Firefox 5 hangs at launch on osx lion

This was happening before lion, but always with FF 5.0.1. Upon application launch, the browser seems to hang for 5-10 seconds before pages can load or the app is responsive to clicking. I don't know if it's because of the bookmark syncing working in the background or what. Problem persisted after upgrading to lion.

I've been having the same issue, and assume it's also the recent update.
How do I do what you did (replace the WebKit framework with a "vanilla" one)?

[[Basic Troubleshooting]] has a "clean reinstall" section at the end that does not require you to open Firefox.

IWeb Hangs at launch in Mountain Lion

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion ... when I launch iWeb ... it just hangs .... I can't open my domain ... help!

In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home()/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Firefox 5.0.1 on OsX Lion: big problems on popup (window.open)

I just updated OSX to the recent Lion. Firefox 5.0.1 have a big problem with EVERY POPUP invoked by
onclick="window.open(this.href,'win2','width=400,height=350,menubar=yes,resizable=yes'); return false;" in the a tag, with href correctly specified.
Ignores the widths and the heights (goes almost full screen, without bars) and the problem is that it doesn't load any page.... it remains blank!
It occurs on every joomla site having print and email icon on articles, or any other site that uses this kind of opening a popup.
UPDATE: discovered the problem. Firebug, latest beta build.

Not only on youtube, but everywhere: other video sites, browser games, etc.

If you have your original system disc, the Snow Leopard dvd also works. I would put that in and start up holding down the option key until you see the spinning gear. Let go of the key and when you see the volumes show up, select the DVD and start up from that.
Once it loads, go to Utilities in the menu bar and come down to Disk Utility. Open it and see if your hard disk show up. If so, click your hard disk and then click Verify Disk. Wait until it finishes. If it says the Disk needs to be repaired, repair the disk and see if that helps.
If it says no problems found, I would make sure you have a back up and reinstall Snow Leopard.
Hope this is clear and report back to me the results.

Mac OSX Lion only via the App Store

If Apple launches Mac OSX Lion only via the App Store (no CD), how do we have to install the Windows drivers on Bootcamp?

Long story short: Simply get CC for teams. At 500 bucks a year it's a steal and those 5 licenses in the base package (or was it 10 even?) cover all your computers, at least the 3 ones you mentioned. For system requirements refer to the individual product pages.

Just installed OSX Lion - now Safari is constantly hanging up....

I have in the last few days decided to install OSX Lion for my iMac. Now I'm having a consistent issue with Safari (and Firefox) hanging up - I have to keep re-starting my iMac - anyone else experienced this problem? Anyone with a possible solution?

Check whether there is a crash report:
Go to your Applications Folder and open your Utilities Folder. Open the application Console.
In the left-hand column, click on Crash Reporter.
Click on the small triangle under Crash Reporter in the l/h column and they will all be listed.
Scroll down to the latest Safari report and click on it.
Now click on the r/h column (which now only shows THAT crash report and then Command-a to copy it all.
Come back here and Command-v it to post it here!

My wordpress home page will not display any active information in Firefox 15 on Mac OSX Lion.

For some time now I have not been able to see the homepage of wordpress.com with full information i.e. stats, notifications, etc. I'm running Firefox 15 on Mac OSX Lion with the following settings and add-ons. I've tried disabling the various privacy add-ons one-by-one to no avail. Please help!

The only active thing I see on that page is the banner near the top which keeps changing: "For the cat pictures", "For the poet", etc. Do you not see that? I did not see any link for "Home". Try these pages:

Incidentally, it seems to me that you are using Mountain LIon, not Lion. Mac OS 10.8 is Mountain Lion.

Osx lion hangs when installing

Downloaded osx Lion yesterday and tried to install it on macbook pro 15" bought in Jan, and the progress bar hangs at the start and stayed all night without installation, although i have updated to the latest Snow Leopard etc...and followed all the steps before installation.

Firefox cannot install the updates on my Mac OSX Lion

Firefox tells me there is an update. I click install, but it just sticks at the downloading screen (for hours if I let it) and cannot download. This has been happening ever since I changed to Mac OSX Lion on the new MacBook Air.

Installed OSx Lion. Can't see my network user on launch

installed OSx Lion a few hours ago but on OSx launch I can't see my network user anymore.
Network user was appearing properly on Leopard.
Please help as I can't get access to our company network anymore.

I figured out the answer. unfortunately, the Belkin router I have does not support a HDD formatted in Mac OS. I guess I have to decide whether to stay with FAT32 for my netweork drive or get a new router...

When will you optimize Firefox for Mac OSX Lion?

Mac OSX Lion has hit the Mac App Store. It has several new features for Safari. The features are very cool, and I am hoping that Mozilla is planning on implementing similar features with Firefox. The main ones that I'm looking for is a better full screen mode and disappearing scroll bars.
