Flash    Player debugger

I just can't seem to be able to resolve this issue - Flex4 can't locate the Flash debugger Player  so am unable to run this facility. I have tested online and established that it is not installed, downloaded it, rebooted, re-installed Flex but still no joy. Can anyone give me a clue as to how I might fix this?
Ian

Thanks, I'll ping it back to them.

  • How to automate Flash Player Debugger installs

    Hello,
Everytime we push the latest version of Flash Player, Flash Player Debugger stops working and requires to upgrade.  I am working on making this upgrade automated along with our Flash deployments.
I tested installing  Flash Player Debugger on a test PC, I don't see it listed inAdd/Remove programs wizard.  When I go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ page, it reports I have the Flash player but when I go to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/192/tn_19245.html page, it says I have the Content Debugger ActiveX Player.  It's unclear if both of these versions would co-exist.
Importantly, I wanted to know what all the Adobe packages/suits that get the Adobe Flash Player Debugger version bundled in.  From http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/192/tn_19245.html it seems Flex distribution will have Adobe Flash Player Debugger version bundled.

    Hi,
Since Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer on Wndows 8.x/10, the standalone uninstaller does not work to remove the ActiveX control on Windows 8.x/10 (it does uninstall the NPAPI and PPAPI plugins.)  Instructions for uninstalling the debugger on Windows 8.x are posted at Adobe Flash Player - Downloads which is the same page that contains the links for the Windows 8.x debugger installers.  Instructions for uninstalling are directly below the links for the debuggers.
Since Microsoft embeds Flash Player on Windows 8.x/10 they lock the files to prevent users from uninstalling it as it is an integrated component of IE.  Since you have manually unregistered ActiveX components you may have performed irreparable damage to the file system, which is beyond the scope of this Flash Player installer forums.  This could by why you're getting the message that the update does not apply to you, however, that's difficult to ascertain at this point.  I'd start with running Windows Update and see if it includes an update for "Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 8.x".  If it's not there you may need to install other updates before the "Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 8.x" update shows up.  If it doesn't show up at all you'll need to contact Microsoft for their assistance.

  • Properly updating Flash CS5.5 to use the lastest Flash Player/Debugger

    Hey all,
I'm just about to uninstall and reinstall at this point but I'm getting my install all screwed up trying to update Flash Pro CS5.5 to use Flash Player 11. I had it fine using the MXP provided in this adobe blog. Though that's 11.0 not 11.1. It did work however.
I downloaded the latest Flash Player / Debugger .exe and the latest SWC for 11.1 and now Stage3D is no longer being seen. Clearly I screwed something up. I uninstalled and reinstalled the MXP after deleting the FP11 XML and FP11 directory but it's not working anymore.
Is there a clear cut simple way to explain how to overlay the latest Flash Player for FPCS5.5?
I used the AIR overlay instructions for 2.6 - 3.1 and it worked every time. Now I just need Flash Player overlay instructions.
I'm very interested to start trying to Starling framework with Stage3D. I select FP11 to export and it tells me it can't find Stage3D. D'oh!
    Thanks for tips!

Just an update. Upon printing flash.system.Capabilities.version I can see for CTRL+ENTER it's using version WIN 10,2,153,2. When I do a debug test it's using version WIN 11,1,102,55. That clearly explains why Stage3D is only available in debug testing.
I did overlay release and debug .exes in the Flash CS5.5 Player folder. Does anyone know of another place I might need to overwrite the flash player or which .exe CTRL+ENTER actually launches?

The thing is by default all the machine have flash player (version 11.4) and in one of the machine I want to install flash player debugger  (11.0). • Flash Player Debugger 11.5 wont install for Flash Builder 4.6

I've tried installing the Flash Player Debugger 11.5 but I can't find where it's installing and Flash Builder 4.6 will only use Flash Player Debugger 11.2 whenever I test. And after installing FB 4.7, images in my swf are missing when testing in FB 4.7 and FB 4.6. Everything worked fine right up to installing FB 4.7 and AIR 3.6.
    Any help?

  • Flash Player debugger 10.2 crashing + accent problem

    Hi,
I have a lots of problem with flash player debugger since the update 10.2
My browsers crashes often when there is an AS3 error. I delete many times and reinstall FP debugger nothing change.
I have a mac laptop with OS X Snow Leopard, using Safari, Opera and Firefox... all crashing (not Chrome, I don't use the debugger with it, so it works great).
I try on my Windows Xp same problem too with Firefox and the debugger version.
On mac, when the player crashes, I don't see any error before that whereas on Windows I can see the error, and choosing Continue or Cancel all have some randomly result... but it crashes.
Here is a typical link where my browsers crashes when you play the video : http://www.jeuxvideo.fr/video/warpzone/video-warpzone-saison-2-10-fox-news-qui-deconne-et- de-jolies-filles-qui-bastonnent-373890.html
It doesn't crash with FP without the debugger.
May you have any idea ?
P.S. : I take advantage of this post to say that into the French traduction, there are problems with accent, they are not display !
    "é", "à", "è", are change by a pipe : |
In 10.1 there wasn't any problem.
    Best Regards,
    Aymeric

I am not sure if this is the best place to ask; your questions are more like a developer's problem, so maybe the AS3 / Flash / Flex forums may be better.
Also, regarding the accented characters, you may try the French language forums - there may be users that have encountered the same problem.
If you think it is a bug in the software, you can report them at http://bugs.adobe.com/

  • KeyboardEvent Bug in Flash Player Debugger (Safari/WebKit OSX 10.6.8)

    Hi!
There is a bug with the debugger :-)
I ran into the following bug.
After doing a fair amount of testing I am able reproduce the problem at will, so here it is:
The Debug version of the Flash Player used for development does not detect keyboard inputs from Safari (tested with Version 5.1 (6534.50)) or WebKit (tested Version 5.1 (6534.50, r92131)) on OSX 10.6.8
All other browsers detect KeyboardEvents attached to the stage without any issue except for Safari/Webkit that just ignore all KeyboardEvents.
Of course the issue is limited to the debug version of the Falsh Player so not too big of an issue but I was wondering if Adobe is planning on fixing that issue?
    Thanks, L.

It would be better if you filed a bug report at http://bugs.adobe.com/flashplayer/ instead of reporting it in the user forum.
To give it its due attention, send a PM to Chris Campbell with a link to the bug report, as well as this topic.

  • Ended up with Flash Player debugger version

Hello, I have a Toshiba L675 running Windows 8.1 with IE 11 that I recently updated from Win 8. I somehow ended up with Flash Player 11.9.90.152 debugger version which I don't need. I just need the regular version.
I haven't had any success uninstalling this version so I can install the regular latest version.I've been around in many circles trying to get this done. The player does work fine when I'm viewing websites that require it.
I did the Win 8.1 update on another PC and it has the same version minus the debugger part.
I;ve checked Windows update and did remove one update related to Flash Player. I did that to get the player to play at all. If I tried to view a video say on CNN or whatever it would say you need Flash Player and provide a link to the latest player.
But like I say the player works fine now.

There's a Flash Player Uninstaller if you ever need it.

  • I need set of API that works only in Flash player debugger version but not in Flash player non-debug

My Application does not have any Sampler API, trace , getStackTrace methods, still its not working. My application has HTTP calls to server side ,

Thank you so much for your time!  Okay, I think I have what you need, if I understood it all correctly. Here goes...
I just installed FP again, did not get the video showing on Adobe site that it was successful even though the download said it was.
Uninstalled using Adobe uninstaller, then tried install once more with the same result.
The macromed Flash folder still has the same files as listed before:
    Flash10i.ocx
    FlashInstall (text doc)
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX
    install (text doc)
    In Control Panel I see:
    Adobe Download Manager
    Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX
    Adobe Reader 9.3.4
    Adobe Shockwave Player 11/5
Showing & enabled in IE Add-ons:
    get_atlcom Class
    Shockwave Flash Object
    Adobe PDF Link Helper
    Adobe PDF Reader
The Active X Control for Flash Player is not listed in IE
Don’t see any relevant add-ons in Firefox. BTW, I don’t usually use FF and only downloaded it again because I’d read that FP was working for some people in FF when it wasn’t in IE.  So, if we don’t get FF working with FP I’m good with that.
No NPSWF files in the Flash folder for me to right click.
Can't give you any version numbers.
    Did I miss anything?

  • Flash Player not connecting to debugger

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to debug ex2_02, but the debugger isn't working properly. Whenever I go to debug the application, the progress stops at 57% an says it is waiting for Flash Player to connect to the debugger. Eventually it will time out and launch the application with debugging. I have Flash Player Debugger installed. Does anyone know of a solution to my problem?

I have not had your exact problem, but I have had problems when installing the debug version of Flash player after installing Flash Builder. Did you install the debug version of Flash player when you isntalled Flash Builder or did you do it seperately? Also, which browser are you using to test?

  • Flash player 10 debugger on Linux

When I attempt to use the flash player debugger by right clicking on a flash movie and selecting "Debugger", nothing happens. Is there something I need to do besides install libflashplayer.so? Also, I'm using Firefox 3.5.

I too am having this problem. On all of my linux distributions, including Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, knoppix 5,1, fedora 8,9,10 flashplayer 10 is broken in the same way.  It reports that it cannot find webcam, and the settings dialog refuses to recognize mouse clicks.  I've poked around the web quite a bit and have not yet found a solution.  I saw the problem mentioned on an adobe bug reporting site and their response was to close the issue saying it wasn't repeatable on their system.  I tried to re-open it and my post was deleted without comment (I may have posted incorrectly or something)
Looking here  and elsewhere I see that the problem is very common and I don't see any posted bug-fixes, or even acknowledgement that a bug exists.  Has adobe lost interest in being cross-platform compatible?

  • On a Mac, unable to install latest Flash Player 12.0.0.44--or reinstall previous version that worked

I am on a Mac running the last version of Snow Leopard before Mavericks, 10.8.5.  I am unable to install the new Flash Player 12.0.0.4--at about the 50% mark on the installing bar, it stops and I get an error message that installation failed.  The version I had previously for some time, either 10. or 11. worked perfectly but I am not unable to reinstall any previous version either.  So I have a project I cannot run that requires Flash Player and can't watch videos.
I found someone in a forum who mentioned he'd seen several people on Snow Leopard unable to install Flash Player but his directions to overcome that which did work for someone who tried it, appear to be for PC's: from his first direction of right-clicking, I didn't get the option he says to click on that starts the process.
Can anyone tell me how to install this new Flash Player in a Mac on Snow Leopard?  Should I trash all the new versions of the installer and the Flash Player Debugger Version 11.4.402.287 (11.4) that I have from a previous installment, prior to trying again?
    Thanks for any help.

What I'm looking for is specifically the "General Installation Error", since it's 10.8.5.
You're missing a file that was made visible by the 10.8.5 update. Hundreds of thousands of Mac users all over the world deleted it, not knowing what it was. It causes this when it's missing.
Download this file: "Secrets" pereference pane
    And this one: mach_kernel.zip
Install Secrets, and open your System Preferences.
Open the Secrets Preference Pane, and check "Show hidden files"
You'll need to press the "Quit this" button,
and restart Finder, by right clicking the Dock icon.
Then, place the mach_kernel.zip file in the Mac HD directory,
and unzip it. You should see a "faded" mach_kernel file appear.
    Trash the zip file.
Reopen your System Preferences and uncheck "Show Hidden files".
Instead of quitting Finder and relaunching it, reboot your Mac.
Your Flash Player installer won't quit anymore.

  • FB 4.7 cannot locate the required version of Adobe Flash Player

The problem arises when I use the HTML wrapper to launch the app. By default in the Project Properties (Project / Properties / ActionScript Compiler / HTML wrapper), “Generate HTML wrapper file” is checked. I try to run FB 4.7 projects:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin
Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.
I've installed the debugger version of the Flash Player. Didn't work. I've reinstalled Flash Builder. Didn't work. I tried using Safari instead of Firefox. Didn't work. When I go to Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ in the finder, I can see Flash Player.plugin right there. But when I go to Username/Library/Internet Plug-Ins the entire folder is blank. So I tried copying Flash Player.plugin to the latter folder. Didn't work.
    System requirements:
    OS X 10.8.2
    Flash Builder 4.7 Premium
    Flash Player Debugger 11.5.502.110
Anyone know how to fix this?

Not certain about this, but it sounds a lot like the issues that occur with IE on 64 bit (until you've messed around) or on Chrome generally, or on MaxThon (until you've deleted a file from the core installation).
Simply; there is a conflict with the Flash Plugins that you have installed.
You may have installed the debugger plugin, but there is another, non-debugger, plugin that is being chosen by preference. This may be an automatically installed one (as per Chrome), a more appropriate one (64-bit debugger didn't exist at the time I encountered the issue and probably still doesn't, so IE used the 64-bit non-debugger until I uninstalled it), just silly (as per the MaxThon default package that forces their fast mode to use an older plugin due to a frankly quite strange development decision) or just an install conflict (installing a newer plugin that overwrites or blocks the debugger from being used, which is I think what is happening to you).
When you have Flash launched in your browser, right-click and check it is the correct debugger version.
    - If it is, then check that your launch path matches the output directory. (I have encountered an issue where a developer was outputting to bin-debug, but testing against bin-release before... Debugger couldn't connect because there was nothing to connect to.)
    - If it isn't, which I suspect is more likely, then try uninstalling Flash plugin generally until you get a clean setup and then reinstall the debugger.

  • Not able to install Flash Player in IE 9

Today i have to check our application for Flash Player 9. So I uninstalled Flash Player. Then i tried again to install new Flash Player in my system Windows 7, 32 bit, IE9. Then i am getting following error message every time for Active X.
I tried with CS5.5 Flash Player debugger also. But i didn't get any success. I googled a lot about this and found many solutions. But no success. finally i tried with following link also.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-windows-registry-permissions.html
But still i have no flash player in IE 9. So please help me quickly.

i Got same result when i tried to download flash player from below link:

  • Flash Builder 4.5 unable to find the debug version of the Flash Player.

I'm running into the following error:
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll
Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.
Do you want to try to debug with the current version?
I have already went to the link the dialog box provided to download the debug versions of the Flash Player.  I have installed both the Plugin and AX versions of the debugger.  Restarted all browers, Flash Builder and rebooted the PC for good measure.  I have spent a good amount of time looking for information on this issue.  All the threads that I found that were related to this issue didn't have a workable soution so far.  Hence I'm starting a thread on this problem.
I'm running Flash Builder 4.5 on Windows Vista 32-bit.  I have tried using both FireFox 3.6.24 and IE 8.0.6001.
I started with the Trial version then purchased the license online.  I don't know if that has any bearing.
Any information to diagnose this problem further would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi emat3d,
Try to uninstall Flash Player with this Adobe uninstaller, please ensure you close all application which might be using Flash Player. Then try to install your Flash Player debugger again. It solved for me.
