Flash Player 11.2.202.233 will not update. "Encountered Error" .

I am attempting manual update of Flash Player 11.2.202.233 on XP, Firefox 8, IE 5.5. "Encountered Error" screen pops up. No previous issues with installs or updated of the flash player.
Thanks

I'm also unable to load video on either Mac or Win with the www.tvnz.co.nz/video site.  However, I suspect I might be running into a content protection issue based on my location.
As for the orcon.net.nz page, does any part of the page load for you?

I need the updates because I just purchased a Nikon D60 and my Photoshop does not read the .NEF files produced by the camera.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
Do you really mean the Nikon D60 which shipped in 2008? Was it purchased secondhand?
The Nikon D60 was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw 4.4.
Photoshop CS4 ships with Camera Raw 5.0 so it can read D60 NEF files out of the box. No updates required.
If you do mean the D60 then something else must be going on. e.g. are you using Nikon software to transfer files from camera to computer?

  • Issue with Safari 5.1.5 and Flash Player 11.2.202.233

Many times, but not all the time, I get a message that I need to downlaod and install the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player when trying to view a video.  Or the message says that the video is optimized for Adobe Flash Player 10.1 or higher - here is a link to a CNN video where this happens for me -  http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c3#/video/world/2012/05/01/vo-dog-guards-bike.c hiway-entertainment.
I do have the latest verson of Player installed as of 5/1/2012 - 11.2.202.233.  I'm running Safara 5.1.5 on OS X 10.7.3 on a 15" MacBook Pro (circa mid-2010).  The frustrating thing is that I do not have this problem when accessing any videos using Firefox 4.0.  I prefer using Safari over Firefox.  Is there anything I can do to fix this problem.  BTW, I can't remeber the Player version I had previously, but I had no problems with using it in Safari - problems started only after I installed the latest version... and, yes, I did choose Safari as the preferred browser during the Player installation.

    Hi..
Since you have the most recent version of Flash installed, if you see a message to download from a non Adobe site, just ignore it. And never download anything Flash related from anywhere but the Adobe website.
For v10.7.3 Lion open System Preferences > Flash Player the select the Advanced tab.
    Select:  Check for updates automatically
Or you can click the Check Now button anytime.
Now select the Storage tab. If you have problems using Flash, click Delete All.
Could you please take a moment and update your profile to reflect your Mac OS X version to v10.7.3
Top right side of this page click Your Stuff > Profile
Then click Edit to the right of My Products.
    Thanks!

  • Flash Player 10.3.183.10 will not work in Safari on Mac OS X 10.5.8

    Mac OS X 10.5.8
    Safari 5.0.6
    Flash Player 10.3.183.10
Flash Player10.3.183.10 will not work in Safari on Mac OS x 10.5.8
The instillation says that it is successful, however when using Safari I'm informed I do not have flash player installed. When I check the hard drive, flash player in no where to be found. I have tried all of the troubleshooting from the Adobe website, and I am still stumped. I was able to get the Flash Player to run in firefox 5.0, but not Safari.
Please Help!!!! I have searched the discussion boards for days now in my spare time and have not been able to find an answer.
I am not the most savvy person with computers, what am I missing here??

    In my Library/Internet Plug-ins folder I have a file named Flash Player.plugin (it's 22.8 MB however, not 23.9mb) and another named flashplayer.xpt (it's 4 KB however, not856 bytes).
I am unable to open the Plug-Ins menu (the browser pops up but wont load)...is there another way to check for Shockwave Flash?? When I do a search for "Shockwave" on my hard drive I do find a plug-in named "DirectorShockwave.plugin" (76 KB)
Also...The "Open using Rosetta" checkbox was already unchecked

  • Flash Player seems to install, but will not function

Flash Player installs but does not work.  When I go to the troubleshooting website (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html), the box does not fill with information.  If I right click where the box should be however, the menu shows the version and acts as if AFP is installed.  I cannot select settings, but can select global settings.  The global settings dialog box will open.
I am using AFP version 11.7.700.169, using IE 9, and running Windows 7.  I have 2 other PCs, and both are running the program fine.  So far, I have tried many things to troubleshoot with no luck.
    So far:
-Complete uninstall, using the Adobe uninstaller.  I have deleted the folders and content as well, shut down, and tried reinstall.
-I have deleted the registry entry and also tried setting it to zero located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}.
-I am using Norton 360, and have tried an install with all services stopped (Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Auto protect, etc)
-I have verified Active X filtering is not checked in IE.
-Active X and Scripting options in IE>Tools>Internet Options are enabled and mirror the selections on the two working PCs.
-I have tried to uninstall and reinstall an earlier version of AFP with no luck.
-Shockwave Flash Object Addon is enabled.
Screen shot is included to show what happens on the redirect screen after I install AFP.
I am out of ideas and would appreciate any help on this.
    Thanks!

I'm a little disappointed in the forums - no responses.  I'm happy to share I found the issue, and am sharing the solution in case others have the same problem.  The interesting thing is the setting that I changed is different on the two working computers.  In IE9 navigate to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced and the first check box under Accelerated Graphics...check it.  Restart IE and voila, it is fixed.  The other two PCs I am using have this box unchecked and AFP works fine...odd.

  • Where can I get the direct download for flash player 11.2.202.233 for Vista 32 bit?

I will uninstall the previous flas player 11.2.202.228 and do a clean fresh install.

Your waisting your time, still does the same as 228, not fixed anything on video viewing side of things, i still get pauses after each frame on some sights right to the end, but before 11.2 i was fine, still get green screens, popping sound, degrading picture when i move the slider at the bottom, still picture but sound still carries on, ive tried 11.2 on all nvidia drivers, its the same. Ive had to cancel subscriptions becazuse the player doesnt work with there sights, i just get a smooth running picture untill the next frame then it stops and starts after each damn frame, so annoying, if it was my OS then the previous player to 11.2 wouldnt work either, the beta was exactly the same.

  • Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77 will not install on mozilla firefox 27.0.1

I am using Windows XP.  I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77 and installed it on my computer.  I opened Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1 and went to Youtube.  I clicked on a video to watch and received the following:
The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback.
    Get the latest Flash Player.
I opened Control Panel of my computer and saw that Adobe Flash Player is indeed installed.  So why is Firefox not using it?

It seems to work in my system. However, to get a reasonable answer you should ask in the Flash forum and not this one.

  • Flash Player 12.0.0.4 will not install to Safari & Firefox OSX 10.7.5

I have gone through the "clean install" process posted in this forum 3 times now in an attempt to get FP 12.0.0.4 to install to Safari. I have downloaded 12.0.0.4 and run the install process. It successfully installs to Chrome but each time, Safari and Firefox again end up with 12.0.0.38! Then if I go back to the check Flash Player page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
It will tell me 12.0.0.4 is the current verison that should be installed.
If I go to Mozilla's check plugins page https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
It will tell me that 12.0.0.38 is installed for FF and is "up to date."
So, is 12.0.0.4 only for Chrome or what?

    Ok. Thanks Mike.
It would be nice if Adobe published the correct information then.
The Flash Player page specifically shows 12.0.0.4 for Safari, FireFox and Opera. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Correct info would have prevented a pointless waste of time. The other Flash Player test page also reports the wrong information when viewing via Safari and FF.

  • Am running Vista and it shows Adobe flash player 100% installed but it will not work. I have uninstalled numerous times and still no luck. Had success on older computer running XP. I have searched the net and attempted numerous options but to no avail.

Adobe Flash player states it is installed and gives the current version but when I attempt to view a video it tells me to download the newest flash player however it showed I have installed it.
When I go to uninstall programs it does not show any files have been downloaded for the program... so I have uninstalled; restarted; re-installed under administrator; turned off any virus protection and firewalls... etc.
Basically I have tried everything I have seen posted.
    I need help!!!!

Do you have NoScript or Flashblock or some similar Extension installed? If so, are you allowing the site, at least on a temporary basis, access by such an Extension?
Your Shockwave for Director is out of date. You can check here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
To update it, use the link on the page below under "Installing Shockwave", download and save to your hard drive, close Firefox, click the file you downloaded, after the install, open Firefox and check on the above link again.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94 will not install in Mac

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94 into my MacBook OS 10.8.4 but everytime ot gets to 50% I get an error message saying Please quit the follwong programs to continue. Safari. et my Safari is closed. I have tried closing via CMD+Q and tried to install via Finder when I haven't even opended Safari at all. It is starting to get very annoying

Thank you, CF. I can't find my original post re this problem, but the "clean install" finally worked.Thank you so much and everyone else who chimed it. This is the way to go. However, I had to do it 4 times before it finally worked. So my advice is print out the instructions and folow them to the letter. Don't be discouraged if they don't work immediately. Go through the whole thing again and again if you need to. It WILL work.
