Flash8 Menu when going to other pages

Hi,
This is my first post so I appreciate any help, because I
have searched this forum but cannot find the answer.
I have a flash navigation on all my pages and want to keep
the over position when that navigation button is clicked. This will
allow the user to know where they are at in the site. My first
instinct is to create a seperate navigation for each page with the
button disabled on the over state. This means there would be as
many swf files as pages on my site, which seems inefficient. Is
there a way to do this without creating multiple swf files?
An example would be that I click on portfolio button in the
flash menu and the portfolio page loads while the flash nav button
for portfolio is now on its over state and cannot be clicked while
still on the portfolio page.

Having issues linking spry menu bar to my other pages

Hey everyone,
I am brand new to web development. I am currently using the trial of DW and I must say I love it. I am having issues with my spry menu bar though. I will click on a certain box in the menu bar and use the properties page at the bottom and insert a link to another one of my webpages that I have created. However when I test my webpage, it will not be linked to it. Instead it is linked to #, or my index page. Now my domain name is: thecampuscocktail.com. I have created two other pages "feedback.html" and "speedydrinks.html" and even when I enter those manually into my browser (i.e. "thecampuscocktail.com/feedback.html") it gives me a page not found error. So I may be doing something incorrectly with uploading my pages however I have used the "put" option with all of them and I have used the "sync site wide" option. I am also using a template though that shouldn't affect it. Being brand new I know very, very little about coding. But here is the code to my template:

Menu items linking to other pages?

I have built a menu using the forms menu tool in Dreamweaver, and now I would like to link each menu item to a different page. Can this be done and how? does it require SPRY?

No, you don't need Spry to link pages.
Highlight the text or image that you want to use as the link.
Insert > Hyperlink
Complete the Dialog Box... you can use the little folder icon/button at the right of the Link: field to navigate to the file you want to open with this link
Clicking the "Help" button there will get you more information about Hyperlinking.
Or:
Highlight the text or image you want to use as the link.
Just to the right of the Link field in the Property Inspector, drag the target icon over to the Files Panel and tap on the file you want to link to

How do I use my index spry menu bar on my other pages?

I'm trying to use the same bar for all of my pages as on the index page, but not all of the information transfers, just some of it. The font and placement, for instance, are different when I try to copy and paste all of the code. However, if I try to start fresh with a new menu bar, it assumes the coloring, and some of the sizing, of my index page bar.
Hopefully the attached files will be enough. My website (obviously a work in progress) is www.uniquehomedesigns.net.

And cut it from your code. Then open a new document, delete ALL code from it, pastee the above into this new fileand call it menu.inc.php.
Then
In place of where you removed the code, put this
<?php include('menu.inc.php');?>
And you now have an include file that can be put into any new page. If you change this file, it will be changed on all pages that have it.
DO NOT put the js or the css in the new file, leave it where it is. You will have to include these files in any new pages, but you should look into using a template for that.

Auto-reboot when going Home from Pages

5S with iOS 7.01, pressing the Home button to switch to the Home screen from the new Pages app reboots the phone every time (screen goes blue, then the phone reboots). Anyone else having this problem?

Looks like the reason were two documents created during the public Beta phase. When I pressed Home with either document up, the Home screen briefly appeared, then turned blue, and the iPhone 5S rebooted itself. However, with the default Apple "Getting Started" document, no problem. Pressing the Home button brought me back to the Home screen. No "blue screen of iOS death."

Black screen when going to plans page?

Hi,
When I go to https://creative.adobe.com/plans/ to reactivate my subscription, I only see the top menu and the rest of the screen is black. Have tried in different browsers, but everywhere the same problem.
Anyone any idea what's going on?

It sounds like your project has been bitten by the iMovie bug that discards iMovie's copy of the photo. Without that photo, iMovie can't update your previously-rendered clip. You get black.

When going to another page on a website firefox will crash completely without any error message.

I have tried the troubleshooting tips provided by Firefox but problem keeps coming up.
I mostly have trouble with the ilovehits.com website.
All the links on the site menu work fine except the "Start surfing"
link......When I click on that link Firefox will crash and I am returned to my desktop.
I have to activate Firefox again to browse.

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Silverlight application (example.xap) doesn't run when call in other pages using "Object tag"

I have silverlight 3 installed with Visual studio 2008. installation is fine.
I have created a silvelight application including a test page.
In my test page I used the "object tag" to call my application as it is suggested since silverlight 3:

At the run time, using the test page my application runs as expected. But when i call the same application in another page i have created, nothing happens: the web page is blank. I wonder why it works with the test page created at the same time with the
silverlight application ( i have checked the radio button that required the test paged creation during the process of the silverlight application) and why it doesn't work with a page created separately.

Thank you for your helps. But i want to let you know that the html code i wrote in my post is just an example so I will complete my post with more information.
0- I have visual studio 2008 installed with silverlight 3.
1- I have created a web project with a master page (my master page has a content page )
2- I added a silvelight application: carousel.xap (during its creation I've accepted to add a test page: carouselTestPage.aspx)
3- I added a main page Home.aspx: which inherits from the master page created in step 1, then I call my silverlight application in this content page using the object tag.
Result of the tests during run time:
My silverlight application carousel.xap works fine when I test it with the
carouselTestPage.aspx.
But my silverlight application carousel.xap doesn't work with the main page I added to my web project. the web content page is blank.

so the application source is correctly supplied in the object tag description. so I wonder why it doesn't work with a separate content page in the same web project and work with this embedded Silverlight Test page.

Firefox used to play audio within player playlist, now it goes to other page with a single control bar?

this just happened recently with OS 10.8.4, (and I don't remember making any changes) yet it still plays within the playlist in OS 10.6.8

Now the media opens up in a new tab page? You can check if any application preferences changed in Preferences > Applications.
Is there a website you can provide an example for? Does it happen on multiple sites? And if you disable Quicktime in about:addons does this do this still?
This may explain any changes that you are noticing. However the only preferences that can be changed in Firefox is within the video player settings as far as I understand, but happy to find out more when you post back.

Automatically stop video when going to next page

I have an article with a video with sound on the first page that plays automatically. When I swipe to the next page, I hear the video still playing. Is there a way to turn it off automatically as soon as I swipe to the next page?

Webpage hidden behind a white screen when going back a page?

Sometimes when I go back a page by swiping the trackpad, the page gets stuck on a blank, white screen. Interestingly though, you can still click links through the white screen. In other words, all the content is still there, but you only see a white page.
Anyone else getting this? Any solutions?
I'm using safari 6.0.2 on a macbook pro w/ retina dp.

Try deleting the cache associated with Safari.
Quit Safari.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari to test.

Same URL when called from other page when called directly behaves different

I am working on SRM 5.0 implementation , the open catalog interface applications are called from a link from the standard ITS (thses catalog applications are developed in BSP) and then submited back to the ITS application using a URL :

This application is transfered perfectly if the catalog is called by clicking link on standard ITS application(EBP application) but if i enter the catalog URL(BSP Application URL) directly in the browser and hardcode the value of HOOK_URL (ret_url) in BSP application , the catalog is submited but it shows a blank page with javascript error 'window.opener.isLeanWP' is null or not an object .

Updating the database when going to another page

When the user entered some data, he can click on a link. This
link send him to another web site.
My wish would that when he clicks on this link two actions
will be performed:

After the user entered some data, he can click on a link.
This link sends him to another web site.
My goal would be that when the user clicks on this link , two
actions will be performed:
- first, insert the data in the database,
-second, go to the link.
I did not find any way to make those 2 jobs being executed
after the user clicks on the link.
Should someone help me on this?

SetRendered(true) a component when going to new page

This might be a very basic question. I want to render a panelButtonBar ini page2.jspx. now initially I have <af:panelButtonBar binding="#{docDownload.panelButtonBar1}" id="panelButtonBar1"
rendered="false">
This bean is in session. Now in page 1 on clicking a link i call method onload() in the same bean. This method based on the parameters I send executes another viewobject and then if(param.equalsIgnoreCase("Y"))
panelButtonBar1.setRendered(false); ----****
return "success";
Its always giving me null pointerException at ****. Why. Do i need to get the context of page2. But the bean is in session.

Thanks for responding. Let me explain. I have jspx page1 which has a link calls a action method lying in a backing bean which in session scope. This bean also has getter setter methods for the components of the my jspx page2. In page 2 I have a set of buttons which is kept in a panelButtonBar which is initailly rendered true.
On calling my action method I fetch a value from my viewobject which is either 'Y' or 'N'. Based on this I want to set the above paneButtonBar false.
I understand now why it was null, because the components can only be accessed in request. So now what do i do. Do I put a partial trigger on the buttonbar and call back the bean to set it false.

Ie popups when going to certain pages.

When I go to Zoosk dating sites pop up in an IE window or if I go to Turbotax.com I get IE popups for H&R Block. I have killed suggested site tools in IE and in the tool bar and I still get these popups. How do I stop this from happening?

Not sure why you say those popups are in IE and if so then how to stop them from appearing.. in Firefox, you can try those anti-ad extensions:

However if IE windows pop up when you surf in Firefox, please test for the issue in [[safe mode]].
