FM to get product guid from serial no.

Hi,
I have serial number of a product. I want to get the product guid. Is there any FM for this. I can get the product guid from serial no from this table by select statement but I was searching for any FM which I can use it directly.

Hi Khalid,
The FM COM_PRODUCT_GUID_GET does not take serial number as input. I found the FM which I was looking for CRM_BSP_COMP_SEARCH. Anyways, thanks for your help.

go to the but000 give the partner number and get the partner guid. Pass your partner number in the table CRMD_ORDER_INDEX and OBJECT_TYPE = BUS2000111 .

Hi Girish,
Use FM "COM_PRCAT_READ" to read the product type of a product category.
Give the Product category Guid and you will get product type.
To get the Guid of a product use FM 'BBP_CATEGORY_GET_GUID'.

How do I use a runbook Activity on an Incident and Runbook Initialize Data activity to sync and get the GUid from the Incident?

I currently have a runbook running every hour to attach Incidents Templates to Problems. I would like to just add a runbook activity to the Incident Template to activate the runbook, and only link that Incident to the problem it needs to be attached to.
I don't know how to set-up my Initialize Data activity in my runbook to load the calling Incidents GUID though.
I'm very new to Orchestrator, so please be detailed in your directions.
The way my runbook works now is, I make my incident templates have the PR # they are for in the Alt Contact Block. My runbook searched for that, and then loads the PR# it has there and creates the relationship between the two, and then deletes that PR# so
it doesnt hit on the next search.
I would like my activity that calls the runbook to pass the Incident GUID to the runbook, so my runbook only has to query the PR# included in the incident, and create the relationship that way.

Basically, you'll receive the ID of the runbook automation activity from Service Manager, which you can then use with the Get Object and Get Relationship to get the runbook activity object, then get the incident object related to it. I realize this is confusing,
but there should be more info out there to search on as well. Hope that helps.

VISA Read gets incorrect data from serial connection

I am having difficulty using the VISA functions in LabVIEW to read data from a virtual COM port. Data is being sent from a serial to USB chip via a USB connection using OpenSDA drivers. I have a python program written to read from this chip as well, and it never has an issue. However, when trying to achieve the same read in LabVIEW I am running into the problem of getting incorrect data in the read buffer using the VISA Read function.
I have a VISA Configure Serial Port function set up with a control to select the COM port that the device is plugged into. Baud rate is default at 9600. Termination char of my data is a newline, which is also default. Enable termination char is set to true. A VISA Open function follows this configuration, and then feeds the VISA Resource Name Out into a while loop where a VISA Read function displays the data in read buffer. Byte count for the VISA Read is set to 20 so I can read more of the erroneous datat, however actual data will only be 6-12 bytes. The while loop has a wait function, and no matter how much I slow down the readings I still get incorrect data (I have tried 20ms thru 1000ms).
The data I expect to receive in the read buffer from VISA Read is in the form of "0-255,0-255,0-255\n", like the following:

or
51,193,128\n
And occasionally I receive this data correctly, however I intermittently (sometimes every couple reads, sometimes a couple times in a row) get incorrect readings like this:

51,1933,191\n
51,,193,196\n
51,1933,252
51,203,116203,186\n
Where it seems like the read data is truncated, missing characters, or has additional characters. Looking at these values, however, it seems like the read was done incorrectly because the bytes seem partially correct (51 is the first number even in incorrect reads).
I have search but haven't found a similar issue and I am not sure what to try from here on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The first thing is that none of the error clusters are connected so you could be getting errors that you are not seeing. Are you sure about the comm parameters? Finally, I have never had a lot of luck looking for termination characters. You might want to just capture data and append each read into one long string just to see if you are still seeing this strangeness.
What sort of device is returning the data? How often does it spit out the data? How much distance is there between it and your computer? Can you configure it append something like a checksum or crc to the data?

FM to get Item Guids from Header Guid?

Hi Experts,
I have the order header guid. Is there any Function Module to get the corresponding item guids for that header if we just pass the header guid as input?
(Other than CRM_ORDER_READ)

Thanks for the response.But actually table read is always expensive. I want to put some checks before order save.But when I am calling CRM_ORDER_READ inside ORDER_SAVE BADI, I am getting the exception-SY_CX_NO_HANDLER.
Any idea why this exception is coming?

My problem is resolved by using COM_TA_R3_ID table.
Here R3IDENT field will give the product_id of the IBASE and R3MAT_ID will give the product id of the basic material.
By using FM CRM_IBASE_COMP_GET_DETAIL in the field obect_id we will get product id of IBASE .
Then passing that to R3IDENT field we will get basic product guid from R3MAT_ID field.
then from comm_product table we will get GUID of basic material

Dragging guides from rulers in CS6 InDesign

I am unable to get "dragging guides from rulers" when using CS6 InDesign. Is anybody else having this problem?

I tried restoring my InDesign preferences, but it still doesn't work. I used both the Ctrl+Atl+Shift method and the manual method (by replacing the files), but the draggable guides are still not showing. I have made sure to turn guides on in the settings as well. I've looked everywhere online and the only conclusion I can come up with is that it's a bug. By the way I'm using Windows 8. The strange thing is that my Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop are working fine (including guides), however InDesign has been causing problems, so there has to be something wrong with the program. But I don't know what it is

I also show that you made two purchases of CS5.5 Design Premium but the second purchase was canceled. Please make sure you are utilizing the serial number which ends in 7886.
