Flash video replay button

Hi all..
I'm working on a flash video.. I have no problem converting/linking the video, etc - however, need to have a replay button as well as another button (to go to another page and such) after the video is done playing... Can anyone help me out or diret me to a tutorial about this? I'm assuming that I need to check for when the video is done playing and than make the buttons visible?
Thanks a bunch ahead of time!

here's an example, it assumes you have two buttons on stage or instantiated(restartButton and goButton), and your vid file/playback linked up etc
restartButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, restartVideo);
goButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goSomewhere);
goButton.visible = false; // hiding it till you need it
myVideoPlayBack.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, setGoButtonVisible);
function restartVideo(event:MouseEvent):void
     myVideoPlayBack.stop();
     myVideoPlayBack.seek(0);
     myVideoPlayBack.play();
function setGoButtonVisible(event:Event):void
     goButton.visible = true;
function goSomewhere(event:MouseEvent):void
     //whatever this should do, be it load a page, go to a frame etc

  • Flash videos and buttons are disappearing...?

    I start my home with a site that has an editable reigon, and
    a few flash buttons which are layered above a "transparent" flash
    video, the video plays perfectly the first time. I proceed to click
    on one of the links which leads me to another page with one of
    these flash videos nestled behind yet more flash linking buttons
    and a table, this also is working perfectly the first time. Then I
    click yet another link from that page and am now at a simple page
    that consists of only a background and 2 flash link buttons which
    each lead back to the two previous pages described. If i click on
    the link that leads to the first page the Flash buttons reman in
    full working order on the 1st page but the video fails to start
    playing again, even if I refresh. The same goes for if I click the
    link to the second page described, except the buttons do not appear
    as well as the flash video failing to start. I am fairly new to
    dreamweaver, but have been using flash for quite some time. I
    cannot paste the codes here since they are way too long. please
    tell me if you have any ideas on what I should do, your help is
    greatly appreciated. Sorry about this post is confusingly worded.

  • Creating a Replay Button for a Flash Video

    I want to replay a flash video by clicking on a "replay" button. I know how to creat the buttons. I can't figure out how to create the action script. Thanks in advance for any help.
    I know how to create the Action Script to replay flash, but when I have a flash video that I want to replay that's when I run into trouble.

    Hi,
    This snippet should hint a solution to you (NetStream class):
    netStream.seek = 0;
    netStream.resume();
    Anyway, you would need to know when the movie has finished playing.
    On a Flash Media server, there should be an event just for that.
    If you are not running on such a kind of server, make yourself a cuepoint to listen to, at the very last frame of the movie, so your app knows when its time to offer the replay functionality. You can insert cuepoints in a movie when you are in the Flash Video Encoder options.

  • When I try to play a flash video (like youtube) i have to click a flash button several times before it works. Why do flash videos not recogonize any clicks without several tries first?

    When I try to go to a flash video, the video player never seems to recognize my mouse clicks without several tries.
    It's hard to explain but if I'm at a youtube video and i place my cursor over the button that lets you skip around the video, the cursor will alternate being a cursor (like its not recognized) and a hand like its supposed to. It's sort of keeps flickering between the two if I move the mouse around on that little skip button.
    I tried uninstalling firefox but it didn't make a difference. I noticed it after updating to the newer firefoxe updates. This does not happen under IE.
    thank you for your help.

  • Remove Video Controls and add Replay button on page

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a page in Adobe Edge that loads a video without any controls (play, slider bar, volume, full screen) and then displays a replay button after the video finishes which will start it from the beginning.
    Currently I am able to load the video file and have it play to the end and stop, but I can't seem to get a replay button working.  I also can't find a way to disable controls on the video so they do not show.
    Here is the code I am using to load the video:
    // insert code to be run when the composition is fully loaded here
    $("#Stage").css("margin","auto")
    sym.stop();
    // original video play code starts here
    // create a text object called vid;
    var vid = $("<video width='980' height='300' controls='none'>" +
       "<source src='video.mp4' type='video/mp4' />" +
       "<source src='video.webm' type='video/webm' />" +
       "<source src='video.ogv' type='video/ogg' />" +
       "This browser is not compatible with HTML 5" +
    "</video>"
    sym.$("replay_btn").stop().animate({"size":"absolute", "top":"-265", "left":"7", "opacity":"1"}, 0);
    // stage symbol lookup, and append the above vid object to it;
    // in other words, get the div called 'vcontainer' and attach the video control to it;
    sym.$("vContainer").append(vid);
    // additional options for the video object
    vid.attr('autoplay', 'autoplay');
    vid.attr('preload','auto');
    vid.attr('controls', 'none');
    // End original code
    // this is the insert for the action after the video ends
    $(vid).bind("ended", function () {
    sym.$("vContainer").stop().animate({"size":"absolute", "left":"0", "opacity":"0"}, 0);
    sym.$("replay_btn").stop().animate({"size":"absolute", "top":"394", "left":"19", "opacity":"1"}, 0);
    $("#Stage").on('click','#replay_btn',function(){
    vid.pause();
    vid.currentTime = '0';
    vid.play();
    sym.$("vContainer").stop().animate({"size":"absolute", "top":"133", "left":"0", "opacity":"1"}, 0);
    vid.removeAttribute("controls");
    As you can see, I tried a few ways of disabling the controls, and I also tried adding the replay function to the button itself, but neither of those worked.  Any advice or information on controlling the video control display and replay function in Adobe Edge would be very helpful.
    Thanks!

    In case anyone is interested in the replay button, I was able to find code that worked:
    var myVideo = document.getElementById("activeVideo");
    myVideo.currentTime = 0;
    myVideo.play();
    This is executed when the replay button is clicked.  Just be sure to set the video in question's ID to "activeVideo".
    I am still unable to turn off the controls on the video.  It seems like some of the code I have tried should work, but I haven't had success yet.
    I've tried all of the following:
    var vid = $("<video width='980' height='300' controls='none'>"
    var vid = $("<video width='980' height='300' controls='0'>"
    var vid = $("<video width='980' height='300' controls=''>"
    vid.attr('controls', 'none');
    vid.attr('controls', '0');
    vid.attr('controls', '');
    But nothing has worked so far.  Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • [Solved] On fullscreen flash videos (like on YouTube) there is a black bar on the right side of the screen, and I must click slightly to the right of onscreen buttons instead of directly on them while this is happening.

    On fullscreen flash videos (like on YouTube) there is a black bar on the right side of the screen, and I must click slightly to the right of onscreen buttons instead of directly on them while this is happening. It's like I should click where they should be, not where they are. The exact same problem happens on Google Chrome, but not on Internet Explorer. It also happens on some games I installed like, "Crysis".

    Nevermind, I solved the problem by downloading this:

  • No buttons in Flash video Player

    Hello,
    i can't see navigation buttons in my Flash video player.If I
    run the swf alone there are all the buttons but in my page is onli
    the video picture but not buttons.What should I do? Can somebody
    help?

    I am having the problem mentioned above and would really
    appreciate a solution. Here's my set up...
    Running a Flash CD Rom in IE, user clicks a Start.html file
    to fire up the presentation in their default web browser.
    I have a root file loading a bunch of movies on various
    levels. The video player loads on level 4 above a bunch of other
    buttons on level 3.
    I disable the buttons underneath by including a big Invisible
    button on the bottom layer of the video .swf and inserting a script
    to disable the hand cursor. (So that users can't click buttons that
    reside underneath where my video is playing.)
    That all works great, the only thing is that the controls in
    the skin I'm using become disabled. I'm using a premade skin in
    Flash 8, the kind that pop the controls up automatically when you
    roll over the video, and go away when you don't.
    Everything works great when I Ctrl+Enter and test the file,
    but when I run the whole thing together in IE, the video controls
    never pop up.
    Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • How to use embed code to insert my flash video from web host whilst keeping my player buttons?

    I have created a flash 8 video. It consists of the video.swf
    video.flv and skin.swf
    When i try to embed it into a remote webpage, the video
    player buttons do not show.
    How do i enable my webpage of flash video to show the player
    controls on a remote webpage using an embed code?

    Reece,
    > Basicly i just imported a .mov file into flash 8 and
    chose
    > the FVSS option were it does the rest its self.
    If you chose FVSS, that means you're using a Flash Video
    Streaming
    Service and not just uploading video to your own server.
    > So my skin.flv file currently has to be in the same
    folder
    > as my webpage which is currently not possible for me
    > to do.
    You can put the skin wherever you like. All that matters is
    that you
    correctly path to it from the point of view of the HTML page
    that holds your
    SWF (the SWF that holds the FLVPlayback instance that uses
    this skin).
    > I need it to allow my skin.flv file to be in the same
    folder
    > as my vido.swf and video.flv files.
    You're uploading your video files to a Flash Video Streaming
    Service,
    which I haven't done personally, so I don't know what
    requirements this
    service places on you. Regardless, the location of the skin
    SWF file makes
    no difference. In the FLA that contains your FLVPlayback
    instance, select
    that instance and look at the Parameters tab of the Propery
    inspector. In
    the skin parameter, double click the cell to the right of
    that and enter the
    path to the skin SWF. It can be absolute (full domain name
    and filepath) or
    relative. If it's relative, pretend it's the HTML file
    looking for that
    skin, instead of this SWF file.

  • Mouse back/forward buttons don't respond after exiting from full screen Flash video

    Yeah. Has anyone else encountered this? After viewing a full
    screen video (YouTube, Hulu) and exiting (via the ESC button), the
    back and foward buttons on my mouse stop responding. Really!
    Usually I will have to go back into a full-screen video twice for
    the buttons to get "stuck," and then it takes them several minutes
    to regain their functionality.
    I've had this going on for over a year now, and I'm finally
    sick of it enough to where I want to get some help. I've narrowed
    it down to the Flash player as being the culprit, and it happens on
    every browser I've tried it on (Firefox 3: RC2, RC1, Beta5; Firefox
    2; IE7; IE6; Safari 3.x). This started happening when I upgraded
    the Flash Player and the first offending version would be the one
    that introduced the current full screen Flash video technology. I'm
    guessing it was 9.0.
    I have a Logitech MediaPlay wireless mouse, Win XP SP2. I
    have the latest version of Flash and the most up-to-date mouse
    drivers.

    I have the same exact problem, only a different model
    Logitech. Have you found a solution? Thanks, Shawn.

  • Flash help for replay button

    I have a simple movie that consists of 1 scene with some
    layers. Each layer
    contains a movie clip and there's an actions layer with a
    stop action. All
    the clips play at once. The clip that contains the ending
    sequence contains
    a replay button. The actionscript is as follows:
    on (release) {
    gotoAndPlay("Scene 1", 1);
    With simple buttons enabled within flash, it does what is
    expected, but when
    I save as a .swf, it goes back to the first frame of the
    movie clip it's
    contained in, not the movie itself. How do I add a replay
    button to a movie
    set up the way I have it?
    Thanks
    -mark

    Thanks for that. I got it to work by simply having the button
    reload the
    movie. I got to thinking that since all the clips play
    through and then stop
    at their respective endings. Going back to the first frame of
    the root may
    not work as the root only has 1 frame and the clips have
    already played
    through. Figured I should reload the movie.
    But I'll try your solution and see if it also works.
