  • Flash Player: Connection failed. Unable to complete installation. Mac OSX

I'm working on a mac running 10.10.1 Yosemite in Safari. My current Flash version is 15.0.0.
On most videos and pictures it now says 'Your Flash Player is out of date".
I've clicked on this icon, which opens saying do you want to download the newest version, and clicked yes.
I've downloaded Adobe Flash Player Update several times.
The downloading always works, the problem is with the installation:
It failed the first time, and all following times it 'picks up' at about 30% then goes up all the way to 97% (sometimes 99%) and then says: Connection failed. Unable to complete installation.
I've tried all the links in the forums saying download directly from here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg - but safari can't find the link.
I wanted to deinstall Flash Player and found this link on the adobe website(Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS): http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player_os x.dmg -> but it says "Safari can't find the server fpdownload.macromedia.com" so I can't even uninstall it!
I have no idea what else to try???
I also tried to open all those links in Firefox and Chrome and they weren't found there either.
Has anyone ideas what I can do? All the links that I found in the forum which solved the problem for others are 'not found' when I click on them.
    Thanks for any tipps!!!

How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X
I wrote those instructions. They're how I installed Flash Player on my new Mini.

  • Flash Player - Terminal Server/Remote Desktop

I am running Windows Server 2003. When I login directly as
administrator, I can install Flash Player from the Adobe website.
Then when I login via Remote Desktop as administrator, Flash Player
is detected and works in IE. However, when I login via Remote
Desktop as a regular user, Flash Player is not detected. I believe
the problem is that I have to install Flash Player from the Control
Panel->Add/Remote Program. To do this, I need a setup.exe file
for Flash Player. Do you know where I can one? Thanks in
    advance.

Well I had the same issues and spent 3 days looking on the internet for solutions and trying many of them and nothing worked by itself. But when I took 3 of the solutions and mixed them together it work like a charm. Below is what I did to get my terminal server users able to use flash.
    1.       Logon to the server as the local administrator or with an account with admin rights that does not map a home folder like H:. if your home folder is mapped it the installer will think windows directory is h:\windows instead of c:\windows. I used the local administrator account.
    2.       Download the Adobe flash uninstaller from here http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
    3.       Put it in a folder like c:\temp on the terminal server
    4.       Open a command prompt and go the folder you saved the uninstall_flash_player.exe in
    5.       At the prompt type uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean
    6.       Click the Details button. If it lists any files as "Delete on reboot", then reboot now. Otherwise, just carry on.
    7.       Download the latest Flash Player (10 in this instance) as a standalone version and save it to the hard drive/ network share. Get the standalone version 10 from here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_playe r_10_active_x.exe
    8.       Use the Control Panel Add/Remove programs method to install it. This ensures that the Windows install notification API triggers correctly (as opposed to executing change user /install in a command prompt).
    9.       Use regedit and find the following 3 keys and do the same for all 3 keys: right click the key select permissions, select everyone and remove before clicking apply select the Advanced button and click the Replace permissions on all child objects, click Ok then Yes on the security window then Apply. Now Add everyone and click on Read then Advance button and click the Replace permissions on all child objects, click Ok then Yes on the security window then Ok. Now repeat on the next 2 keys. (By clicking Read then Advanced it selects a few other permissions so please do it this way)
    a.       HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}
    b.      HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D27CDB70-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000}
    c.       HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{D27CDB6B-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}
    10.   I then logged off and logged on as a standard user and went to a site needing Flash and it worked.
    11.   I then had some users try it without even logging out and it work for them.
This is what worked for me on all 3 of the 2003 Terminal Servers with IE7 needing Flash 10.
I hope this might help someone else as this has driven me up a wall…

  • Stage3d will always fall back to software mode when using flash player 11.6 content debugger

I just update my flash player and air sdk to 3.6. My game is being developing using starling. And after update was complete, weired things happened. First,it would always fall back to software mode when debugging with content debugger. I just couldn't get to the gpu mode with content debugger! Second, when I run my game with IE 10 with flash player 11.6, some transparent black skins becomes transparent white skins!!!! That drives me crazy!  Surely there are lots of bugs with the release of flash player 11.6 for windows 8!

  • Is there a Flash Player 10 Debugger version for PowerPC Macs?

At http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html  in the debugger version section, I see only content debugger for Intel-based Macs.  My main development system is a PowerPC Mac.
I see a link below that titled "Flash Player 10 Projector content debugger" but no explanation of what "Projector" means. I am hesitant to install this since it appears different than other debuggers and I have had a lot of trouble with losing connectivity to FP debuggers in the past.
Is there any way for me to debug my project with FP10?
    Thanks.

For the first time, Flash developers will be able to debug their content using the PPAPI interface on Chromium based browsers. Please note that at this time, only the Chrome Canary build (M36 or higher) has support for the PPAPI debugger. To use this plugin in Google Chrome, please install the debugger using our stand alone installer available from labs.adobe.com and navigate to the chrome://plugins/ page. On the Chrome Plug-ins page, expand the plugin details and enable the debug version (noted in the Plug-in description) of the Shockwave Flash.
When configuring remote debugging, please navigate to Flash content and select the "Debugger" menu item from the Flash Player context me
Once set, these settings will take effect when the page is refreshed or the next time Flash content is loaded. For additional configuration options, please visit our Flash Player debug help page. Content displayed using SwfObject may encounter problems with the version number check. We are aware of this issue (see known issues below) and will address this in an upcoming build.
    Anisotropic Filtering
This new texture sampling filter can enhance the image quality of textures on surfaces that are at oblique viewing angles. There are two ways to enable this feature:
In AGAL, set one of the values – "anisotropic2x", "anisotropic4x", "anisotropic8x", or "anisotropic16x" to the filter option in the sampling instructions. Or call Context3D::setSamplerStateAt with the 3rd parameter "filter" being one of the values defined in Context3DTextureFilter - "ANISOTROPIC2X", "ANISOTROPIC4X", "ANISOTROPIC8X", or "ANISOTROPIC16X"
    New Stage3D "Standard" Profile
Developers can now request this high level profile when creating Context3D. Three new features are available in this profile:
Multiple render target allows to you to draw geometry to multiple outputs (up to 4) during one drawing
Floating point texture allows you to create Texture, RectangleTexture and CubeTuxture with the RGBA16F folder.
    AGAL v2 contains these improvements:
    Increased register size
    Partial derivative instructions
    Fragment depth output
    Conditional forward jump
    Notable Fixes and Enhancements:
    Multiple stability fixes
    Known Issues
PPAPI Debugger - Chrome incorrectly reports the installed location of the plugin in chrome:plugins
PPAPI Debugger - ESPN does not correctly detect the Flash Debugger Plug-in (3755128)
PPAPI Debugger - Some content using SWFObject is not loaded correctly (3755345)

I can't speak to YouTube's internal logic, but I think that they look at your connection quality and attempt to suggest the best option for current conditions.  Given that there's a lot of stuff between your house and YouTube, transitory congestion and performance issues can arise.  When selecting the highest video quality, you're consuming more bandwidth.  If a bottleneck anywhere on the route between you and YouTube prevents the stream from coming in faster than it's playing back, it is going to stop and start as the video rebuffers.
You can try rebooting, as "if in doubt, reboot" are great words to live by.  If any of the hardware or software running on the computer ended up in a wonky state, rebooting will typically solve that.  YouTube itself provides some good stats about the available bandwidth in the "Stats for Nerds" right-click menu option.
Anyway, not all YouTube videos are encoded the same way, so having an exact link to a couple videos that demonstrate the specific problem you're experiencing would be very helpful.
    Thanks!
P.S.  I've updated the subject to provide a more useful handle for people experiencing similar issues.

Yes, that would be expected, since Adobe released this
security update for Flash Player 9 (Flash Player 9,0,124,0) and not
    for previous versions.
This is not a bug, 9.0.124.0 - The developers of this
specific site will need to implement the required changes to comply
    with the security update.
“Adobe released a security update for Flash Player 9
(Flash Player 9,0,124,0) on April 8, 2008, to strengthen the
security of Adobe Flash Player for our customers and end users, and
to provide further mitigations for previously disclosed
    vulnerabilities.
Customers are advised to review the following Flash Player
updates to determine if their content will be impacted, and to
begin implementing necessary changes immediately to help ensure a
    seamless transition.
If any of the following situations apply, you should read
    this article in detail:
    • You use sockets or XMLSockets, regardless of the
domain to which you are connecting
    • You use addRequestHeader or URLRequest.requestHeaders
in any network API call when sending or loading data cross-domain
    or
You provide access to content on remote domains as a web
    service provider
    • You have SWFs that are exported for Flash Player 7
(SWF7) or earlier that communicate with the hosting HTML by any
    means
    • You use "javascript:" through network APIs to
    communicate outside a SWF”

  • I do not think Flash Player 10 is installing properly.

OS: Dual Booth Win XP and Vista 32bit
System: Quad Core Dell Precision 3400
    Background:
I recently had to format my machine and now I cannot get flash player to run properly.
    Problem/Error:
I am a developer and I am having problems running the swf files outside of the Flash Professional CS4 IDE.  Inside the IDE I am able to run the swf file(s) with no errors at all.  I can even load the swf files into another swf and run them in the IDE. I can run them in the broswer (IE 8, FireFox, or Chrome) with no issue as well. When I try to run the swf using Flashplayer outside of the IDE and Browser I get following Error:
VerifyError: Error #1033: Cpool entry "X" is wrong type.  -->  Where "X" can be any numeric value and changes frequently.
I also believe I am having trouble installing flash player 10 because when I run a swf file, it will always puts "Adobe Flash Player 9" at the top in my title bar of the window. If I check my program files within control panel, it will so tell me Adobe Flash Player 9 -- and I have installed Flash Player 10.0.22.87 multiple times. I have also installed the flashplayer_10_ax_debug in hopes of solving my problem and have had no luck. I have also tried using the uninstall_flash_player download to install a fresh install of flash player 10.0.22.87 and have had with no luck as well. I do NOT receive any errors during install.
If there is anything other information that I can provide you with that will help with troubleshooting please let me know.

Download the Windows Flash Player 10 Projector content debugger (EXE, 4.95 MB)
Using the above link I was able to fix the problem.  It's the projector that I needed to update.

  • Flash Player 10 release

We are working on a product release by end of July 2008 - We
would like to utilize fileupload data read capability of Flash 10
beta 3. Would like to know the release timeline for Flash 10 player
so that we can make some design decisions to make Flash 10 as
    requirement or not.

The question is...did you compile a release version to put on
    your server,
or did you just throw up the debug version?
