Finding bottomScrollV property of a textArea

I am trying to make a textArea scroll by a 'display length'
using actionscript, to clarify, the textArea could be set to any
height, and if the content overflows then instead of scrollbars
appearing a 'next>>' button appears, when this is clicked the
text is scrolled by the height of the box, effectively paginating
the text.
In the actionscript 3.0 cookbook there is an explanation
(chapter 9) on scrolling textFields with actionscript, whereby
important properties like bottomScrollV are available to make this
quite simple.
However I am using a textArea, in which the bottomScrollV
property is not available.
In the flex docs, it says that each textArea has a textField
property:
"textField: property - protected var textField:IUITextField
The internal UITextField that renders the text of this
TextArea."
in which the property could be found, but I can't seem to
access this property, I get the error:
"1178: Attempted access of inaccessible property textField
through a reference with static type mx.controls:TextArea."
is this because the property is 'protected'
any advice welcome. Thanks
James

    Hi,
Yes, the keys I mentioned open Property Palette.
I have no clue about short-cuts for properties in an open palette.
The Up and Down arrow keys work will you enter a LoV, and I could not figure out key strokes to come out of the LoV !
Maybe someone else has some idea of this.
    Cheers,
PS: I was trying on 11g R1 as I do not have 10g any more.

  • Where can i find this property?

it's said that arrays contain information about their size
and we can use "myarray.length" to get such information.
but i just can't find this property in the Java API. Can
anyone tell me where can i find it?
    Thanks,
    eileen2

It's not in the API. But you can read about arrays in the Java Language Specification.

  • Cannot find mode property

    Hi,
I read that there are different modes (update data in pdf, use pdf, generate pdf) for interactive forms but when I go to my interactive form -> properties I cannot find this property.
I work with the following software:
    <i>Adobe Reader 7.0.9
    Adobe Life Cycle Designer 7.1
    SAP GUI 6.4
    Netweaver 04s
    ADS is working fine
    </i>
Do I need further Software or what could be the reason?
    Best Regards,
    Nadin

if interactive form->properties->mode is not there...
there may be something wrong with the installation.
    <b>check the following points</b>
<b>(this is an old version of requirements but still will help)</b>
<b>2-1</b> The SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (Support Package Stack 11) including Adobe LiveCycle Designer (forms design tool) is installed on your computer.
<b>2-2</b> You have access to the SAP J2EE Engine (Release 6.40). (Note that you can download an evaluation version (Sneak Preview SAP Web Application Server 6.40 Java) from the SDN Download Area at https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/downloadarea.sdn.)
<b>2-3</b> Adobe Reader 7.0.x is installed on your computer.
<b>2-4</b> The Active Component Framework (ACF) of the Interactive Forms integration is installed on your computer. With SP Stack 11, calling a Web Dynpro application that includes a PDF form for the first time should automatically install the ACF in the background. If you experience
difficulties that may be related to the frontend installation, please see SAP Note 766191 on the SAP Service Marketplace for manual installation.

  • I'm looking for an app that will help find my property stakes.

I know where 2 of my property stakes are and want to find the other 2. Is there an app that I can put a "flag" on the 2 stakes, and walk the 300' and find the other stakes? Most apps I see do distance in kms or miles. thanks

Google Maps can mark locations and show feet, I believe.
But you're looking more for a GPS tracking app, if you look at one of hiking or running apps, one might handle feet. I've seen some golfing drive distance apps also.

  • Find a Property's use by a previously created PickWhip Connection?

If I know I've used a property via a PickWhip connection, how do I backtrack and find where those connections and uses of this value are?
If thinking in terms of Finder, when clicking on something that's a File in Xcode it's possible to "Reveal in Finder".
When clicking on an Object Name it's possible to jump to its definition, or where it's used from the Definition. What's the equivalent processes within AE?

    The timeline finder scouts all selected layers, and parses : layer names + all properties names inside those selected layers + all expressions texts (if any);
So you can select the layers (Ctrl+A to select all layers), and copy/paste the text produced by the pickwhip in the timeline finder.
For instance, if the property that you have pickwhipped is the slider property of the effect called "Slider Control", the text produced by the pickwhip should be : effect("Slider Control")("Slider")
Copy/paste that text in the finder, etc.
    Xavier.
Edit: Actually, if no layer is selected, the finder scouts all layers in the comp, so no need of Ctrl+A (way faster if many layers).

  • IDataItem cannot find custom property

I created a custom class, which inherits from incident (not extends), to which I added some properties.
I am creating a dialog window, which should change one of these properties (a list). It is working fine when I get the property with EMO, but when trying with IDataItem the property cannot be found (propertyNotFound error).
I've tried to attach my dll to the console, and look through the non-public fields, and I can see that IDataItem is getting my custom class, although I cannot find any key, value pair of my custom properties (other than their declaration nested in the class).
Does any one have any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • How to find the property and method easily?

Like msdn, jdk, it's easy to search. Or like Eclipse, Visual Studio etc. IDE auto popup the property or method, any question just press F1 then get help. But it's not easy to do in Flash Professional CS6. Sometime it popups the method/property in some class but many are not. Please advise. Thanks.

Usually if you have the property/method in the code you can right click and choose Help.  The result should be that the help documentation for the class that the property belongs to will open.

  • Unable to find Form.UDFFormUID property in B1 SDK 8.81

    Hello Experts,
I'm quite new to SAP SDK and I have a little question for you:
I know there should be a UDFFormUID property in the Form object of UI API, from B1 SDK 2007 and 8.8 also, as it is said for example in this thread:
Form UDFFormUID new property in B1 SDK 2007 SP01 PL11!!!
My problem is: i'm working with UI API version 8.81 (the reference in Visual Studio is SAP B1 UI API Version 8.81, TypeLib version 8.8), but nevertheless I can't find the property, that is, the Form object does not have the property... Even if the property is listed also in my local SDK Help.
    How could it be ?
    Please Suggest
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
Welcome you post on the forum.
That property had been a new addition in some of 2007 and 8.8 versions. It may not guarantee its availability in 8.81. You could post the question on that thread or wait until SAP team member reply.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • BPEL Correlation: ORABPEL-03812 Cannot find property alias.

    HI,
I have created a BPEL process, that places a message into a JMS queue, and waits to receive a response in anoter JMS queue.
In both the request and response message types, there is a uuid field, that has been populated initially with generateGUID() function etc.
I plan to correlate based on this value.
I am using correlation sets to correlated to the BPEL instance using the uuid field in the request and response fields.
Ive gone by the book i.e. BPEL developer guide, in creating the Correlation set, property, property aliases etc.
I am able to successfully compile and deploy the process.
But on execution of the BPEL instance i get error as follows.

    Hi,
I solved the problem too :)
In the outbound jms adapter call, where the correlation is be started, there is an in|out|in-out attribute that needs to be set to out. probabaly signifies the outbound message from that node.
    This worked :)

  • Textarea formatting for read-only display

    Hello,
I currently have a textarea field that is on a data entry screen, which can be displayed as editable or read-only, based on certain criteria. I noticed that when text with line breaks is entered into the textarea, it keeps these line breaks as expected when viewing the record again in edit mode. However, when the record is read-only, and the textarea is showing as read-only text, the formatting has been an issue -- all of the text is run together as if it were one continuous line. In the Label area of properties for the textarea, I added in <PRE> in the Pre Element Text value, and </PRE> for the Post Element Text, to retain formatting of the text. The good news is that now the text formats properly in edit or read-only mode; however, if a long amount of text was entered before a line break, when viewing the textarea as read-only, the text goes on and on far past the right edge of the screen so a lot of scrolling must be done to read the text.
Is there some property or workaround I can use to restrict the width of the text showing when read-only, so the text will wrap but also maintain line breaks? I don't want to change any properties that will cause the edit view of of this textarea to function any differently. In a nutshell, I'd like to be able to have the text wrap, but still show the line breaks.
    Thanks in advance,
    Brian

Yes, I had the same issue.
    Read only with textarea .
It is not fixed in 3.0 version I don't know if it is in 3.0.1.
My workaround was to use javascript to change the property of the textarea to readonly on page load event upon certain condition, something like :
    if ('&P8_EMP_TYPE.' != 'EMP' || '&P8_DATE.' != ''){
    document.getElementById('P8_EMP_COMMENTS').readOnly = true}
You should be able to do something similar with most conditions, if you find a better workaround pls let me know.

  • Error Reading Property File in Portal Component

    Hello,
I have created a portal component that calls an api that is located in a jar file.  The documentation on the Portal Component Structure specifies putting the jar file in the PORTAL-INF/lib directory, which I have done.  The problem is, my jar file reads a property file using ResourceBundle, but it doesn't find the property file.  I have placed the property file in the jar file, and throughout the portal component structure, but it just can't find it.  Has anyone else done something similar?  If so, where did you put your property file(s) for external jars that are used in the portal component.

    Hi,
I had similar issues and moved the property files to PORTAL-INF/classes.
