Firefox 16.0 and the last 15.0.1 I had issues with yahoo mail page turning fuzzy and an error message firefox is unresponsive. Page froze up and could not close

I signed into yahoo mail okay. what happens is after I open my mail the past two days all of a sudden the page would get fuzzy and I couldn't read anything or it would turn white. This never happened before and I looked at the top of the browser and it said mozilla firefox is unresponsive. I tried signing out and nothing worked. I tried minimizing the page and closing it manually and it would not let me. I tried deleting cookies and what happened it that the temporary files kept deleting for about five minutes. it was very upsetting. I have no idea what is causing this. Even when I went to control panel-internet options-delete cookies it sometimes went unresponsive. that's a first. any advise is helpful

Firefox keeps its own temporary files and cookies, separate from the ones stored by IE which you can manage through the Windows menu. If you haven't already done the following, please give it a try:
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove your yahoo.com cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these:
* While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help at all?
When Yahoo goes blank or fuzzy moving to a different task, it may be doing some kind of animated transition. Have you noticed any graphics or font rendering anomalies?
Try disabling Firefox's hardware acceleration of graphics. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you restart Firefox, is the issue improved?

You turn private browsing off on the Safari page. Tap the + sign in the upper right corner, then tap private in the lower left corner. You know you're in private when the top of the screen is dark.

With iOS 7 on the iPad, you turn Private  Browsing on and off by tapping the URL field.  The screen that  opens up has your bookmarks on it.  In the bottom left corner is a hot button marked 'PRIVATE'.  Tap on the word 'PRIVATE' to turn private browsing on or off.  Yeah, there aren't any instructions anywhere that I can find to do this, and if you follow Yahoo's instructions, they don't work.  This doesn't happen with the previous Apple OS, and you can restore your iPad to the older OS.

first, you just asked me to use MS file Explorer to see what the properties were.,..and to ask what happened. Yes - that's on my hard drive. The problem I have is opening word files in a DB that is web enabled.....I've used Firefox browser for that, and everything else , for years...... When I look at the Tools, and options on FireFox., as your support page noted.....NOTHING is listed in the Applications tab....hence my note asking for help. The file I need to open is a Word file out on a web enabled DB. It's not on my hard drive - I have to problems opening docs there - but for that, I don't use Firefox

  • Hi: My wife has mail sent from a 3rd party email account. When she attempts to trash these emails 2 things happen. The message goes in the trash and an error message happens..Trash-home email. Operation could not complete. File exists.

Thanks in adavnce for any help you can offer to solve the above issue with Mac mail on my wifes' MacBook.

    Hi:
I should also mention thatthe issue is with Mac Mail, which is where the messages are being forwarded to from the 3rd party email account.,......sorry for any confusion.
This is a problem that cropped up recently, i.e., previous to the past couple of weeks, she had no issues with trashing email.
    Thanks,

  • Scrolling suddenly stopped working on laptop. this is'nt the first time as I have had issues with my laptop mouse scolling feature not working

What a pain in the ass. Firefox will inadvertently stop the scrolling feature from working on my synaptics laptop mouse. It works for every other program except Firefox. Really??? This has happened on other versions of FF and I was sooo reluctant to upgrade as I was afraid it would happen again and viola, 3 days later it stopped working. If I restart FF scrolling works for about 15 seconds and then stops again. This is a joke.

Therefore, t there any way to just completely delete all the old backup data out of my Time Capsule from my prior Mac Laptop?
Here is how to do this:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
Click the Disks icon at the top of the AirPort Utility window
Click the Disks tab below the icons
    Click Erase
The "Quick Erase" option will only take a moment or two
Now you can backup your MacBook Pro. If you connect an Ethernet cable from the MBP to one of the LAN <-> ports on the TC, the first backup will go 3-5 times faster than wireless.
Once you have the first backup done, you can use wireless for subsequent backups since they will only take a few minutes

  • When I turn on my iPod Touch 5th generation, half of the screen has vertical white lines and it is irresponsive to the touch... is there anyway this can be fixed because this is my third time in the last 4 months I have had problems with Apple.

The screen looks completely normal besides the vertical white lines on the right hand side of the screen, as the "slide to unlock" is lighting up and the time and date are changing, but the screen is unresponsive. After several problems with Apple in the last few months (and two defective iPods including this one and one iPhone), I really don't want to go through the whole process of bringing it in or getting a new one entirely. It would greatly help if someone knows a solution, even if that would require completely resetting the iPod to factory settings, as I have had is synced to iTunes before. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help. Thanks.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Seems like a bad digitizer or connection or logic board.

  • When firefox trys to auto update, or I manually download the new version, or some but not all downloads off of the web, I get this error message. C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

First off, when firefox trys to auto update, it fails. It tells me to try and download the new version from mozilla's site. When I try to download the new version I get this: (C:\Users\John\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.)
This is the same message I have been getting when I try to download other things off the net. (When I use other browsers to download I dont have this problem)

    Please help.
    It is getting worse
Adobe flash player is crashing. I already uninstalled and re installed the latest ver. Also it is hanging randomly.
    Please help.

  • What does this error message mean? "Blank Tab Multivariate Test Addon could not be installed because Firefox cannot modify the needed file."

I am running Firefox 6 Beta and have now recieved 2 popups about the Blank Tab Multivariate Test. I finally found info on how to install it. However, when I went to the page suggested and tried to install I got the above error message. I want to know how to solve this problem so I can participate in the test.

That means that the extension lacks the required <nowiki><em:unpack>true</em:unpack></nowiki> line in the file install.rdf to make sure that the file gets unpacked after installing.<br />
Firefox 4 and later no longer unpacks an extension automatically, but renames the XPI file to the ID of the extension and copies that file to the extensions folder in the Firefox Profile Folder.

  • I am using iPhoto version 9.6 and I can no longer get an email sent with a photo attached. I get an error message saying the email did not go through because the server did not reply. I can send the photo with Mail. Help!

I have upgraded to Yosemite and also updated the iPhoto application to version 9.6. I am no longer able to send a photo from iPhoto via email. I get an error message saying the server is not responding. But, when using the same server in Mail, I can attach the photo and send it. My wife is using the older version of iPhoto and it works fine.
I have checked the settings for the outgoing server, etc. and the Mail settings match those in iPhoto.
Could this be due to either the Yosemite upgrade or the iPhoto upgrade?

This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:
    https://appleid.apple.com
    Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
    Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).
    And...voila' (I hope)

  • Upgrade to 2.0 and Issues with Yahoo Mail

I just upgraded my iTouch to 2.0 ... and now I can't access my Yahoo mail anymore. Everything worked fine before the upgrade, but now, even though I've set up the correct email address and account in settings, I get the message: "Cannot get mail. The user name or password is incorrect." I've quadruple-checked it, it's all spelled correctly! If anyone has any advice, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Are you able to connect to the Internet through Safari correctly?
First, try resetting your network settings and then try to add the account to Mail: Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings
If that does not help, try changing your Yahoo password. See if it works with an alphanumeric password (one that has only letters and numbers).

  • Firefox 13.0.1 appears incompatible with Yahoo mail (process hog)

I have 2 MacBook pro 17s. Yesterday I upgraded to Firefox 13.0.1 in both of them. The newest one (about 2 months old) became extremely sluggish (20 minutes to send an email and took forever (several minutes) to switch between Firefox tabs). The old MacBook (2009 model) worked fine. Both have current versions of OSX Lion. I use Yahoo mail on the new machine but not on the old one and I realized that everything was fine until I opened Yahoo mail. Then the new machine just couldn't really do anything in Firefox. The dashboard would show Firefox running at about 98 or 99%.
Bottom Line: I installed Firefox 12.0 on the new machine and the problem immediatly disappeared. The machine ran fine and Yahoo mail & all Firefox tabs were fully functional & speedy.
Just to double check I installed Firefox 13.0.1 again and the machine stalled out as soon as I opened Yahoo mail. I went back to 12.0 & everything is fine.
I had worked w/ Apple tech support for many hours on 3 different occasions and pretty much anything that could be reset/ restarted was (no help). So I'm reasonably sure that this is a Firefox 13.0.1 problem.
Safari worked fine during all of my woes.

This can be caused by corrupted cookies.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file <i>cookies.sqlite</i> that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
