Flex for iPad print document

Hi
I'm looking for availability to print generated document from my iPad (Flex SDK 4.5.1);
Standard PrintJob class is not working there.
As alternative way I've tried to generate PDF file but I can't open it on device.
filez = File.userDirectory.resolvePath('myFile.pdf');
var f:FileStream = new FileStream();
f.open( filez, FileMode.WRITE);
var bytes:ByteArray = pdf.save( Method.LOCAL );
f.writeBytes(bytes);
f.close();
filez.openWithDefaultApplication();
nothing happend.
than I've tried to open this file in browser:
navigateToURL(new URLRequest(filez.nativePath));
nothing happend.
What I have now - is availability to make screenshot ant print it via AirPrint in iPad, but I'm still looking for availability to print a document with 2 or more pages.
Any Ideas here ?

yes
you write a mobile app, its only when you compile it you choose android or iOS (or both)
an android app is complied to a 'native' .apk file that uses AIR mobile
an iOS app compiles to native .isa that is apparently indistinguishable to the code that is produced by the apple sdk so there is no need for AIR or flash player
yes, deploying to apple is a pain in the ***, but that is down to their certificate procedure which is presumably the same for objective-c. You have to apply for a certifiate and provisioning file for each app, and each app is approved before it goes in the store.

  • Flex for ipad

    Hello
    Hope you can answer a few questions regarding flex.
    I want to create an ipad/android app that is basically a quiz. Is flex the correct tool for this?
    I thought Apple did not allow Adobe products (flash) to work on their iOS. How is Adobe able to make flex work on iOS?
    Will flex created apps work without any support on iOS - like should Adobe AIR be installed on iOS for flex apps to work on it?
    If so is this done separately or is AIR integrated into flex?
    Can you create games with flex and deploy into iOS/Android?
    The deployment of flex-created projects into iOS seems very cumbersome. While the benefit of write once (in flex) and run everywhere is great, will
    it be better to code in xcode/objective-C for the iOS? Is there a significant time saving while developing in flex?
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • What is the best app for ipad printing

    I Would like to print from my iPad 3 without changing my printer which is wifi. Is there a good app for it?

    Best is relative.
    You can see if your printer manufacturer recommends any. Some apps may work better with some printers.
    If not, I see Print Central, Printopia and Print n Share recommended a lot.

  • IPad Printing Preferences?

    I can't find a way to set the print preferences for iPad printing on my B210a. It seams to default to normal or high quality which I don't need. From a pc you can select draft in preferences, but I can't find a similar function for the iPad. The printer menu doesn't have a method to change the default. Any ideas?

    I have a canon pixma mg5400 and I want to be able to print in black and white...and maybe only print one of the pages...is there an app or a way to do it without logging onto the computer?

    Printing document or image using flex 4.5.1 - is it possible? I want to develope mobile application (ipad) using Adobe 4.5.1 . So is there any way to handle priniting from app.

    you can't directly add image to printing class, create custom component  class for image first, then add to printing class as component.

    Airprint is a technology created by Apple Inc. and introduced in iOS 4.0 that allowed iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches to print directly to Airprint compatible printers. Unlike computer printing where the drivers, fonts, etc. are stored on the computer and sent to the printer with the document with Airprint fonts, drivers, etc. are stored on the printer and need not be sent with the document.
    The solution to your problem is 3rd party software which both Jim and I suggested to you.

  • Does anyone knows a cheap portable printer for iPad?

    Hi,
    I need a portable printer for my iPad. There is no much choice and all of them are expensive (>600$).
    Does anyone know a good portable printer for iPad?
    I don't need to print photos but documents (A4)

    Some suggestions here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23649242#23649242
    Battery-powered printers are rather few and far between and of those that exist not all will work with an iPad. Using a standard AC WiFi printer with an inverter will give you more options.

  • Pages for iPad (2) does not link with bluetooth with Canon airprint printer

    I am using apple Pages appi on iPad2.  I cannot get iPad to find Canon PIXMA airprint capable printer to print  documents.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

    According to the keyboards user guide, the keyboard is discoverable when the indicator light is flashing. Are you trying to pair the two while both are discoverable?
    Try resetting the iPad before trying to pair with the BT keyboard. Press and hold simultaneously the Home and Power buttons for 10+ seconds, ignoring the power off slider, until the Apple logo appears.
    Dah•veed
    I did all of that but not sure that any of it did as much as simply turning off the computer to make sure that the keyboard was not being used by it. I now find that I could have turned off the bluetooth on the computer or made the keyboard 'unselected' by bluetooth to allow the keyboard to be free to be selected and paired by the iPad.
    Thanks for you help on this.

  • How to print documents from an iPad?

    I have an IPad 2 and a Canon Pixma 8120 printer. The printer is wireless, but it does not support air print (or whatever it is called).  Is there a way to print documents that I have on Pages, etc.  Canon offers something for printing pictures, but I can't figure out how to print documents.

    Check the App Store for such an app that can print.

  • Setting up a wireless printer for iPad

    I am trying to purchase a printer to print documents/email/ect. from my ipad using an app. I DO NOT own a computer at home, so I would need to set up the wireless printer on my network without needing a computer to do so. Is anyone aware of any printers that will allow this?
    If not, are there any other ways to allow for printing form the iPad without using a computer as well (for example, a adapter or special cord)?
    Any info will be appreciated!

    You can simply print from your ipad wirelessly without any kind of cables or Internet connections.
    All you need is a simple router like “Tenda W150M Portable Wireless AP/Router (Microcenter: $34.99)” is a small device that can be powered right off of most printers USB ports. Then obviously connect any Wi-Fi ready printer and IPad to this “Tenda” router. No Internet service needed, you are using this for network connectivity purposes only. You now can be anywhere for ex: like in a car and be able to print from your IPad or iphone wirelessly, without any other needed connections.

  • A4 Print document to ipad folio

    Hello
    I am new to the DPS scene and wondering if anyone can help me here.
    I have a lengthy A4 InDesign file (initially set up for print) that I need to use to create dual orientation folio for ipad etc.
    I know you can use alternative and liquid layouts but because the print document was set up with the intent to print - I am wondering if I need to create a new document with the intent for Digital Publishing?
    I hope I have made my query clear!
    Mant thanks ins advance

  • Is the c6180 printer able to print documents for ipad2?

    i have a c6180 printer and can not print documents from apple ipad 2. is there any way to make them compatable?

    If you do not have an ePrint-enabled printer, you will not be able to print from a mobile device using ePrint or AirPrint. However, HP does have a free mobile printing solution for HP wireless printers like the Photosmart C6180: HP iPrint Photo.
    HP iPrint Photo can print .pdf, .txt, .jpg, .png, .tiff, and .bmp files stored on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.
    Instructions on how to download HP iPrint can be found here:
