FLV showing up as white box?

I'm uploading 2 flv files to our website. Both flv files were edited with Media Encoder to be changed into flv. This is not the first time I have uploaded flv files to our site. We add our tv ads via flv, on average, every 2 months or so. The procedure is always the same and I did nothing different with these new flv files. However, this time, the flv files are showing up as a white box on our site instead of loading the flv players as usual. The "live view" in Dreamweaver shows the videos correctly...the flv player loads and I can watch the tv ads.
I took both ads off the page and added an old tv ad, just to see if it would work and it worked beautifully. But when I put the 2 new tv ads back on, I get the white box again. I have revisited Media Encoder and redited the tv ads, added the reedited ads back to Dreamweaver, and reuploaded, but still I get the same white box. I compared the code from the old tv ad and the new ones and the code is exactly the same (except for filename, of course). I checked to see if the new tv ads were made differently from our old ones and they were not. The expressinstall and swfobject scripts are uploaded to our site already since we use various flash files on the site (don't know if this even matters!). And each time I upload, it is uploading the skin and progressive player as well.
I am at a loss! Nothing should have changed with our hosting company. I took an old, working tv ad off our website in order to put the new ones on. I have no idea where to go from here. The specific page on our site is www.ourphf.com/currentad.html. I've tried uploading the new videos in all different sizes as well, thinking maybe it was a size issue. Please help!

Your video isn't showing up because your SWF file is blank
http://www.ourphf.com/FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf
Is this the actual name of your FLV file?
PHF_%231_1-23-13_1
If not, you should rename your file without any special characters.

    On my new MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks. This also happens on a website editor. But, when I am connected to the internet via Wifi, everything load properly. This is my work computer, so I have to be able to connect through the Ethernet cable to access everything. Please help me!

    I mostly use Safari. But I also tried it on Firefox, Mozilla, and Camino. Mac OS X. It's my work computer, so I've only tried it at the office. I have to be connected through the Ethernet cable to access my files and email on the server.

  • Chinese characters show up as white boxes when doing captions

    I am using Premiere Pro CC 2014 on a late 2013 MacBook Pro. I am trying to add Traditional Chinese subtitles to my video. I have imported a .dfxp file and added it to the timeline on V2 above my video track on V1. I have rendered the timeline. I have activated the closed captioning display. When I view the .dfxp file in the Captions Window, I can see the Chinese characters in the text boxes with their associated in and out points on the timeline. THE PROBLEM: IN THE PROGRAM MONITOR WINDOW, THE CHINESE CHARACTERS SHOW UP AS WHITE BOXES INSTEAD OF THE CHINESE CHARACTERS.
    I have added all of the available Chinese fonts from Adobe Typekit. I have restarted Premiere to see if adding these fonts did anything to help. It did not. My question: how can I get the Chinese characters to appear instead of the white boxes?
    Here's what it looks like:

    Thanks for the post -- I'd file a bug report on this.

  • Spry menu in IE showing as a white box????!!!! : /

    Hi All!
    Not sure what's happening, but the spry menu i created in DW
    is showing as a solid white box in IE?!!?!? Here's the site i'm
    working on: http://mariasdesignportfolio.com/IC/
    If there's something in the CSS that's not compatible or what-
    ever the case may be, please let me know...much appreciated!
    Thanks! : )
    p.s. Happy (almost) New Year!

    At the bottom of SpryMenuBarHorizontal you have
    @media screen, projection
      ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE
        display: inline;
        f\loat: left;
        background: #FFF;
    Either change the colour or remove the line.
    Gramps.
    PS In case you want to ask why the horizontal sub menu items, have a look at
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul
         margin: 0;
         padding: 0;
         list-style-type: none;
         font-size: 14px;
         z-index: 1020;
         cursor: default;
         width: auto;
         position: absolute;
         left: -1000em;
         height: auto;
         top: auto;
    Where you have given the submenu all the width that it needs. To fix the problem, give the width some value like 8em.

  • Missing thumbnails showing up as white boxes

    I have completed transferring in my Aperture library, but the majority of the thumbnails are now empty white boxes! Clicking on them reveals the correct photo, but I am still left with a blank white thumbnail.
    Any suggestions beyond repairing the library, which I have already tired?
    Thanks.

    had the same problem and repairing the library doesn't fix it either as before with iPhoto. If your thumbnails haven't shown up by now you can regerate it by renaming the thumbnails folder/deleting it.
    Quit Photo
    Open Finder and Go to Pictures folder > find the Photo's Library icon
    Right click or two finger tap if you have a trackpad
    Select show package contents
    Find the Thumbnails folder rename to .old or delete it by right clicking or two finger tap on the thumbnail folder.
    Relaunch Photo's and the Thumbnails folder slowly increase in size as it regenerates all the thumbnails.
    If you have a large library it can take a while but thats what I did to get it fixed for me.

  • Thumbnails showing up as white boxes / squares.

    I recently loaded up iPhoto and went through the library and deleted a whole bunch of photos - mostly poorly taken shots or things that I no longer want around. When I went back into iPhoto, all of those photos I delelted are now showing as white boxes and making iPhoto run exceedingly slow! I searched around on this forum and found a couple similar problems but nothing exactly on target. I tried rebuilding the library (started iPhoto with the command-option keys down) but that didn't work either.
    Any other ideas?

    Daniel:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. How did you go about deleting the files? From within iPhoto and then empty the iPhoto trash? Or did you delete them from the Finder? If it was from the Finder see if this will help:
    How to recover those photos lost due to renaming or moving in the Finder
    1 - make a backup copy of your iPhoto Library folder
    2 - do a search of just the iPhoto library folder with the following criteria:
    File name contains ".jpg" and File size is less than 1 KB.
    That will find all of those zero sized files that were created when iPhoto couldn't fine the originals.
    3 - move those zero sized image files to the trash.
    4 - now delete those "bad" photos from the iPhoto library using the normal method. (you don't have to but if you don't they will be recovered every time you do a library rebuild with the "recover orphaned photos" option selected).
    5 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and when the rebuild menu comes up select the last option, "Recover orphaned photos in the iPhoto Library folder"
    This will recover those renamed files and put then in a new roll. The only downside is that their titles in iPhoto will be "Roll xx-1, etc. You can do a Get Info on them, find the actual file name and change the title so they are the same.
    So it can be done with a little work.

  • Album art showing up as white box on iphone

    I have an issue with album art displaying in the ipod app on my iphone. If you take a look at the pic linked here: http://yfrog.com/0rimg0091up
    When albums dont have album art they show up with a generic grey music icon (#1 in the image), but I have albums with artwork in itunes, but the iphone displays the art as a white blank square (see #2 in the image).
    Anyone have this issue or can suggest a solution? Thanks.

    I just noticed this on my phone today.
    17 out of 360 albums have 'white box' artwork.
    I'm sure they were showing up previously, and I haven't recently synced my phone either.
    Tried turning off & turned back on, but still the same.
    Interestingly, when you actually play any tracks from the album or browse in horizontal 'cover flow' view, the artwork displays fine.
    It's only in the 'artists' or 'albums' list view that they display incorrectly.
    weird.

  • Iphone4 pictures showing up as white boxes

    I have an iphone 4 and lately everytime I take a picture whether it is from the lock screen or not, the pictures turn up as white boxes.  Some of my pictures are now multiples as well.  What happened and how can I fix this?

    Depending on your iOS, Software Updates or recent iPhoto usage it could be a variety of things.
    I quote,"
    Some sort of corruption is happening or has already happened.
    Are these images viewable on the iphone in the camera roll?
    Do you have any camera apps on your iphone other that the Apple Camera and Photo App? Such as a different camera app, a cropping app, any other viewing apps?
    First thing I would do, is remove all the photos from the iPhone using Image Capture (import and delete) but don't import them to iPhoto, just import them to a folder on your Mac.
    You may get errors when trying to import them, if you do, they are definitely corrupt, and probably unrecoverable, so you will just have to delete them using Image Capture.
    If you get no errors, once they have been imported, see if you can open them with Preview. If you can they are OK, if you can't view them, they are corrupt.
    Once the iPhone is empty of photos from the camera roll, unsync iPhoto.
    If you are using any other camera/photo apps on the iphone, remove them.
    Reboot the iphone
    Re-sync the iPhoto to your iphone.
    Make sure that you can view photos in the Photo App, that you have resynced to your iPhone.
    If all appears OK, take some photos, view them in the iPhone and then see if you can import them.
    If they become corrupt again, there is a problem that needs to be looked at.
    Now if everything appears to be working and you had removed some 3rd party apps, check in iTunes that you have the latest version and then resync them, but only one at a time and then check again after each has been installed and used, to see if corruptions occur again.
    If the corruption occurs again, then remove the problem App again and make sure the problem goes away again. If it does, don't reinstall that App, as there is some sort of issue with it.
    Hope this helps."

  • Pictures Showing as White Boxes

    I upgraded from an iPhone 5c to an iPhone 6. On December 22nd when I restored my phone from my iCloud backup all of my photos showed up as white boxes. Since then some have shown up but most of them are still showing up as white boxes. It says downloading below my albums. When I click on the photos that show as white boxes it says "loading" but then goes right back to being blank. It has been like this for over a week & it is starting to become extremely annoying. Some of my most important photos are showing up as white. Any ideas or solutions? Someone please help!

    Wait until the restore from backup finishes, connect to wifi and plug it to a wall outlet and let it finish.

  • Spry menu problem in IE- showing as white box

    Help please. My spry menus are showing as a white box in Internet Explorer. All other browsers are fine. I am a newbie and don't know how to fix the problem. http://harmonized.harmonized-design.com.

    I recreated your web page and it's working for me:
    http://www.elanwebservices.com/example/index.htm
    If you look at page in IE8, I think you will see your navigation links without the white block. I just looked at your page again and I am still seeing the navigation ID. You try detaching your template from the page. I think DW templates are a bad idea; they cause all kinds of problems.
    If my link works and yours doesn't, compare the code.

  • DW4: FLV Video Showing as White Box

    I am trying to read through all the past posts, but need to get this out to a client quickly and haven't yet found an answer to my issue.
    I had an .mp4 file that I converted to .flv using Media Encoder. I inserted the .flv file per instructions. I now have the .flv file , along with the clear_skin_1.swf file and the flvplayer_progressive.swf file in one folder. The expressinstall.swf and swfobject_modified.js files are in the scripts folder. I have loaded them both to my server. Upon viewing in browser, all I get is just the white box.
    Here is the link: http://chameleoninteractive.net/clients/isca/isca.htm
    Could really use the hold on this. Oh! and just ignore the video underneath...it is a placeholder and altogether different.

  • FLV video is showing as white box

    Hi everyone
    I am really puzzled here
    I have converted video to FLV format and when I go into
    dreamweaver 8 / CS3 I go to the top menu, select insert, then
    select flash video
    I select the file I am using
    I then select auto detect for the video to be the original
    window size
    Then it inserts fine but when I preview in dreamweaver or
    preview in HTML... I do not see any video or play buttons
    All I get is a blank white box where the flash video was
    inserted
    Please can anyone help on why this is happening
    Thanks

    You have to use either a browser or an FLV player to preview
    FLV format .
    .you can't preview it in the tool itself. You also have to
    upload the
    supporting files .. my guess is that the one you missed was
    the Scripts
    folder and script that is placed in it when you embed the FLV
    in the page.
