Flip4 mac for OS X 10.2

I have resurected my Powerbook G3 333 Lombard and am running OS 10.2 on it. Of course, I cannot play any video that is on any websites. I assume I need to install Flip 4 Mac, but am unable to find a version that seems to want to work with my system. Please advise as to what I need to do or where I might go to get what I need for my older system and provide some instructions on how to install.

I'm not sure that Telestream ever offered a version of their codecs for that version of Mac OS X. You probably need to use Microsoft's old Windows Media Player for Mac:

Note that there are WM formats that it won't play, but that applies (albeit to a lesser extent) to the Flip4Mac codecs as well.

Flip4 Mac compression question?

Hi everyone!- I have a flip4 mac question
I made a 4 minute video in Final Cut Pro I want to put on an iweb site.
it made a 57 Megabyte Quicktime file so I used "cleaner" to create from that a 6.8 MB WMV video (320X240) and it actually looks "ok"
I am wondering if anyone who has flip4 mac can answer the following questions as I am considering buying the pro version
1) will flip4 mac make a WMV file
2) will flip 4 mac compress it even smaller to say 3-4 MB (57 MB to 3-4 MB)?
3) does flip4 mac make small flash files?
4) Finally in researching the iweb discussions there seems to be allot of posts that says flip4mac crashes iweb has that been fixed?
PS any other program that any one knows of that will convert a QT movie to a small WMV?

I use Flip4Mac pro to embed .wmv movie files into my iWeb pages. Here is an example:

I have never had a conflict with Flip4Mac Pro and iWeb. I spend hours every week maintaining a very large .wmv media site for my church using Flip Pro to create all of my .wmv movie files and iWeb as my editor. If there were conflict issues, I would have indeed experienced them.
I use iWeb Enhancer to embed the html code to call the Windows Media Player and .wmv files.
The code used to play the embeded .wmv movie in the example above is listed here:

Change the "http://......wmv" strings in the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs to match the server path to the .wmv file you want to play. Also, change height/width measurments to match the size of the iWeb Enhancer box that you create inside the iWeb page. If the sizing measurments are different in the code above from the size of your iWeb Enhancer box, the embedded movie box will not be positioned correctly in the iWeb page.

Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook. Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.

Building a mac for editing?

It is time for me to get a new computer for video editing and from what I hear it is much cheaper to buy the parts and build a computer that will end up being faster and better for video editing. At my last internship the owners built their macs for $800-$900 and they could edit any HD footage using FCP/After Effects and Maya flawlessly. When I try to search this all I see is "hackintosh" and PC's with mac operating systems. Is there a way to build a mac? anyone have a good tutorial or parts list? Is it a good idea to use PC pieces? Would I be better off just buying the 1200$ iMac from best buy? i currently own the older version of this iMac and it cant even watch HD footage in FCP.

Being that this is Apple's discussion boards, it's probably inappropriate to get into a discussion about unauthorized 'hackintosh' solutions. But if you're serious about video production, and need something that you can depend on, then you definitely want to stick with an actual Mac. While some of the hackintosh users have had great experiences building their own boxes, they have universally all had to do a lot of additional tinkering, and had problems with compatibility and updates over the life of their machine. That may not be so bad if you're just goofing around and don't depend on the machine for anything, but it's an absolute dealbreaker if you use the machine professionally.
The good news is that unless you're doing some seriously advanced stuff, you can do a lot on a fairly modest Mac these days. 15 or 17 inch MacBook Pro's (paired with an external drive), and an iMac (ideally also paired with an external drive) are solid solutions even when editing HD video (assuming you're not doing anything too effects-heavy), and a Mac Pro (which can easily accommmodate several internal drives) can handle just about anything you can throw at it. While Mac Pro's are expensive to start and just skyrocket upwards, they're extremely powerful and reliable (designed from the ground up to be 'always-on') and even the base model is pretty capable for video production.
Whichever route you go, opt for upgraded graphics/GPU (if it's available), and you'll want to aim for 8GB RAM (on iMac and Mac Pro, you have the option of 16GB or more). A second hard drive is also highly recommended (for your cache and data files).

In my frustration , amongst lots of open web pages tutorials and other useless information , I come across innocent looking link and software to installed called Genieo , which suppose to help with any router .
Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

On the Mac with the libraries you want to share:
iTunes Preferences click on the Sharing tab and put a tick in 'Share by library on local network'.
iPhoto Preferences click on Sharing and put a tick against 'Share my photos'.
When launching the same apps on other Macs on the network the libraries should be available, listed on the left.

If you have Lion and wireless you can use Airdrop to copy files back and forth. (You don't need an internet connection, just two reasonably recent Lion machines with WiFi cards.)

Did you by chance have photo stream turned on? If so then they might be there. When you restored your phone it deleted everything and they will be unretreivable from your computer.
