Focus on mouse pointer on click- WPF

hi,
I want to focus the position of the mouse pointer when the user clicks.
Exactly like the focus we get on clicking the ctrl key to locate mouse pointer after enabling it here.
Can anyone help me with this.
Thanks,

Hi TheShaleen,
>>I want to focus the position of the mouse pointer when the user clicks
It's hard to accomplish your requirement, I've tried to find API to enable this setting, but as far as I know, there is no official API to enable this programmatically.
If you just want to make this work on some control, like Canvas, you could get the coordinate of Mouse Pointer and draw shap on this Canvas, please refer to this article:

  • Bluetooth Mouse Pointer and Clicker Freezing

    Hello,
I bought a Genius Navigator Mouse model 905BT and connected to my MacAir 11.6". I noticed that my mouse pointer and clicker froze every 15 seconds. I tried this same mouse connecting to my old Macbook 13 inch (version 10.6.2) and on my Windows Laptop with no problems encountered. There were no notifications that the mouse is disconnected and reconnected. It just freezes when I am currently using it. The batteries are new.
    Regards
    Ed

    Hi,
It has been fixed when I upgraded the Mac OS to 10.6.5 which just released today.

  • [solved] DWM: Focus and mouse pointer?

Hello, I just went from openbox to dwm.
I really enjoy this so far, but there are two things that I don't like.
Lets say I have two views (1 & 2) with this kind of window layout:
    | | B |
    | A |_______|
    | | |
    | | C |
    |_______|_______|
    Steps:
    1. I'm in view 1 and my mouse is over A and it's focused
    2. I switch to view 2 (MODKEY+2) and move mouse pointer over B
    3. I switch back to view 1 (MODKEY+1) - The focus is still on A, even though my mouse pointer is over B
Is this normal? I would like to set it so that focus always follows my mouse pointer,
I would also like it so that when I move focus with MODKEY+j/k it would move my mouse pointer over that window.
Is there an option or a patch to do this?
    I'm using dwm-6.0.

I don't know about the other, sorry.
Thanks! This "wrap" patch actually showed me that my first problem wasn't really a problem for me.
Now the pointer moves always over the last focused window when I switch back to a view.
And yes it applied fine to dwm 6.0.
edit. But it kind of ruins switching views from statusbar with mouse, since the pointer always hops to the center of focused window. But I think I can live with it.

  • Mouse pointer/cursor clicking fails while screen sharing in Messages & iChat

Has anyone else had this problem?
My work partner is sharing her screen using iChat on OS 10.6.8 and I'm controlling it with Messages on OS 10.8.3 - usually working on Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Every few minutes or so, I lose the ability to click anything on her screen. Audio/video works fine, and my keyboard commands run fine on her computer, I can usually even move the pointer fine but, clicking my mouse or trackpad has no affect on her computer. This is sometimes accompanied by a flashing stalled pointer.
We can usually fix it by having her click her mouse/trackpad a couple times and then I can continue with clicking again from mine.
But, sometimes she's not at the computer so there's no way for me to recover screen share clicking when her computer is unattended.
We both have high speed internet with 10+mb down and 5+mb up speeds.
I've also tried it with bluetooth off and still have the same problem.
Does anyone know how to recover from failed mouse clicking during screen sharing?
    Thanks.

    HI,
I have not see this but at the same time I do not Screen Share as extensively as you seem to describe.
One interpretation I could out on this from what you have written is that not only is your girlfriend getting bored and wondering Off  ( ) but her computer may also be going to sleep.
I have never waited long enough for one of my other computers to go to Sleep during a Screen Share to find out what happens.
    1) does the Share Screen go dark ?
    2) do you lose the connection as it closes the network ?
    3) Is a Screen Saver starting that you can see ?
    4) what does your girlfriend see when this happens ?
I would guess there is something about the VNC part of the iChat Screen Sharing that stops the Shared computer going to sleep.
However I am not sure if a Screen Saver can be active or if you are bumping into the time set for one to start.
I would also be interested in what the other computer is doing in a "behind the scenes" way.
Is something using up the Processor cycles and holding up the Share view as it were ?
I would guess her computer is doing something on it's own such as fetching Mail or similar or even the Time Machine Back up which can be known to cause the computer to be held up for a moment or two.

  • Mouse function of trackpad on 13" macbook pro is no longer working. The trackpad is working fine as I can move the pointer around as normal, but I cannot click on anything. The mouse will physically click, but it will not register.

    Hello,
My mouse function of the trackpad is no longer registering clicks. The trackpad seems to be normal as I can scroll the arrow around as normal, but I cannot click on anything. I hooked up a logitech usb wireless mouse, and it works fine, so I am assuming it is a hardware problem. Are there any simple solutions, or will I need to replace the trackpad? Thank you very much.

Conclusion: I had an unresponsive trackpad key in addition to other strange user-interface issues. Although I did several things before solving the problem, it may well be that using the installation disk to run disk repair was the essential cure.
Detailed history: On 3/2/12 I set off for work with my Macbook Air (first generation) in closed-cover sleep mode. When I opened it and tried to select a menu item, I notice that the mouse-point draws rectangular regions on the desktop. Moreover, though I am able to open menus, I could not select menu items because the click key (on the first generation MBA's they still have trackpad keys) does not work. At this time, I recall that even attaching a mouse did not seem to work. Since I was at work I used another computer to go onto the internet print out Apple's shortcut-key dictionary (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1343) that allowed me to navigate and select things without my trackpad. Particularly helpful were the following shortcut keys:
    'Control-Function-F2' --selects the Finder menu
'Tab' --allows you to hop to the adjacent menu header
    'option-o' --opens selected items
    'option-w' --closes an open window
This mouse-less navigation was critical for being able to use the internet when I went home from the office. I then began a little online research about my problem. I found nothing that seemed to fit my particular symptom, although I did glean the usual prescriptive advice about safe-mode startup, disk repair, and resetting the PRAM (see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417).  Note that I did each of these without consulting the official procedure in the forgoing link.
Without mouse-like navigation, I was unable to run the disk repair from the disk utility because the navigation shortcut keys don't provide a way to select certain unsupported items in the application window that are critical. I did manage to run a disk repair from the command line at startup using the 'fsck -fy' technique described in the apple support doc (see above). This probably enabled a mouse to now work where it wouldn't before--though I can't be sure--for the next day, I took my laptop into the Apple service desk and the technician hooks a mouse up and to my surprise it works though the trackpad is still ineffective. I even reinstall Snow Leopard which takes several hours. None of the forgoing techniques seems to help (except, perhaps the 'fsck -fy' procedure).
So, as mentioned, I take my laptop to the Genius bar to have it looked at. Since the technician had to remove the mouse to insert his testing gear (my MBA has only one USB port) and could not select anything on the apps windows, he concludes it's a mechanical problem. This was after I suggested that he hook up some sort of USB hub to provide the two ports needed to hook up both a mouse and his test equipment--but what do I know. Unfortunately, I passively listen as he describes that the replacement cost will be $180 for a new top panel with trackpad. Or I could just buy a new mouse for $50. I almost sprung for the panel replacement, but thought I might first do a little research online or just try to get by using a mouse from now on. When I got home, I thought it might be good to now run the disk repair, now that I could use a mouse to select the critical buttons needed to initiate the repair. This apparently did some good, as I now found the trackpad more responsive, though still behaving weird. I then proceeded to update my re-installation of Snow Leopard by initiating the Software update mechanism. This required a very large package for my slow DSL internet connection to handle, so I left my computer on overnight to complete this download. Upon startup, the trackpad key was able to select menu items, however when I selected a file, the file icon would stick to the pointer icon. Not good. What else could I do? I decided to run the disk utility one more time. When I did, some serious errors were spotted and I was told to restart the computer using the original installation disk and choose the disk repair utility from the startup disk. The repairs took place and it showed that the repair was successful. When I rebooted from the hard-drive the trackpad key works perfectly! In hindsight, although I did several things before solving the problem, it may well be that using the installation disk to run disk repair was the essential cure. I will certainly do that first next time I find the trackpad key unresponsive.

    Hi,
Try this ... reboot your Mac and see if double clicking works again.
Also, you can just select the Application you like to open and hold down the Command+O to open.
Also, did you check your setting for the mouse in system preferences.

If the mouse clicks something on its own then it looks like you have a hardware problem with the trackpad or possibly the battery that is right underneath the trackpad.
I have read that the battery can swell and that would put pressure on the trackpad.

  • Tap clicking touchpad causes mouse pointer to move (ALPS)

Usually when tap clicking on a touchpad, any pointer movements are suppressed as a tap is detected. This does not happen on my Arch machine. Whenever I tap click, the mouse pointer jumps several pixels in some direction.
    How can I stop this?
(Arch is fully updated and since kernel 3.3 my touchpad is detected as "AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint TouchPad".)

    Question
After a few minutes, the page down won't work without clicking the mouse pointer on the page I am reading to activate page down again. Is there a way to go back to page down working every time without having to click the page first?

Today, two other users reported issues with the back-forward history list dropping down if they hovered the mouse pointer over the back or forward button -- without clicking -- and then moved the pointer downwards. One user was on a touchpad, I don't know about the other user. Are you experiencing anything like that?

  • Disable window focus follows mouse without click

I've noticed that I can scroll a window without clicking on it by moving the mouse cursor over that window.  For example, this Safari window has focus, and I'm typing in it, but if I move the cursor to another application (Terminal or another application), I can scroll that other window without having to click on it.  This gets me into trouble, because I can scroll around the other window then start typing, thinking that I'm in that other window because I'm actively doing something to it (scrolling), but the text goes to the window which really has the focus.  For example, Mail has focus, then I scroll around a Terminal looking for something, and I type the delete key forgetting that I'm in Mail.  This has an advantage in that one can scroll a window that is not on top, but there are drawbacks.
Is there a way to require the click in a window in order to scroll in that window?
    Thanks,
    ==Leonard

Cool! Thanks for Window Wrangler! That's a pretty neat program. Not what I was looking for exactly, but it'll do just fine.
I now see what you were trying to show me with the zoom. That's not what I'm looking for.
What I'm looking for is focus follows mouse. What it does is as you put a mouse over a window, that window gets focus. But does not raise to the top.
So say I have a web browser open, and my IM client open. I'll leave the client at the bottom of the screen and have the browser sized up just enough to see the text field and the first two lines of conversation of the chat.
Now, on my linux system to reply all I have to do is put the curser over the IM window and I can type into it without having to click on it and bring it to the top.
For that example, it isn't a huge deal. But when you have 5 or 6 windows open all organized with each on the right level, bringing one to the top will screw it up.
I'm liable to have a few terminal windows, IM, email, IM, some programming ide, etc open at once. It's especially useful for web development. I can have the source file open and edit it, but not bring it over the browser window so I can have an idea of what I'm doing with the source.

this should not be happening, maybe one of your addons is interfering?! - can you try running firefox in safemode or with all extensions disabled for a while and see if this behaviour is still there...

  • Mouse Pointer shows "Edit Cursor" "|" where it should be a arrow (pointer)

I have noticed that at times the mouse pointer shows a Edit cursor when it should be
    a standard mouse arrow.
This happens when a leave one application and navigate to another application.
I am able to use the "|" cursor to click, but it seems rather odd.
I would really like to know if someone else has noticed this?

Are you using Fast User Switching (FUS)? Are you running an application that keeps a window always on top?
I have encountered a reproducible problem which causes the mouse pointer to fail to revert to the default arrow. I do not know if it is a general OS X issue, or caused by this specific app only (I just reported the problem to the app vendor, will report back on the resolution).
In my case, if user "A" is running a program that has an "always on top" window, and that application has the "focus", and I then use FUS to switch to any other user, the mouse pointer for that user will "stick" in its most recent variation - be it a pointing finger (for a link), an edit cursor, a window resize cursor, etc. If you move from a link for example to a text box, the cursor will change to the new form, but it will not revert to the default arrow. To "solve" the problem, do this:
before using FUS to change to another user, click on another application (e.g. the Finder), so that the problem application does not have the "focus". Does any of this relate to your problem?

  • Adjust the 'aim' of the mouse pointer

    Hello,
Back in the days of Tiger I used a little haxie called Might Mouse from Unsanity. This allowed me to tweak the click point of the mouse cursor. By default the click point of the mac's cursor is a few pixels within the cursor image itself.
Call me crazy, but I feel the 'aim' of the mouse cursor should be the very tip of the mouse. If you're unsure of what I'm talking about, click and drag on an empty space on the desktop. You should be creating a selection square. If you're dragging down and to the right, the bottom right corner of the square will line up with upper left of the mouse cursor. Now notice where the selection box meets the mouse. It's not exactly at the tip of the mouse, but a few pixels behind the tip.
When you magnify the mouse cursor, this issue is magnified as well. With the upgrade to leopard most Unsanity apps are broken... And for all intents and purposes dead.
Does anyone know of an app that lets you adjust the click point or 'aim' of the mouse pointer? I thought I'd eventually just get used to it, buts it's driving me crazy!
    Thanks.

Pinpoint- Used to create animations around the mouse, and maybe custom cursors. But I'm ignorant of how to use quartz composer to make my own cursor to use in the app.
MoundoMouse- Used to resize and move windows with mouse movements (w/o actually clicking the window) ...Might keep this one for the ‘window focus follows mouse’, reminded me of the old UNIX box I worked on for a few years. The mouse focus can be very handy.
SteerMouse- Used to add more control to unsupported mouses and extra control over tracking/acceleration and cursor snapping to buttons. ...Might keep this one. Hopefully I can turn down the horizontal scrolling speed of the scrollball... always seems way to fast. Not sure as it needs a restart, and I'm converting vids...
*...Sadly, none of these seem to have the feature I was talking about. Please let me know if I missed something.*
However, thank you for your response!

  • Focus follows mouse, etc

So many years ago I was a mac user. And many years ago this forum looked different...
But I have since switched to linux. Which I like because I can program it however I want.
BUT now I have a mac again. My macbook with intel ran linux, but it died. So now I have a powerbook. Since PPC linux ***** I'm running 10.5 on it.
I actually really like this system. It's pretty straight forward and easy to use, just a few things I want for it that I can't find.
One big major thing that's really holding me back with the system is there's no focus follows mouse. Especially with the small screen it's something I really need to use the computer. And no auto-raise please. That completely ruins the point of focus follows mouse.
I do have it working in terminal via playing with some plist files. And that's mostly where I use it. But I use it enough on the rest of the system that it's something I really want.
Also, I'd really like to be able to hold down a modifier key, and click anywhere in a window to be able to move it. Something else I've become really accgstomed to in my GUI that I'd like to have on this little machine.
    Thanks for any help.
