Font error with inputsource 2-set Korean
When I type Korean font in certain 3rd party application such as Scrivener, font scatters and it doesn't build up correctly.
As you might be aware, a letter of korean word is consist of vowels and consonants in one buid up
For example, "king" is 킹 in Korean.
k = ㅋ
i = l
ng = ㅇ
ㅋ stands for k
ㅣ stands for i
o stands for ng
but korean lettter does not written horizonally like " ㅋㅣㅇ " . It written 킹 . the ng(ㅇ) lays vertically under 키
it is because that the korean letter is modularized with each syllabel and meanings.
When I type in Scrivener, the writting tool for writers, the letters I type would scatter and breaks away.
I have asked about that app's support team. They said it is because that the Apple text system only supports Eastern scripts for certain fonts.
Meantime, the scrivener support team told me the workacround to use font "AppleGothic" which supports Eastern scripts.
But when I tried with AppleGothic, the error occurs the same. see following screenshot.
Where fundamental reason do you think at?
Is it because from OS X embedded code? or the Application's code?
Similar case happened at Note input area in Omnigraffle app; the fonts flickers and don't move ahad. (try this in korean if you're a Omnigraffle user)
When I ask the Omnigraffle support team. they said "Copy and paste the text from another source" ....huh!
Where fundamental reason do you think at?
Is it because from OS X embedded code? or the Application's code?
I really like to know
The standard Lion fonts for Korean are Nanum, AppleMyungjo, and AppleGothic. Do they all show this problem in Scrivener?
As a general rule, when something like this works just fine in all Apple apps but not in some 3rd party apps, it is really up to the people who make the 3rd party app to fix whatever the problem is.

Distiller "can't find font" error with MS-Gothic and ArialUnicodeMS
Hi. I'm tried to verify that Distiller (both 9 and XI) and PDF Generator (11.0 SP1) are able to generate PDFs from Postscript files using a variety of fonts. Almost every font that I tried works perfectly fine, but MS-Gothic and ArialUnicodeMS both fail with "can't find font" errors. I've verified font configurations in both Distiller and PDF Generator, and lots of other fonts work fine. I've also verified that the two fonts are installed, enabled, and can be used in other applications (e.g., MS Word). In fact, I can generate PDFs from MS Word documents on the same server that use both of those fonts. I suspect the errors are misleading in that those apps can find the fonts, but are unable to open or use them for some reason. I've been able to replicate this behavior both on Windows Server and Mac OS X.
Has anyone seen behavior like this? Any suggestions on how to get more information out of these Adobe apps to get a better idea what the real error is?
JJRAddirional note: This is a java class within a JavaFX application if that is relevant.
It does seem to be relevant - if I create the same class as part of a Java application rether than a JavaFX application it compiles without error. Is the imported java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment different in the tow cases??

Error with DG4ODBC while setting up connectivity from oracle to IBM iSeries AS400 version V7R1
Hi,
I have Enterprise linux 64-bit hosting Oracle 11gR2 64-bit (11.2.0.1) database. I have access to IBM iSeries AS400 version V7R1. I am trying to connect to IBM iSeries from Oracle Database through ODBC connectivity using Database Link. The following is what I have done.
On the Database (Linux) host Installed iSeriesAccess-7.1.0-1.0.x86_64.rpm provided by IBM.
my odbcinst.ini has the following entries:

I have looked up the errors on Oracle forums and could not get any valuable help anywhere.
Can someone kindly help out where I am going wrong?
Thanks,
Ram.Hello kgronau,
Thank You very much for your recommendations. I removed the parameter HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = 255.
I added HS_FDS_FETCH_ROWS=1 and also HS_NLS_NCHAR = UCS2
Tested my sql statement, which yielded the result as follows:
SQL> select * from mdiaz.AREMAIL@samplink;
select * from mdiaz.AREMAIL@samplink
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
㈵″㠵6
SO I thought I would give a try of removing the line HS_NLS_NCHAR = UCS2
and again tested my sql statement and it worked like a charm!!!!
I tested a count(*) and got the results back.
SQL> select count(*) from mdiaz.AREMAIL@samplink;
COUNT(*)
600
I really appreciate your valuable pointers and help.
Thanks once again!!!

Fnd_request.submit_request error with PA_SRS_DATES2 value set
Hi,
We are applications 12.0.6 with 10.2.0.3.0 database. I'm trying to submit the "PRC: Generate Draft Revenue for a Single Project" through fnd_request.submit_request and is erroring out with "PA: Error - Entered Accrue through date is not within open/future PA period". I'm able to run the same program from the application with the same parameters. I'm passing Accue date of 2009/08/31 00:00:00 from the program and I can see the same value when submitted frm the applications also.
Value set for this Accrue date parameter is "PA_SRS_DATES2". It is setup as format type "Standard Date" and maximum size is 11.
Thanks for your help,
Shree.

Dimension Selector Error with Dimensional Security Set
I have the following dimensional security applied:
INDEX USER
CASE SOLFAE
SELECT Solution Below 'SOL-_FINANCE_&_ACCOUNTING_EXCELLENC'
SELECT Geography
SELECT Industry
SELECT Resource_Job_Function
SELECT Resource_Proficiency
SELECT Resource_Solution 'RS-_FINANCE_&_ACCOUNTING_EXCELLENC'
SELECT Resource_Solution Plus 'RS-_FINANCE_&_ACCOUNTING_EXCEL_PIM'
ENDINDEX
When I use the dimensional selector in the IP user interface (connecting to PAS with SOLFAE user id), I get the following error:
CAL062:
R is Not a Member of RESOURCE_SOLUTION
CAL062:
INTERNALAUDIT is Not a Member of RESOURCE_SOLUTION
However, when I remove the dimensional security on the RESOURCE_SOLUTION dimension, the dimension selector works fine. Does anyone out there have any insight into what may be causing this error. We are running SSM 7.0 SP7.
Thanks ahead of time for your help!
Edited by: Jason Allen on Oct 29, 2010 10:12 PMI think that it may be the "&" in the dimension member names. I'll test on Monday, and repost. In the meantime, if anyone has additional insight, please reply to this post.

Internet Explorer returns "Page not found error" with new laptop set up
I have a recently acquired Dell Latitude D600 with TrueMobile 1300 Wireless adapter running XP Pro Service Pack 2 and a BEFW11S4 Version 3 Wireless router. I can get the router and laptop to communicate to the point of retrieving an IP address and show that there is Excellent Signal. How ever when I launch IE i get the Page Not Found screen. Once or twice i've been able to connect to the Google Home Page, but it seems random.
I have used the ping command in a DOS window to ping yahoo.com and google.com. Most of the time I get a 50% or less successful ping. I have directly connected the laptop to the router and it works without problem and I have another computer running Home XP via a WPC11 adapter that I have been using for many years.
Anyone have any experience with this symptom or problem?hi , here is what u do , hardwire the PC to the router first....access the router using http://192.168.1.1 "admin" is the default passowrd.....go to the wireless section and ensure u have selected channel 11....save settings....then go to the advanced wireless settings and reduce the RTS and fragmentation threshold by 40 each....save settings....

Hi,
We are applications 12.0.6 with 10.2.0.3.0 database.

Missing fonts error even though fonts installed
Hi,
At work we use Gill Sans as our corporate font. These fonts have been installed in Windows (and I can see them in Control Panel > Fonts). Yet, when I open a file with these fonts I get a Missing Fonts error with Gill Sans font missing. My colleagues don't get this error, and I have checked that the same fonts are installed on their machines. Can anyone help me?Hi,
- Is your font appearing in the 'Find Font' dropdown list?
- Is the document you're trying to open one you created yourself or is this coming from some other office?
(If so I'd advise to get a packaged document so you can use the exact fonts initially used and see if that makes a difference)
- What version of InDesign are you running and what version was the publication created in?
It could be that your font is not the exact same one that was used to create the document. -
Error with font as shown in the image below.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j432/Lazmarr/Firefoxfontweird2.pngHello,
Firefox on Windows is now following display scaling options which may render text larger on high resolution displays.
You can adjust your screen resolution.
To modify it do the following:
* Type '''about:config''' into the Firefox address bar and tap on the Enter key.
* If the warning '''This might void your warranty''' appears, click '''I'll be careful, I promise'''.
* Search for '''layout.css.devPixelsPerPx'''
* Double-click on layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to modify its value. The default is -1.0 in Firefox 22 and above. Change it to '''1.0''' to make it work like in previous Firefox versions.
If necessary, further adjust the value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps. Use values between 1.0 and about 0.5 to reduce elements in size. Use values greater than 1.0 to increase size. For example, a value of 1.25 will increase font size to 125% to accommodate the default DPI setting in Windows 8. '''Double check the value that you enter.''' Setting a too small value will make everything disappear and a too large value will blow things up.
If web pages still need to be adjusted then you can look at the [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/ Default FullZoom Level] or [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/ NoSquint] extension.
To adjust the font size for the user interface, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer/ Theme Font & Size Changer] extension.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you. -

Error: Object variable or with variable not set while accessing BPC Excel
Hi,

Regards,
Priyanka SinghHi Renne,
Could you share me the solution to resolve the issue?
I am getting an error "object variable or with block variable not set" while trying to submit data through an Input schedule.
I am working on SAP BPC 7.0 NW and using MS Excel 2003.
I can log in to BPC Admin and excel with my user id and password.
Only when i am trying to click esubmit --> send and refresh schedules i am getting this error.
I checked my security profile and i have the submit data task in my task profile.
Following couple existing SDN postings i tried to check the ADD-INs of the excel on my system. However it looks like the steps listed in the existing SDN posts are for MS EXCEL 2007.
Please suggest me how do i resolve this issue. Please note I am working on SAP BPC 7.0 NW and using MS Excel 2003.

Thank you in AdvanceHi Kumar,
I doubt if you are following the below steps. Please confirm. Thanks
1. Open your normal Excel.
2. Check for Planning and Consolidation tab on the top ribbon.
3. I assume this wouldn't be available for you.
4. If this is not present, open the Excel Options
5. Click on Add-Ins and check the Active Application Add-ins
6. Is Planning and consolidation present in it?
7. If not, select "Disabled Add-ins" in the drop down below besides "Manage".
8. Click "GO"
9. Select the Planning and Consolidation add-in from disabled add-ins and "Enable" it.
10. Check once again if this add-in is prersent in "Active" add-ins .
11. Now close and re-open excel
12. The Tab should be present now (Planning and Consolidation)

Error Code 88 with Pixma Pro9500 even with art margins set correctly
I'm getting error code 88 (from the Canon Pro9500 series print monitor window) when attempting to print on an A3Plus art paper (Hahnemuehle William Turner), even though I have the paper size set correctly (in the Photoshop Print Dialog, Print Settings) to "Art A3+ (Margin 35)".
(Furthermore – though most of the following options probably have nothing to do with the problem, and are probably the correct or allowable settings anyway – I'm using Canon Color Matching; Media Type: "Fine Art Museum Etching"; Paper Source: Front Tray; Print Quality: High; and am printing in color, not grayscale. Color Options are all left set at zero.)
I’m printing from Photoshop CS5 Extended, Version 12.0 x64, using an iMac with MacOSX10.6.8. The Canon Printer Driver is “Pro9500 Driver – CUPS Version 10.51.2.0”, recently installed (or re-installed) just the other day when I was trying to deal with this problem (I didn’t check the CUPS version before reinstalling the driver, so I don’t know if this could be relevant).
(I also attempted to print by setting, in Paper Handling, "Scale to fit paper size", with Destination Paper Size set also to the suggested Art A3+ (Margin 35), although I never had to do this in the past, and so I don't suppose it matters. Still, this did not help.)
I had the same problem attempting to print on an A4 art paper, as one is supposed to do, using front loading and the paper size set to Art A4 (Margin 35), with Media Type set to "Fine Art Premium Matte" (it was a matte art paper). No go; I got error 88. I was able to print on the same sheet by setting "Matte Photo Paper" (while still using Front Loading), but this is not the media type one should use for such a paper.
In the past few years I have printed 8-bit files, in both AdobeRGB and sRGB, on A4 and A3Plus art papers, in both color and grayscale, always using the art margin settings, without any such difficulties. Typically I use Color Management by Printer, or “Canon Color Matching” (though I experimented with the use of dedicated paper profiles and Color Management by Photoshop). Lately I’m trying to print 16-bit files, generally Photoshop PSD or TIFF, with a document profiles of sRGB, AdobeRGB, or ProPhotoRGB. Of course I tried several times to print from an 8-bit file, and once using Color Management by Photoshop, but got error 88 just the same.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?I'm getting error code 88 (from the Canon Pro9500 series print monitor window) when attempting to print on an A3Plus art paper (Hahnemuehle William Turner), even though I have the paper size set correctly (in the Photoshop Print Dialog, Print Settings) to "Art A3+ (Margin 35)".

Font error in file with no fonts
Here is an oddity... running PS CC 20140730.r.148 on an iMac running OS X 10.9.4. Fonts are being managed by Suitcase Fusion 5.
As stated in the subject, I am getting a font error in a file where there are no fonts, let alone any layers other than the background.
Here is a screenshot of the offending file and the layers palette to show the supposed lack of fonts.
This has happened on a couple of images now. Any thoughts?Hi,
the report generates following output:

I also tried to specify the conditions with service, interface and namespace, but this is only possible if i switch bound to message to yes...
but the error occurs in file adapter... there is no message generated... -

There was a bug in earlier releases for deleting dimensions with children, making the children orphans.
Heard from release notes that it has been fixed, but we are seeing this issue in 11.1.2.1 again.
Please help us out in resolving this error.Hi,
I always ask this first, have you installed all the planning and epma patches as there have been many issues addressed in 9.3.1
Cheers
John
