Flash Builder fails to copy over static files in incremental compiles
During incremental compiles, the Flash Builder fails to copy over certain static files (such as *.js and html files). I have my own html wrapper and during incremental compiles it fails to copy over this file and also deletes the file from bin-debug/bin-release. I have to do a clean build instead to ensure these files are copied over.
Just tried this out on an IIS server with Flash player 10.3.181.14 - it worked.
Are you using the release version of Flash Builder 4.5 with the release version of Flex SDK (not a prior SDK build)?
The URL you mentioned gives me a 403 forbidden error.

Flash Builder fails to connect to debugger
I've noticed this problem after doing a clean build of all projects (app and libraries) in my workspace. After a clean build, when I launch the application in debug mode, Flash Builder fails to connect to the debugger and is usually stuck with a status of "Launching app: (61%)" for a long time and ultimately reports an error. However, if I just do a clean build of the app (no dependent libraries), I don't have this problem.
You may be hitting this infamous issue: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-16153 (multithreading problem in Flash Player, supposedly fixed now but not released yet). The more CPUs/cores your computer has, the more often you will encounter this issue.

Alu 2s fails at copying many small files
Hi,
when I transfer big files I get nice speeds and have no problems around 80MB/S)
But then I wanted to backup my mail directory that contains many small (few kb) email files - around 40.000
Speed drops to like 5MB/S. I know it's supposed to drop with small files but this seems a bit extreme.
When copying is done, the LED keeps flashing.
When I try to copy a larger file afterwars, the speed is around 1mb/s.
The LED keeps blinking even when no files are transferred.
When I force unmount the drive and reconnect, many files are filled with null's, so obviously it didn't complete the writing process properly.
I waited over 30mins but the LED keeps blinking, software unmount doesn't work in this state.
Is this like, a known bug? It's really nerving.

I need to install Flash Builder 4.7 on my windows 8 computer. I started the install process, but was soon stopped due to error 1. The software wants me to uninstall/reinstall the software. there is no program installed on the computer. Cannot find any lingering cookies in regedit. Need to install this software.

Flash builder 4.7 lags on big files

I starts using new Flash Builder 4.7 three days ago.
I have file that contain 5000 strings of code. And when I open this file and starts edit it - flash builder starts terrible lags! I can print only 3-4 chars per minute...
There was not such problem in FB 4.6

Eclipse Galileo 3.5 Cocoa 32/64 bit + Flash Builder = fail?
I thought I'd just bring this to everyone's attention, since it came up as a "gotcha" to me. If you're downloading the newest version of Eclipse and you want to plug Flash Builder Beta 2 into it, you can only use the Carbon version.
Any word on what the final release will support?When I run the application in the memory profiler under FB 4.0 it takes
about 80MB of RAM peak.
I can not get the app to launch out of FB 4.5.
I have reproduced this issue on two different machines running only Eclipse
both stand alone and the plugin versions.
My machine has 4GB of RAM, my typical usage is less than 2GB.
Right now with FB 4.0 I am working on the problem project and a few sample
projects and Eclipse is consuming about 600MB which seems normal to me.
The confusing thing for me is that everything works fine and is responsive
with FB 4.0 and the issue does not seem to be actually compiling the
application, rather it has something to do with how FB is parsing my source
code that causes the hang. Almost like somehow a circular dependency check
that used to work is now failing or something like that.
I am not sure how to find out what FB 4.5 is hanging on precisely. I can only
see that the logs look normal and memory usage climbs out of sight while it
is hanging.

Flash Builder failed to lunch after installation.
Adobe Flash Builder can't lunch after installation completed successfully. it says to uninstall and reinstall again. if problem continues, contact adobe support. and it says: "error: 5"
~ Then after I uninstalled it. Download it again and reinstall again, same result. I did this numerous times now and no tech solutions so far!
What is going on here and how to fix this?don't worry, it works now, after i rebooted the machine.

Boot Camp Assistant fails to copy windows installation files
I have been struggling to get Windows 8 installed on a brand new Macbook Pro Retina. It seemed simple enough to just run Boot Camp 5 with a 16GB flash drive in the USB port and a Windows 8 Professional ISO sitting on the desktop with the intent of creating a bootable USB drive, but it's not working for me. After selecting the path to the ISO file, boot camp proceeds to format the flash drive, create the WININSTALL partition, and attempt to copy the contents of the ISO to it, but it fails.
The error message isn't all that helpful, but the console logs seem to indicate that there is some sort of problem remounting the flash drive after formatting:

I have tried rebooting, removing and re-inserting the flash drive, mounting, umounting, and reformatting. Boot Camp always winds up in the same place.

And how can I use Boot Camp Assistant to write the Windows.iso to USB-stick because it forces the download of support software (it is selected and grayed out).

I guess I could write the Windows.iso to USB using Windows (in fact I already did and it boots the MBP) and then try if the aforementioned software packages (which one?) contain necessary drivers for our MBP.
But I'd rather do it the recommended way letting the Boot Camp Assistant do the dirty work. -
Flash Builder fails to compile
I'm trying to de-bug a project and using a lot of trace statements. When I debug the file in a browser (Firefox) it often fails to re-compile with the result that the most recent trace statements are ignored. I've tried clearing my recent history but that does not help. I'm using Flash Buider 4.6 on a Mac. Can anyone suggest a solution?
Sometimes the compiler has trouble picking up changes in dependent libraries, or it doesn't know in which order to build the projects, so you get unexpected results.
I've just gotten in the habit of doing a clean whenever I actually run the project. I just use the auto-build to check for compiler errors. Also, you probably do not need to clean the whole workspace, just doing a clean on the main application project should do the trick. However, I sometimes have to clean a library project as well, if I make changes to the manifest.xml, or something along those lines. -

Extracting Flash Builder 4 fails (Windows 7)
Dear all,
as the heading indicates I have a problem of extracting Flash Builder 4 from its original download file (FlashBuilder_4_LS10.exe). It doesn't work on a fresh Windows 7 installation. The program tells me that it is preparing the files to be extracted and then nothing.
I tried the extract on a Windows 2003 Server machine and there it works. However, it is also a problem the copy the extracted files back on my Windows 7 machine. It get stuck in the process of copying.
Now I zipped the directory and was able to copy to my Windows 7 machine. But... installing the IDE stops at 15% and is adding to the time remaining to install (currently at 50 minutes and rising)
Have you had this problem before? If so, any workaround for it?

I guess the file FlashBuilder_4_LS10.exe was corrupted during download. Did you use the same exe on Windows 2003 Server machine, where the extraction went fine? If not, can you download the exe again, and try running it?

I have the latest Airport Extreme with a Seagate drive connected. I copied files to the drive while it was connected to my MacBook Pro. The files do not show up when connected to the AE, but they appear when connected to the Macbook, Files copied over the network to the drive appear. The drive is formatted HFS+.
After playing with this for the last few days, I found a solution. Under the "Disks" tab in Airport Utility, the "Secure Shared Disks" drop down needs to be set to "With device password". Mine was set to "With acounts", which even after correct authentication, none of the files would appear.
Another interesting note: The files that I could see, the ones I copied over the network, do not appear now. I can copy over new files, and they show up, but the ones copied prior to changing the "Secure Shared Disks" option, do not.
