Flash builder very slow

Hi all,
i'm using Adobe® Flash® Builder™® 4.7
with Windows 7 64bits, Core i5, 8Go RAM, SSD Samsung EVO PRO 256Go
After a few minutes Flash Builder becomes very slow. I can no longer enter a lineunless it freeze. The processor increases its frequency and everything returns tonormal after a few seconds if I did nothing...
I tried the methods provided in this link:
Flash Builder 4 Extremely slow under Windows 7 + Java
It is better but still not enough.
Thank you for your help in advance!
Best regards,
PY

Hi,
Don't know if it's the same problem that I have but here's my problem and solution.
Every time I embed CFF fonts in code I get the same behaviour, ie:
[Embed(source="E:/Library/fonts/arial.ttf",
fontFamily="Arial_CFF",
fontWeight= "normal",
fontStyle= "normal",
mimeType="application/x-font",
embedAsCFF="true",
advancedAntiAliasing="true")]
private const  Arial_Normal_CFF:Class;
So my solution is to place all embeds in a separate master package like InitMaster.as
Then I just extend the main class with it.
package {
     import InitMaster;
     public class Main extends InitMaster{
           public function Main() {
               //Do your other stuff here
The sluggishness (is this a word?) happens only when I open the InitMaster and do copy/paste.
Oh, and I have a dual cpu, 12 core (24HT) machine with SSD dics and 64GB RAM so it's not a hardware issue.
Hope this helps.

  • Multiple crashes fixed by turning off hardware and Flash acceleration; very slow now. Takes five seconds to exit and still listed as a running process

    A workaround was suggested by a member of the community to turn off both hardware and Flash acceleration. It worked fine (no crashes since), but runs very slowly. In particular, takes five seconds to exit and is often still listed as a running process. Very slow in connecting to Web pages, and very slow loading them because of the graphics. Very slow in loading video. I expected slower responses, but this is REALLY slow. I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and an Nvidia GE Force 7800 graphics card with all the drivers updated and the plugins for Firefox mostly set on "ask to activate". Should I expect this much reduction in performance when the workaround I mentioned was put into place? If so, it's half a loaf at best. The only thing questionable is that I have two Youtube downloaders that I am trying, but I made the assumption that these were only applied when you downloaded something from Youtube.

    In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes": do not clear the Cookies
    If you clear cookies then Firefox will also try to remove cookies created by plugins and that requires to start plugin-container processes that can slow down closing Firefox.
    Instead let the cookies expire when Firefox is closed to make them session cookies.

  • Flash export very slow

    Hello!
    I did some captures (242 slides) but when I export the slides
    to a Flash file, and when I read this file, it is very slow! For
    instance, I can't see the animations completely, and the mouse
    movements are jerky.
    I tried to watch the project on a more powerful computer, but
    it's also very slow. Is my project too big? (98,8 Mo and 8,95 Mo
    for the Flash file).
    What can I do? I already resized it to 640x480. I still have
    to add some audio commentaries and I fear it might slow the project
    again. Thanks for your help!

    Hello ameloche35,
    Whilst it would be impossible for me analyze this without
    taking look at your source Captivate 2 file, I would suggest that
    you take a look at
    Exporting
    your Adobe Captivate 2 to Flash article. I have to be honest
    and say that having 242 slides won't help. I would try looking for
    any redundant or slides you can get rid of and see if that makes
    any difference.
    Tip: In Adobe Captivate 2 you can remove all unused items by
    showing the Library panel, clicking on the select unused items
    button on the Library tool bar and then clicking the delete button.
    Regards,
    Mark

  • Flash CS5 very slow to start up

    My version of Flash CS5 has recently become very slow to start up, taking well over a minute sometimes.
    It appears to stall for the longest time during a loading process called "...Loading Accelerators" (yes, very ironic).
    Anyone have any idea what may be causing this behaviour?
    Mac Pro running Mac OSX 10.6.7 (Snow Leopard) and 14Gb RAM.

    Yes I am using Sophos!
    Do Sophos have a feature/bug request page? This is one feature I can do without!
    Thanks for your help.

  • Flash is very slow in the new Firefox - why?

    Dear FF!
    Flash is running slow in FF4+ compared to for instance Safari and Chrome. We are launching a new section of Sesame Street in two weeks, and it would be great to know if the next version of FF solve this issue or if they should tell their audience that they should use a different browser.
    We have always loved FF. But not sure what happened in the new version.
    Thanks!
    Andreas

    Any updates on this would be great! Is there any solutions for optimizing this? Is this something to avoid? Help!

  • Flash video very slow

    hi all,
    Whenever i watch any flash video it almost unwatchable until i let the entire video load, even then it is still very choppy. I already down graded to flash 9, which helped a little but not much. it was fine until i installed leoapard, and i upgraded the ram when i did. I booted off my tiger external and it was still just as bad as leopard is.
    1.2ghz ibook G4
    1.25gb ram
    30gb hdd (15gb free) and on the tiger drive there is 25gb free
    safari 4.1 and 5.0
    both are pretty much clean installations

    Flash is a tremendous resource hog, and the processor in the iBook G4 really isn't up to the task.
    Take a look through the iBook G3 forums, and read this thread as well, and see if any of the advice helps:

  • Flash loading very slow in IE 9 with latest updates

    Dear Members
    Hello to all members myself is Kaustav Banerjee from India and I am into a manufacturing business. Recently I have developed our company's website through a professional website designing company but unfortunately I am having serious issues with Flash in IE 9.
    Let me tell you the details
    Flash version 11.1.102.55 ( The latest version )
    IE 9  version 9.0.8112.16421 ( The latest version)
    Our website  - www.ideasincrafts.com
    OS Version ( WIN 7 32 bit )
    The problem I am having is the website takes very long time to load the flash animation and when somebody opens the home page in IE 9 the user only looks at a flash placeholder with borders. Sometimes the flash loads and sometime it doesn't. Also when the user clicks on the links of the website the flash loading procedure starts again and its quite frustrating.
    The weird thing is the flash displays properly on the other browsers like Firefox and Google chrome.
    I really hope you members can guide us through this issue as the web designing company I am working with doesn't have a clue at all why this is happening.
    I am attaching the image of the problem.
    Thanks with best regards
    Kaustav Banerjee

  • Flash running very slow

    I'm running Flash CS 3 Professional (version 9) on a Mac G5
    2ghz dual with 7gb of ram and it's sooooo slow. Switching from
    another program back to Flash takes quite a few seconds before
    Flash will respond. Are there any preferences that I can tweak to
    make it run faster?

    I want to bump this because Im having the same problem and
    its incredibly frustrating. Any time I leave Flash open and go to
    any other application then cmd+tab or click back into flash I get
    the 'beach ball of death'....I tried the 'open the help panel and
    close it again' I saw suggested elsewhere and no difference.

  • Flash works very slow

    Well, flash video (for example, an Youtube) works slow.

    You may be able to disable Flash entirely and just use HTML 5 video codecs to view the videos this is faster but you may lose access to some videos such as ones that have mandatory advertisements.

  • USB copying to flash Drive very slow suddenly!

    hi
    i just got my brand new macbook and the ipod touch and so far i love my new mac experience at first i copied my music( 5 GB) on a flash drive and copied it to my macbook and ipod since they both r 2.0 usb they did it pretty fast!
    later i was copying the same stuff to the same flash drive and it took me 2 hours to do that the ipod still syncs at a good speed but i don't know if the problem is in the drive or the laptop
    i have the same problem on my windows xp machine which has 1.1 usb but the it's much slower than it's supposed to be!
    i've searched the forums and other guys have the same thing but no solution !
    i swithced to mac to get over windows problems but i'm starting to get disappointed!
    any help would be appreciated and plz give me some advice on how to handle the new keyboard! and anything mac
    thanks !

    I have been experiencing the same problem with an Intel iMac 17" here. I use a variety of external powered hard drives and flash drives via USB. I notice last month that transfer speeds had dropped considerably. That and the fact it had been a year or so since I had last reinstalled prompted me to completely wipe out and reinstall the OS (10.5).
    After a complete erase and install, with all current updates applied as of this date, the problem still persists. For example, I have my iTunes library on an external self-powered hard drive. Playing songs is fine, but video is unwatchable. Just now, I attempted to copy a movie file (approx. 700 mb) to a USB flash drive. The reported transfer time was 5 hours!! This is true across the board for me, no matter how the configuration is, be it devices connected directly to the machine's own USB ports or through a powered hub, having self-power or powered through the port.
    This problem has only started for me in the last couple of months, with regular updates applied as they came out. Resetting the SMC has also not worked.

  • Download to flash drive very slow

    Downloading to a USB flash drive (2 attempted: Sandisk Cruzer and Kingston, both with plenty to free space) has always been slower than other transfers (ie, HD to HD, HD to Firewire HD), but suddenly transfer rates plummeted from a few minutes for 50 MB to well over an hour. I tried restarting alone, ran Applejack on a second restart, nothing. Folders downloaded contain jpg images, pdfs, and MS doc and docx files, nothing unusual, and pretty much the exact same folders that were already on the drive. I was updating them to include a few current files. Incidentally, after none of the above worked, I tried deleting one of the folders I was replacing (and emptying the trash) before transferring the folder to the USB drive, with no success.
    This has never been an issue on this same Power Mac g5 running the same everything and using the same 2 flash drives (I keep them as supplemental backups of current data).
    Anybody have an idea why the transfer rate would slow this much?
    thanks

    This page tells you all you need to know about downgrading a package:

    Edit: I would recommend the ARM method for finding an old binary file if you don't have it in your cache.

  • Building very slow?

    I have a ninety-minute feature I am importing into DVDSP as an NTSC DV file. No menus, no buttons, nothing except the movie on the project.
    The build is taking over five hours and it's still at 41% (it's been there for the last 4 hours). Is this normal? Would exporting out of FCP as MPEG2 speed up the process?
    Thanks.
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    If I'm understanding you correctly, you're importing a file into DVDSP that hasn't been compressed at all. That's what is taking so long...it's compressing before it's building. Not the way to go, really, since you don't have as much control over how the item is being compressed. Exporting it from FCP via Compressor would take as much time, probably, but would give you more control over settings.

  • Report Builder very slow when using NOt Equal

    When creating dataset I have to exclude some customers and use Not Equal option out of filters option. Everuthing is getting extremely slow.
    How to find the way to solve the problem - exclude the player and have decent performance. The reports for end-users and they are limited to drag and drop and not going to learn MDX.
    Thanks

    Hi srussky,
    According to your description, you used not equal in query of dataset and the report runs slow, right?
    When we use =, it reduces the join operation to one single matching row from each table. When we use not equal to, it massively increased the number of pairings if 99.99 % of the rows are matched.
     To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
    Consider replacing the not equal operator with equals (=) or inequaluity operators (>,>=,<,<=) if possible.
    Using Stored Procedures in dataset, then the query will be executed in database engine.
    Reduce the number of member siblings in the level that is being referenced in the MDX query.
    Reduce the number of member properties of the referenced member and its member siblings.
    Use Drillthrough filters in the MDX query to limit the number of rows that are returned by the MDX query.
    Use the XML/A Provider after warming the client cache of the provider.
    Use virtual dimensions.
    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Application Builder Very Slow. How much RAM is required

    I running LabVIEW 8.0 on a Windows 2000 PC. The PC is a Pentium 4 300GHz, with 1 Gb of RAM. I have a specific application which has 400-500 VIs and the built time has escalated from approximately 3 minutes to over 60 minutes. I have tested it on another computer with similiar hardware and I get the same results.
    During the Application building I have observed that hard drive light is continually on so that it appears that the computer is using virtual memory. The LAbVIEW VIs are stored on the network and LabVIEW program files are stored on the local srive.
    My questions are these:
    1. Could I actually be running out of RAM during the building process?
    2 What are the computer requirements for LabVIEW 8?
    3. Is 1 Gbyte of RAM enough RAM to build large (400-500 vis) applications?
    Thanks

    Hi Int_man,
    1. Unless you notice CPU usage skyrocketing to 100%, probably not.
    2. "LabVIEW requires a minimum of 256 MB of RAM, but National Instruments recommends 512 MB of RAM." This information is available in the LabVIEW 8.0 Release Notes
    3. The size of an application usually takes a back seat to array/cluster sizes. Branching large arrays and passing between local variables cause memory usage to increase X-fold. To quote Dennis, " The amount of RAM used is more a function of
    what your program is doing and how it is doing it than the size of the
    source files."
    I recommend taking a look at the Faster build discussion forum. There are many helpful suggestions for optimizing the App Builder build time.
    Cheers.
