You cannot put anything like a hotspot OVER Flash. You would
have to do
that *in* the Flash Actionscript, not in HTML.

You may select the arrow then "Bring to Front".

  • Is there a way to overlay a soundcloud music player widget (flash or HTML5) ON TOP of a jpeg image?

I am designing my first webpage for a new site. It is very basic in function, where I am going to be embedding a bunch of soundcloud.com players of my music to my website. This part is fairly easy. I currently have Adobe Dreamweaver CS6.
Since I have ZERO webdesign experience, going the easy route is best. It was suggested to me by someone to create what I wanted my webpage to look like in photoshop (which I have lots of experience in). Essentially, I have a single image with lots of visual information on it, where I can then add "hotspots" if needed. So, I created my design, where there are specific areas ON TOP of the jpeg image where I want to overlay the soundcloud player. I am able to adjust the size, and format (HTML5 or Flash) of the player itself at soundcloud. I then have the proper code that needs to be put where I want it on top of my image.
Is there a simple piece of code, or a way in Dreamweaver to accomplish this in an easy way?
    Thanks in advance!

Here is the widget code for HTML5 for the first one:

And finally, here is a link to the jpeg image:

You can probably see where I want the player to overlay...below the text and to the right of the artwork.  I will have the image centered on the screen.
    I greatly appreciate your help!

  • How to load a jpeg image in to a database from a flex2 app

    Hi,
how ouwld I browse the local fie system, select a jpeg image
    and then save
it to a database using flex2?
Anybody know of some sample code that I can look at?
    Thamls

    Hi Thamis,
Take a look at the flash.net.FileReference class here:
    http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flex/2/langref/index.html
This is the built in Flash support for file upload. You'd
handle the upload with a servlet/jsp/etc. server-side component to
save it to disk or as binary data in a database.
    Best,

  • Firefox 3.6.8 causing all JPEG images to be compressed like AOL 9.0

    System Setup:
    Windows 7 Home Premium x64
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (newest drivers installed)
Aero is running, switched it off to troubleshoot. Problem persisted.
    Steps to Create the Problem:
    1.) Updated to 3.6.8 from 3.5.11.
2.) Loaded up my website: http://www.columbuswebseo.com
3.) I noticed that the background image looks compressed (where it has a gradient around the blurred light specks in top right corner) . Like a highly compressed JPEG image from AOL days (to speed up page load times).
4.) Messed with all FireFox, Windows 7, NVIDIA, physical Dell LCD monitor color settings. Even did research on my RoadRunner connection to see if they implemented an accelerator of some sort. Disabled Add-ons one by one re-testing the issue along the way. Problem persisted.

It's not your graphics card. It's not your OS. It's not your browser.
It's your internet. I had a broadband card, and I figured out that my ISP (Internet Service Provider) was actually downgrading my image quality to make my internet faster. It's called Network Optimization. Look in the options menu of your broadband connection application (Like if you have T-Mobile or whatever, look in the part the application that connects you to the internet) and see if you can change your Optimization Settings. This should clear things up for you.
Also, if your internet is really that slow, like mine was, I would suggest getting another provider. It's the best option. Hope that helps. :)

  • Picking a color of a JPEG image

    Hi!
Can anyone please help me with this issue:
I'm writing a program that has to *"pick a color" of a 640 x 480px JPEG image*. The arguments of the program are the X and Y coordinates from the top left corner - than the program outputs the color in the hexadecimal notation.
    Kind regards

Nope not a homework problem ... I have a GUI program (some input fields and a simple display) that downloads some specific measurement pictures (colour graphs) from a daily refreshed site and it archives them in a specific order. The output of the program is a HTML file that resembles a specific measurement based on the colour of a specific pixel on these pictures.
I have everything in place ... just this colour picking of an image poses a halt for me.
That's why I was hoping to get a usage example of the method that you specified.

  • How to get a jpeg image to a movie with best possible quality

I've got a jpeg image from my 2 megapixel digital camera and I'm playing around with converting it to a movie. Yes, its a one image movie.
+QuickTime Pro+ does a superb job when I choose H.264, 1024 kb/s, but I can't get iMovie 5.0.2 to give me the same quality. This is what I have done:
    1. Create a new movie as type MPEG-4.
    2. Imported the jpeg image and adjust the time from 5 seconds to about 2 seconds.
    3. Select Share, choose H.264, 1024 kb/s from the relevant option and after the movie making happens, the quality is obviously inferior to that from +QT Pro+.
*QUES 1*: Why is the quality inferior?
I have been to iMovie help and noticed this comment:
"When you import clips in a format different from your project, they are converted to the video format of your movie."
*QUES 2*: Is this why my jpeg image is losing quality? Is iMovie converting it to something else?
Further, when the jpeg image is first imported, it is assigned a clip time of 5 seconds. When I move one of the sliders to reduce the time to just a few seconds, I notice that a black band appears at the top of the image in the iMovie window and as I make the time smaller, the image zooms in and the black band becomes wider. Letterboxing at the top seems to be occuring. This I can't fathom.
*QUES 3*: Why does iMovie zoom in when I adjust time?
Any comments most appreciated, especially those that tell me if iMovie can make a movie from jpeg images with the same quality as QT Pro -- and how to do that.

Re the quality -- I think I have answered this one myself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that when I select a video option (DV, HD 1080 and so on), iMovie sets up a frame size to suit, and the frame size that iMovie sets up for MPEG-4 happens to be 640 x 480, thus the poor quality of my jpegs when I selected that option. The poor quality had nothing to do with the MPEG-4 format.
Now the interesting things is, MPEG-4 is not limited to 640 x 480. It can be any size. So my question is:
Ques: Can I set up a movie within iMovie that is any size I want? QT Pro gave better results because it allows any size movie at all, and thus adjusted the movie size to my jpeg size (1800 x 1200 pixels) when I imported an image from my digital camera.
As it stands, not even the highest quality option in +iMovie 5.0.2+ (HD 1080) can handle the images from my piddly-little 2 megapixel camera.

  • Jpeg Images/Delay Help

I'm at a lost of the right approach to use.... All I want is
to have a flash on my website that I can load different jpeg
(images) in after a 3-5second delay. So when I show the first image
it waits for 3 seconds then loads the second image. Keeps going to
all images have been shown. Once the last image is shown it starts
all over. Can someone point me in the right direction, this is
driving me nuts..... All this needs to happen automatically with
    out buttons etc.....

if you are willing for the users just to wait 3 seconds and
then load an image, you will find something at kiupa.com
->tutorials->slideshow. So basically you won`t have exactly 3
    secs between images
if your files are so large/users connection is so slow that
you have to peload all images, i doubt anyone will be around long
    enough to view your slideshow

  • How to load .jpeg images dynamically

    Hi all,
I am only perfect with basics of AS3 and flash. I need AS3
code or a basic example/tutorial for loading of .jpeg images into
flash from database.I had searched through google, but, any of the
    example won't match.
Please, If anyone has their ideas, atleast send me the
algorithm for your idea, so that i can try by implementing the
    idea.
I think, once again when I open this topic, i will be
    getting my requirement.
Thanks a lot in advance. Reply me soon.. It is urgent..
    Srihari.Ch

    The loading is easy:
    var l:Loader = new Loader();
    l.load( new URLRequest( "
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/images/214x74/adc_lockup.jpg"
    addChild( l )
But the database part, well... what kind of database did you
    have in mind?
Store the images on disk and just have their path in the
database or have the images as blob in the database. Are you
looking for serverside script and SQL aswell? It's a question with
    a lot of different answers...

  • On CS5, how can I recover jpeg images that were Batch Renamed prior to removal from my flashcard?

On CS5, how can you recover JPEG images that were accidentally Batch Renamed prior to removal from a flash card? Is it a total lose or can they be saved somehow?

If they were renamed on the flash card that is a poor practice.  If renamed in Bridge the old names can be recovered it you have checked "preserve original name in XMP".  If not you are out of luck.  But you still have the images correct?

  • Fickle Jpeg images; why will some not open?

This is a strange experience which remains unresolved. I have received reports that some of my jpeg images, usually derived from tiffs or raw files, cannot be opened when delivered. Many of my tiffs start life as original film scans, whereas the remainder are generally derived from a variety of digital cameras. Yet the same images open perfectly well in PS CS2 during final examination.
I am beginning to suspect that the culprit is Lightroom (V1.2 & V1.3). Why? Well it appears to occur only when some images are imported into LR for processing and then exported for final checks in CS2 before uploading or delivery by CD. I am still trying to diagnose the cause and find a remedy because it is wasting a lot of time with repeat processing. Meanwhile I wonder if any member has experienced jpegs behaving unpredictably after using Lightroom?

Across the top are the thumbnail photos. At the bottom is the menu bar with Info, Compare, Rotate, Crop etc. The photo is in the centre of the screen and is approximately 4 inches by 6 inches in size. The rest of the screen is black. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

  • How to set color space to JPEG image with Java advance Imaging

How to set color space to JPEG image with Java advance Imaging.
is there any API in JAI which support to set color space.

I'm definately no guru, but this is how you can change it.
CTRL + ALT + Click on the part of the component that you want to change. This brings up the Hidden Dom Inspector, background of component will be surrounded with a red outline (Make sure the red outline is surrounding the part of the tabset you want to change), Now you go to properties sheet and click the ellipses next to rules property this will pop up a dialog you look in this list (At the top) to see the default style classes that are affecting the rendering of the component outlined in red. (You will be able to select different sections of a single component) then you just rewrite the style class that you want to change in your Stylesheet (You will not find the styleclass that you want to change because it is a part of your theme .jar but as long as you name it exactly the same and place in your stylesheet it will override the theme .jar style classes) it's actually very easy -- you were right should be a piece of cake for a guru. Don't have the link handy but you can check out Winston's Blog on changing Table Formatting to get this information...It is EXTREMELY useful if you want your apps to have a custom look and not default that comes with Creator Themes.
Hope this helps you out God knows others have helped me alot!

  • Finder Crashing When Opening Folders Containing JPEG Images

    Here's my odd problem.
Finder seems to work okay until I open folders with certain JPEG images in them. Specifically, it seems to crash whenever I open a folder that has images taken with my old Oregon Scientific camera. It gets a little bit annoying, because once I open the folder, Finder crashes... and then it re-launches, +with the problem window still open+... which causes it to crash immediately upon re-opening. And then it re-launches again, again with the same window open, which causes it to crash again, and on and on into the night.
Incidentally... these images also seem to crash Preview. I never had any problem with this before. They worked fine under 10.5, they worked fine under 10.4... they even work fine on OS9. I've tried turning off icon previews, I've tried list view and icon view and coverflow and all that, and it crashes every single time.
If I use GraphicConverter to re-save the images WITHOUT the EXIF data, then Finder seems to be okay. But considering I have nearly a thousand images that were taken with that (decidedly unsophisticated) camera, it's really an inconvenience to convert every single one. On top of it, I'd kind of like to keep my EXIF data where it is.
I'm really kind of starting to regret not waiting for 10.6.1 before installing, because I've encountered problem after problem... and my fiance's iMac is almost unusable, it's so buggy. Most of the issues I've encountered I can live with, at least long enough for Apple to release an update... but this Finder issue is killing me, because I can't even access my photos.
Anyone have this same issue, or some idea of how to fix it?

I've duplicated this behavior on both my MacBook and my fiance's iMac, which are both running 10.6. With my 10.4-enabled G4 and iMac G3, there's no problems.
I think I've at least figured out the actual cause. I just opened a folder of pictures taken with my Oregon Scientific DShot II camera, and it didn't crash the Finder, nor did it kill Preview. The EXIF data was intact. The difference was that with these images, I'd edited them and re-saved with GraphicConverter when I first took them.
After repeating the tests with some other pictures, I think that the problem isn't so much with the EXIF data as it is with the +preview image+. The DShot II camera saves some kind of a preview image (which isn't very good). When I edited these images with GraphicConverter, the application added it's own custom preview, overwriting the original.
For some reason, Finder (and Preview, though I don't know why) handle GraphicConverter's preview image, but can't seem to be able to deal with the preview image that the DS2 embedded into the image. Why this should change with 10.6, when all previous versions of the software worked perfectly fine, I have no idea.

  • JPEG image?

When I insert a JPEG image into Flash CS4 I am never allowed to edit the image, why is this?
    Thank you, Darius.

put your bitmap on stage and while it's still selected click modify/bitmap/trace bitmap.  you can generate a photo-quality vector by choosing very strict settings or a more cartoon like vector by loosening the settings.  experiment.

  • Scaling Binary JPEG images

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
I am extracting JPEG images stored in a blob field in a DB. I can obtain the bytes of the JPEG in a couple different ways but I have had no luck in scaling the images.
I need to simple scale the image, and then return the new image preferably in a byte[] or something that I can convert to a byte[].
I have come accross several past post, and at times seems to work. None of them actually return an image or errors so I am not sure where it fails.
I tried a modified version of the following which was an example on making thumbnails out of a larger image.
Here's the url to that example
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/TechTips/1999/tt1021.html
After modifying the code, when I went to test I recieved a weird error in a log file that basically said something could not use :0 which is refering to my monitor.
This is and will be used in a Linux env, but does not or should not invlove X in anyway. I have come accross other example that talk about a frame.addnotify() method that is supposed to resolve this issue when not outputing to a monitor.
After adding that, the error is not there, but neither is my scaled image.(which wasn't there before either)
If this sound strange, that's beacuse I am creating a custom Generator object. Generator being a Servlet created by Macromedia to generate Flash movies and etc. on the fly.
For some reason in the API it lacks the ability to scale a JPEG image. Yet to be able to put the image into Flash, I must get the image's byte[].
Please help, I have played around with this one for some time now, and have tried more things than I could document here.
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
