FM to get DDIC field possible values from checktable and corresponding text

Hi,
I am developing a web solution that hooks into SAP. This has some drop-downs in there on some fields that I determine at runtime. If those fields are defined in the data dictionary and their domain has fixed values then I have a function module that will go and get the possible values and their corresponding texts.
However, if the domain has a checktable, then I haven't been able to find a function module or class method that will allow me to pass the data dictionary reference and get a list of possible values with texts.
Does anyone know of such a function module/ method?

I've just tested the code, but it does not return any values for domname = 'RFBSK' and also not for domname = 'LAND1', which is the domain I'm looking for.

If your installer is requiring some process it invokes to return a particular value on failure, then the installer is seriously broken. There are a bazillion commands your installer could invoke, and any of them could fail, which in turn could invalidate the entire install process, and any of them could return any value on failure. The only value that's consistent (in my experience) is that zero means success and non-zero means failure, with specific non-zero values being different in different programs.
About the only control you have over the JVM's exit code is that if your main method completes without throwing an exception, the JVM will have an exit code of 0, and if main throws an exception (either explicitly or by not catching one thrown from below), it will be non-zero. I'm not even sure if that's guaranteed, but I would guess that's the case.
EDIT: I'm kind of full of crap here. If you're writing the Java code, you can call System.exit(whatever). But nonetheless, if your installer requires certain exit codes from any app--java or otherwise--you have a problem.

First, reset your password as follows.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.
If you're being prompted to authenticate when making changes to files inside your home folder, continue as follows.
Back up all data now.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:

The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2

Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer. As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you. I'm sure you'll pay, however.
Let this be a very important lesson learned.

I am not getting the values of all the attributes in hashmap from Trusted recon in eventhandler.
Following is the hashmap value I am getting :
Parameter Hashmap value is {re_key=1869, Email=[email protected], Role=Full-Time, act_key=22, User Login=TUser43, Xellerate Type=End-User, Last Name=User43, First Name=Test}
Please let me know how to get all the attributes value in eventhandler. I need to take some decisions based on these attributes.

You should be getting all the values in the recon event.
To get the current user states for all the records in the bulk event use this:
Identity[] currentUserStates = (Identity[]) eventDataHashMap.get("CURRENT_USER");
Now when you are looping through your bulkParametersp[], you can use the same get from the currentUserStates:
Identity currentUser = null;
currentUser = currentUserStates[counter];
Now if the attribute is not in your hashmap, you can use:
currentUserState.getAttributes().get(attribute)

How can I get dataTable to display values from the java layer?

When I use the dataTAble in my JSP page it will only display values from my java layer if the facets tag has it's name set to "header". Why is this happening?
If I set it to "header" and I look at the page source it actually has created the correct number of rows but it doesn't put the values between the <td> tags? It see's the length of my list but it doesn't pick the values out of the list.

I've been able to get it working with some of those changes along with changes in the JSP. I think it's a setting or two in the JSP that'll allow the program to run correctly.
I have a list and it's returned like what you suggested. A day or two ago I tried to move the outputtext outside of the facet tag but nothing would print, I know believe that's related to the following setting in the JSP:
rows="0" in the <h:dataTAble tag
Unfortunately the dataTAble isn't displaying the values correctly. It prints all of the values (Strings) in the list on each row and it make a new row for the number of items in the list.......... ???

I think you want to do a nested loop within each Item in the data provider, to pull out each child's (series1, series2, etc). "label" attribute.

Infosource Fields with values from multiple Data Sources

Hi Experts,
My question is:
i have to load values of only few fields of 0LIS_11_VAHDR and few fields of 0LIS_11_VAITM into one infocube.
If i just create one infosource with those fields only in communication structure, but then i can assign only one data source at time, how to load values from another datasources at same time?
Can i do it using single infosurce? and if yes any guideline....

My dear, the problem is that even for the first solution (only one infosource) you have to manage two separate dataloads, since linking several datasources to one infosource means only that you can manage a unique communication structure, but different transfer rules/structures and, avove all, two different infopackages !
So, you have anyway to face the automation issue of your dataloading.
My suggestion has been more functional and conceptual than technical (for which I gave the same answer, that is, "you can do it"): you are not loading a master data source (the same object 0MATERIAL) with attributes, texts and hierarchies (and in this case it's obvious that you have to use one infosource); here you want to use the infosource dedicated to the header flow to load item info too (and you will have to use the same and unique update rules).
Again, no problem from a technical point of view, but I guess that someone who will look into your architecture, probably, will have something to say with this kind of choice !!!

Inserting sequence value from JDBC and getting the same value back

Hi: Gurus I have a table whose primary key is a sequence. I wonder how to make sure I get the same sequence value back for current transaction so I update the other table whose foreign key is the sequence value from first table.
E.g lets say I do this
String query_insert = INSERT INTO table1 (column1, ....) VALUES (HIGHLIGHT_ID_SEQ.nextval, ...);
pstmt = con.prepareStatement(query_insert);
pstmt.executeUpdate();
How I make sure no other transaction update the sequence value so I can read the last inserted sequence value and update the second table with this value

Dynamically get the Max value from table and insert max value + 1 in Target

Hi All, I have a requirement given below, need help in building a solution for this: A mapping that will get the dynamically get the max value(Basically a number) from table , this target table is used by many other concurrent jobs and updated very frequently. My requirement is to get max value from this target table dynamically (Using dynamic look up) and then have an expression to increment by 1 and then load it to Target.I tried using SELCT max(col1) from target in dynamic look up override but this does not seem to work.Any work around here? Unable to return value from LOV to the text field

I have created the LOV and attached in the database text item. I have done the mapping to the require field in the LOV properties and I was able to show the LOV whenever reach that field by press F9 with all the records in my query. However, when I try to press enter to select one of the data in the LOV screen, the data was not return to the column which I have defined the LOV. What's wrong with this ?

Check is there any KEY-LIST-VAL trigger has any code. And Also check by assigning the same value to a dummy item for testing.
