Firefox crashes, sometimes several times every time I use it.

It SEEMS to be connected with Hotmail which I have just started using as my main email. We have just changed from Tiscali to BT and we currently have both accessing our computers whilst we deal with the changeover. So my default email is tiscali and is downloaded via Thunderbird, but I am mainly using Hotmail now. Would it help if I cut Tiscali off altogether? Is it that Hotmail is not compatible with Firefox? Your help would be greatly appreciated as I am getting VERY frustrated with it!
When the crash box comes up after each crash, I put a comment in but it ALWAYS says "unable to submit your report" so that's not much help. So I have no crash IDs (see below)

I have the hotmail firefox crash problem too...and have not been offered a 'fix'...any ideas sent to you?

I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 now my phone constantly deletes all my contacts and takes days to download them from my iCloud again, constantly needs to be turned off and on sometimes several times to make a phone call, the scroll rarely works, is there anything I can do, the apple tech told me it was something I'd just have to get used to, my phone worked perfectly before the update.

Even if it is a hardware problem they should fix it regardless of warranty. If you buy a car and after 1.5 years the doors fall off due to a failure in their design and construction, do you think the car manufacturer could pull off what Apple is trying to do? Yes the car still delivers its primary objective of driving from A to B, but significant functionality has been lost due to their fault.
It is the same with this iPhone wifi problem. Apple are a disgrace, I have had significant Apple Hardware failures with my MacBook Pro and iPhone within 2 years of purchase. Pathetic quality.

    What kind of an error?

  • Help! my MacBookPro (Dual core Intel 2.6ghz) has begun to emulate a Windows device. Crashes serveral times a day ... sometimes several times an hour. Running 10.6.8. Any ideas?

Help! My MacBookPro (Intel dual-core 2.6ghz) running MacOS 10.6.8 has decided to emulate a Windows device ... crashes several times a day ... sometimes even several times an hour. Also seems to be running significantly hotter. Any ideas?

Heat can be a big problem.
Check the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive in Disk Utilty by highlighting the Drive & looking at the bottom of the window.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Have you blown the dust out lately? Let it cool for an hour & see if you can get these...
Get Temperature Monitor to see if it's heat related...

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Also, open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem for clues.
Open Activity Monitor, Show:>All Processes, sort on CPU%, see if anything using too much CPU% when this happens, click on Memory tab, do you have many Pageouts?
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

  • After upgrading to firefox 4.0, why does it have to update atleast daily, sometimes several times a day

I cant help but notice the security updates on a daily basis because it stops whatever Im doing to download the update, like I said it happens on some days several times. I click to download & the screen never goes away. It downloads & states in order to install them it must re-start. I do then on most occasions after it comes back up it states its connecting again to the server for additional updates. by then I upset when it wants to download again.

    Please do the following.<br><br>
#Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and download the installation file to your desktop.<br><br>
#Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box'').<br><br>
#Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox<br><br>
#Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.<br>
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.<br><br>
After you complete the installation, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update where necessary.

  • Firefox Crashes all the time

I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled removed all the plug ins I also made sure that I deleted the programs folder and everything. I even uninstalled and reinstalled adobe flash and it is still crashing all the time.

    Extensions
Problematic extensions may cause crashes. Start in Firefox Safe Mode and click "Continue in Safe Mode". This will help determine if an extension is causing the problem, since Safe Mode disables all extensions.
Note: If Firefox also crashes in Firefox Safe Mode, then an extension is not the problem and you should skip to the next section.
If Firefox no longer crashes when you run in Firefox Safe Mode, go to the Add-ons Manager Extensions list, click the Disable button for every extension, and restart Firefox normally. If the crashes no longer occur when you run Firefox in normal mode with all extensions disabled, one of your extensions was causing Firefox to crash. Try re-enabling them one at a time, to find the problem extension.
If disabling all extensions and restarting Firefox in normal mode doesn't resolve the crash problem:
In Firefox 4 and above, Firefox Safe Mode also disables hardware acceleration, so the problem could be a video device or driver issue (see below). Try unchecking the option to use hardware acceleration in Firefox ("Tools -> Options -> Advanced / General").
Firefox Safe Mode also disables the JavaScript JIT compiler. In Firefox 4 or above, try setting javascript.options.methodjit.* preferences to false in about:config ( see below).

  • I have downloaded Firefox 4.0 several times and after a short amount of time (days) it reverts back to 3.6.16. Why does it happen and how do I prevent it from happening again?

The Firefox 4.0 on my laptop reverts back to 3.6.16. This has happened several times. Why does this happen and/or how do I prevent it from happening again?

Thanks for the link. I just downgraded to the absolute shtfest that's 4.0. I WAS just fuming about how gawdawful this "new" version is, but after wasting so much time trying to sort thru all the issues caused by this 4.0 downgrade (past updates have always been seamless and troublefree - not so for this shtfest!) I'm flat-out RAGING!!! Fortunately the laptop still has 3.6.xx running - it's the LAST version of Firefox it will EVER see. I switched to Firefox so many years ago to get away from the insanity and frustration of Explorer - if this 4.0 crapshoot is the "future" of Firefox, then the incompetent nimrods responsible for it know where they can ram it. I'm starting the search for a new browser now - so long Firefox, it's been fantastic while it lasted, but you've gone and screwed the pooch, you've ruined a superb browser!
I'll attempt a reload of 3.6.xx on the desk machine, and if successful I'll run it till it drops, or I find a suitable replacement browser, but 4.0 won't be coming back - GOOD RIDDANCE!!!

  • Pages not loading in firefox unless refreshed several times but loads in other browsers not an issue of firewall malware or ipv6

a week ago firefox suddenly stopped loading pages unless refreshed several times but loads in other browsers, not an issue of firewall malware or ipv6 I've tried all that I uninstalled and reinstalled also. I also tried disabling my addons.

    Hey man,
If I'd had that problem and done things that you'd done and seen no results. I'd delete FF again but this time fully - clean the registry as well. Then I'd remove java environment and everything related to it, sdk, jre etc...Reboot the PC and reinstall the newest version of FF, then download the latest versions of java platforms, sdk etc... and reinstall the as well.
    Hope this helps,
    LD

  • I can't open version 4 of Firefox despite restarting several times. Why?

I was installing Firefox updates when Firefox asked me if I wanted to download and install Version 4. I downloaded the file, saved it and ran it. Each time I try to open Firefox it says: Your computer needs to be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?
After rebooting several times, the problem is still there.

Check that you still have the profile that is listed as Default=1 in the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/profiles.ini_file profiles.ini]
If profiles.ini is there, but the profile is missing then trash the profiles.ini file and let Firefox create a new default profile.

  • My toolbar has completely disappeared. I still have the back arrows on the far left, but everything else is just ... gone. I've tried stopping Firefox and restarting several times, but nothing is changing. All the toolbars are checked in the view menu.

  • Intermittent Uverse Outages Happening Several Times a Week, Sometimes Several Times a Day

Hi. Pretty much every day (but not every single day), and several times a day, our AT&T Uverse service goes out for 60 seconds or so -- everything, including cable, broadband, and telephone is affected. For example, it's happened three times today. This has been happening for about a month or so. When it happens, our computers' browsers bring up an AT&T/Motorola Diagnostics page. Lately, the message has been saying "Warning: DSL Failed to Connect," but in the past, it's been a little different. Can you help?

Just taking a stab here but do you have IPv6 enabled? Many of us had a problem with our RG rebooting throughout the week when IPv6 was enabled (which is the default setting). Disabling IPv6 has resolved that issue for me and some others. If you are using the NVG-589, you can change this setting by going to Home Network menu, then Configure menu on the router.
