Fonts in mail - It always uses the same one, not the one i have chosen.

In preferences, my 'message font' is set to 'Courier New 12' as is my signature font.
Sure, my emails are courier new when I write them, but when I send them, they revert back to whatever the default for the mail client receiving it is. Occasionally, I will find that the signature sent in courier new, but never the body of the email.
I want my emails to look the way that they do on mail when other people open them, Outlook on windows never had this problem. Emails are being sent as rich text, so why is it not sending the font?
My signature looks stupid in any other font that courier new because of the width of the '-' in this font is wider than any other, so I have just the right amount of them to make the length of the text. If this does not make any sense, let me give you an example...

The length of the line of '-' s is right in this font, but if you change the font, the width of each '-' reduces and so it looks stupid.
What I basically want to know is how I can send messages using my mailbox font as currently it does not send using any specified font.

Update...
Mail is not sending the font for the body, it appears to be sending the signature font though as i have unchecked the 'use message font' box.
If i change the font manually in the message, it still does not send it in the selected font... however if i write the message in a font in pages and copy and paste it in, it works perfectly. So it is mail that is not sending the correct font info.
Any ideas on this?

Thank you for your reply Don, but I had already gone through that procedure and it will only create new mailboxes for received mail. I want to create new mailboxes for sent mail, i.e. the first column being "to" not "from". Under the Mailbox menus there is an option "Use This Mailbox For" but all the options under that (including Sent) are greyed out. Unfortunately the View/Columns option to change from "From" to "To" changes all mailboxes not just the active one.

I say this because I thought it was a Windows 8 issue, but having the same problems on the Windows 7 machine. We are all having problems opening pdf's sent to us from other firms. This has increased in frequency over the past two months. We've checked with the various firms, and their other clients are not having problems. Some pdfs open but with a lot of missing content and strange formatting, others won't open at all. There are different error messaged depending upon the doc. Some are regarding the fonts, for example "can't extract the embedded font...." Others are "insufficient data" errors. There are more, but for purposes of keeping this short, I won't include them. Another unrelated issue is that we are having trouble printing excel files to pdf. The files end up with bad formatting. I've worked with adobe "chat" support, our IT consultants with no resolution. I also haven't found any similar "known issue" online Would very much appreciate any assistance. Thank you

The font embedding can be a problem if not done and you are trying to view the PDF and do not have the font on your machine. Acrobat will often try to find a replacement, but it is not always a good choice. Sometimes the "Use Local Fonts" button can be changed in state to resolve some of the viewing issues.
If you are trying to copy or export info, then it is important that you have the fonts on your system. Otherwise, the message you are getting about embedded fonts would not be showing up.
As for Excel formatting, be sure that the Adobe PDF printer is selected in the printer screen before you look for the paging and formatting of the file. In most OFFICE programs, if you change the printer the application will reflow the document to best match the printer (called "using printer metrics"). So check before you create the PDF that the layout is correct.

PPro CS6: Effects used on Adjustment Layer not the same as direct on clip

I'm using the PPro CS6 Demo on a Core i7 with 12GB Ram, GTX 580 1,5GB on Windows 7 Ultimate.
Today i applied the gaussian blur filter to some clips to remove the moiré pattern in the downscaled videoclips - as I do it quite often with PPro CS5. It removed the pattern as it's always doing - fine.
Then I remembered the new Adjustment Layer function within CS6 and tried this in the same sequence, with the same clips and the same configured gaussian blur filter. The moiré pattern slightly improved, but the effect wasn't the same as before. It seems that applying this filter on a clip or on an Adjustment Layer isn't the same?
I didn't tested this with other filters, so I can't say if the gaussian blur is the only filter affected.
Anyone has a similiar experience or can explain this?

There is a very common misstatement and misunderstanding of how adjustment layers work, which I'll repeat here: "Applying an effect to an adjustment layer applies the effect to all layers under the adjustment layer."
That's wrong in a subtle but important way.
What actually happens is that applying an effect to an adjustment layer applies the effect to the composited result from all of the layers under the adjustment layer.
This is an important distinction, because it puts the adjustment at a different place in the order of operations in the rendering pipeline.
Anyway, that's a long and perhaps overly theoretical way of saying that, yes, you may see some difference between applying an effect directly to a bunch of clips compared with applying the effect to an adjustment layer over that same bunch of clips.

Great question! What type of email account are you using? Most email providers these days offer IMAP accounts (as opposed to POP). With IMAP, your changes should reflect across your devices (for example: if you read an email on your iPhone, it should be marked as read on your iPad). If the old Macbook(?) has Snow Leopard 10.6 installed, and you have that retail install disc or the system disc of the current (base level) system on it, you could use the installer disc as a boot volume and use the utilities on the booted install disc to reset the password. It should be a menu option in the booted Install disc, way short of any effort to re-install anything. And if your computer can do this, the same DVD has Disk Utility, to check/repair the Mac HDD.
What OS X version do you have, & what MacBook, etc is that?

Transferring playlists
If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.
Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. The import process will remove any items from the playlists that you didn't share via Home Sharing.

Sounds like you opened and saved it in CC, so now you need to go back to CC and either complete the project there, or export to IDML to take it back into CS6.

I'm building a test Lync deployment on Azure; yes, I know this is not supported, hence "test".
Lync Front-End servers expose two set of web services, one for internal users and one for external ones; they listen on different ports (443 and 4443) on the same servers; when external services are published, you need a reverse proxy or a port forwarding
in order to map port 443 of a public IP address to port 4443 of the Front-End server(s). When you have multiple Front-End servers in a pool, you also need to load-balance them.
So, a typical Lync deployment looks like this:

This should be easily replicated in Azure, as it supports both external load balancing and internal load balancing. They are even supported together in the same cloud service, so this configuration should be easy. However, it looks like "should"
is the keyword here.
After creating the external load balanced endpoint (which listens on external port 443 and forwards to port 4443 on the servers), I'm trying to create an internal load balancer and add internal endpoints to is; however, while the ILB can be created successfully,
adding an internal endpoint listening on port 443 and forwarding to port 443 on the servers fails miserably, with an error stating that port 443 is already in use by another endpoint:
Update-AzureVM : BadRequest : Port 443 is already in use by one of the endpoints in this deployment. Ensure that the port numbers are unique across endpoints within a deployment.

The error doesn't even make a lot of sense; the external load balancer listens on a public IP address, while the internal load balancer listens on a private IP address in the internal network; there
shouldn't be any conflict here... however it looks like there is one instead.
Why doesn't this work? Am I doing something wrong, or is Azure networking just being silly as usual again?

The issue that you are facing when creating an endpoint with internal loadbalancer is the limitation of not allowing same ports to be listening under a single cloud service. This reason for this is that there is a limitation of only one private IP (Also
known as the Internal load balanced IP) per cloud service.

This must be due to some kind of degredation of the Ipod. . It is not fixed by IOS resets as others have noted.

Easiest way is to create separate computer logins with all your own info including your own iTunes library.
I recommend each individual not have more than one AppleID because you will have purchases on multiple accounts
You can use more than one AppleID in an iTunes library.
AppleID/iTunes =used for purchases.
