Firefox is installed twice in 'program and features'

I installed 27.0 from 26.0. Basically i updated it through the setup. When i saw the list of installed programs in my Control Panel , there were two instances of the 'Mozilla Firefox installed'. One was the firefox 26.0 and the other 27.0. What does that mean? When i try uninstalling the older one the newer one too gets uninstalled.

You could also try cleaning up your registry by using glary utilities. It does have a registry fixer as well as some other utilities for uninstalling programs you might want to look at.
Just go to http://ninite.com/ then in the middle column under utilities choose Glary. Then choose get installer at the bottom, then if you have the option to just run it or save then run. This will set up Glary for you without any interaction and will NOT install any toolbars, or any garbage like that as well

I uninstalled Firefox, and now it will not let me install it. It shows it as being installed in the Programs and Features folder. I highlight it and click on Uninstall and it does nothing. Is there a cleaner that will get rid of the old Firefox program?

5.0 shows installed on ff help. Programs and features shows only 3.6.8. When I try to download 5.0 computer says it must restart to finish installation of another ff. Restart has no effect. Looks like I am stuck on 3.6.8. Please help.

This computer will not update to 5.0. I have tried to download and install 5.0 for many weeks. My OTHER computer updated fine. When I try to install 5.0 it say to restart to finish installation of another firefox. Restart does not change anything.
I click on ff help, about ff and it says 5.0 is installed. I look on programs and features and only ff 3.6.8 is listed. I have tried clean ups, update java, plugins and stuff like that with no change to this issue.

Should firefox be on my firewall's allowed programs and features list

With the release of versions 27-30, Firefox has been opening web pages very slowly - so much so that I have reverted back to using IE 11. I have been trying every "fix" that has been suggested in the various forums - including creating a new profile, resetting Firefox, reinstalling Firefox, making changes in the about:config, etc. - to no avail.
In my search for a solution to the problem I came across a post that recommended making sure [my] firewall isn't causing a problem - it suggested that I remove Firefox from the list of allowed programs and to let the firewall ask for permission to allow Firefox the next time I launched it.
When I finally found the list I discovered that Firefox was not on it. Further research lead me to articles where users were getting "Server not found" error messages, and the recommended fix was to add Firefox to the list. All this did was confuses me.
Since I am able to connect to the internet, all-be-it very slowly, Firefox must be getting past the firewall. It should be noted that Internet Explorer is not on the list either and I have no problem with it.
This raises the question as to whether or not Firefox needs to be on the allowed list. Can Firefox not being on the firewall's allowed programs and features list slow Firefox down and if so why?
If I'm going to make a change to my system I want to make an informed change.

There is a great variation between different security products. If yours does not prompt you for permission to let different programs access the internet, then you probably do not need to worry about that particular issue.
To test how Firefox runs "uncustomized" on your system, could you do a two-minute experiment?

When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button on July21. I have tried to just install the new version of itunes from the apple website, it looks like it downloads but after 5 minutes at the end of the install it says 'old version of itunes cannot be uninstalled, please contact support.'?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

No Uninstaller For iCloud In Win 7 Programs and Features

When I Look In Programs and Features In Windows 7 I Cannot Find iCloud. I Also Looked Under The Programs Folder And Did Not Find It At:

I Even Used Glary Utilites To Try To Find It And Even Still Did Not Find It.
I Only Reason iCloud Is On My PC Is I Was Installed With Apple Software Update.

How do I uninstall an older version that still appears in "Programs and Features"

I have recently updated to Firefox version 3.6.13. In the programs and features applet in my Control Panel, (WIN 7 Ultimate 64bit) version 3.6.10 still shows up as being installed. If I uninstall version 3.6.10, will my current version installation be gone too, as the uninstall wants to do so in the same folder as the newer version?

Yes, uninstalling that version will remove the current Firefox 3.6.13 version. You only have that old entry of that previous version in "Programs and Features" left. It sometimes (?) happens that the updater doesn't remove or update the uninstall keys in the Windows registry. You can remove that orphaned registry key yourself if you are comfortable with editing the registry, otherwise leave it or try a registry cleaner program.

Pushing out msi to clients doesnt upgrade existing version in "Programs and Features" win7 64

I have created a Firefox msi and when I push it out to my network clients it doesn't seem to upgrade the existing version in "Programs and Features". Is there a switch I can add to manually remove a previous version or upgrade? If i remove the previous version in "Programs and Features" there is still the latest version in "Programs and Features", the previous version uninstalls the executable but leaves the Mozilla folder with some files until I also remove the latest version with "Programs and Features". Basically if I install Firefox 29 on the client, then install Firefox 30 via MSI, "Programs and Features" shows both versions installed, but both versions share the same folder location and executable?

There is no msi generated by Mozilla. This will have to to do with the installation configuration. Does it overwrite? Does it not? Overwritting will remove all existing profiles. However updating may not, but this is not something that I am an expert in. You can also try the enterprise mailing list that works with 24esr.

How To Uninstall Photoshop CC (2014) from Creative Cloud (not listed in Program and Features)

My membership for Creative Cloud has expired and I want to uninstall Photoshop CC 2014 from my system.
The ONLY Adobe application listed under 'Program and Features' (Windows 8.1) is the Adobe Creative Cloud, however when I uninstall that all the Adobe Photoshop and Bridge system files remain. When double clicking on photoshop.exe (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\photoshop.exe) I get the Creative Cloud 'Renew your Subscription' screen. After then rebooting and reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop, it shows that Photoshop CC, Photoshop CC (2014), and Bridge CC are installed and are all 'up to date'
I have searched everywhere on my system for photoshop uninstall files without success.
Please advise how to delete/uninstall all applications installed by Adobe Creative Cloud when the applications are not listed in the Control Panel 'Programs and Features'

The only Adobe software listed under 'Program and Features' ('Add or Remove Programs' for Windows XP users) is the Creative Cloud Desktop program itself and when uninstalling that, it does NOT uninstall Photoshop CC (2014) or Adobe Bridge CC. When selecting uninstall for Creative Cloud, no Change options are provided to remove Photoshop CC. Uninstalling Creative Cloud Desktop leaves all Photoshop and Bridge system files intact.
Again, I want to uninstall Photoshop CC that was installed by Creative Cloud Desktop and is NOT listed under Program and Features.

Trying to uninstall CS5.5 Master Collection, but programs don't appear in standard Windows Programs and Features location

I'm uninstalling CS5.5 after deactivation in order to gain space for CC, but am having problems doing so. I'm on 64-bit Windows 7 and installed from the Master Collection disks on both my desktop and laptop - neither one has any of the Master Collection programs showing up in the standard uninstall location, which is the only recommended Adobe uninstall method.
If I run the original install disk, it recognises the existing CS5.5 programs, but only gives the option of installing further program options rather than uninstalling existing ones - is there any way to use the disks to uninstall programs?

Fixed it - used the disk to reinstall one of the existing CS5.5 apps, and then the Adobe Master Collection showed up as an item in the Programs and Features location, which I could select and uninstall all apps.

Select option for CS6/ creative cloud and select option for Photoshop CC , if listed.
If you are getting up to date error , you can also try:

How do I uninstall Adobe CS6 Design Standard from my machine? Program is not listed in "Programs and Features".

I have Adobe CS6 Design Standard Installed on my machine and I now have a new machine that I need to put this on. I am trying to uninstall it from my old machine because I need to have the "license" available. However, the adobe programs are not listed in my Windows 7 uninstall dialog box. Photoshop CC not listed in "Programs and Features" of Windows 8.1

Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Bridge CC and Adobe Extension Manager CC are not listed in Control Panel section "Programs and Features" of Windows 8.1. Only Adobe Creative Cloud Manager is listed. I have to install Photoshop CC because the current update failed with error code U44M1P7. The advice of Support is to remove Photoshop and reinstall it because I have no other options to solve this update error. Revo Uninstaller Pro and Ashampoo Uninstaller 5 also do not show Adobe CC programs in their list of programs. What can I do to solve this problem?

How do I uninstall FF if it is not in Programs and Features?
Also how is that even possible? In 20 years and hundreds of programs I've never heard of a program not being listed by Windows.
