Flash Player 10 runs slowly

A recent update to Adobe Flash Player, version 10,1,12,36 has
been giving problems to loading certain web site pages. The most
irritating site is the initial page at AccuWeather.com. While I
await the page to fully load, I get this error message: "A script
in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it
continues to run your computer may become unresponsive. Do you wand
to abort the script? Yes No" The movie is actually a video player
that contains viewer-selectable recent weather news items.
Can someone please tell me what to do so that I can go back
to using AccuWeather?
Apple iMac with Intel Processor & OS 10.5.6

I have the same player, but on Win XP SP3
The page loads fine for me in both IE7 and Chrome.
Regardless, this message typically comes up because there is
an error in the script of the SWF that bogs things down. The only
way to get by this is for the creators of the flash (the people at
AccuWeather.com) to fix the problem.

  • Adobe Flash Player running slowly

On both Safari 4.0.3 and Firefox 3.0.13, I am getting regular messages saying: A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive".
Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Flash Player, or is am I missing something?

I've seen this before and attribute it to bad scripting of the Flash in the web page. (I guess)...

  • Retina Display Support not working with Flash Player run applets

When running flash player run websites (e.g. games or Youtube) the flash player applet fails to render for the Retina Display in the new Firefox 18 (although websites render for the retina display).
Flash player renders everything including flash applets for the retina display in other browsers (Safari, Chrome)

  • FF now freezes ~every 10 mins. Get Adboe "script in this movie is causing Flash to run slowly." reinstalled FF and have latest versions of FF&Flash. Help pls

Have used FF since v1. NEVER had a problem. NOW it freezes like every 10 minutes from any random web page on computers at home AND work. Have researched this and have done the following: 1) reinstalled FF, 2) updated to latest versions of both FF and Adobe Flash per instructions here. It still freezes.
The message I get is: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?"
Then a dialog box that you can't click in eventually after 2-5 mins FF starts working again - until it doesn't.
I "heart" FF - but don't have the time to troubleshoot and fiddle with my browser just so it works. Looks like I am being FORCED to make the move to Chrome, which is a shame.
    Anything I can do?
    Thanks!

'''Try the Firefox Safe Mode''' to see how it works there. The Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.''
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4.0+ Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Don't select anything right now, just use "'Start in Safe Mode"''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shift key) to open it again.''
'''''If it is good in the Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.

  • Flash Player runs slow on my Mac

When I browse flash websites on my Mac the flash movies run really slowly. I have the latest versions of flash player installed and I as a web designer I run Flash 8 on my machine.
Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted or could have been changed to affect the flash player on my machine?

Do you have the lastest beta?
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/public_beta/
If not, then try it, it may bring the speed up to your liking. If you do have the beta, then it may be what is causing the slow-down.

  • Flash player runs slow

How do I correct this error message: "A script in this movie
is causing Adobe Flash player to run slowly. If it continues to
run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort
    the script?

This only happens when I am playing an online game with
"CLUB.LIVE.COM.SEEKADOO" Then I am promped to click yes or now. If
I click no, the game freezes up. If I click yes, the game runs at
warp speed. No matter what I choose, I am not able to play the
    game.

  • Why won't Adobe flash player run on my Macbook?

I go to the CNN site and their videos don't run. Instead they leave a message telling me to get Adobe Flash player, which I have done, apparently successfully, at least a dozen times. I've also uninstalled it and installed it again. This is an endless loop and I would be very happy to exit and watch the videos on the site or that people send me. Can anyone help me, please? I have a Macbook from about 2006, OS X 10.6.8. 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo. 1 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.
    Many thanks.

  • Flash animations run slowly on Internet Explorer 9

    Hi all,
I recently downloaded and installed the Internet Explorer 9 RC from Microsoft and updated my Flash player to version 10,2,152,26 .  I am having issues running Flash animations and other Flash objects within that browser. All of them, even the animation on http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about is sluggish and jerky on my computer. On the flash videos on YouTube, the entire page will not even render, and a black box will show up where the video is. I will be able to hear the audio from the video, but the video itself will not play. I cannot control anything on the page, and my CPU usage skyrockets to 100% and holds there. I have not been having this problem on any other pages, and I have IE9 set to software rendering as opposed to GPU rendering.
    Computer Specs:
3 GHz single core AMD Athlon Processor
    2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 5200 FX (AGP 8x) with driver version 9.6.8.5 (latest)
    Windowws 7 Ultimate
    Flash Player 10,2,152,26

I have a hp computer with win 7. core i7, 10gb ram, plenty of power etc. I cannot get ticketmaster pages with the choose your own seats to ever run smoothly. its so darn choppy i cant use firefox to ever search. Also have that issue on say ticketnetwork.com when searching for seats. I know ticketnetwork is using flash and im pretty sure ticketmaster is also. IE works fine as does chrome. is there a solution to fix this?

    Hi bjo16,
Thank you for your question. Currently you have two installations of the Shockwave Flash player. Please uninstall the older version to see if there are improvements.

  • Flash Player Run Time in YouTube

The last time I updated Flash Player I began to have a problem with runtime for YouTube videos (only YouTube).  The video runs for 56 - 59 seconds and then freezes.  The only way to view videos longer than 60 seconds is to refresh and select the time that the video froze at and I need to repeat this process every 56 - 59 seconds.  What is my problem?  How do I solve this issue?

Hello, It seems that F.P. 10 installs in Firefox with no problems. In IE many are having issues.
Which Windows version are you using?
    Which version of I.E.?
Please list all Adobe programs that are listed in Add/Remove
Also, all ActiveX in Manage Add ons, including name, Status, Type and File
Are you using Google and or Yahoo Tool bars?
Thanks, perhaps with this information, I can take a look at what the problem might be.

  • Flash player run around

hi I'm trying to re-install Adobe Flash Player onto my Acer Aspire ONE 721 netbook(approx 6 mths old) after I had a new hard drive fitted quite recently to operate Oxford i pack DVD for my teaching job and I keep getting the run around. I have tried for two days to install this program and the computor is showing that I have downloaded it but the i-pack is telling my that to run the program I need Adobe Flash Player. I have deleted and tried to re-install the software but now all I'm getting is the download page telling my to download now with Google Chrome which I accept then it goes to the next page which tell me that it will come with Mcfee Security Scan Plus which I at first said no but now (just to get this thing onto my box to start working) i accept which then puts me back to the Google Chrome page and so on.I have deleted all programs to do with this effort and re-installed to see if this helps. I am using internet 9 and avast antivirus and I have used this Oxford i pack on this netbook before the new hard drive so don't see what the problem is, I have downloaded Adobe Reader X this morning and it is working fine so I now my connection is/was good.
can anybody help me as I'm really annoyed now and need to resolve this problem soon

Methinks you need a Spanish-English dictionary.
    Hi Carl
Never a truer word spoken Sir about the dictionary
I need more experience and help from people like yourself to aid people like me thru these problems!!!!!!!.
I now can use flash player as I went to a computer shop here close to home and explained the problems and after an hour the technician got the blessed thing working finally by uninstalling then downloading flashplayer on the shop computer then installing via memory stick and to solve the language problem he is installing windows 7 ultimate as the copy of windows 7 home premium I have doesn't allow a change of language to English, any other language except English.
So the way that I got my problem sorted was firstly went to somebody who understood computers better than me and secondly he downloaded the Flashplayer program on memory stick on the shops computer and then reinstalling it onto my computer
Thank you all for you advice and input and now hopefully this might help a few of you out there,if not keep on asking because sooner or later somebody will can up with a suggestion that will help you

  • Flash Player runs ad movies ???

A current version of Flash Player (or maybe Shockwave ???)
was recently downloaded onto my computer. This allows ads that
appear when I am on a web page to play as a movie/video. (Before
the upgrade, the ads appeared just as a still picture.) Some of
these video ads are VERY distracting because of the hyper-speed of
the ad content. What should I do on a global basis to turn off the
video ability of these "movie ads"? Many Thanks. TomPeters

Are you running the latest version of your browser? I remember I had issues with streaming videos with Flash when I was running a very outdated version of my browser.

  • Flash player runs slow, jerky, performance problems (Apple OS 10.4.7)

I'm working on a Macintosh 1.35GHz PowerPC G4 Mac OSX version
10.4.7. I have Flash Player 9 installed on my machine. When I run
games on the Neopets web site (yes, I am an adult and yes the games
are actually fun) many of them are so jerky and slow that they are
completely unplayable. I have the same problem on another machine
(Dual 2Ghz processor, Mac OS 10.4.7). What's weird is that the
games used to run faster. I believe the slowdown occured in one of
my recent OS updates. I've tried this with both Safari and Firefox
and have the same problem with both.
In particular: Moon Rock Rampage (try picking up a piece or
killing a creature - both will grind to a halt), which can be seen
    here:

Hi, LOL at my screen moniker. That's interesting that the FF beta has an Option for that. The only problem, is that I have heard that each browser must UNcheck the H.A. I'm sure you'll find out.
Hope that works at least for FF. Let me know if you have time.
I've been checking out Apple TV and Google TV. Just saved the links and some info, haven't had time to go further. I'd prefer Apple TV over Google tho.
I have a 55" HD Sony/Blu-ray Surround Sound Speakers, etc. I hooked up the VGA cable for Internet, and WOW on the Screen/Monitor!! Now I'm thinking about the iPhone 4 with VZ too, on their pre-order list for 2/3/11!
Hard to keep up with the Technology, moving faster today for some reason.
We are under the Snow & Ice warning, getting it now. Hope I don't lose power! If so, I'll be offline for sure.
If I find anything on that H.A. for IE, I'll let you know.
    Thanks,

  • Flash player running at 99% or more

I have noticed that running Flash Player outside of Firefox in the native app that it runs at 99% or more. Is this a common problem and is there a solution?

Are you able to provide a URL for others to try and see what performance they get? By the way, you're using the current version of Flash Player right?
