Flash "arrangement" on webpage

Hello, I have a popup menu made with javascript and css. Its
a 'div' with display:none, and the javascript changes its display
state. South of that I have a flash movie (fla). I need to move the
flash movie 'behind' the popup menu. Right now the menu pops under
the flash movie. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.

  • Problem with Flash video in webpage

I've encoded a number of videos in the FLV format(using both
Flash Video encoder and Quicktime), using standard preset settings,
inserted in webpage using dreamweaver standard - Insert Media -
Flash Video. When I try to play the videos, online or testing in
browser, the video does not play the whole way through. It'll play
15 sec into the video and then stop, although it seems to have some
of the rest of the video if you play around with the controller.
I've looked on the Flash encoding forum (other people have the same
problem) and looked on the site for more info but cannot find
    any.

Have you checked to see if the FLV is the same size on the
    server as your
    local copy?

  • Flash Video to webpage

    Hello all,
I wasn't sure where to post this inquiry, but figured I would
    try here.
Anyways, I have a windows media video that I would like to
have users play through on my webpage - and then after the video is
completed, it would open a webpage automatically in a new window.
After looking through the web I can't find a way to do this,
but it seems like it would be something that could be done. I have
converted my windows video to flash format, embedded it on my stage
and am ready to add action script. I know how to make the video a
button so that users would click on the video and then it would
open a page, but I was hoping there would be a way that it could do
    this automatically.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

WWD FLV Player is pretty nice.
It's compact, easy to set-up. Read the installation.html that comes with it.

  • Problems inserting flash movie into webpage

I am trying to insert 2 different flash movies on one webpage
One is a banner made in flash cs4 that works fine.
The other is a movie that I encoded with flash cs4 from a m4v file. When i test this file using the flash player on my computer everything works fine.
When i try to play on the webpage it shows there is flash object in dreamweaver but is blank in webbrowser.(right clicking shows there is flash there but nothing loads)
I have managed to get the movie working on a completly blank html file except that there are no controls (controls work fine in the flash player on computer)
As far as I can deduce it's not the html file because one swf file works ok
It's not how i'm inserting it onto the page because dreamweaver is doing it for me(and including the nessecary javascript etc)
It's not the movie because that works in the flash player on it's own.
    So i'm stumped
    any ideas guys?
(if it's any help the webpage it's on is www.csdrummer.co.uk , click on top right image on sidebar, has play button, under navigation)
    Thanks
    Jamie

I'm sorry I missunderstood the post from earlier. If I add the flv file in dreamweaver and upload the corresponding swf all works well but the flv file is 45mb which is a  bit large for a 3 min video.
What i would like to do is turn this into a swf file. But this is where the problem is happening. THe swf when i export from flash wont work, comes up in the browser as doesn't load

  • CS3 Flash Movies in Webpages Problem

I know how to make a generic flash movie player and all that
in flash cs3 with their tutorials/quick import, but i cant quite
    seem how to find this:
When you say embed a youtube video to myspace, or online they
don't auto load, instead they seem to have a swf button with the
big play icon sitting there till you hit it, then it loads the
    animation and autoplays.
What coding does this? Is there a tutorial?
Someone told me to just do this but didn't know the coding on
how to do it or any tutorials online to do it:
-If you do not want the Flash file to load until a user
clicks on a play button, take a screen capture of the first frame
    of your movie.
-Put it on your html page and then make a button that looks
like your play button in the movie.
-Put this button in a DIV and then place the DIV where you
want it on your screen capture image.
-Have this button replace the image with the Movie SWF file.
Basically what you are trying to do is trick the user into
thinking it's the SWF file, but only loading the SWF file when the
user clicks on the fake play button.
    Any Ideas?

you should be able to stop the playback of either the swf
file timeline itself or a video - depending on which you are using.
if it on the timeline (a regular swf file) place a - stop(); -
method on the first frame - then place a graphic 'over the top' of
everything that is a button instance - then you would code a
handler for the button, that a) removes the button, and b) calls
the timeline to start using the play(); method.
if you are streaming in a FLV video, you will need to turn
off the autoplay property, and then create a similar button, and
use the play() method of the FLVPlayback component class.
either way it's going to be easier than constructing all that
other stuff and the JS to go along with it.

  • Flash and webpages

I have some flash content embedded in my web page. I notice
that my drop down menus goes behind the flash content. what can i
do about that without re arranging my webpage....
the adobe.com home has the perfect example of what Im trying
    to achieve.
    Thanks in advance....

One example of this problem occurring is when clicking on the pronunciation buttons on this page: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/blackberry_1?q=blac kberry.
Click the torn page(Compatibility View mode) in the One Box.  When using I.E.9, if a site has problems with Flash Player, always try the Compatibility View mode first.

  • Is it possible to save a Flash video from a webpage?

So you can't right / ctrl click and save as, but is there any other way of saving Flash videos from webpages? Or would that conflict with what Flash was designed to do? (I'm thinking that perhaps publishers want to control and monitor viewing of their content, rather than release it for uncontrolled redistribution. Fair enough.)
As someone looking at getting into publishing Flash content, is there any way for me to enable viewers to download content? I haven't got to the Publishing for Web chapter in my Flash book yet, so maybe I'll learn all about this soon enough...
...though any input would be appreciated.

Yay it worked after a bit of trial and effort (was holding buttons Dow too long).  Thanks so much for your help

  • Printing a webpage from within Flash without opeining it

Is it possible to print from within a Flash movie ,a webpage
from another site, without actually opening that site.
Example: I make a print button within Flash, I click it and
it prints www.yahoo.com, but it actually never opens www.yahoo.com,
I will never see www.yahoo.com on the screen.
    Is this possible?

  • Arranging webpages in sub-folders

    Hello All,
I am working on a JSF application, where i want to arrange my webpages in sub-folders and corresponding beans in respective packages. So the hierarchy for my webpages should be something like : Web Pages > ui and the ui folder will again have subfolders like : reference, common, config etc. The corresponding beans will be put in the package: testproject > ui > reference, common, config etc.
The problem however is Netbeans adds getter methods for every bean in the bean classes. for example:
    protected SessionBean getui$common$SessionBean() {
    return (SessionBean)getBean("ui$common$SessionBean");
Obviously i don't want Netbeans to generate this code. Can anyone please suggest me the solution/workaround for this?
I know arranging my pages in this way will not allow me to use the design view. But i am anyway can not use design view as i am using Ajax4jsf library in my project.
I would very much appreciate if someone can help me on this...

Iam new to web designing and please help me
how to insert a flash into the webpage directly without
    embedding the flash
that is without using <embed> tag so that page becomes
flash itself otherwise we have to click to activate the flash
    content

  • Firefox sporadically won't display flash embedded within a web page.

I have Fiorefox 28.0, running on a Mac with Mavericks 10.9.2. Sporadically, Firefox won't display an embedded flash video. I tried running Firefox in Safe Mode (all add-ons disabled). Same thing occurs - won't display the embedded flash on some webpages.
Here is an example webpage in which this problem occurs:
    http://www.deadline.com/2014/04/nbcs-jimmy-fallon-and-seth-meyers-welcome-stephen-colbert-to-cbs-video/
I couldn't determine how to attach a file of a screen grab or I would have done so.
    Thanks.

I can't tell how far the player gets in loading. All I see is a blank white block of space where the player would normally be loaded. I used the term 'embedded' as that seemed the correct term to use. If incorrect, that's only due to my unfamiliarity with the correct terminology of having a flash video within a web page. BTW, I neglected to mention that the same page that Firefox has problems with is displayed fine in Safari. Screen grab attached showing blank space where Safari displays a functional plug-in.

  • Converting LiveType movie to Flash?

Is there anybody that knows of a way to convert a LiveType movie (i.e. Quicktime movie) to Flash format for webpages? I have already tried to put a web banner I created in LiveType into my company's webpage, but it loaded very slowly on a high-speed internet connection (T1, to be specific).
I was noticing that parts of the Apple website have Flash animations (ex: in the Final Cut Studio area), and was wondering if any of those animations were created with Apple's own software (like Motion) or by a third party....
If anyone can help answer this question, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You

Sounds like your FLV's are not being encoded with the proper bite rate. I have no quality problems with FLV's (I've been doing them for clients for a few years). As far as comparing FLV's to a swf stream, if you're talking vector animation, then you're basing the wrong comparison.
Frankly, I wouldn't rely on something like LiveType to create an animated GIF, that's what Photoshop/Imageready and Fireworks are for, and they will work very well with LiveType and are darn good at what they do.

  • Flash player and IE 11

I keep getting the following message every time I enter a web page using flash player "this webpage wants  to run  the following addon: Adobe Flash Player from Adobe systems Incorporarated"
I allow it but it pops up again and again even if I allow it for all websites. I have exhausted all recommended solutions. Some one said Microsoft rewrote something in their software which causes the problem and have no intentions of fixing!!! Works with chrome just fine.

    Here's what I'd do:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
I'd ensure that the filesystem is in good shape:
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2641432?wa=wsignin1.0
Then I'd download the offline installer for the ActiveX control:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_ax.exe
If you're still not getting Flash Content, I'd try resetting Internet Explorer's settings:
Change or reset Internet Explorer settings - Windows Help
If that doesn't work, have you added anything else to the browser (ad-blocking, anti-tracking utilities, disabled JavaScript) that might prevent Flash from operating normally?

  • Flash Player sound level

Hi! Is there any way to specify initial sound level of all flash objects at webpage (via player settings maybe)? I want it low because it is so uncomfortable when I suddenly hear loud music or voice while browsing the web. I'm using firefox. Thanks.

I'm having this issue as well.  When I go to any web site and play a flash video the sound is very loud. I go into the control panel (Windows 7) and into "adjust system volume." There is a slider for firefox and flash player. The firefox slider has no affect on the volume, but the flash player slider does. The problem is that windows or flash player does not save that level. When I play another video later, I have to go in and adjust the sound level again.  Why won't it save the level like to other sliders do? Anyone?

  • Flash Player causes computer to crash and no computer sound?

    Hi all,
Was wondering if you guys could help me out.
Basically I have a fairly new computer (Dell Studio 1557).
After a couple of days of use I booted up like I normally do and tried watch some YouTube videos,
The video failed to load and once I clicked anywhere in the browser it became non responsive and forced me to close the browser (Firefox), a similar situation occurs with all the other browser i have (chrome won’t even load)
The browser freezes if I try to access anything with flash on the webpage.
Another thing that seems to be affected is the computer’s sound, Every time the flash player doesn't work the sound on the computer won't work either(not just flash videos on websites). Programs like itunes,VLC,WMP fail to load because they all use sound.
The only solution I’ve found is to restart the computer although the problem is back the next day, I've tried all the usual stuff (reinstalling flash, the browsers, and making sure the audio drivers are up to date).
Anybody out there have a similar problem or any solutions, any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your sound is crashing "system wide" your problems are deeper (a lot deeper) than Flash Player.
Make sure you have your Windows 7 DVD.
Click Start and Run (if the Run Command isn't in your Start Menu, you can add it by right clicking the Start button and choosing Properties, then go to Start Menu and Customize.
In the Run window type "sfc /scannow" minus the quotes, of course. That's ess eff see space slashscannow exactly as it appears between the quotes.
This will start the Windows System File Checker (SFC) and will scan your OS to ensure all necessary system files are intact and uncorrupted.
It may ask for the Windows 7 DVD if it finds something it cannot repair, so you need to have it handy.
