Need Help to get value from MessageChoice and pass it to another MesgChoice

Hi All,
How to get a value from a messageChoice1 in CO into a variable. Once the messageChoice1 is selected i need to pass this variable into a VO whereClause and the page get refreshed, so that another messageChoice2 in the same page will have the values based on the messageChoice1 value.

I think you want to do a nested loop within each Item in the data provider, to pull out each child's (series1, series2, etc). "label" attribute.

Need help to set values from web.xml in a jsp class

I`m trying to get value from my web.xml file into a jsp class. The problem is that the value always retur null. My web.xml file is replaced in the WEB-INF directory where should be. Here is my web.xml

Help: cant get values from a resultset

i have a class that contains all my MySQL statement and i am trying to use the results found from one of my select statements to pass on into another class which displays the results in a gui form. Here is my query:

Does the user String match the database String
exactly?
Some databases are case sensative.Sorry posted before done.
Also, ensure you do not have trailing spaces in one or both. I remember Oracle had this problem a few years ago using the Type 4 driver but not through ODBC.

How to import values from txt and pass values to variables

I need to export some variables from Indesign and import them in Illustrator. I can export a txt file from InDesign but I don't know how to import and pass the values to variables in Illustrator.

Help with getting values from request. Very Strange!!

My very strange problem is the following.
I have created three dynamic list boxes. When the user select
the first list box, the second becomes populated with stuff
from a database. The third becomes populated when the second
is selected. Now, I have used hidden values in order for
me to get the selected value from the first listbox. The
following code is my first listbox:

I lose the value of hiddenObject. Why is this??
The code to populate my second listbox is the following:

Form parameters are request-scoped, hence the request.getParameter("hiddenObject"); call after the submission of the second form returns a null value because the hiddenObject parameter does not exist within the second request.
A solution would be to add a hiddenObject field to your second form and alter the onChange event for res_categories to read

document.hiddenform2.submit();You will then come across a similar problem with your third drop-down if indeed you need to resubmit the form...
A far better approach would be to create a session scoped bean, and a servlet to handle these requests. Then when the servlet is called, it would set the value of the bean property, thus making it available for this request, and all subsequent requests within the current session. This approach would eliminate the need for the clunky javascript, making your application far more stable.

Create a Class which will hold the values you want and return that object. Or return a List, or return an array, or - taking your example with the person, why don't you return the whole person object?

I need help regarding scanning of image directly from scanner. Here is the scenario when the person clicks scan button on the webpage should scan the image and resize it and store it in some temp location. Is there any way i can do this. Any Help regarding this would be great!!!

Expense reporting, get values from column and return only unique values somewhere else

i would like check a column for the values it contains (expense categorizations) and then return a list of only the unique values somewhere else in a vertical list. So "gasoline" may be listed 12 times in the reference list but in my result listing i would expect it to only show up once. If there is a way to do this then I would also like to know how empty cells are handled.
I will then be applying a SUMIF to the returned list to get totals for all the unique categorization a have specified.

Deleting the first row made your $F$2 become $F$1.
Explaining how a formula works is not so easy to do. I'll try, but the best way is to read up on the formulas and piece it all together. There's nothing fancy or tricky going on here.
The "active ingredient" in the formula is this piece: OFFSET('Table 1-2'::$F$1,SMALL('Table 1-2'::G,ROW()−1)−1,0)
ROW() returns the row number of the cell that has the formula in it. It is an easy way to get an ever increasing number for the formula. The other way would be to have another column with 1,2,3,4, etc. in it. So, ROW() will return the number 1 if the formula is in row 1, will return the number 2 in row 2, etc.
SMALL(range, n) returns the nth smallest number from the given range of numbers. So, for the formula in row 2, SMALL('Table 1-2'::G, ROW()−1) becomes SMALL('Table 1-2'::G, 1) which will return the 1st smallest number from the G column of Table 1-2. In the 3rd row it would return the 2nd smallest number. Etc. And remember that those numbers it is returning are the row numbers of your unique values in Table 1-2.
OFFSET(base, row offset, column offset) is a way of referencing a cell. For instance, OFFSET($F$1,1,0) would be one row down from cell F1. OFFSET($F$1,2,3) would be two rows down and three columns to the right of cell F1. The SMALL formula has given you the row number for a unique value in your Table 1-2. To reference the correct row, the row offset from F1 needs to be one less than that number (an offset of 0 = cell F1. An offset of 1 = cell F2, etc.). The column offset is zero.

Help on getting value from string

Hello can someone please help me with my code?
I would like to know how to get a value in a string as an integer type
This is what I have so far

However the sum does not turn out to be 1+2+3+4+5 = 15 because the value of c will always turn out to be 48 more than it is supposed to be
for example when f = 1 then c would = 49
f = 2 then c would = 51

Will convert the String to an integer.The original poster was looking for a way to convert a single digit in a string to its numeric value, not to convert the whole string to an integer.
I forgot to mention that this is contained in the
java.text package, so you will need to
import java.text.*;Integer is in the java.lang package, so no import is necessary.

Getting values from checkboxes and emailing

I have several checkboxes name="area[]"
the user can check as many as they like.
To get the value in php I used
$f_area = $_REQUEST['area'] ;
and if I want to print out the values I say
echo $f_area[0];
echo $f_area[1];
echo $f_area[2];
The problem occurs when the user don't check every single
checkbox because it still prints the maximum number of items.
I know I need to use a loop and have it run as many times as
there are items in the array so I used the following code which
doesn't work.
