Focus should remain at the command link

I have Command links and I want to do everythibg(moving from one link to other and want to perform operation) using "tab" key instead of selecting it through mouse.
when ever user selects the command link,one popup will be displayed
,under the popup,a dialog window of type "ok Cancel" was taken,in the dialog window one input text was taken.
The Problem is without entering the text in the input text and clicking on ok button using tab,remains the focus of the cursor on the command link and
also while clicking on the cancel button the cursor position remains at the command link only but
when ever user enters the text in the input text and
selects the ok button using tab,the cursor focus is moving to top of the page,not remains at the command link.This problem is not taking place while
using mouse.
Can anyone please tell me how to the remain the focus at the command link.
I am using jdev 11.1.2.3

Okay, that makes sense. However, I modified my code to actually move the lead, and it still didn't work. Curious, I added a pop up window to the code, and I found out that it doesn't get called. The tab key still doesn't do anything. I miss KeyListeners already :(
Can you spot anything wrong with how I'm doing this?
InputMap im = _table.getInputMap(JComponent.WHEN_ANCESTOR_OF_FOCUSED_COMPONENT);
KeyStroke tabKey = KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_TAB, 0);
Action tabAction = new AbstractAction(){
               public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e){
                    int leadColumn = _table.getColumnModel().getSelectionModel().getLeadSelectionIndex();
                    leadColumn ++;
                    if(leadColumn > 4){
                         leadColumn = 4;;
                    _table.getColumnModel().getSelectionModel().setLeadSelectionIndex(leadColumn);
                    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "L: " + leadColumn);  //this doesn't happen either
im.put(tabKey, tabAction);

    Hi,
    I am using JTable with single row and few columns. When I navigate (tab) from last column it returns to the first column but my requirement is it should remain in the last column itself.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Delaying the command link action till user presses Yes/No in dialog

    Hi ,
    On a command link in an af:table i am trying to display and Yes/No Dialog box. On clicking the link, the action binded with the link gets executed first and then the dialog gets initialized. Can we some how deffer the link execution till the user presses Yes/NO?

    This should be possible, if you remove the action from the af:commandLink and execute the action in the dialoglistener

                ccontext.getCurrentViewPort().setViewId(viewId);

  • I want to run the h:outputText in a loop and with command link

    I have a managed bean property of type Collection (ArrayList). These collection elements should be displayed a series of hyperlinks separated by commas.
    can i refer the collection element with an index from h:outputText tag

    Can I achive this by using JSTL core tags and outputText. Like using c:foreach and then render the command link.
    how can we render outputText with value as a collection.
    Thanks.

  • Command Link in the af:table Component can not Work in the Request Scope

    Actually, the problem is that when we click on the command link, the action method #{overview.goToLinkAction} is not triggered.
    Here is the codes of action method "goToLinkAction" on the backing bean:
    public String goToLinkAction() {
    String linkString = (String) AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance()
    .getProcessScope().get("linkString");
    System.out.println("Link String is: " + linkString);
    return "";
    The data object list "listOfTransefer" for af:table is composed first time when the page is initialized.
    public void onPageLoad() {
    this.listOfTransfers = composeListOfTransfers();
    But when the commandlink or commandbutton is clicked to pose the form, this onPageLoad method is ignored by using PagePhaseListener:
    public void beforePhase(PagePhaseEvent event) {
    FacesPageLifecycleContext ctx =
    (FacesPageLifecycleContext)event.getLifecycleContext();
    if (event.getPhaseId() == Lifecycle.PREPARE_MODEL_ID && needReload()) {
    bc = ctx.getBindingContainer();
    onPageLoad();
    bc = null;
    public final boolean needReload() {
    if (!isPostback())
    return Boolean.TRUE;
    else
    return alwaysReload();
    protected boolean isPostback() {
    return Boolean.TRUE.equals(resolveExpression("#{adfFacesContext.postback}"));
    That means the method "onPageLoad()" may not be invoked when the commandlink is clicked.
    Is there any way to resolve this problem without changing the scope of the backing bean to "session"?
    Your response will be very helpful for us.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    if you implicitly say that this works if the managed bean is in session scope then the problems seems to me that one of your evaluation criterias is reset in the request scope, which I think most likely is the needReload() method. Did you add debug statements to the methods to see where exactly it gets stuck?

  • Resetting the id of dynamically generated JSF custom command link

    I have a java faces page which displays data from an arraylist.
    This list is populated when user inputs data in the input text field and clicks "Add Group" button.
    The arralylist consist of another arraylist within the former.
    I have created a custom command link for the former arraylist.
    As an user can add data to the arraylist so can he remove it from the arraylist.
    The command link has a method binding "closeTask" which is invoked when command link is clicked.
    This action removes the clicked element from the arraylist and displays the fresh list.
    The key field from the bean in the former arraylist is set in request, and is retrieved in the "closeTask" method to be assigned to the command link output text id (i.e. it identifies the element that is to be deleted from the arraylist).
    This functionality does not work as expected, i.e. command link component is not created/rendered during deletion as it is created while addition.
    As a result eventhough the element is removed from the arraylist, the id corresponding to the fresh arraylist is not refreshed and for further actions correct id is not passed and the deletion function does not work.
    How can I have resolve this problem?
    The sample code is included.

  • Issue with command link in chrome/mozilla

    Hi All,
    I have designed a simple jspx page having a command link component.
    This command link component is tied up with two sets of operations associated with it -
    > Displays a note window using hover action.
    > Launched a popup on clicking the link components.
    While performing some test runs on different browsers, I noticed different behavioural pattern -
    > Internet Explorer - Placing the cursor on link displays the note window and the command link remains enabled for the user to click on it and launch the popup.
    > Mozilla/Chrome - Placing the cursor on the link displays the note window, however, on the clicking the link, the popup doesn't launch. The user has to move and place the cursor again on the link to perform the desired event.
    Request your guidance on troubleshooting the problem.
    I am using JDeveloper version 11.1.1.7.
    Best Regards,
    Ankit Gupta

    Hi,
    hard to say. Looks as if the browser blocks the command link when the note window launches as modal dialogs would do.  There are two reasons for this IMO
    1. The hover code also executes when you want to click the link, which means that you don#t get to executing your action. Work around is to detect whether the note window is open and if don't try and re-launch the note window
    2. If you use showPopupBehavior to launch the note window, then this actually kills all action listener methods (which then may be a second reason). So my suggestion is to try and launch the hover popup from JavaScript using an af:clientListener
       Sample code: Sameh Nassar: JavaScript With ADF Faces Samples
        the client listener should listen for the mouse over event.
    If none of this help and you have access to customer support, I suggest to create a test case and file a service request. My current guess though is that the reason for the behavior is in in your code (browsers tend to work differently in the way they execute JS events too).

    Hi,
    the real problem of the original poster seems to be <af:commandLink text="#{row.GlobalDealId}" id="cl1" action="createMDM" immediate="true" partialSubmit="true"> having immediate set to true in which case the request goes from restore view to render response. You usually use immediate=true on a command item to cancel an action (bypassing all the other JSF lifecycle steps).
    Peter551059,
    you don't give us much information about your case. So if the problem is IE9 and you verified IE9 is supported for the version of JDeveloper you use, then - in case you have a support contract - my best advise is to file a service request and have support looking at it just in case you hit a defect that should be filed as a bug

  • Command Link as a row of a datatable in JSF

    Hi All,
    I am new to JSF. I have a Datatable with n number of rows.
    I would like to have a command Link in each of the rows, so that when i click the command link i should get the data of the entire row in my edit page.
    Can anyone suggest how can i achieve this.
    Regards
    SN

    Hi,
    Do following:
    1- add a datatable in your page and fill it with data comes from database(Assume u have no problem with datatable)
    2- add a column as commandLink in data table. e.g.
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="name" />
    </f:facet>
    <t:commandLink action="editObject" immediate="true" >
    <h:outputText value="#{theobject.name}" />
    <t:updateActionListener property="#{objectForm.id}" value="#{objectDto.id}" />
    </t:commandLink>
    </h:column>
    in this code:
    "name" is header of column,
    "editObject" is defined in navigation rule to navigate to edit page, lets say object form.
    "theobject.name" the value that mouse gets finger over it!
    "objectForm.id" the pointer to an "id setter" of a managed bean (named objectForm) defined in faces-config.xml. In this setter you can load corresponding data from database
    "objectDto.id" the pointer to an "id getter" of a managed bean (named objectDto) defined in faces-config.xml. this getter return the id of the entity row you clicked on.
    3- Clearly, you need to defined all managed beans, and dont forget to have a customized setter for id of objectForm (setId) to load the entity from database and fill all editable properties(as you like) in this function (setId).
    4- you need a JSF page to redirect to it for editing properties and feed by objectForm
    5- Thats it :)

  • Command link / button action is not taking place if i use it in iterator.

    Hi,
    I am new to ADF, i am facing 1 issue while implementing ADF mobile browser application.
    Issue: command link / button action is not taking place if i use it in iterator. its just refreshing the page it self and displaying as no records.
    Scenario is i am populating the search results in results page from search page using iterator, i want to get the complete details in different page (results page -> details page) .
    I have tried in different ways.like
    case1:
    <tr:panelGroupLayout id="pgl2" layout="vertical" styleClass="af_m_panelBase">
    <tr:panelHeader text="#{classviewBundle.SEARCH_RESULTS}" id="ph1"/>
    <tr:iterator id="i1" value="#{bindings.SubjectVO1.collectionModel}" var="subject"
    varStatus="subIndx" rows="100">
    <tr:panelBox text="#{subject.Subject} #{subject.CatalogNbr} - #{subject.CourseTitleLong}"
    styleClass="af_m_listingPrimaryDetails" id="pb1">
    <f:facet name="toolbar"/>
    <tr:table var="ssrClass" rowBandingInterval="1" id="t1" value="#{subject.children}"
    varStatus="clsIndx" rowSelection="none"
    binding="#{SessionBean.subjectTable}" verticalGridVisible="true"
    emptyText="No Records" width="100%">
    <tr:column id="c9" sortable="false" styleClass="width:100%">
    <*tr:commandLink text="Section: #{ssrClass.ClassSection}-#{ssrClass.SsrComponentLovDescr} (#{ssrClass.ClassNbr})"*
    id="commandLink2" styleClass="af_m_listingLink"
    *action="#{pageFlowScope.BackingBean.searchaction}"></tr:commandLink>*
    //remaining code
    in this case commandlink action is not able to invoke serachaction() method
    case 2:
    <tr:commandLink text="Section: #{ssrClass.ClassSection}-#{ssrClass.SsrComponentLovDescr} (#{ssrClass.ClassNbr})"
    id="commandLink2" styleClass="af_m_listingLink"
    action="classdetails}"></tr:commandLink>
    in this case its not able to navigate to classdetails page.
    I gave correct navigation cases and rules in taskflow,but its working fine when the command link is out of iterator only.
    i tried with actionlistener too.. but no use.. please help me out of this problem .
    *Update to issue:*
    The actual issue is when i use command link/button in an table/iterator whose parent tag is another iterator then the action is not taking place.
    the structer of my code is
    < iterator1>
    #command link action1
    < iterator2>
    #command link action2
    </ iterator2>
    < /iterator1>
    #command link action1 is working but "#command link action2" is not...
    Thanks

    Hi,
    To solve my problem I used a af:foreach instead.
    <af:forEach items="#{viewScope.DataBySubjectServiceBean.toArray}" var="text">
    <af:commandLink text="#{text.IndTextEn}" action="indicator-selected" id="cl1">
    <af:setActionListener from="#{text.IndCode}" to="#{pageFlowScope.IndicatorCodeParam}" />
    </af:commandLink>
    </af:forEach>
    By the way you need to convert the iterator to an Array using a ManagedBean.
    public Object[] toArray() {
    CollectionModel cm = (CollectionModel) getEL("#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel}");
    indicators = new Object[cm.getRowCount()];
    for(int i=0;i<cm.getRowCount();i++){
    indicators[i] = cm.getRowData(i);
    return indicators;
    public static Object getEL(String expr) {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    return fc.getApplication().evaluateExpressionGet(fc,expr,Object.class);
    Hope that helps-

  • ADF command link problem

    Hi All,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g. I have a master-detail relationship tables Order and OrderItem. I have an Order edit page which has editable Order information and a ADF read-only table which contains a list of items associated with the current order. I have a ADF command link on the column LineItemId in the table. When I click the link, it will take me to the item edit page. The problem is, whenever I select any item in the table, I always got the first item loaded in the item edit page. Does anyone has any ideas what I did wrong?
    Here is the portion of the code related to the command link,

    Hi Gurus,
    On a seeded page say Page1 one link is availabe which is specific to one Learning Path.
    When i click on that Learning Path's link it is redirecting me to a page say Page2 where it gives the list of different Learning Paths (including Learning Path of Page1) with a link for each Learning Path.
    If i click on that Learning Path's link it takes me to a page say Page3 where it gives the details of that perticular Learning Path.
    The requirement is , If I click on an Learning Path's link on Page1 ,it should redirect me directly to Page3 ( Skipping Page2 ).
    How can it be achieved?
    Please help!!!

  • Command links in h:datatable not working

    I have some command links in h:datatable which are not working. When I click the command link all I get is a referesh page(same page is displayed with datatable values as null). But when I put command link outside h:datatable, the navigation takes place properly. Any idea what could be worng

    You can try using t:dataTable from tomahawk.jar, instead of the h:dataTable. Make the following changes in your code.
    1. Add the taglib uri in your JSP as,
    <%@ taglib uri = "http://myfaces.apache.org/tomahawk" prefix="t" %>
    2. Add the tomahawk-1.1.3.jar to your WEB-INF/lib folder.
    3. Instead of using h:dataTable, use t:dataTable.
    4. After the form save your bean's state as,
    </h:form>
    <t:saveState id="viewForm" value="#{stateBean}"/>
    Here, id can be any name and the value should be the name of your bean, how u have used in your JSP.
    I hope this will help you.

    Yeah... adding an output text, shows the context menu on the text, however I was looking for something like one 'text' rendered and it doing the option of both.
    Something like what we can do for any hyper link, if click on it, it opens that link or else if I right click on the link, it gives me options like - Open in new Tab/Window etc.
    Any suggestions??
    Thanks
    Sachin

       When I click on the command link in the <af:table> : it should redirect to a new page displaying its equivalent details .
       Issue facing currently :
    When clicked on Command link setting immediate = true  --> not redirecting to the new page and also at the same time page is getting validated the panelform layout for required="true"
    What is going wrong with the above code

    Thanks

    Do you have page navigation set in the task flow or you are trying something programmatically ?

  • Styling command link inside a panel List

    Hi All,
    I have the following layout:
    PanelBox
    --panelList
    -- CommandLink
    I would like to style the command link under the panel List component. I have tried skinning the command Link component individually as well as applying styling to panel List component. Both didn't work( I haven't debugged this yet with firebug). From the skinning document, it has been mentioned that Style the root component of the command Link/Panel List. In this case, how do we style the command Link component. Basically, i would like to apply style for Link active, hover and focus.
    Thanks,
    Bala

    As far as I am aware, you would need to skin the specific component irrespective of the parent componet/root.
    For your usecase, you take look at the skinning demo application for the various skinning selectors for the command link at
    http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/skinningKeys/commandLink.jspx
