Fixed iphone glass screen, resulted in white screen after assembling it back together?

i've had a cracked screen on my iphone 3Gs for a fairly long time now and i decided to replace it. It's been working perfectly with the cracked screen and after i had replaced the glass screen and assembling it back all together, i have a white screen on the front, doesn't seem to go away and i've searched online for all types of solutions such as holding down the home and power button for 10secs etc but none seem to work, i came to an conclusion thinking its hardware? can anyone help me please, would be much appreciated. thanks
note: i intend to take it to the apple store as my last option
Kind Regards

That should have been the first thnig that you should have done.  If you had done so, Apple could have done an out-of-warranty exchange for you.  Now that you've tried to fix it, and failed, Apple won't extend the exchange to you.  I think that you might be able to sell your iPhone "as is" to a techno-tweek, or you can use it as a door stop.

  • Charge symbol with arrow pointing to iTunes symbol appears on iPhone 4 screen after updating.  What does this mean?

What do these symbols mean on iPhone 4 screen after updating
Charge symbol with arrow pointing to iTunes symbol?...

If you do not have a computer with iTunes running on it, then make an Apple Genius appointment at your nearest Apple Store, or Authorized Apple Support center. If you do not have one of those near by, a friend with iTunes installed.

  • Speaker wire cut, want to fix myself - which is the best way to connect the wires back together?

Some how, one of the wires going to my left-center speaker got cut in half. Not sure if it was the vacuum or my dog........anyway, I want to fix it, so - would you recommend butt-connectors, soldering the wire back together, or some other method?
Also, does it matter which wires connect back together? The wires are identicle (smooth covering) and both wires appear to be copper........ I was just wondering if anything would happen if you were to connect the wires back together, but backwards.
Please let me know so I can get this fixed quickly.

Go to the above link and listen to the Pink Noise Monaural and the Pink Noise with Reversed Polarity tests. When a speaker is of opposite polarity, that means that the wires are connected backwards (positive to black and negative to red). If this happens, when your speaker should move out it'll move in and vice versa. This makes the sound seem to come from everywhere but the speaker. Play the tests to see what I mean.
If you solder your wires back together and notice this problem with your speaker, just reverse the connection to the speaker itself and you should be okay.

  • Iphone 4 home button not working, called never fixed, then cracked screen before bringing it back again, will they blame the cracked screen if i bring it back?

I bought an iPhone 4 less than a year ago, then one day the home button randomly stopped working, I bought the warranty so I decided to call in and see what was wrong with it. The girl said that restoring the phone would correct the problem which it did. But it is only a temporary fix, it happens more often now. So I was meaning to call in soon, but the other day my phone fell out of my pocket IN CASE from a foot height and cracked the screen. I nearly threw up. All the years I have had a phone I have never cracked or broken one, strongest screen my ***. Anyway, if I contact them again now will they fix the home button problem? or will they say that the cracked screen is obviously the cause of the home button not working? which it is not!! I don't care about the screen being cracked its not on the actual screen just on the side so its irrelevant to me. Plus I heard it is outrageosly pricey to replace.

Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.
    Regards.

  • IPhone glass screen shattered

    Hiya,
Two days ago I slipped my phone from my pocket in effort to get a phone call. To my surprise the front glass is shattered badly. I can see the screen and touch screen works perfectly fine but its just the glass that's shattered. I've done some search and found out that apple had actually replaced some customers phones which had shattered glasses. So I tried my luck at local store. The dude just refused it straight away and said its an accidental damage.
He offered me £140 for just replacing the glass which would only take 5-10 minutes in store. The amount of money apple is charging is ridiclious for just replacing a glass when the screen and touch system works fine. Anyway I tried calling my insurance company and they also want to rip me off by claiming £100 as an excess for iphone 4.
I'm stuck in delma whether to get it done from apple or from my insurance?? My insurance assured me I would retain apple warranty as they are verified and certified apple products expert.
Can anyone suggest a cheaper option? I live in east london in essex near ilford. Someone who could do the job properly plus cheaper but great!
    Thanks in advance

Your options are limited. Accidental damage is not covered under warranty or Apple Care. If your "insurance" are "verified and certified apple products expert" then the charge through them should be the same as directly through Apple. If it isn't, I'd question their authorization to service the iPhone specifically. Apple authorized does not necessarily apply to ALL Apple products.
Just get it done through Apple so there's no question as to warranty. You can probably have it done cheaper at a 3rd party service shop, but your warranty will be gone.  It's already gone, so that may not matter to you.

  • Fixed iphone 4 screen, now it won't restore or turn on correctly (PLEASE LOOK)

Ok I fixed the digitizer on my screen, and it's been like 2 weeks since it's been on and working. Anyways, I plugged it in, and after a couple of minutes it turns on, let's me unlock it, then says connect to itunes, well Itunes doesnt read the cord on any computer, and yet my charger shows its picking up the charge (99%)
When I put it into recovery and dfu mode the power button works, but not to turn on, will just flash the apple logo for a couple seconds, turn off, repeat. But Itunes does read the iphone when I put it in recovery and dfu mode but when I try to restore I get error 21
I turned off my virus protection and tried to restore like it says for error 21 and it still gives me the error
any reason that the power button doesnt turn it on but works for dfu/recovery mode? Also how do I fix error 21 (also updated to 10.5.1). I need to get this restored to work!

Hardware fails. It's a fact of life. It's also easy to damage sensitive electronics. If it's not a software problem, it's a hardware problem. You opened up your phone and replaced the display. It stands to reason that either whatever happened that broke the screen also damaged something else, or you inadvertantly damaged something else when you opened it up.
I fail to see how that makes Apple "money grubbing". Even Apple doesn't repair iPhones at the stores. They send them off to a facility where they have the necessary conditions and equipment to do it right.
Perhaps you should have just paid the out of warranty replacement fee and gotten a replacement phone directly from Apple. Since you opened it yourself, that option is no longer available to you.

  • Pink hue on iPhone 5 screen after iOS 7?

I did not notice this before updating to iOS 7 this afternoon, but there is now a very visible and distracting pink color on 90% of my screen. The very outside 1/4 inch is normal. I'm not sure if this is a long time problem and only just discovered with all the stark white in iOS 7 or what. There is a thread on macrumors forums with a few others who have had the same problem. I made an appointment at the local Apple Store this evening and the genius said it was a "feature" of iOS 7, which is rediculous, but they stood their ground. There were only a couple other iPhones in the store that had iOS 7 and she said they all displayed the same purple/pink hue on screens with white backgrounds. I did see one other that had the same issue, the others were "in the back". The display iPhones still all had iOS 6 and I didn't see the pink tinge on them. It also doesn't show up on my wife's iP5 (still on iOS 6).
I just can't believe this is intential. Anyone else having this problem? Not sure what to do.
It is most prominant when viewing the screen at a slight angle, depending on the light in the room. Very distracting on web pages, calendar, notes, reminders, etc.

The newone how old it is? It is a age related iusse?
Yes I'm under warranty because I bought the iphone directly to the Apple Store (2 warranty years).
Probably they will propose to change the display.....

  • Transparent diagonal line on iPhone 6 screen after contact with water

I had recently dropped my phone in water on accident and now there's a transparent, diagonal line across the bottom right part of the screen. When the phone is off, I can't see the line but only when it's on. After a while, some of it starts to fade away but, it's never completely gone. I'm not too sure what I should do to fix this, could anyone help? I have an iPhone 6. Thanks and sorry, I'm new to this. I'm not sure what category to put this under

You really need to take it to the Apple Store and have them take a look at it. We cannot diagnose the extent of water damage that may or may not have been done over the internet....

  • Weird! RAID icons still in the boot screen after restored them back to norm

I created a software RAID 0 with two 250GB hard disks by using Disk Utility. Installed OSX on them. And I restored them to two separated disks yesterday, Installed OSX on one of them, formated another one for media storage. But weird thing is when I press "alt"key into boot screen, they are still there! Now I have five boot icons- two RAID disks, one OSX, one backup OSX and one for windows. What is wrong with that?? Anyone have the same problem? PLZ help!!!

Thanks BUT problem solved! I reformated the disks using "zero-out" option in Disk Utility and guess what? The stupid icons disappeared!:D "zero-out" formating will take longer than normal formating, about 40 minutes for a 250GB HD.
