Fluke NetDAQ

Good day,
i search about ethernet communication between Labview and
Fluke NetDAQ, but everything i found was old stuff,l unable to
be opened in my Labview version.
Does anyone have a VI that can adquire data from Fluke NetDAQ?
Or at least show the way.
Thank you and best regards,
João Reiser.
Whirlpool LAR.

Hi, João. How are you?
Try to use this. Its the same vi, but in new version.
Any questions just ask.
Regards.

  • How do I use the VIs for the Fluke Hydra Series 2620a multimeter?

This message refers to the VIs found at this link:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9468659CE034080020E74861
How do I use the VIs for the Fluke Hydra Series 2620a multimeter? I am conducting a Senior Design Project at Temple University. It is a Control System where I need to read voltages from sensors and output voltages to different system components. I am trying to set up a VI using the VIs found above to make sure that I can successfully read and send voltages. There was no documentation given with the 2620a VIs.

Unfortunately, you've got a very old driver for an old instrument. The only available help is to turn on Context Help and move your mouse over the VI icon. It doesn't appear to have any help for individual controls and indicators. The only good news is that it appears to be a simple instrument with only a few functions. There's some main ones line initialize (to set serial port), configure channel, configure instr, and read values. One main thing is whether you're using gpib or serial, Each front panel has a setting. If it's gpib, set the port to the gpib address. If it's serial, set the port to one number less than the com port you're connected to. For example, if you're using Com1, set the port to 0. For the other controls, I'm afraid that you're going to have to try and compare what's there with the controls and settings of the actual instrument. Having access to the instrument manual will be essential. I would engourage you to experiment a little. There's probably very little chance of damaging the instrument especially if nothing is hooked up to it. Send a command and see what happens or set the instrument up manually and see if you can reproduce that via remote control.

  • Labview 8 SE, Mac OS X, Fluke 187

Hi, I'm new to Labview but not to programming and instrumentation.
I've got a G4 Powerbook with 1Gb and Mac OS 10.4. I've installed Labview 8 SE and it appears to run correctly.
I also have a Fluke 187 DMM which has a USB connection to a computer. I'm trying to use the 187 with Labview.
I found an IVI for the 187 (Fluke 18x series) on the NI Driver board, and have copied the files to the instr.lib directory. This leads
me to believe that Labview can communicate and control the 187.
When I run the 187 example, I am unable to connect to 187 because the Visa resource pick list does not contain any USB entries, only serial entries.
After searching around, I downloaded the NI-DAQmx base package and installed it, hoping it would fix the apparant USB problem.
When I run the NI-VISA configuration utility, it shows 3 Serial resources and 4 USB0 resources.
Any ideas on why NI-VISA doesn't recognize USB?
    Thanks,
    Russ Harper

    Hi Russ,
What version of VISA are you using?  If you aren't using the current version, you should install the latest version.  You need to setup the USB device first before it will show up correctly.  The USB Instrument Control Tutorial discusses this.  If you aren't using the latest version of VISA, updating it could also fix it so that USB is not greyed out on the Driver Development Wizard.
    Hope this helps!

  • Calibration Executive with Fluke 5502A Calibrator

    I have the following software/instruments:
    Windows XP
    Calibration Executive 3.5
    NI-DMM 3.1
    Fluke 5502A Calibrator
    A variety of NI DMMs
    What I want to do:
Calibrate my NI DMMs using Calibration Executive and the Fluke 5502A Calibrator in automated mode (i.e. not manual mode where the user is prompted to configure each calibrator setpoint)
    The problem I'm encountering:
Calibration Executive 3.5 is written such that the Fluke 5500A, 5700A, 5520A, and 5720A are the selectable calibrators (in addition to "Enter Unsupported Instrument" which sends you to manual mode).  Within the normal LabVIEW environment, the Fluke 5502A is capable of operating via the same instrument drivers that are available for the Fluke 5500A, if one tells the init VIs to ignore the fact that the 5502A does not return "5500" for it's *IDN? query.  However, the same is not true of the Calexec environment (yet).  If I select the 5500A as my calibrator within Calexec (when I've actually got the 5502A), I get initialization errors.  I need Calibration Executive to accept the 5502A as a "member of the family".  Unfortunately the 5502A is not capable of doing a 5500A emulation mode, per feedback from Fluke.

Just a followup to provide Fluke's documentation about the 5502A:  http://support.fluke.com/calibration-sales/Download/Asset/9010582_ENG_A_W.PDF
Within the FAQ section of this document:
Does the 5502A use same the commands of other Fluke 55XX calibrators? Yes the 5502A uses
the same remote control commands as the earlier 5500A, 5520A and 5522A series calibrators. The
only difference is that it answers the remote ID command with a response of being a 5502A.

  • Communicate to a Fluke 8840a, VB, IEEE-488; Error ECIC(1)

I am trying to communicate to a Fluke 8840a using VB 6/Measurement Studio via IEEE-488
Using Explore GPIB I can scan and find the DMM.  However when ever I try to “Communicate with Instrument” I’m getting a ECIC (1) error [NI Spy] no matter what is typed into the “send string”.  I have been through the help files and nothing has worked or I am doing something wrong [most likely].
I have look at the fluke example and other examples and it is not much help as I keep getting the CIC error
I know the interface works on the DMM because it is calibrated through the port.
NI-488.2 Version is 1.6, NI Spy is 1.4.  My development system is Windows 2000 [no out side net connection]
    Any help is much appreciated

    Matt S,
This was not the answer I was hoping for but what I sort of expected.  The reason was the additional paper work I needed/had to go through to allow the download of the executable from the net.
I got the upgrade installed and was able to read the DMM through the Explorer with no problem.  From here, I do not expect any further problems.
    Thanks Again
    Matt

  • When using the vi: "FLUKE 884X Series Read Single Measurement.vi" with a FLUKE 8846A it is reading an "overload" error message

The vi: "FLUKE 884X Series Read Single Measurement.vi" can be downloaded from "http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=9431"
I want to use this driver to read out a 4-wire resistance which in deed is a PT100 resistor to measure the temperature.
When i click on the "run continuously" - button on the LabVIEW Front Panel, the program reads out the current resistance.
However after each readout there comes the "overload" - error message on the display of the 8846a multimeter.
Sometimes there can be also seen a small "error" - sign on the display and sometimes the 8846a beeps.
I already deactivated the "ID-Query" in the "Initialize.vi"
What can i do to prevent these error-messages ?
    Solved!

No no no. The "run continuously"  button is for debugging only and should not be used to run the program at all. If you are polling your instrument to often it will be confused. Check your timing. I think your program poll your instrument at "full speed", perhaps it works because you open and close GPIB driver on every iteration, giving some delay between each readout.
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • Fluke 5500A Driver does not work

I am connecting my computer to the Fluke 5500A Calibrator. Using Labview 7.1 and VISA 3.2. The driver from the web does not work. Do I need to download the old version of the VISA? Has anybody facing the same problem?
    Thanks
    Lian

In order to help you, you should really give some details on what exactly doesn't work. I did look at the driver though, and have one suggestion. It uses an old VISA Open function in FL5XMCAL Initialize. You should replace it with the VISA Open on your palette. When you do that, the wire to the string called Instr.Descriptor is broken. Delete this string, make the VISA Session control visible, and wire this to the connector pane where the string control was wired. If you want, you can also replace the string controls in the 2 VIs that call the initialize function with VISA Resource Names as well. These are the 2 Getting Started VIs. I've never used this instrument but I've never had much luck getting a driver with the "old" VISA Open function to work. Having a VISA Resource Name on the front panel makes things a lot easier anyway since you don't have to type in an address. Just click the arrow and pick from the resources available.

  • ITunes deleted videos from phone. Customer support says: Fluke

So I synced a season of Everybody hates chris that had been sitting on my computer since the summer last night. I watched one shortly after syncing and deleted it from the phone. Then I deleted the season from my computer to make room for more recordings coming off of the TiVo. This morning, those new files had been converted to iPhone format and were themselves ready for syncing. So before syncing, I unchecked the Everybody... season since I didn't want the deleted file getting put back on there. But when I checked the phone, the entire season was gone.
I called iPhone support to ask why it would delete those files. After placing me on hold, she comes back and says it was just a fluke. She recommended restoring from backup, but since my phone had not been backed up since the 1st, it would have done no good.
Frankly, I'm getting pretty sick of iTunes. The 121 menu options to select what I want, and still I wind up losing files. Is there an App or some other program that can help me interact reliably with my phone?!? Is a simple drag and drop ever going to become an option?

No, I don't think so. I hate iTunes too, it is the worse software installed on my computer.

  • Fluke 284 Arbitrary Waveform Generator Phase Lock Channel Synchronization

I am using Fluke 284 Arbitrary Waveform generator (not NI instrument). I am trying to make use of LabVIEW to assign channel 1 as the master and the other three as slaves to phase lock the slaves and change precisely the phase offset with respect to the master.
The error explanation that I received was:
    Possible reason(s):
    Error -1074000000 occurred at Fluke 28x Series.lvlib:Error Query.vi
Instrument reports:Inter channel lock not possible. Refer to manual for more details.
    Complete call chain:
        Fluke 28x Series.lvlib:Error Query.vi
        Fluke 28x Series.lvlib:Configure
I would like to know of there is any other block that I need to add to control the output of the master and the input of the slave. I have referred to chapter 13 of the users manual which I have also attached.

Don't know what the problem is, but the error number is strange. It's not a standard error for Windows, LV or the instrument in question...

  • I want to read the settings (time/div,Volt/div,delay,etc...)from a waveform that is saved into a memory register of a FLUKE PM3394A Combiscope.

    Dear all,
I am writing a labview application for a Fluke PM3394A Combiscope. I want to read the settings (time/div,Volt/div,delay,etc...)from a waveform that is saved into a memory register. Can somebody help me on this? The Labview driver library I found on NI.com doesn't support this.
    Greetings
    Davy

Unless you've used some sort of "auto-setup" for the scope, all of the settings are what your program commands the scope to use. Once you've acquired a waveform, typically all that is contained is the raw data. If you need the settings later in the program, you'll have to save them by putting them into a shift register/local variable/plain old wire. If you do use an "auto-setup" (I don't remember if the scope has this feature) and the driver has no query functions, then you'll probably have to write your own. These are usually pretty simple to do and are usually similar to the settings commands with the addition of a "?" at the end. For example, if the command to set coupling of channel 1 is ":INP 1:COU AC", then to query it the command might be "INP 1:COU?"
and you would do a read and get "AC". The instrument programming manual should explain all of the command/query syntax.

  • Fluke Hydra Data Logger

I'm looking for a driver to command a Fluke Hydra 2620 data logger using the
    new VISA serial functions....
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Alberto

    Hi widelite,
There are several options you can take to determine if your communication is occurring as you expect. The first thing I would recommend would be to go into Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), and communicate with the instrument from this environment. Because MAX is a sort of intermediary between the hardware and software, we can see whether or not we're getting good information from the hardware, and then we can work on getting it into LabVIEW.
To communicate with the Fluke instrument in MAX, do the following steps:
    1. In the Communication window, go to My System >> Devices and Interfaces >> Ports and highlight the COM port you are using.
    2. Click the "Open VISA Session" button on the toolbar at the top.
    3. Go to the Basic I/O lig
ht-blue tab in the new Window that appears.
    4. From here, you can execute Write functions to send commands to the device, and execute a Read to get the data back.
Once you can verify that the device is communicating with the computer, you can then use a shipping example that comes with LabVIEW to verify that LabVIEW can get the information in. The Basic Serial Write and Read.vi is a good one that you can use just to send a command to the device and read back data.

  • Fluke 45 Again

Please clarify the procedure used to acquire data from the Fluke 45 with the serial port in ANY possible way. I am new to NI and am unfamiliar with all aspects of this product.
    Thanks.

    Jeff,
I would recommend that you start by looking at the Serial Compatibility VIs in the online help. The basic LabVIEW program, will use a Serial Port Init to configure the serial port (should only need to be done once), serial port write to transmit data (will usually be done many times in the program), a bytes at serial port wired to the read serial port to read the data that the instrument you transmitted sent, and finally a serial port close (done at the end of the program). Additionally, you can look at the serial communication examples.
You will need to know the valid commands for the Fluke 45 in order to communicate it. Likewise, you will need to know what the responses look like in order to decode the response.
    Regards,
    Aaron
