Find variable value out of attribute value
Hi experts,
We have the following requirement:
We have several queries in a workbook/Web Apllication.
Some of them are on sub-department level, other on department level.
We want the user to key in only sub-department (Unique)
The department is a navigational attribute of sub-department.
How can we pass through this department, using the variable -value of sub-department?
I guess we should use a replacement path variable, but w're getting stuck on the use of the rest of the parameters.
Or should we do it otherway?

So here, you will have input for sub department for few queries and in other queries you need to populate department based on sub department entered by the user, right?
Read the subdepartment varaibel value when the user enters and store it as global value in the customer exit code include. Based on that read the attribute value and populate it to the department variable. This just needds some smart ABAP declarations.

I was hoping someone might be able to help with this question.
I am creating a series of value set values using fnd_flex_val_api.create_independent_vset_value and fnd_flex_val_api.create_dependent_vset_value as part of a migration.
These APIs do not allow you to pass in attribute column values.
How can you create a value set value which has attribute values populated ? Is there another API does anyone know ?

Pulling actual value out of Attribute
I have this simple XPath code that works swimmingly to pull tags out of an XML Doc. However, when I it returns the correct node, it actually returns the whole thing as follows:
value="TempFile.zip"
My super newb question is, do I have to parse this? or can I get it to return the the text that is contained in the value. This is what it would be nice to see:
TempFile.zip
Just curious. This might meen that I need to go pick up an XML book. But if someone has some info out there I would appreciate it.

Change an attribute value in the last level of a tree
Hi,
I'm using jdev 11.1.1.0.1
I have a tree composed of 5 VO. Each VO represent a level of the tree. I made an "executeWithParam" in my VO level 1 to pass some parameters.
I would like to make a "setAttribute" on my VO level 5. I'm working with a tree, so i can't do : "getMyVo.getCurrentRow.setAttribute..."
How can i do?
ideas :
- Today, i use bind variable to pass parameters from first level VO to last level VO : can i put the bind variable value in an attribute value?
- Is there a method to override in the viewRowImpl.java to catch the "setAttributeInternal" made by ADF? so i could change the value of this attribute
- Is there a method to override in the viewImpl.java which can help me?
I try a lot of think without success... hope someone can help me

Masterdata attribute values still shows up
Hi I have a requirement to blank out few attribute values from Masterdata. I Did remove the mappings of those info objects to source field at the transformation. Now when I transported the changes and reloaded full update of masterdata, I still see values for ' not mapped' attributes. I am suspecting it cld be from earlier data existed in test system for that masterdata. Also I am not able to delete complete masterdata from the context menu...Please suggest me ways to accomplish this

The master data values shown for unmapped attributes are basically from the existing master data.
If you want to clear these values then you have below given options,
1) Delete the whole master data from the context menu of master data infoobject, which may or may not delete the full master data based on the usage.
2) Use of SE14 to delete the master data, in this case data will be deleted at database level and this option might corrupt your transaction data due to unavailability of proper master data.
3) Create a new transformation rule with all the unmapped attributes having a new mapping created with update type as Initial.
execute this new transformation DTP once and then all the existing values will be made initial. After that you can use the earlier transported DTP and transformation for further update.
I will always prefer the 3rd approach as it is safe to implement and can be utilized in future if required.

Go to Solution.Sometimes, camera firmware is the problem. Sometimes, the camera XML file is the problem. Sometimes, the way that IMAQdx tries to force settings onto the camera is the problem.
Things to try:
1. Check with the manufacturer, and ask if new firmware is available for the camera. If the firmware cannot be updated by the end user, you will need to get a Returm Merchandise Authorization number, and send the camera in for the upgrade.
2. Edit the XML file that was downloaded from the camera, and remove all references to CameraAttributes::AutoFunction::AutoTargetGrayValue. Do not alter, or remove the zip file that resides in the same location as the XML. If you do, IMAQdx will request a fresh copy from the camera, and overwritew your changes. You can find the XML file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Data\XML
3. Edit the camera .icd file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Data, and remove the reference to CameraAttributes::AutoFunction::AutoTargetGrayValue.

No need to go FMS. Open any transcation screen. For eg., Open Sales Order, goto Form Setting -> Table Format. Please check the field column like "Tax Only".
Then open any SO, check it out this Link, u will get the full information and tax break etc...

Function Module to find out the release value in contract
Dear All,
I have to upload the contract with new accoutn assignment without changing the existing contract. For that i have to download all the existing contract data with value.
In that case i have some issues regarding the value.
For example : In the system old contract is created with value 1000 and the released value as 500.
In that case i have to uload the new contract with all the details of existing contract with value of 500 (1000-500=500).
How can i get the value (500) and from which table.Is there any functional module to find out the release value in contract.

You need to link the table VBFA and VBAK.
For a contract you can check all the subsequent document (which you can filter whether you want to see Order / delivery / Billing) in VBFA and then from there pick the subsequent document no. and then from VBAK you can pick the Net value of these subsequent documents, and so you will have both the values (value of Contract and value in subsequent document) and you can determine the balance value.

How my work will go
Step-1 - I am creating XML FIle which is based on code that we discused before-
Its developing xml file with data in <...inputelement> as u can see in my xml but in <..output> Element of xml its just have all column for exampe <itemoutput>

<FLD NM = "XYZ:> </FLD> --- for varchar2
</itemoutput>
In 1st stage i am just generating <..INPUT> with its colums and real value from database and <..output> elements will go zero value but with colums name.
Note. I create temp table will all COLUMN which u can see in both in <..ITEMINPUT> and <..ITEMOUTPUT>
Step2.. After Generaing my xml i want to convert my xml data into CLOB not in a file. so clob will go to the VENDOR
STEP3.
I will Recieved again xml data in CLOB from the vendo in <.OUTPUT> ELEMents
for example
I send this format

<FLD NM = "XYZ:> </FLD> --- for varchar2

And i will receive it

So will take this output valu from xml clob and will update my staging table .
Which have the same colum name as its look in xml clob.
Step- 4. I will take this value from staging table and update my original oracle database table. which i send you before.
But u leave this step becaue you dont know the staging table colum maping with original table.

Setting an attribute value of a tag equal to a String variable in scope
Hi,
I don't think this is possible because I get an "expression not allowed" error when trying it. But long story short I'm trying dynamically set attribute values on a taglib. For example:
<%
String value="attributevalue";
// set the attribute of the tag below equal to this variable value
%>
<tag:mytaglib name="<%=value%>"/>
I looked at the generated jsp page and seems like the variable "value" is not in scope of the method that processes the tag. Does anyone have any ideas or can confirm that there is no way to do this. Thanks!You can do it.
In your tag library (*.tld) file, have an entry as:
<attribute>
<name>name</name>
<required>true</required>
<rtexprvalue>true</rtexprvalue>
</attribute>This should do the trick.

How to find out the ASCII Values for Spanish character

I had an requirement to store Spanish character and also need to fileter the records based on the Spanish character.
Kindly guide me for below.
To filter the Records which contains spanish characters?
To get the ASCII Values for the particular column?
E.g. we can find out the ASCII value of 'a' by using the syntax select ASCII('a') from dual.
But I want to find the ASCII Values for the particular column value. Ie. name.
E.g., Client name is "Suresh", I want to the ASCII Values for entire name of "Suresh".
Kindly do the needful help / Guidance on this.

6 rows selected.Note that the WITH statement is only there to simulate a table for this example. With a table, all you do is get rid of the with and substitute the name "t" for the name of your table (also the name of the column to whatever name the column has in your table).
Lastly, I suggest you post your question along with, an example table and the output you'd like to get in the PL/SQL forum. There are people there that will give you all kinds of great ways of solving that problem.

Using Oracle Text to find attribute values in a XML document
Can anybody help me? I created a index on a URIType column,
create index my_index on uri_tab(docurl) indextype is ctxsys.context parameters ('SECTION GROUP my_sections').
Before index creation I executed these two functions, which prepare Oracle on text search in attribute sections: ctx_ddl.create_section_group('my_sections','XML_SECTION_GROUP') and exec ctx_ddl.add_attr_section('my_sections','machinetype','MachineType@text')
After index build I looking for an attribute value.

Let's take an example. I have taken some attribute from LDAP server by dbms_ldap.first_attribute and would like to know if the values of this attribute are strings or some binary staff.

you can find currently used parameter values v$parameter and v$parameter2.
if default values is different real values then you can see alert.log.
because in alert.log you will see non default values, rests is default.

It sounds like you need to set the <rtexprvalue> tag to true in the TLD for your tag. If you do this the tag will read in the value you are trying to pass to it.
