Flash players

I've spent time preparing a simple interactive presentation
in Flash. The user presses one of two onscreen buttons, which then
plays a video. All the code works, all the videos work. BUT. No
matter what compression I use or how I deal with the video or prep
them before importing into Flash, they always play jerky.
I've had great success playing high quality videos via WMV,
but of course, this is not interactive.
I'm using a Samsung XDA Trion for O2. is there a PDA that can
handle Flash interactive with videos in it?
I have searched everywhere to find a pda that might be able
to handle this. It is a very small Flash Movie - never more than
6MB. Surely Flash can handle this?
Help would be appreciated

No Flash yet, it's coming.

  • Printing problems with Flash Players 10.1 and 10.2

I'm having problems when printing "lengthy" reports under Flash Players 10.1 and 10.2. (By "lengthy" I mean 15+ pages, but it seems dependent on the content of the pages.)
Symptoms: On OS X with Safari (with debug Player 10.2) I get timeout errors. On Windows with IE (regular Flash Player 10.2), the system crawls to  almost a halt, heavy CPU and memory usage.   With Firefox on Windows, the Flash Player will crash. A user with Player 10.1 on Windows also reports The Flash Player crashing in Firefox (he has 8GB of RAM).
The reports print fine under Flash Player 10.0
There was an earlier post here about what seems like the same issue. (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3486765)
There is a bug report (https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-6087), but so far no response from Adobe.
I'm surprised about how few reports there are about the issue, which makes me think it may be my code. (But it worked under 10.0.)
I'd be interested to know if others are experiencing the problem.
Better still, if anyone has any tips on how to resolve the issue.

This is rediculous.  I have an application in use by thousands of students, and their teachers are supposted to be able to print login sheets for their classroom.  This was functioning fine for years, and now with the latest player upgrades, it's failing to print or printing only a few of the total pages.  I'm even seeing it print one additional page each time... first successfully printing 3 pages, then 4, then 5, when printing with adobe acrobat to PDF.  What happened?  What is this talk of timeouts when printing?  I'm not getting any error messages, it's just completing the file and displaying the PDF with only 4 of the 15 or 20 pages that Flash should have sent to the printer.

  • Apparently Firefox 3.6.4 has already been downloaded and now it wants me to downoad Flash Player 's newest version which is: 10.1 but it's not downloading on it's own. They suggested that I remove previous Abode Flash Players which I have now is: 1) Adobe

Earlier today Firefox was updated and downloaded. It is Firefox 3.6.4. But now it's asking that I download Adobe Flash Player 10.1. It wouldn't download on it's own, so they suggested that I remove the previous Flash Players which I only saw (2)two. The 1st one is: Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X. 2) Adobe Flash Player 10 Plug in. So, do I remove these two and then try to download Adobe Flash Player 10.1 again? Thank you and I sure hope you have an answer for me, because I don't know what to do. Must I have Adobe Flash Player 10.1 in order for the new version of Firefox, which is Firefox 3.6.4? Linda 6-29-2010

Flash player won't work or download. It says it no longer supports power pcs. I am running 10.5.8 on my ibook G4. Seem to have tried everything. i.e. chrome, firebird, archived flash players, etc. All not supported. Any insight??? It started when I tried to upgrade current flash player and it said I needed to uninstall current version, which I did, and then it wouldn't download the current one giving me the not supported story! Please help!!!!!!

Hi Andy, that is correct, they don't support PPC Macs anymore.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
    Download this if you haven't...
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.6 4_and_9.0.289.0archive.zip
Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!
    Or smaller here...

  • Are there any other flash players that you can use on Safari other than Adobe

Are there any other flash players that you can use on Safari other than Adobe?

Not as far as I am aware.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFl ash
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS The latest version, 10.2.152.25 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Note that the latest Flash Player update only works on YouTube with Safari in 32 bit mode - until YouTube correct this.

  • I want to separate Flash players into multiple instances of plugin-container.exe

Let's say I'm watching a video online and I feel like playing a Flash game while watching it. Let's also assume that this Flash game, like many others, has no volume options and is obnoxiously loud, drowning out the video.
All running Flash players (even between separate windows of Firefox) share the same process, so if I try to drop the volume of the game in Windows 7, it drops the volume of the video as well.
Is there some way to get firefox to load Flash players into separate process so that Windows can give me volume control over each? Perhaps there is an addon that does this?
P.S. I tried the -no-remote command line option on Firefox, but it turns out that each instance of firefox.exe requires a separate profile (which is an issue if the game uses cookies). I'd rather be able to get one instance of firefox.exe to use multiple instances of plugin-container.exe.

  • Why do we have to go through flash players to download DE?

Okay So after my acrobat reader 8 digital editions fail with an error message, I have to delete everything and just to be on the safe side, reinstall with a acrobat reader 7
After getting countless error messages "failing to autenticate" when i try to download the flash player 9, i have to resort to downloading the archived flash player version 8.
Then when i get into digital editions page and through the flash player download the digital editions, i get the message "download error"?
What kind of crappy service are you guys running here?
Do you idiots ever have the basic intelligence to at least make sure that one can at least download the digital editions without going through the flash players?

I am having the same issue. I purchased an ebook knowing I had adobe on my computer. The book needs the digital edition to run and for some unknown to me reason flash doesn't work on my internet explorer and I've tried on netscape where flash works but the download stalls and I don't know if its actually doing anything or not. No security warnings pop up or anything. I've been trying for hours to get it to work...and now thinking I wasted the money on my book. I run vista on a new computer and cannot download the Digital Edition and no clue how to make it work. Is there a way to download it manually onto my desktop where I can install it from there?? skipping flash and java and all that stuff totally? I've been looking and haven'tt found it.
    Thanks.

  • I was wondering if you have fixed the compatibility issues with java and flash players in the new patch

after update 6.0.0 all java scripts and flash players where incompatible and disabled i tried re-down loading new versions and tried to erase Firefox and all ad-dons and reload them and still had issues with them i had to re-download Firefox 5 to continue to use your program and i wanna make sure that in 6.0.2 i will not have to do the same thing.. it is a head ache and inconvenient

    You're welcome.
The only workarounds to this problem is going back to Safari 4,
You can revert to 4.0.5, instructions here.

  • Flash Players communicating

I am compiling a small chat application in Flash CS6. I am interested to know how Flash Players communicate with one another. Specifically, how do Flash players send messages back and forth to a specific peer. I know Flash players have to know their peer IDs i think they access there peer IDs throught the getRemote.SharedObject. But in ActionScript 3.0 how can i send messages directly to a peer?
    Thank You

are you using Adobe's Real-Time Media Flow Protocol for peer-to-peer communication?

  • Why two flash players?

There appear to be two versions of:
    Adobe Flash Player
    One for Internet Explorer
    and another for other browsers
Since I use both IE and Chrome should I install both?
Anyway why does IE need a separate Flash Player?
I dual boot Win7 and XP.

The 64-bit installer will install both 32-bit and 64-bit Flash Players.
Regarding dual booting: it is achieved easily when the operating systems are installed in sequence: older Windows version first, newer version second.
The boot manager up to Windows XP is completely different from the boot manager used in Windows 7 and Vista.

  • Side by side Flash Players?

I've just installed Flex 4 on a system with Flex 3.
Is there a way to target the new Flash Player (beta) when I run an mxml application from Flex 4? Is this done automatically?
--- I want to use this machine to develop Flex 3, and test Flex 4 at the same time, so I need to target different flash players --- Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Pablo S

On Windows, I can install a different version of the player in FireFox than
in IE.  I haven't figured out how to do that on Mac yet.
However, if you install FP10, and use Flex 3 and target FP9, FP10 will do a
pretty good job working like FP9.   If you have any doubts, you can switch
to FP9 for one final test before deploying, but for day-to-day, using FP10
should work for both Flex3 and Flex 4 development.

  • Can't watch South Park with newer Flash Players?!

    Hi!
I have a problem that has been troubling me for some time. I am not able to watch episodes of the cartoon South Park on its website www.southparkstudios.com with Flash Players versions 11 and above. I had to reinstall version 10 which works fine. Otherwise I only get a black screen instantly. I am running Windows 8 x64 with Firefox 26. Can anybody tell me what the reason for this is, and if I can fix it somehow? I have already switched from WIndows 7 to 8, the problem remained. I also uninstalled the Flash Player according to Adobe's guide and reinstalled it, nothing helped. I can not disable hardware acceleration, it just stays activated. The problem does not occur with Internet Explorer 11, but I prefer Firefox... Also, other websites I frequent like Youtube are not affected, as far as I can tell.
I would really appreciate any help in this matter!
    Best wishes
    Alex G

  • RE: Media Flash Players

Everytime I log onto my computer, I am told that I need to immediately update my media flash player and am then presented with different options of flash players ready for download, however, all of the flash players offered come from sites that my computer catagoizes as not to be "trusted" so I cancel them.  I thought that Adobe was my media flash player and that it was up to daye.  What do I do in this situation?  You should know that I am completely computer and tenologically illiterste.  I am presently trying to teach myself how to use a computer and go on the internet, but I find my teacher is lacking in knowledge. lol  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should handle this situation?

    Hi barbiegayleburall,
You can download the latest Adobe Flash Player from : http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/
You cna ignore the prompts to install flash player from other 3rd party sites.
