Flex client can SEND but not RECEIVE messages from BlazeDS

Hi there,
I built a sample chat application that should be able to send/receive messages from a JMS topic. However, I am only able to SEND messages, I am not able to receive them. Any advice/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated as I am seriously stuck.
My setup:
- BlazeDS Turnkey
- FioranoMQ JMS provider on remote machine
What I know:
- My MXML code is good. I am able to use the exact same code and get both subscribing and publishing working when I use 'ActiveMQ' instead of 'FioranoMQ' as my JMS provider
- FioranoMQ JMS provider is working fine, my test Java clients can both subscribe and publish to the same JMS topic that the Flex app uses
- Publishing from my Flex app is working because my Java client is able to receive messages from the same topic whenever Flex messages are sent to FioranoMQ
- My Flex app is supposedly 'subscribed' to and 'connected' to the correct (streaming-amf) channel. I know this because the MXML 'Consumer' object's "subscribed" and "connected" properties are true and no fault events appear whenever I issue "consumer.subscribe()" in my Flex app.
Sample debug console log:
(I tried sending 8 JMS messages from my Java client code to the 'mytopic' topic that my Flex app is using. The end of the log shows that SOMETHING is happening after sending these messages, but notice the actual 'message' is never streamed even in the log!)

Hi Alex, thanks for your advice. I tried reading the client-side logs, but it just physically shows what I was saying earlier - that the consumer is connected and subscribed, but no messages are coming through to it.
I've attached the output of the 'flashlog.txt' file. For the particular session shown, the flex application was sent 8 JMS messages, but as you can see nothing got through. I put a 'trace' message in the message handler function (for my consumer object), but it never gets called.

Seems to me there can only be two explanations: either my BlazeDS configuration is incorrect (which is unlikely given that everything works if I use a ActiveMQ as my JMS provider with only trivial changes to my configuration), or there is some bug within BlazeDS that is preventing it from working properly with FioranoMQ. What do you think?

  • New Deployment: Outlook Can Send but not Receiving Messages

We are in the process of setting up/testing a new installation of Exch 2013 for the first time. We created a Send Connector (Used MX records option) and left Receive connectors as is. We set up a test user in AD, then created mailbox with valid email
address. We are using Outlook 2010 (on Windows7) to connect to Exchange, which was successful (use the automatic , not manual configure option).
From Outlook, we can send an email to external address successfully. We cannot receive an email. We check the webmail account provided by our email host and the email is in the account.
Note, with this same email host, we used the POP connector in EXCH2003 to get our email. We wanted to use SMTP to receive email in Exchange 2013. Could this be an issue at our email host (could they require POP connection)  OR is there a service will
need to enable/add in EXCH and if so where is it?
Also, we used the Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer for this test user and both SMTP Inbound and SMTP Outbound passed.
One thing we just noticed is that the mailbox for the testuser must contain a few messages because of its usage report..Outlook just can't pick them up maybe...How can we tell if the mailbox has our test emails in it?
Another odd thing  is that within Outlook, under Mailbox Cleanup, it shows that the Inbox should has a size of 12KB, which would be about the size of our test messages to it:
Since our posting..we have looked at the mailbox using OWA and the Inbox has nothing in it there either. We tested internal email between this test user and the Administrator account and we can send and receive into the Inbox, both in OWA and Outlook, just
fine...We did a search on the mailbox using the EAC and it did not find anything.

We have MX records pointing to our domain that we use for email, but I do not think to our Exch2013 Server. We use them now with Exchange 2003. When I do NSLookup for our domain name it returns (2) MX records from our email host that I would expect,
as they have always been there since the exch2003 box.
NSLookup does not return mail.domainname.com on the list of MX records.  If I ping mail.domainname.com, it returns the public static IP address of our exchange server given to us by our ISP...but is that because I added that A Record today?
I do not understand your statement... "To receive mail you must post your domain in the form of an MX record". Maybe there is something I need to add at my web host (Network Solutions)?? Do I manually add a MX record called mail.domainname.com?
Like here circled in red (I did not add it yet):  If I need to do this, I am unsure of the priority number? I don't want to interfere with our EXCH 2003 server while doing this testing.

Any help is greatly appreciated... I've tried everything I can think of!

    Hello,
I have the same problem, but not with all users, only with one user.
This one user can send me messages, but my messages this user never receive...
Other chat partner can read all my messages.
Maybe its because of the Desktop Version of yahoo messenger? I dont have any idea at the moment. Anywhere have an idea? :-)

You should check that your settings (both directions) match this:
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 587
    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
Note: If you receive errors using SSL, try using TLS instead.
Your signature says you have 10.6.8 - is this correct? If you migrated from MobileMe using this your mail settings won't be correct and you will need to follow this procedure to re-enter them:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard

Using iMac with OSX 10.7.5. Can send but not receive emails. No problem with internet account. Server rep tried everything and suggested perhaps a corrupted file in the op syst. Any ideas?

You may have a corrupt preference. Mail - Preferences - Accounts - click the offending account and re-enter all prefereneces. Also you can use Apple's OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages located at:

  • E71 Imap, can send but not receive

    HI all
I received my E71 about a week ago and having major problems configuring it with my work email.
Its an IMAP mail. I can send fine but on most occasions cannot receive. Occasionally it downloads some mails but only twice in the last week. I think this shows the settings are correct.
Have tried to sign up with Nokia mail but get the following error message:
'Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again.'
My colleagues in the UK use Blackberrys fine and have spoken with IT and they cannot think of any reason why this is happening. I have deleted the mailbox and set it up again many times but still can send but not receive...
Very grateful for any advice as really happy with the phone other than this which is the main reason why I bought it.

    Hi Anne,
Is this IMAP or POP account?
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.

  • Upgraded to Tiger; Mail can Send, but not receive... help!

    Hi there,
I've come across lots of issues people have had importing all their mailboxes when they've upgraded from Panther to Tiger, but my wife's problem is different - - Mail can Send, but not receive. 'Get Mail' hasn't worked since the upgrade. I've been on the phone with my POP server provider, and all my Mail Account settings are correct. I can send mail, as I say, and sure enough, there it is in her Hotmail web page, along with all the other messages people have sent her in the last two weeks...
So why can't Mail 'get' these messages, if all the settings are correct?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Malcolm

    You’re welcome.
If you deleted a POP account, then all the messages stored in that account’s mailboxes has certainly been wiped out, not just moved somewhere, and you were warned that this would happen by the following alert:
    Remove Account
Are you sure you want to remove the <AccountType> account "<AccountName>"?
This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Messages stored on the mail server will not be affected.
To prevent that from happening, you should have moved those messages to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes instead of leaving them in the account’s mailboxes. Actually, using Inbox and Sent for archiving purposes is a bad idea regardless.
If the messages are not on the server and you don’t have a backup (which you should have made before doing something like that), you may try to salvage as many deleted *.emlx files as possible with a data recovery tool such as Data Rescue II, TechTool Pro, or FileSalvage (the files to be recovered would be different in the case of Mail 1.x). Of these, the only one I know for sure that can currently recover deleted *.emlx files is FileSalvage. Stop using your computer right now if you want to try that, as anything you do with the computer may cause the deleted files to be overwritten.

  • I can send but not receive email

Hello All. I know this is a highly posted topic but I cannot find a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Basic Problem- I can send but not receive email.
My ISP is. Yahoo SBC Global
    I have a 3rd party email provider: 1and1.com
I have set my preferences according to the specifications of 1and1.com
The error I get is this: The server error encountered was: The attempt to read data from the server "pop.1and.com" failed.
I have a Macbook Pro, running 10.4.9. My account with the 3rd party email provider is new and only has 1 or two emails in the account. I know this because I can log on via the internet and use their website to check the emails in the inbox. So the "email" address is working. I just can't get it to forward to my laptop.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with port 110 being blocked by my ISP. But I really don't think they are blocking that port. Due to the fact that my previous computer was a dell, and I used a similar 3rd party provider to email, the account used port 110 and things worked fine.
    Thanks to all.

    Ok. I've got it working.
All I did was delete my account information from the preferences. Before, I was editing it.
I entered a completely new POP account and it started working. I have a hard time believing that I entered information incorrectly prior to this because I checked it, rechecked it had a friend check it and it all looked OK. I was copy and pasting information anyway.
However, once I deleted and re- entered a brand new account, it worked fine.
Ernie, thanks for replying to my emails! I appreciate it.

  • Can send but not receive email

I have contacted my ISP and confirmed my password and settings. I can log on and send but not receive. The emails are on the server. This problem started after I installed the latest apple security update. The isp tech felt everything was ok there and that the problem was due to the security update blocking incoming mail.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

    powerbook15   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   mail version 1.3.11 (v622/624)

    Thanks, Dave!
I had the same problem. Could send but not receive, on three email accounts all of which were on the same server. The other four accounts on two different serves worked fine. This was a sudden change and I had not changed any mail prefs for several weeks or anything on the server end in months. I spent 3.5 hours on this this evening, excahnging emails with customer suppert at the server (using the other accounts of course), going through the complicated webstie to check the server configuration, checking the prefs in mail over and over and over, setting up the email on another computer to discover it worked, throwing everything realted to these three accounts out of keychain thinking maybe it had saved an old password.
Came in here to post a plea for help and read your message. The offline bits were set. And the list of accounts under the IN heading had been collapsed (I generally have it open, don't know how it was collapsed) so that I couldn't see the obvious offline indicator. !!!
Thanks again! Where were you 3.5 hours ago?

  • Can send but not receive... Anybody knows what is going on?

This affects the mail application in the computer but I receive messages all right in the www.icloud.com web site,
Are many people affected by the same problem?
and by the way, most of the time works in my iPhone but sort of slowly

I had this same problem, and put in the IP address of my provider's POP server instead of "pop.whatever.com.au" and mail was received with no problem.
I also tried deleting my two email accounts in Mail preferences and making new ones with the server name (pop.xxxx etc) and after several crashes of Mail while creating the second account I got the accounts going again, and they worked with the server name... once only. Then I had to go back to using the POP server's IP address to get mail.
Sending has not been an issue using the server name "smtp.whatever.com.au" but it is quite slow compared to receiving mail. Both my email accounts are just basic mailboxes supplied by my internet provider.
Should I be looking for some way to go back to using the server name rather than the IP address?

  • Office 2008: Entourage can send but not receive email

Purchased Macbook Air and wirelessly loaded Office 2004 from my other Macbook Pro. One week later, I updated to Office 2008 for Mac. Two months later, Entourage became corrupted: can only Send email, but not receive any; Calendar and other functions continue to sync with no problem. Also, email sent to Trash doesn't empty. Original disc unavailable at present; potential conflict with Office 2004?

    Glennbradley,
It's possible that some data in the Microsoft User Data folder (located in your documents folder) has gotten a bit "wonky."
My understanding of the '08 installer is that it purposely runs a script at the conclusion of the installation to removal '04 if it was found on your system. Was that not the case? Do you still have a working '04 set of applications?
Also, the fact that it did work (and doesn't now) tells me that somehow your profile or the Entourage database has become corrupted or unstable for various reasons. Have you followed the support documentation on repairing your Entourage profile? What sort of success/failure has that generated?
