Flash Builder 4.7: Preloader, stageWidth is 1200 but FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.width is 800

I am writting code to center my preloader. Using Flash Builder 4.7 when I request this.stage.stageWidth on my Asus tablet I get 1200, then when FlexGlobals.topLevelApplicaiton becomes available I use FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.width and it gives me the value I am looking for which is 800. I have it working where the display is delayed until the FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication is not null but it would be nice if the loader could start showing from the very start.
One thing I really liked about FB 4.7 was that it resized the main view to fit the screen better vs having it too big. How do I access the "scale" that's being applied so I can just calculate the stageWidth before topLevelApplication is ready.

Output folder in Flash Builder 4.6 refuses to be anything but relative
I just updated from Flash Builder 4.5 to 4.6. Things seemed to be going ok in terms of importing all my projects etc. (why can't there be a simple upgrade process rather than a complete uninstall/reinstall process?)
But then I got to setting the Output Folder within the Flex Build Path section of the properties of my project.
Now, as our dev environments we run glassfish servers locally on our testing machines and build our apps directly into them so our testing process is very quick. This was working fine in Flash Builder 4.5, I point my app's output folder to a location of the form:
C:\Users\myUserName\glassfish3\glassfish\domains\domain1\eclipseApps\appname
And that works fine, set by pasting in from an explorer window or Browsing there via the Browse button next to the field.
Now when I try to do this within Flash Builder 4.6 I get nothing at all appearing if I use the browse button. No error, nothing saying it failed, just an empty field. If I try to paste in anything I get an error from Flash Builder saying '"Paste" did not complete normally."
If I try to just type in the path it fails, it strips the leading C:\ and turns it into a relative path, which is completely useless.
This is getting really annoying!

Can't install portfolio sdk in adobe flash builder 4.7
Hi all,
as a CC member I installed acrobat XI Pro, Adobe Flash Builder 4.7.
I would like to create a new Portfolio layout but it seems impossible to me.
I already followed the instruction provided by adobe: https://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/PDFNAV/Installing+Acrobat+Portfolios+SDK but nothing happens.
This page seems outdated. How can you work this way?
Here is what I have done (windows 7 64bit):
I copied the "AcroFlashDebug.api" file in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\plug_ins"
I copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)"
I also copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse"
I copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\plugins" (please note I created the "plugins" directory manually)
I also copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins"
but now?
I started FB 4.7 but there no mention about navigator projects or portfolio.
What I'm missing here?
Is there an updated step-by-step tutorial?

tonyThe question of whether plug-ins are 64-bit or 32-bit is a vital one, and has been a pain for every app I've seen which has gone 64-bit. Maybe you'll need to install the 32-bit Flash Builder, but that's just a wild guess. This part of the issue seems specific to Flash Builder, so I recommend you try that forum.

Sound not working in Flash Builder. Help please.
So, here's my situation. I keep trying to put an mp3 in Flash Builder to try and make sounds happen, but each time I do it only plays the beginning of it and stops midway through. My music is working at 44100 Hz with a 32 bit rate (tried changing it to 16, but Audition won't let me). Here's my code.

It's a piece of code we can find on some forum and works for some people.
But the message which is displayed is always the first one => "This SWF was compiled WITHOUT a Flash Builder Pro license"
I found that page (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/flex-automation-issues-flash-builder.html) to replace the licence.jar but it still doesn't work...
The profiler doesn't work either...

When go to compile my mobile flex app I get cant resolve ViewNavigationApplication and new flex mobile projects do not 'finish' when using the wizard.

Have AIRSDK 3.5 with ASC 2.0 is working nicely. Also must remember, when updating SDK need to make sure there are not firewall restrictions to the new commands (adt)

I bought Flash Builder 4.5 Std in 2010. But I lost distribution package. Where can I download it to install again on my computer? In my products list I do not see download link any more.

But unfortunately when I enter serial number i got "This serial number is not valid for this product"

i have big problems signing the apk for the GooglePlayStore..
I tried this from the android dev page

but i am getting this error:

I created a p12 with Flash Builder and thought thats all i need but the playstore says its unsinged so how to sign it corretcly?

Flash Builder 4 classes (education)?
I know it is early since Flash Builder 4 has not been released yet but I am still hoping to find some in depth classes available. Not surprisingly I cannot find anything online (with the exception of the training on Adobe.com which I am going through now). I am working on a project where we are using Flash Builder 4 for our development and need to learn more, but so much has changed moving to Spark components that I don't think any more Flex 3 classes would be very valuable.
If anyone knows of some advanced Flash Builder 4 training available please respond.

Data Mangement expects unique values for id property.This issue may occur when you select 'Identity' property in Data Mangement wizard which is not unique in the Table.For eg:, you have selected 'name' field as identity property. And your MySQL database table has multiple rows with identical values for 'name' column.
Can you verify if you have similar setup?

Flash builder 4.7 not treating External linkage correctly
Hi,
I am refactoring the project I am working to external link assets(flash assets), so I can load them on runtime.
This works in Flash builder 4.6 and you can observe a smaller .swf than if they are merged into code.
In FB 4.7 However it seems to ignore external linkage resulting in same size .swf as merged into code setting and I can run it fine without loading any external swf.
This seems to be yet another bug in FB 4.7 or its compiler, unless I am missing something.
Ps.
I am building the project with -frame parameter which seems to be the way to use a preloader with the new compiler:

The preloader is on frame 1, splash screens on frame 2 and 3 and rest of the project on frame 4.
Is this a known bug by any chance & or are there any ways around it.

If you adjust the linkage on the directory ./export/normal/swc to external, on the web project it makes absolutely no difference. While in FB 4.6 or using ant build it is smaller and requires a swf to be loaded at runtime.
That being said, I am now in the process of seeing if the method we are trying to use will actually work, since the iOS packager refuses to make a release build if it cannot find the class definitions at compile time.
The idea is basically that the compiler uses external linkage to flash assets, and then depending if the device is retina or not it loads the appropriate swf. -
Air Auto Update Error -- Flash Builder Burrito.
This is my first attempt at this, so I may be missing something simple.
I'm not having any luck getting an Air app to automatically update.
If I manually go to http://localhost/air1/air1.air and redownload the file I will get a popup that asks if I want to update the app, but when I say ok I get this error.
"There was an error checking for updates. Error# 16816"

Cannot open Flash Builder 4.5 after updating
Hi,
I have a corporate version of CS5.5 installed on 32bit machine.
Recently, Flash Builder notified me of an available update. It was for some Java but since Eclipse is Java Based I intalled it.
Now when I open it, it freezes on the splash screen. Without closing it, I open a new one. It asks for a new workspace since old used, I gave it new one. Still stuck on splash screen. Tried restarting computer. Now when I open Flash Builder, it is not stuck on splash page but and error popups and program exits. The popup tells me to look at a log file.
