Finding real Client IP Address under PROXY Server

Hi friends,
I have a requirement to find out the Client IP Address that is under a Proxy Server.( Actually I used the getRemoteAddr but this always returns me the Prox-Server IP Address and not the real Client IP Address)
Can some one guide me how I can do this with JAVA JSPs / Servlets..
Thanks a lot!!

Most proxies can be configured to forward the client's ip address in a request
header to the origin server - check the headers sent to the server and you should
be able to identify it.

  • How to Find the Hostname / IP Address of Reports Server From Forms

    Hi
    We have following query to find out on which machine form server is running,
    but how to find hostname/ip address of reports server (if there are more than one reports server running and on different machines).
    SELECT SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','HOST'), SYS_CONTEXT, SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','IP_ADDRESS')
    from dual.
    can anybody answer?
    rocky rocks.

    Our oas name is the same as the box name, and the report server naming convention is rep_(oas name) so that makes it easy to find out.
    I have a pll attached to my form that contains the following function, which works for PC or UNIX based app server:
    -- get_oas_name - Returns OAS name.
    -- caveat:  Can't be run from pre-form, when-new-form-instance or when-new-block-instance of first
    --          block on the form due to webutil limitation.
    FUNCTION get_oas_name RETURN varchar2 IS
      fp text_io.file_type;
      oas_name varchar2(30);
      op_sys varchar2(30) := get_application_property(OPERATING_SYSTEM);
    BEGIN
      if op_sys = 'WIN32COMMON' then
        oas_name := webutil_clientinfo.get_host_name;
      elsif op_sys = 'SunOS' or op_sys = 'UNIX' then
        host('/bin/uname -n > /tmp/oas_name');
        fp := text_io.fopen('/tmp/oas_name','r');
        text_io.get_line(fp, oas_name);
        text_io.fclose(fp);
      end if;
      return oas_name;
    END;Then in when_timer_expired (first place you can use webutil functionality) call it accordingly. I also use it to set platform dependant variables so the form will run
    when I'm working on my PC or deployed on UNIX:
    declare
      :control.op_sys  := get_application_property(OPERATING_SYSTEM);
    begin
          :control.oas_name := get_oas_name;
          :control.report_server := 'rep_'|| :control.oas_name;
          if :control.op_sys = 'WIN32COMMON' then        -- For running locally during development.
            :control.close_page := 'http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms90/common/window_close.htm';
            :control.rpt_temp := 'c:\temp\';
          elsif :control.op_sys = 'SunOS' or :control.op_sys = 'UNIX' then
            :control.close_page := 'http://'||:control.oas_name||'.yournamehere.com:7779/forms90/common/window_close.htm';
            :control.rpt_temp := '/appl/oas/yournamehere/reports/cache/';
          end if;
    end;Good luck,
    Gary

  • JAX-WS client - WebLogic - SSL with proxy server

    Good night!
    I'm having trouble communicating with webservices using certificate authentication (weblogic.wsee.jaxws.sslclient.PersistentSSLInfo) through and going through a proxy server (weblogic.wsee.jaxws.proxy.ClientProxyFeature) .
    If communication with the webservice is done directly (no proxy server) everything happens perfectly, but to set the proxy server I get the exception "BAD_CERTIFICATE." it is as if the certificate was not attached in the request.
    The webservice client was generated by JDeveloper.
    Has anyone experienced this problem?
    Sorry for my bad english

  • How to add address of Proxy Server

    When using Safari and other internet applications on the iPhone I cannot access the internet pages on my iPhone but when I use Interenet Explorer on my Windows machine using the same internet address and the the same wifi connection all is OK. The wifi connect works OK because I can access email.
    In Microsoft Internet Explorer the only way it works is by entering a proxy Server address. How can I set this for the iPhone?
    Thanks Lachlan

    Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap the little blue arrow at the right of the network you're connected to, then scroll down to HTTP Proxy, tap Manual and enter the server and port, or if you use an automatic proxy setting, tap Auto and enter the URL. You should be able to get that information from the settings in IE on your computer.

  • Client IP address in Portal Server

    Is there a way to get end user client IP address in the Portal server? Currently, gateway intercepts the client request and from thereon gateway acts as the client for portal server. So all I see is gateway IP address.

    Hi !
    I think it is adressed as bug id 5044891 and fixed in patch 116856-12. The latest patch now is 116856-15 Go to sunsolve.sun.com -> patchportal and enter 116856-15 in the search field.

    i tried disabling windows firewall, and tried to add firefox in firewall also, but none of these works.

    You can try to set '''Auto-detect proxy settings for this network''' in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''Network''' > '''Settings'''. If it's still not working you may have to contact the network provider.

  • "do not use proxy server for local (intranet) addresses" IEM setting

    Hi, i would like to find out where can i find the following setting in GPO which used be found in IEM.
    "do not use proxy server for local (intranet) addresses" Enabled/Disabled
    as currently im setting the IE proxy exception list via GPP, i don't see that option.

    Hi,
    As you notice that when we use GPP Internet Setting item to configure bypass proxy servers, there is no "do not use proxy server for local (intranet) addresses" option in GPP Internet
    Setting item. However, as suggested by zanderol24’s reply, we can use bypass proxy server for local addresses option under
    Proxy server to achieve the same function.

  • How to properly terminate SSL at Sun Proxy Server?

    Hi:
    Client is using Sun Proxy Server (4.0.x) as a reverse proxy to a host with Sun Application Server Enterprise Edition with Access Manager / Portal / Identity Manager deployed as J2EE apps.
    For access through proxy with http, it is properly seen by AM as an http URL. But for access through proxy with https, it is seen by AM as an https URL.
    My suspicion is that the Proxy Server is not properly configured to terminate SSL at the proxy. However, I do not have enough experience with Sun Proxy Server to confirm. Below is the configuration file.
    Any ideas? My novice theory is that the multiple mapping rules are causing some sort of conflict. Perhaps the connect rule for port 443? All of the examples I have been able to find for mapping rules are from http to http or a local file, NOT https to http and vice-versa. Are these rules correct?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Gerald

  • Client connecting through a proxy

    hi
    i'm new to RMI programming, i need to clear some things up
    . is RMI a standalone protocol like http or does it require another protocol so
    it can run over it ?
    . how does an RMI connection get through a proxy server, ie. if the client is behind a proxy server and the server is a known public host, can the client still get to the server, or does this have to be done in the proxy configuration?
    Is there certain types of proxy servers RMI can't go through or ( they won't let it pass through ) .
    i need those infos because i've been stuck with an RMI server deployed on the net and a client behind a web proxy, the same box ( IP ) hosting the RMI server also hosts a WEB server from which javaWS starts the application but this application exits at a certain point sayin it cannot find the RMI server.
    i didn't have the chance to test through a direct connection, but have tested
    in an intranet environment and it was workin great,
    thanks for any help

    . is RMI a standalone protocol like http or does it
    require another protocol so
    it can run over it ?The question doesn't make much sense. HTTP runs over TCP, and so does RMI. RMI also uses the Serialization protocol.
    how does an RMI connection get through a proxy
    server, ie. if the client is behind a proxy server
    and the server is a known public host, can the
    client still get to the server, or does this have to
    be done in the proxy configuration?http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/rmi/faq.html#firewallOut
    s there certain types of proxy servers RMI can't go
    through or ( they won't let it pass through ) .Java supports SOCKS and HTTP proxies.

    I also need to do this but not found any way yet. Somewhere I read that we can set the socket proxies (because mine was an application which tries to open socket connection over the network) through command line or by setting the system properties "socksProxyHost=<proxy_host_address>" and "socksPoxyPort=<proxy_port>". I tried to solve my proxy issue this way but all invain. While setting these system properties it is required that your proxy server is using the SOCKS service which I think is mostly the case but it still didn't work for me. You people try and c if it works for you. If anyhow you manage to get this issue resolved then please tell me also by posting a message.

  • Suddenly get message: Proxy Server is refusing connection. How do I fix to access the Internet as before?

    Had no problems getting on the Internet until about a week ago. Then suddenly when I tried to click on a website, I got this message: "proxy server is refusing connections"; however I have no proxy server when I go into My Computer and check under proxy server. I have tried uninstalling Mozilla Firefox and then downloading the new 4.0--which did, indeed, install.
    Yet, when I clicked on the icon, I got the same old message.
    How can hook back up to the browser so that I can go back online and access internet websites?

    If you do not keep the "No Proxy" setting then see:

  • How to get the real client ip from HttpClusterServlet?

    Hi All,
              WL 6.0 sp2 on Linux.
              When HttpClusterServlet is used, invoking HttpServletRequest.getServerName()
              will return the server name of the proxy server where HttpClusterServlet
              installed,
              rather than the actual client's ip which we are interested in.
              Anybody knows how to get the correct client ip through the proxy server? Any
              workaround? Or does a patch exist?
              Any help will be appreciated,
