Firefox randomly crashes on OSX

I don't know if it's a Firefox update or OSX update, but I started getting random crashes. Here are a few links to the reports:

They all say

I tried googling that but I just get results to other crash reports. Could anyone help me out and see if they can tell what the issue is? (I already checked that the plugins are all up to date)

Firefox 12 crashes my OSX 10.7.4 system, even when Firefox is running in Safe Mode

Firefox 12 crashes unexpectedly. The whole OSX system hangs for unknown behaviors, i.e. opening new tab, selecting link, refreshing page, changing tab. It is non-specific or non-apparent. I also have frequent spinning color disks...sometimes they don't go away and the next mouse click hangs the system necessitating a hard reset.
My configuration:
Macbook Air, OSX 10.7.4, Firefox 12
I have one add-in: One Password 3.8.19. I have disabled this by running Firefox in safe mode but this has not helped.
My typical open application set is: Outlook 2011, Mail and Firefox (with multiple pinned app tabs). Sometimes I have VMWare Fusion 4.1.2 open running a Windows 7 VM but this is not correlated to the crashes.
I was using Trend Micro Smart Surfing for Mac and thought this might be the cause so I stopped running it. This had no positive impact so I conclude that it was not part of the problem.
My system knows it has crashed since following a hard reset, it reopens my previously open windows but no crash report is created or offered.
Safari does not crash the system.

I originally posted that, if you are able to run in Firefox [[Safe Mode]] but disabling your single Firefox extension doesn't help, the problem could be hardware acceleration, which you can turn off in your Firefox [[Options window - Advanced panel|Advanced preferences]], General tab. Ref: [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
However, after re-reading your post, you said that the problem still occurs in Firefox Safe Mode. If Firefox is crashing or closing unexpectedly, there are some possible solutions here:

Firefox randomly crashes every 5 to 10 minutes (mswsock.ddl)

As the title says, Firefox has been crashing every few minutes for the last couple days. It doesn't seem to matter how many tabs I have open or what websites I'm on either. I've tried updating, running in Safe Mode, and re-installing with no effect. Below are the last several crash reports I've gotten. They all mention a file called "mswsock.dll" and Google suggested that it might be infected, but a full system scan with Avast and MSE both came up clean so I'm pretty lost.

That crash is caused by ghostery.

and update the addon (as it is out of date, that is the problem) Through Firefox => Addons => Tool button => Check for updates

The current version of Ghostery is 5.0.3, older versions cause firefox to crash.

Firefox randomly crashes once or twice a day

Ever since a recent update in April (I forget which version) Firefox crashes randomly ever 2-5 days. Prior to the update Firefox almost never crashed on me.
The crash reports don't seem to have anything in common:

Firefox random crashes

I use KDEmod 4.2.3 and Gnome 2.26 -- but Firefox crashes nonetheless. It seems to be at random. With Gmail and facebook open - it crashes. With simple 1.0-sites -- it crashes. Few fans open? Many fans open -- still crashes. The only addon I use at the moment is flashblock. There is no particular content that is troublesome; youtube works, other flash as well. Java is fine. If a site makes FF crash - I just reload and it works.
Now. Where to start? I have no clue ;(
Apart from that -- everything works. Oh well ... Intel-driver is troublesome - but that's a whole other story.
This happened - for Firefox (Gran Paradiso) around 3.0.5 and above.

have you tried with the firefox 3.5.tar.bz2 version?
i'm running that and is faster and consume less resources
first of all do this
pacman -R firefox
next, download the firefox-3.5.tar.bz2
uncompress it on your home and as root do this
mv $HOME/firefox /opt/
then as root
ln -s /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox
and now enjoy the new version...:cool:

Firefox randomly crashes NVIDIA 230M driver

I am truly exasperated with these crashes, which now happen twice or three times per session (I am using a Vaio laptop with the latest NVIDIA driver for my 230M chipset).
This is how I have proceeded, so far with no effect.
1) I altered the Nvidia Power Management setting to 'Prefer Maximum Performance', as advised on other threads. No change. 2) I deleted my entire profile (including settings) and reinstalled FF14. No change. 3) I deleted FF14 and re-installed FF13. No change. 4) My next step will be to repeat step 2 for FF13.
This is even worse than the video problems with Flash a month or two ago. I am seriously considering junking Firefox after many years of happy travelling. The thought of going over to Chrome fills me with horror, but it may be the only solution.

Certainly that helped when I was running FF13 and had Flash problems a month ago. I would imagine it might help here too. Everything seems incredibly laggy right now. I will take up your suggestion and if there are any further driver crashes I will send in the report.

Safari and FireFox Randomly Crashing

The browsers will just crash on no specific websites and at completely random times. It does not even have to be loading anything when this happens. For example, I could go to google and walk away from my computer and when I come back I will get a message saying the browser has crashed. I have repaired the permissions and deleted the preferences, yet the problem still remained. I have tried running Safari in a test account and there were no crashes, however, I only tried it once for an hour or two.
I believe this problem has started sometime in the frame of this month.

I will go one farther.. I even have replaced two harddrives on my Intel and PPC G5 computers to see if this was a drive issue. It happened 48 hours after I re-installed the OS X and updated it to 10.4.8... Every report error says the same thing.. WINDOWSERVER.. is at falt.. I have send an email to Apple regarding their latest update. I checked to see if this issue was happening on my other computers that were not updated yet and the answer is no. So it tells me that it is with the updates 10.4.7 and or 10.4.8 that is causing the issue..

Firefox 4 crash mac osx when it exits

I just got a new Macbook Pro 17 inch. I used migrate to move Firefox and settings from 13 inch macbook to this one. I'm on latest version of Firefox (4). When I exit Firefox, its resets the resolution from the normal 1920 x 1200 to 976 x 600 (called 'supported resolution') and the on-screen pixels are giant. Its so bad, when logoff, the logon screen (shows the users on the computer) is still in this very low resolution. And then the next user to logon is stuck at this resolution too. I have have removed Firefox and reinstalled, no lock. This is a serious issue I cannot seem to resolve.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

Firefox keeps crashing at seemingly random and infrequent times on different websites each time. One moment it will be fine, then without reason it will crash continuously

For a good few months now Firefox has quite frequently been crashing on me for no reason that i can distinguish. I have attempted to fully re-install Fire-Fox with a fresh install and tried sorting out the addons but nothing seems to help. I also ensure to run it in administrator mode for windows 7 but again, to no success. Basically i could be browsing the web perfectly fine and it will randomly crash on a website, what websites it crashes on changes all the time, some times it even crashes on my google homepage constantly and often only a computer restart will sort it out. It will then run fine for a short while before inevitably Firefox will crash again. If i could find out whats causing these crashes i could then work on stopping them. Firefox Keeps Crashing at random times

What I have done but doesn't solve my problems:
- I have create a new profile with firefox.exe -p
- I have used Safe Mode
- I have reset my firefox
- I am using the latest Firefox
- I am using the latest Flash
- I have disabled the hardware accelerator in Firefox
What is my problem?
My firefox keeps crashing at random times, I think I got the crashed when I load a Java thing in a web page or etc.

Firefox randomly just closes on me. It's not a crash, at least not a normal crash, because the Crash Report does not come up. It's just one moment it is open and the next it is now.
On top of that when it does do this, and at random other times as well, I am not able to re-open it for several minutes or I have to close the actual process through task manager in order for it to open again.

I'm sorry but I think you didn't get the problem right. Firefox just unexpectedly closes. It does not crash. There are no crash reports.

Firefox experiences random crashes which persist even in safe mode (linux + gnome)

Since maybe version 29, my Firefox has become less stable than before and started to crash for seemingly no reason; sometimes it crashed shortly after started with few tabs on, and sometimes it crashed when many tabs were open or (not constantly) with music playing. In short I cannot find an exact pattern by which crashes are triggered. Only one thing is certain, once it broke down, it kept crashing on every restart (even in safe mode or with the user preference directory reset by a complete removal), until a reboot.
I checked some threads, where people suggest that such random crashes may be caused by a flawed RAM, but I feel it unlikely because in this same system no other software (including Chromium) have shown similar problem, and on Windows the same computer Firefox (v31) has been rather stable.
Although it didn't happen frequently, the need to reboot the computer before Firefox gets usable again is really annoying. I appreciate a lot if anyone could give some hints, thanks.

desktop: Gnome 3.10.2
cpu: AMD C-60 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics × 2
