be an issue and not sure if it's been patched or not. Try searching here to see if anyone else has had this problem.

Have you tried these tables BALHDR, BALDAT and BALOBJT for checking master date daemon delta status. It may not give you complete details. but definitely helps.. If you find any more details please do let me know..

Find all tables used in a stored procedure

I have a requirement where i have to find all the tables used in a stored procedures from different databases.
Ex: i have a stored procedure where i use few tables from MASTER database and some from STAGE database.When i have written a query to find all tables used in the stored procedure, i am getting only those database table where i run the query and procedure
exists.
I have stored procedure SP1 in Master database, but i use the tables from both master and stage.
When i run this, i am getting the tables only from Master database but not from stage. i hope my requirement is clear.
I am trying to find all the tables from all databases used by a stored proc.

Your question is not entirely clear. You need to run the query on different databases.

If you know standard transaction or program for purchase order or for any function . you can know the affected tables by that transaction or program USING TRANSACTION
'SE49'.
I am working on 4.6c it does exist in this version.
if does not exist on ur version
then other way to find affected tables by a transaction or program is--
first find the development class for that transaction (like Va01) then goto se80 and enter that development class .it will show all the tables affected .
steps to find Development class for example (Va01).
press F1 to any field then click on tech. info
(ii) double click on program name(SAPMV45B).
(iii) click on object directory entry in GOTO menu.
(iv) from here u will get Development class (VA).
now in se80 u will get all the databasec tables under the node object entry.

Generic Extractors with Fm / Finding out tables used

Hello Gurus,
for a requirement, i would like to find out the table used in a generic extractor with function module.
I can see the structure with the objects used but not the tables where they are from.
How can i find that out?

Hi Gilo ,
The best way to find out the tables used in the function module will be to analyze the code . Check all your Select Statements in the code and see the tables being used there .
Sometimes in the code , we use standard function modules from the ECC. Check those standard FMs also and see what table they are using .

How to find objects ( tables) used in SP

Is there any query with which I can find all the tables used ( to perform Select Insert Update Delete operation) in a procedure in oracle 10g.
I want to take back up of all the tables used in a particular. but it is becoming difficult to find by looking at line by line as the sp is of 3K + lines.

With USER_DEPENDENCIES view :
SELECT referenced_owner, referenced_name
FROM user_dependencies
WHERE type = 'PROCEDURE'
AND name = 'YOUR_SP_NAME'
AND referenced_type = 'TABLE'

How to find the configuration use the Z message class.

Usually when I do some configuration, it may need to create some message. such as the Validation.
It raise a message when I run some standard t-code. So when I check some Z message class to find what program use this message, i can not find anything. So I assume there might two situation:
1、we can not trace it dome when the program didn't write like this way:    MESSAGE E003(ZFI).
2、this message might be used in some configuration,not in program.
so how do we find the configuration use this message? or Is there any way can trace all message ?

Case 1: Message is defined correctly with message number & message class.
     Example - Message E003(ZFI).
Easy to locate the message using whereused list.
Case 2 :
There are some FM's like BALW_BAPIRETURN_GET where we pass the message details.
For example :
call function 'BALW_BAPIRETURN_GET'
        exporting
             type       = p_message-msgty
             cl         = p_message-msgid
             number     = p_message-msgno
             par1       = p_message-msgv1
             par2       = p_message-msgv2
             par3       = p_message-msgv3
             par4       = p_message-msgv4
*          LOG_NO     = ' '
*          LOG_MSG_NO = ' '
        importing
             bapireturn = p_return
        exceptions
             others     = 1.
In these case, we won't be able to track the message number from where used list. So, what we do is before calling these FM we use the below statement,
IF 1 = 2. message e003(zfi). ENDIF.
    so that message can be tracked using where used list.
Case 3: Some messages can be configured in message control.( Table T100S ) . For those
messages we search for table T100S in the program.

You could also try table DD01T. In se 16,put in the description thats needed,you will get to know the respective data elements.
Then you can use DD03L to find the respective table. This would work if the data element is not generic.
