Flash Builder 4.6 - results of web service into arrayCollection?

Hello,
I'm coming from Flex 2 environment where it seemed easy to create an array collection from the data returned from my webservice using ArrayCollection and ArrayUtil.
I've since switched over to flash builder 4 and am using the data services wizard to retrieve my data.  My problem is once i can retrieve my data, how can i access and manipulate it (besides dragging it into a datagrid etc).
For example, i'd like to get the record count of items returned (ie - 32 items found).  When using an Array Collection & flex 2 i was able to simply access the ac.length parameter.
Another example would be if i needed to access a specific item in the data (ie - username).  I previously (flex 2) was able to use something like ac.getItemAt(0).USERNAME
Is the data returned from the webservice already in some type of array?  Can anybody shed some light for me?  I would appreicate any help.
thank you.

Have a resultHandler and in that resultHandler
assign the returned to a ArrayCollection variable,
assign your datagrid's dataprovider to the ArrayCollection
data comes back as generic objects

  • How to use Flash Media Live Encoder as a web Service

    Coud we use the Flash Media Live Encoder as a Web Service installed on another Server (Preferebaly on the Flash Media Server Itself).

    FMLE is typically used on the client side, and it doesn't have any sort of API that you would use to run it as a service. That said, unless you wanted to publish a camera that is connected to the server, I'm not sure why you'd want to run FMLE as a service.
    Perhaps if you explain what is is you want to accomplish....

  • Get xml data from a web service into Forms?

    Hello folks! I am reading active directory info from a web service into forms via imported java classes. I can read from functions that return strings just fine, but I have to get the output from getGroupUsers which returns an XmlDataDocument. How do I read this in and parse it in Forms?
    I will be grateful if y'all could point me to an example.
    Thank you,
    Gary
    P.S. Here is a snippet of how I get the full name by passing an ID:
    DECLARE
    jo ora_java.jobject;
    rv varchar2(100);
    BEGIN
    jo := ADSoapClient.new;
    rv := ADSoapClient.getUserName(jo, 'user_ID');
    :block3.fullname := rv;

    Hello,
    Since you are already dealing with server-side JAVA, I would suggest you create a method that would do the parsing server-side and what your PL/SQL will be dealing with is just the return string.
    Here is a method I use to read an XML file (actually, it is an Oracle Reports file converted to XML) and from the string version, I will do search, replace and other things.
    So, from getGroupUsers which returns an XmlDataDocument, you can adapt this method to get your data server-side and let the form module read the output data.
    <blockquote>
    private String processFileXml(String fileName, int iFile) throws ParserConfigurationException, SAXException,
    IOException, XPathExpressionException{
    try{
    DocumentBuilderFactory domFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    domFactory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    InputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(new File(fileName));
    DocumentBuilder builder = domFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document doc = builder.parse(inputStream);
    StringWriter stw = new StringWriter();
    Transformer serializer = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer();
    serializer.transform(new DOMSource(doc), new StreamResult(stw));
    return stw.toString();
    catch (Exception e){
    System.err.println(e);
    System.exit(0);
    return "OK";
    </blockquote>
    Let me know if this is of nay help.
    Thanks.

  • How to deploy a web service into a WAS JAVA

    hello,
    we have  Netweaver 2004s AS Java with SP 11.  I need to know how we can deploy or start up a web services into WAS. It is possible? how? Any document to help me?
    please thanks!

    Hi Gabriel,
    Hi Rohini,
    How to create Web Service:
    1. Create EJB Project(Stateless session bean is recommended).
    2. Create interface according to your requirements
    3. Signature(Parameters, data type) should be same in Remote,Bean and Local interface
    4. Create EAR Project and corresponding add the EJB Project
    5. Expose EJB as Web service. Right click on EJB Project->other->web services->web service(new VI and VSD).
    6. Deploy to Application Server.
    7. Goto http://localhost:50100/index.html. click on Web service navigator you can find web service
    8. Test the web service.

  • Facing problem while going to  catch return result from web-services.

    Hi everybody,
    I am new to BPEL. I am facing problem while going to catch the attributes of resultsets returning from web-services(QAS). As far as my knowledge, two types of results it should return - XML entities and another is attributes which is coming as the part of XML entitites. I am able to catch the XML entities, but can't catch the attributes under it. Even, I am not able to see whether web-services returning something within that field.
    When, I tried to catch the attribute and store to a temporary varilable using the following code:
    *<assign name="AssignQASDoGetAddress1">*
    *<copy>*
    *<from variable="InvokeQAS_DoSearch_OutputVariable"*
    part="body"
    query="/ns6:QASearchResult/ns6:QAPicklist/ns6:PicklistEntry/@PostcodeRecoded"/>
    *<to variable="temp"/>*
    *</copy>*
    *</assign>*
    but, I am facing the following selectionFailure errors after running it:
    *"{http://schemasxmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/}selectionFailure" has been thrown.*
    -<selectionFailure xmlns="http://schemasxmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/">
    -<part name="summary">
    *<summary>*
    empty variable/expression result.
    xpath variable/expression expression "bpws:getVariableData('InvokeQAS_DoSearch_OutputVariable', 'body', '/ns6:QASearchResult/ns6:QAPicklist/ns6:PicklistEntry/@PostcodeRecoded')" is empty at line 269, when attempting reading/copying it.
    Please make sure the variable/expression result "bpws:getVariableData('InvokeQAS_DoSearch_OutputVariable', 'body', '/ns6:QASearchResult/ns6:QAPicklist/ns6:PicklistEntry/@PostcodeRecoded')"is not empty.
    *</summary>*
    *</part>*
    *</selectionFailure>*
    Getting this error it seems to me that web-service is returning nothing, but, it returns something as it has been catched using a method called isPostcodeRecoded() Java Code in Oracle ADF. This method has been used as it should return boolean whereas for catching the xml entities using java code we used the method like getPostcode(), getMoniker().
    For your information, we are using Jdeveloper as the development tool for building the BPEL process.
    Am I doing any syntax error. Please consider it as urgent and provide me asolution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chandrachur.

    Thanks Dave and Marc, for your suggestions. Actually what I found is QAS web-service is returning nothing as attributes when the attributes are set to the default value. For example, following is the part of the wsdl of the result which QAS webservice returns.
    <xs:element name="QASearchResult">
    - <xs:complexType>
    - <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="QAPicklist" type="qas:QAPicklistType" minOccurs="0" />
    <xs:element name="QAAddress" type="qas:QAAddressType" minOccurs="0" />
    </xs:sequence>
    <xs:attribute name="VerifyLevel" type="qas:VerifyLevelType" default="None" />
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <xs:complexType name="QAPicklistType">
    - <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="FullPicklistMoniker" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="PicklistEntry" type="qas:PicklistEntryType" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" />
    <xs:element name="Prompt" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="Total" type="xs:nonNegativeInteger" />
    </xs:sequence>
    <xs:attribute name="AutoFormatSafe" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="AutoFormatPastClose" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="AutoStepinSafe" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="AutoStepinPastClose" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="LargePotential" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="MaxMatches" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="MoreOtherMatches" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="OverThreshold" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="Timeout" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    </xs:complexType>
    <xs:complexType name="PicklistEntryType">
    - <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="Moniker" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="PartialAddress" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="Picklist" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="Postcode" type="xs:string" />
    <xs:element name="Score" type="xs:nonNegativeInteger" />
    </xs:sequence>
    <xs:attribute name="FullAddress" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="Multiples" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="CanStep" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="AliasMatch" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="PostcodeRecoded" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="CrossBorderMatch" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="DummyPOBox" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="Name" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="Information" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="WarnInformation" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="IncompleteAddr" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="UnresolvableRange" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    <xs:attribute name="PhantomPrimaryPoint" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    </xs:complexType>
    here the attributes like FullAddress, PostcodeRecodedare , etc. are not being return by the web-service when it is getting the default value false. But, if it gets true then , it is being displayed at the BPEL console.
    Do you have any idea how can I catch the attributes and its value even when it gets the default value which is already set. Previously, it was returning(it was not being displayed at the console).
    Thanks once again for your valuable suggestions...!!!
    Chandrachur.

  • Integrate Document Builder to SRM PPS using Web Service

    Well, if what you want to see is the "Document Builder" link from "Related Links" of your RFx document, what you need to do is to configure it in IMG :
    SPRO - SRM Server >> Cross-Industry Functions >> Integration with Document Builder >> Activate Document Builder Integration
    There you should specify an entry with the following:
    DB DocTypes: Object Type EBP Local RFx
    And the URL to the Doc Builder webDynpro application in the format of https://<server:port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/ipro/wd_docb
    And be sure to check that checkbox marked with "+" on the column header.

    Hi Jay,
    Ok thats done. Still i we need to do the Web Service activation through SOAManager rite.  Correct me if i am wrong.
    There are 2 parts to look into it.
    1.  We can use the OLD Proxy Method used as Web Service.
    2.  Integration with SAP XI. (Note: PID is available in System Landscape)
    We took the discussion to go with OLD Proxy Method used as Web Service for now, Since its working in Sandbox.
    We created a client proxy ZDOCB in SE80 and activated it using the wizard.
    we created a Logical Port in LPConfig.
    And when checking for Web Service in WSADMIN, we are not able to find the Old Proxy used as Web Service.
    We can use SOAManager instead.  Since its not Configured in Sandbox, we went and configured in the old transaction itself (WSADMIN, LPCONFIG).
    If its feasible, can we do in SOAManager also.
    Objective:
    to get the Document Builder reflected in the Related links of RFx and Contract.

  • Problem in Flex to get XML result from web services

    Hi all
    I am struggling a proplem for a whole day, i hope somebody can help.
    I am trying to get the list file of files located on the server, so i use flex to access a ASP.NET ASMX web services, that returns all the file names in a folder.
    I can see that web servicese worked perfectly, however when i try to get the result from flex, i could not figure out how to get the real data i wantted
    public function LoadImage(e:ResultEvent):void{
    imageList.dataProvider = e.result;
    the e.result has some addtional tags, such as
    <GetImageFileListResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

          <image>21051802471898733113.png</image>
    where GetImageFileList is the operation name used in web service
    I am only interested in the data starting from <images> . I don't know why the addtioanl tag has been added.
    here is the code i have used in flex.
    <mx:WebService
    wsdl="http://localhost/Flex/GetImageFiles.asmx?WSDL" id="imageWs">
    <mx:operation name="GetImageFileList" result="LoadImage(event)" fault="mx.controls.Alert.show(event.fault.faultString)" resultFormat="
    e4x">
    </mx:operation>

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi,
    Just replace the below line in your code and check...
    imageList.dataProvider = e.result.GetImageFileListResult.images;

  • Multiple List Builder and Query As A Web Service Problems

    Hi All,
    I quickly became aware that trying to pass multiple parameters to "Query As A Web Service" from a "List Builder" object in Xcelsius was not a simple task to acheive after reading this post here :-
    Query as a Web Service and In List
    I followed the advice that David Brunner suggested towards the end of the thread about creating a "BI Service" by publishing a block from a Webi Rich Client report.
    I then referenced the newly created "BI Service" by using it's WDSL URL through the Xcelsius Data Manager - Query As A Web Service connection.
    Everything appeared to work fine (e.g. Did my selections from the last builder and got refreshed/changed figures in my Spreadsheet Table object in the Dashboard) until I realised figures in my dashboard were not reconcilling and appeared much lower than expected.
    After monitoring what was happening traffic wise with "Fiddler 2" I discovered that Xcelsius was only passing the first entry in each of the selected values for the list builder even though a range of cells (e.g Month_Year!$a$2:$a$13) was specified to be passed as an input parameter to the BI Service (confirmed through viewing the Input/Output XML being sent).
    I even tried specifying the multiple values in the different suggested ways that David Brunner advised such as a semi colon delimited list (e.g. Miami;Boston;Chicago) but this didn't appear to be working either.
    Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong here? Why is only the first value being passed?
    I am using Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP3.
    Many Thanks,
    Gary

  • Compile build.xml with Ant for web service with annotations

  • Ranked results through web services

    I am using the web service API to create a custom search interface and my results are coming back unranked. The provided search tool gives these results sorted by rank and I was wondering is there a parameter to use for performing a query through the API to get ranked results or do I have to manually sort and display the results myself?
    Documentation for the Java proxy library doesn't seem to exist. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    I did some more testing and have found that I am getting the results ranked, however I am getting old rank scores through the web service.
    For example, I perform a query and have 3 results. These results each had an initial ranking of 20. Now through the admin tool I have changed the result rankings to 60, 40, and 30. With the provided search tool I get the updated and expected ordering of results with this query.
    However, through the web service API I get the results back with the original scores of 20 for each result and the original ordering before I edited the relevancy scores. This is not just a problem with my own application as I have also setup and run the sample WS application. It too is displaying the results in the original ordering.
    A few questions I can think of then is...
    Where and when was that original rank of 20 determined for each result?
    Why is the web service giving me back results with old rank scores after I have updated them?
