Flash Player 10 compatibility
We just installed CS4 Production Premium, which also installs
Flash Player 10. The videos placed in Captivate 3 will no longer
play in preview or when published. They do play in another PC with
Flash Player 9. We had the same issue in Articulate and they
created a patch. It even searched the hard drives and patched what
was published on the hard drive. Then it must be pushed up to the
LMS however.
Is Adobe away of this?
Rick Pruitt
Hi all
I've seen several reports of this issue since Flash 10 was
released. To my knowledge, the only "fix" is to downgrade your
Flash Player/Active control. Perhaps consider reverting to version
8.
Cheers... Rick

Flash Player 9 compatibility issue
Hi - I was hoping someone out there can offer a suggestion
for a problem we are finding with Flash Player 9. I have,
incidentally, contacted Adobe but they offer no support for FP9.
We have created an online word game, called Linkudo, that is
played in Flash Player via an internet browser. Linkudo can be
found at: www.linkudo.com.
The game functions by players clicking a button on Flash
Player which sends a command to a remote server's database for a
new selection of words. The remote server's database then returns a
new selection of words to the Flash Player which displays the words
and the game continues.
There is a problem for some players using Macs and PCs.
Macs:
Players upgrading to OSX10.4.11 and OSX10.5 can see the Flash
device using Firefox and Safari, but
the Flash device does not display new word selections.
Players using pre-OSX10.4.11 do not have
this problem.
PCs:
Linkudo can be played using IE7, but not using Firefox.
I assume that there might be a security issue which is
preventing the data from the remote server displaying in Flash
Player? I would like to know what can be done to allow total
compatibility.
All comments welcome! Thanks, Tony.I went back to Flash Player 8 and it works fine. I guess I
will stay with Flash Player 8 until an update that fixes the
problem comes out. Is it any version of Flash Player 9 that doesn't
work or just the latest? -
Adobe Flash Player not compatable with Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2
I installed Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 and I noticed Adobe
Flash Player 10 was not compatable with it, so I had to downgrade
back to Internet Explorer 7. Does anybody know if Adobe is
developing a flash player that is compatable with IE 8? I know IE 8
is still in beta, but when it gets released I want to be able to
download it and have Adobe Flash Player work in it.I am on my home computer and version 10.2.159.1 is installed. Interestingly, it appears that it is installed correctly. I can view Youtube flash videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8tSMKGbnW0 and browse to the Adobe home page and view the flash. However, if I go to certain websites

Flash Player-MP3 Compatibility Issue
Does Flash Player 10 hav any compatibility issues in Playing CBR MP3. The reason why I am asking is because of the observation which I made (Given Below)
I am right now working on a module "Live Streaming Codecs" for an e-learning application. I used Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder to encode my Live Class using VP6/MP3 & streamed it using Flash media server 3.5. During Testing I observerd a few hitches and breaks in 'Audio' (Streamed at 56kbps @44.1Khz Sample Rate encoded using ) in the client machine. However the video was fine. The Flash player version is 10. The same problem was there on all clients. But if I used AAC for audio (Encoded using VLC & streamed using Wowza Media Server) the audio was fine. So does this prove that Flash Player does have some Compatibility Issues with MP3 or is it some problem with my settings?
Please help me out to resolve this issue !

Specific Flash Player 10 Backward Compatibility Issue
There's an issue with backward compatibility on Flash Player
10 that is breaking a lot of Flash content that was created with a
tool that I develop and sell. It is to do with the way
globalToLocal and localToGlobal handles NaN.
I've reported it on the bugbase at
https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-964
There are more details here -
http://www.questionwriterblog.com/archives/2008/11/scrollbar_causing_content_to_disappear. html
The impact of the bug can be seen here.
http://www.questionwriter.com/samples/fp10problem/v1perceptions.swf
It is a serious enough backward compatibility issue, and
doubtless affects other content too. I'm hoping for the outcome
that the functionality will be restored in future player releases -
but right now, can someone give me confirmation it is on the Flash
Player team radar?bump!

Any known issues with Flash player 9 and windows 2003 compatibility?
Hi guys..
Is there any known compatibility problem with running flash
applications
on Windows 2003 Server?
My application runs just so well with Windows XP
yet it throws a 2015 bitmap error
when it is being run on the windows 2003 server.
(Not quite often but often enough. the only difference is the
operating
system)
Is there any known issue about this?
Or could there be any compatibility problem with flash player
and
windows 2003?
Any hints would be deeply appreciated...
Thank you...Hyperion 32-bit Web Apps are fully compatible with Essbase 64-bit. Same with 32-bit Essbase client.

Is Flash Player 11.7.700.224 really compatable with Windows Vista 64-bit?
I ask this question because under System Requirements, Window Vista 64-bit isn't listed. I've inserted the link for the system requirements below...
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html
I'm trying to figure why my Flash Player disappears from time to time when I'm watching a clip/video and then my Internet Explorer 9 typically stops working, it closes down, and then it opens up and asks me if I want to restore the browsing session. I'm thinking that this has to do with having both Internet Explorer 9 32-bit and 64-bit. I read online that Internet Explorer 9 has both and this is why I'm questioning whether Flash Player 11.7.700.224 might be contributing to this issue or was Window Vista 64-bit left off the system requirements in error?
Thanks!Try using the installers from the links in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550
P.S. topic moved to the Installation section of the forum. -
Is there a fix for a Flash Player compatibility problem?.
My computer is a imac g4 1.25 Ghz 17 inch flat panel running OS X 10.4.11 and can no longer view anything on the internet that uses the newest version of flash player. I have tried to upgrade to that version but it won't work on my computer. When I try to download it I get this message "Devices with powerpc processors are no longer supported." Is there a fix for this?
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25, 10.3.x beta, or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
* Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. The first one on the list, Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.
It works for me. -
Backward compatability with Flash player
Hey Guys,
I've been creating a site using as3 in flash CS4, however my
client has a large customer base that inludes people in large
companies that dont have the latest flash drivers installed on
their computers and dont have the admistrative privalidges to
update the drivers themselves. After testing with a select few
customers my client has foud that 50% of their clients are not able
to view the site prototype. I have therefore attempted to publish
the site setting the Flash player to 9 rather than 10, however when
I test the site all the animated elements are frozen! If anyone has
an idea how to resolve these issues I'm all ears :D
Thanks in advance,
DaveIf you have used the newer tween techniques it will fail. You
would need to go back and redo them as Classic Tweens. -
Which flash player to export to is best in compatibility.
I develop these site in PHP BB BMW Dubai and Porsche Dubai but failed to rotate images in top banner. After lot of dissapointment, i recently converted that baner with 6 small pictures than 2 big pictures (previously).
Now im thinking of changing or rotating those 6 pictures in flash. So my question is which flash player is the bestest to export to, i mean level fl5,6,7,8. I dont wanna export at most recent as it might bug users to upgrade their old flash player, when they browse my content.
Also please let me know if there are known issues anyone knows about PHPbb stuff with flash files. I will be experimenting this for first time. As in Dubai at least i have not seen any one site using flash in PHP BB, as people dont detailing attention to community board.
Thanks in advance.

Backward compatibility of Flash Player, Ver. 9.0
One week ago today, I upgraded my Adobe Flash Player to Ver.
9.0.47.0. Today, I used it for the first time in an attempt to view
a slide show with audio commentary on a web site. The first picture
of the slide show displays, but the slide show does not progress
from there and, as a result, I can not hear the audio. I tried to
contact the web site and ask them what version of Flash Player they
had used to create the slide show but, so far, no response from
them..
Does anyone know of any incompatibility issues with Ver. 9.0
and earlier versions? If so, can anyone tell me what I have to do
to downgrade to a version of Flash Player that is earlier than
9.0?There is a document under development that covers all the
admin stuff for distributing the licensed Flash Player. However,
it's not public yet. That's where these details are going to be,
officially.
Right now, all we really have is " IT administrators Flash
Player FAQ" (
http://www.adobe.com/go/b0dba60b).
The upcoming doc will be much more sophisticated..
For distribution purposes you must license the Flash Player
installer via

Mobile device compatibility. Re: Adobe flash player
Is the archived version or the latest Adobe flash player, compatible with an HTC EVODesign4g device with Google Chrome.
Hi George, 1st I'd go to this site & see if it says that version is installed...
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about
Also, did you Repair Permissions & reboot after the Install?
If you want to downgrade after all, then get the uninstaller for your version then go here...

urami_, please be careful - he asked about 16bit UNCOMPRESSED
PCM, as
it was described in the threadstarting post! ADPCM is a
compressed
format, which really is not recommended for use in FLV. It's
strange
that PCM is not supported, as it is declared in the FLV
specification.
