Flash lite compatible cellphones

Hello,
I am new to mobile site designing through Flash lite. While working for the client, he wanted to have a list of cell phones that has Flash lite pre-installed. I gave the link from Adobe site. Now he also needs a list of cell phones that does not have Flash lite pre-installed but you can install it and see the mobile site.
Can anyone help me with that?
Thanks alot

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the Droid phones by Verizon have that capability already
installed?  At least thats what I heard.

  • Is Flash Lite app compatible with MS Marketplace

Now that WM6.5 has been officially released, I am wondering if a Flash Lite app packaged by the Mobile Packager would pass the MS guidelines for applications to be listed on Marketplace. Have anyone tried it out yet?

    Hi,
MS terms for their marketplace are designed to control the use of other web runtimes, including Flash.  They state that only Windows managed code will be accepted, which rules out our binaries.
You may want to look at developer.open-plug.com for their ELIPS tool which produces nice applications using Adobe Flex tools.

There are several things in Captivate 2 that are not viewable
    in Flash Lite.
The above article should help you create a project file that
    can be viewed

  • How to load a audio stream in flash lite 3.0

    var music:Sound = new Sound();
    music.loadSound("http://38.101.195.5:8000;Stream.mp3",true);
I am not able to load the stream.
Please help me to play the stream

    Hello kkc_mca.
As I know, unlike desktop PC player, there is no progressive load capability with Flash Lite.
May be there is one option for FL3 is to stream a mp3 from Flash media server or compatible server. You might also be able to use the FL2 video object to stream audio only 3gp or aac audio from RTSP server.
I can not say this is proper way but hope you will be succeed.

  • HP iPAQ with flash lite compatibility

I'm thinking of purchasing an HP iPAQ for the purpose of
maybe adapting a SWF app to work with this phone/pda device. This
device comes with Windows Mobile 5 For Pocket PC Phone Edition, I
was wondering if anyone knows if this OS is compatible with Flash
Lite. I know that Windows Mobile 5 is, but I wanted ot make sure
the phone edition was as well, the Flash Lite section of this web
site does not mention this OS version.... and when it comes to OS's
    I trust nothing!!
If anyone can provide any inpute, I would apreciate it!!!
    Carlos

Flash lite 3,0 and 3,1 are based on Flash 8, for most of sites you have to have version 9 or earlier...
With Flash lite 3 you can browse only sites like youtube, which has special player version for these phones. (and work only on s60v3, on s60v5 you have to use app)
Flash lite 4 s based on Flash 10. Unfortunately, Flash lite 4 supports only new Nokia Symbian^3 and some Android devices. Browsing web with Flash lite 4 is much better and you can open about 90% flash content... But, it will probably never be avaliable for older (s60v3 and v5) smartphones.

  • Newbe Flash Lite 2.0 developer

    Hey
I just bought a new phone, a nokia 6110 and saw that it had
Flash Lite 2.0 pre-installed. I have done some Flash development
before in Flex for as3.0. I have been reading up on Flash Lite 2.0
and it seams like it's equal to Flash 7? Also when the new Flash
Lite 3.0 is released is it gonna work on my phone?
Can I develop for Flash lite by just using as2.0 in the Flex
IDE or do I have to get and use Adobe Flash CS3? Is there a free
compiler than can compile for Flash Lite 2.0, similar to the free
    Flex SDK?
    Thanks
    Zarathrusta

Flash Lite 2.0 is close to Flash 7 but not quite all features
(no FLV for example). Flash Lite also has a number of features
unique to mobile that are not part of the desktop PC player such as
device integration (fscommand2) and device video/sound.
A public beta developer version of Flash Lite 3.0 is
currently available for Nokia series 60 v3 phones only. I dont
recall the OS for 6110, you can check forum.nokia.com to find out
if this is a series 60 phone or not.
You can use any software tool that compiles to Flash 7
compatible SWF and run the SWF in the Flash Lite player. However,
there are special features of Flash Lite you can only develop for
using the Flash IDE. To my knowledge these are not yet part of
    FlexIDE and other free compilers.
So if you want to experiment you should be able to use
FlexIDE and compile to Flash 7 or lower for compatibility with
Flash Lite 2.0 player. But for a commercial level releases you
should consider using the Flash Lite IDE and Device Central for
    emulation and publishing.

  • Flash lite 3.1 not available for windows device?

Hi! Can anybody help me here?
I've been developing stand alone flash apps for windows mobiles with flash lite 2.1 with no problems!
The company I'm developing for has switched to Vodafone V1520's (Asus p550) running windows mobile 6 Professional.
I've ran flash lite 2.1 with no problems on the device. I've decided to upgrade to 3.1 as it's a fresh install for all 2000 units.
My problem is, When I install the app using Adobe mobile packager, the device comes back with the error " Adobe flash lite is not available for this device"!! I know flash lite 2.1 works.
Is there a way to manually install 3.1 on the device?

You can download the player at the following URL:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/distributableplayer.html
Please be aware that you need to use the Mobile Packager to use this version of the runtime for applications.  It's also worth pointing out that your device should be compatible, we do not recommend installing it on unsupported devices.
We have a new version of the packager 1.1 here:

  • RTMP & Flash lite 3.x

which variants of RTMP does Flash Lite 3.1 support?

The Flash Platform for the Digital Home is based upon Flash Lite 3.1, although largely compatible with the mobile phone version currently it does not support RTMPE.
The Flash Lite Distributable Player does support progressive download of video over HTTP as well as RTMP and RTSP.  Unfortunately I have no information on HTTPS support for video playback, so I'd suggest creating a simple test SWF.

  • Flash Lite Full Support

I've paid 750 dlls for the N97 im really happy with it(it crashes but whatever) & I still wonder, when are we gonna have a full flash support in this phone, cuz it is a really expensive one and I cannot watch videos on ustream, cant play simple games on the web like http://luiscofield.elbruto.es the videos on youtube Desktop version(m.youtube.com has really lame quality and the youtube app it is worst) sometimes crashes or it appears the F icon from flash or if u try to move on the page it is really slow and not smooth at all. Imma bout to buy the N900 but I gotta wait for the compatible version for my country cuz for now the band are not compatible with my 3G band on Mexico.. So for now on I still have to use the N97 but i really wanna know **bleep** with the Flash support!

The latest version of Flash Lite is Flash Lite 3. It is comparable to Flash 8, so it won't support everything. The ball's in Adobe's court on this one, until there's a new version of Flash Lite, Nokia can't really do anything about it. Well, in principle they could start providing full Flash on S60 devices, but I'm not sure that's really possible given the specifications. It'd eat the battery fast.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.

  • Is it flash 10 or flash lite?

    Hi,
can someone explain to me what is this widely spreaded news about flash 10 on smartphone talking about?
I can't find any official news on adobe, beside the fact that actually Adobe is working with several partners to bring flash player 10 on smartphone.
But what does it mean? Is it talking about the media like flash lite 3.1 is doing? Is it talking about something more complete instead, like supporting actionscript 3?
    Please let me understand.

The goal is to create a consistent player that reaches across the desktop, web and smartphones.  Later in the year we'll release the first version of this which will be Flash Player 10 compatible.
    It includes support for AS3.

  • Flash Lite Update??

Anyone know if there's a flash lite update for the N95 yet/soon? I know that youtube etc wont work on the web browser but surely this is down to the flash player not being at the same standard as what is widely available on the net.
If the flash lite player were to be updated perhaps youtube would work?

no the version on the handset doesn't open up a lot of flash content on the web already - like youtube, certain banners/music players on myspace, etc...
...I wanted to know if there are any plans to upgrade flash lite to allow these functions to work.
there is no information on the adobe website about this, and the most recent version on flash lite is already installed on the handset - plus it doesn't list n95 as a compatible handset on the adobe website.

  • Getting Big Headache, What is difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7

Hello, I am asking questions about the two similar yet different programs for Pocket PC version only:
    1) Which came first, Flash Lite 3.1 or Flash Player 7?
    2) If I have both in my Pocket PC, will there be product incompatibility?
    3) What is the difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7.
    4) I have a Flash Lite 3.1 but uninstall information says "Flash Lite 3.1 for Opera Mobile", did you releaase this? Is this an illegal copy? A developer's copy?
*I don't know exactly where I got it, but I got it from the HTC developer's forum: XDA-developers.com
*I also use Opera mobile, a web browser for Pocket PC's.
    5) What is difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Lite 3.1 for Opera? Is the only difference is that Flash Lite Supports everything flash related, while Flash Lite Opera supports only flash in opera?
Hi, I don't expect all answers, but I hope someone or someone from adobe support can clear some things up for me.

The program under my "remove programs" list is specifically called "Adobe Flash Lite for Opera". The XDA forums people said along time ago that it was Flash Lite, and kept calling it Flash Lite, and not Flash Player 7.
    Now what about this:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashlite/version/
The table shows the differences between FP 7 SDK, FL 2.1, and FL 3.1. And it's quite obvious that FL 3.1 has way more features than Flash Player 7. What does SDK mean? And why are you telling me FP 7 has more features?
With this information, can you or anyone else provide any more details and clarification?

  • Flash lite and Memory

    Hi everyone,
I am loading 4 xmls in my application whose size is not more
than 200 KB. My application is 75 KB.
I am loading these xmls into their respective arrays. I
tested this application on E51 and it is installed on memory card.
When I am manpulating the array contents and send this
content to the server sometimes I am getting memory overflow error.
I have kept track of the memory which I noticed at one point
of time exceeds 2 MB and overflow error occurs.
I tried freeing the xml objects using <xmlObject>=null
after loading the contents into respective arrays, but still the
    memory freed is very little.
How do I solve this issue?
Moreover the static and dynamic heap memory for flash lite
applications varies from device to device. Is there any way to
extend the memory or use virtual memory sort of thing when the
application is installed in memory card instead of phone memory
    itself.

    Hi Alex,
I am not "from" Adobe but I have been playing with FL for a
while and I am an ACE. For a Qualcomm specific question you may
want to try thte qualcomm forums (
    http://brewforums.qualcomm.com/)
but in the meantime, I can at least tell you what has been working
    for me.
Add the code used here to you movie (but remember that adding
this debugger will add to the memory load)::
I hope that helped. The biggest message—test on your
device **(but suprissingly, the numbers on my Flash (not qualcomm)
emulator when targeting my exact device are the same as on the
device. Once it gets below 70% the device throws memory errors.
Also, make sure you do garbage collection (search term in FL help
file) otherwise as your program stays on it could throw errors.
(i.e. After 20 minutes the device could throw a memory error but
not right away. This actually happend to me.).
*p.s. Obviously functions require FL 2.0 and not 1.1, but we
are in the BREW forum. To be backwards compatable to FL 1.1 you
would need a frames based method to measure time.
    Best,
