Flash video (.flv) not loading under HTTPS (SSL)

Hi,
We have developed a rich media eLearning simulation
application that dynamically loads separate .FLVs (animated talking
characters). The client implementation is in a learning management
system on an internal HTTPS connection. The FLVS do not work on
this LMS server but DO work when they open the same application
from our external (to the client) test web server (e.g. plain and
simple HTTP).
The PCs are the same machines. They are connecting from
within the same LAN (behind the firewall) e.g. all conditions are
exactly the same except for the HTTP/HTTPS difference.
The client is checking that the server MIME types are
correctly specified (it is believed that they are).
So...any advice why HTTPS/SSL might affect the FLV loading?
For reference: We are compiling in Flash 9. Client players
are running 9.0.124.0. All the files reside on the server(s) e.g.
no cross-domain file issues.
Thanks.

  • Flash video file not loading

    Hi,
I'm having a problem getting some flash video files to load.
So far it's affecting 2 files located on these pages:
    Martin
    O'Brien movie and
    John
    Gormley movie
The .flv files are being hosted on amazon s3. I have done
several things so far to try to figure out why they aren't loading:
    * Having the .swf file in the same folder as the web page
    (doesn't work)
    * Inserting a different .flv file from a different folder in
    amazon s3 (doesn't work)
    * Changing file permissions (doesn't work)
    * Linking to the .flv file in same manner from a different
site on same ISP (video does work)
    * Embedding .swf file in a html file instead of a php file
    (doesn't work)
I can only guess that it's something specific to the
www.bmfconferences.com site. As I said i've tried the same .flv
file on a different site with the same ISP (it says Bruce Robinson
but it's the John Gormley video file (
    John
Gormley movie on different site) and this works, but I don't
know what else to look for to get the files to work on the bmf
    site.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Louise.

    Hi All
I found the solution!... I had to add the MIME type .flv =
video/x-flv to my web server (Windows 2003).
    Thank anyway

  • Flash Videos do not load

    I have the following system:
    Windows 7 Professional
    All up to date updates
    Flash player: 11.9.900.152
I want to use google chrome as my main browser- **but let me be clear this issue also happens in the updated IE**
I have updated everything possible, cleared the cache and cookies, turned the windows firewall off, disabled the chrome built in player, disabled every pluggin, tried them one by one, turned off the pop up blocker, tried making exceptions in the pop up blocker and still nothing.
The odd youtube video will play which makes it even more mind boggling...
NFL.com and nhl.com videos do not load whatsoever.
Youtube videos do not load 98% of the time
Any ideas?? please help- losing my mind!

Yes the flash shows up on that link.
see below for a screen shot of one video that recently randomly worked.
that's another thing I don't understand is some of the ads will work as well but then when the video tries to play it says there is an error.
Nfl.com just goes straight to a grey screen if I click to watch a video

  • Swf file not loading over Https(SSL) on Internet Explorer...

    hi ,
I have a .swf file used in html file and i try to browse using "https(SSL)".it will loads fine in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer wont able to load. When right-clicking it says "movie not loaded".
even i googling for the same and i got below option but i am still not able to get flash on html page. it will working fine in Internet Explorer,FireFox etc when we use"http".
    1) add headers like "Cache-Control: must-revalidate" or "Cache-Control: max-age=0" or "Cache-Control: no-store" etc
    2) use CrossDomain.xml
we also able to load swf in https on Internet Explorer but for that we have to do below settings in Internet Explorer browser.
    1) Go to Tools --> Click on Internet Option --> click on Advanced tab --> Now in security section checked mark on "Do not save encrypted pages to disk".
but above way is not a proper way to resolve the https issue

  • Flash Video Skin Not Loading in Firefox

Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with a Flash
Video file. I'm helping a friend out by doing some work on his
webpage. He had a video that he wanted to put up on his news page,
so I converted the video to an flv and used the flv player
component to make a video player linked it. I uploaded the skin's
swf file, the player's swf file, and the flv to the same directory.
I made an iframe pointing to the player.swf file in the news
section of the site. I tested it in IE; it works like a charm.
Video loads, skin loads, and it plays etc... but in any version of
firefox, only the video loads and just sits there (autoplay is
off). What can the problem be? Link : (should work in IE, not
    FIREFOX
    Here .
Once you can recover from the reporter's amusing slack-jawed mug,
    please help me out!

Actually, this occurred to me later this afternoon, but I use Gentoo, which normally builds from source (cuz I am hardcore like that). I uninstalled the normal build and reinstalled the prebuilt binary and everything works. I am happy again and just need to play around with the source build options, which I can do later.
    Thanks!

  • Flash videos will not load

So I have a problem loading pretty much any flash videos in
both Firefox and IE. The video will load to a certain point and
then stop, and nothing I do will get it load further, not even
refreshing the page. I have to close out of the browser and get
back to it to have any chance of watching more. On YouTube, I can
sometimes click further on to make it start loading from there, and
even that stops working eventually. It's really, really annoying,
and I'm pretty sure it's something with Flash and not Java. Anyone
    else have this?

    Uninstall Flash
Download OnyX and run all the checks, maintaince and cleaning aspects and reboot at the end.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Safari will not load selected https/ssl sites

    Hello all,
I seem to be having what I believe to be an SSL certificate issue with the site https://my.pocketsmith.com/login . I am able to load the front page just fine (www.pocketsmith.com), but I have been totally unable to load either of the secure my.pocketsmith.com (pricing & login) pages which are linked at the top of the front page.
I am also unable to load the certificate info data when I click on the "lock" in the address bar after the page fails to load. It's like Safari doesn't want to deal with the certificate at all.
As far as I can tell the certificate is issued by GeoList and checked by Experian - I think that's how it works - for my.pocketsmith.com.
I'm running Windows 7 through a straight connection (no proxy).
I am able to access both of the SSL pages without issue on Chrome and IE 8.
I have no Safari 5 extensions or add-ons installed.
The error message Safari displays is:
"Safari can’t open the page “https://my.pocketsmith.com/login” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “my.pocketsmith.com”."
I've eliminated as many things as I can think of, to include updating the Thawte, Experian & GeoTrust root certs, deleting ALL SSL certs and starting over, resetting Safari (clear cookies, history, cache, etc.) several times, uninstalled/reinstalled Safari, uninstalled my antivirus software (NOD32), disabled Windows firewall, deleting all of the Safari 5 DNS pre-fetch files (the entire Safari folder in my user folder actually), switched my DNS server settings to both the Google and OpenDNS addresses, uninstalled/reinstalled Java (latest release), uninstalled/reinstalled Flash.....umm, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
    Still no joy.
I've read in a couple forums that it's possible there's a java script running that may not be compatible with Safari 5's security settings. Have also heard that it's possible the SSL cert. on the back end needs to be updated. No idea how plausible either of those theories are, but I've written PocketSmith to see if I can find out.
In the mean time I'm stuck using either IE or Chrome, neither of which I'm overly fond of. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue that they were able to get to the bottom of (I read the 1st 20 pages of the forum and wasn't able to find the exact same issue).
    Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I also read somewhere that someone had traced a similar issue to a problem with TLS 1.x (don't remember which, sorry...) and/or SSL 3.0. In other words, it's possible that it's a protocol problem and not necessarily a certificate problem. However, Safari doesn't seem to have an option to check these settings built in - does it just use whatever the IE settings are or is there some way to manipulate them directly in Safari?
    Thanks again.

    Hi
From your description, it seems the proxy server codes are correctly established in your System Preferences>Network panel, otherwise Camino would not work (uses the same Network settings as Safari).
I suspect the problem exists with the Proxy server relative to Safari. Have you spoken with your IT department, or whomever is in charge of the Network?

  • HTML Page with Flash Video will not load in Firefox and Chrome

When going to the page http://www.airsept.com/linespliceanimation.html in Firefox (latest version) I am prompted to either open or save the file as if I clicked a link to download a file.  Going to this web page in Google Chrome displays the code.
What the crap is going on?  I can't figure it out.  It works as it should in IE 7.

It looks like you fixed it.  You should close it now so so it won't be listed as open.

  • Flash videos won't play under one id

    Hi,
I've looked thru many of the discussion here and am drawing a blank.  I'm running Lion 10.7.1 on a MacBook Pro (older 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2G RAM) and have tried the following to get flash videos to work under my ID (e.g. NFL.com, Yahoo, YouTube).
         Repair disk permissions
Uninstall and reinstall Flash (currently at 10.3.183.7)
         Latest software updates applied
         Reset Safari
Also tried Opera, Firefox and Chrome and videos do not play there either.
System settings, Firewall, System Preferences and Safari Preferences all seem the same under both ID's.
         ClamXav security shutdown
Flash videos will not play under my ID.  Now if I switch to a guest account these same videos will play.
Under my ID I get the loading circle on Yahoo and nothing more.  On NFL.com I get the commercials but not the videos.
So clearly something under my ID is blocking this but I've got no clue what this might be.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Flash storage was not at zero so that was not it.  I'd checked those every time to make sure wasn't getting reset.
BUT...things have taken an interesting turn.  After using 9.0 xxx versions trying to find a combination that would work on ESPN.com, NFL.com, and YouTube videos and finding that 9.0 r xxx would work on some but not all, 10 would not work on NFL.com, then finding ESPN stopped working (it had been for me previously) I started to look around a bit more.  After many installs of different versions, reboots and so on, I now have all things working.  The latest today was trying to install an older version of 9.0 r 115 as being requested by YouTube.  The .dmg file was in a zip and I started it with a terminal window.  When running that it displayed several error messages pointing to ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia which had a couple of directories dating back to 2008.  The items there were
         #SharedObjects
         macromedia.com
         www.macromedia.com
While I admit that I was pretty much giving up and was not as methodical about doing things as I had been previously (removing one thing, retrying, then doing the next), I ran the Flash uninstaller to remove the 9.0 r 115 verision, then removed these three directories, restarted my machine and then reinstalled the latest version of Flash.  YouTube, ESPN and NFL videos all now work.  I'm almost afraid to restart my machine.  But I appreciate the help that all have offered and I while I cannot pinpoint the correction to removing the above 3 files, that seems to have done it.  One thing to note too, was just prior to doing the above I checked the Guest account that was working on NFL.com and YouTube was not working today.  I've not checked it again after getting my primary ID working but will do so and if an issue will post back.
I am happy that I'm able to finally see videos on the sites that I hit!! Yay!!
(of course I was close to convincing my wife to allow me to buy a new Mac, but alas....) :-)
OK - just checked the guest account and all three work there as well.  So back to a good place.

  • Flash player not loading on http but works on https

I have an issue where flash player shows "movie not loading" on http pages but works fine on https.
I am using windows 7 64 bit, ie9 64 bit, i have tried it with the latest firefox and chrome and i still get the same issue.
This started with flash player 10.3, the 10.2 version did not have this problem and all subsequent versions have the same issue. i am currently using the 11.2 version of flash.
Example: Any flash video on youtube with the address beginning with HTTP, the video screen is black and when you right click you get movie not loading and the correct version of the flash player. If you change the header over to HTTPS the video works fine. this wouldnt be much of a problem except when going to any other website that has flash as its main element but does not have an HTTPS version, you cannot use the page or its features.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, done a clean install, deleted all files and updated every area of my computer but this issue remains. I have read the forums here and done any suggestions listed to no avail and noticed many people have this type of problem. This issue has now been going on for almost 6 months. Can anyone help?
I may have posted this in the wrong forum and I appologize. If so can you please move it to the correct location?

I don't claim to know the solution to your problem, but in your situation I would try either or both administrator install methods: 1) Right-click the downloaded install file, choose "Run as Administrator" and install the software as usual. 2) Try using a different Windows account that you are positively certain has full administrator rights or the actual Administrator login name, install with that account.
Also, make sure you empty the browser cache before retrying the http pages. What about other browser settings, like security or privacy settings? Any add-ons or antivirus browser helper objects?
Do you only use Internet Explorer, or is this issue the same in Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari?
Good luck, hope you get the error fixed.

  • Flash video can not be loaded

Using Captivate 6, when I make any changes to an already published project that contains flash video, upon republishing I get a pop up stating "The flash video can not be loaded. The output may not be proper."  It only happens when I make a change to a previously published project. Every time I encounter this problem, my only fix is to delete each flv and re-insert the video, and republish. Any ideas?

I've already published this particular project with multiple videos embedded with no problems in Captivate 6. I had to change one video and went to re-publish the project. Upon completing the publish, I receive an error message on EACH slide that has embedded video:
"The Flash Video Can Not Be Loaded. The Input May Not Be Proper"
There wasn't any issues with the project until changing the one video that needed to swapped out. I also tried publishing this in Captivate 8 to the same results.

    Hi there,
Thanks for reaching Adobe Community. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.
I am a little confused here. Are you getting this error while inserting a FLV video through Insert option or inserting a video through Video > Insert Slide Video or inserting a new slide?
Re-linking means reinserting the video file. If you have already tried reinserting the video file, then have you tried inserting a different video?
Also what operating system you have on your system?
    Thanks!

  • Unable to publish projects with inserted video - error message The Flash video can not be loaded

I've created a project in Captivate 6 with two slides that have inserted videos in them
Both the videos were created in Captivate 6 by publishing those projects as mp4 videos
They play fine in the previews but when publishing I get the error saying the Flash video can not be loaded for both of those slides and in the output files the area for the video is blank.
I have checked that the videos are not open anywhere else as I saw on a previous post this was the issue but the only place they are in use is in the project I am trying to publish.
Below are my settings and the error message
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your screenshot indicates you are publishing to a folder on a network drive.
    Have you:
Verified whether or not the video file exists at the published folder location? (It should ideally be sitting in the same folder as the SWF that calls it.)
Verified that the folder location is set up as a trusted location in your Flash Global Security settings?
