Footer now floating in middle of page and no background color

Hello all,
Been working on this for days with no luck. I hope someone can spot the silly mistake, because I know it has to be something silly but it's driving me round the bend! The page has always been just fine until I recoded part of the body (the four columns with titles, photos, and text) to help with 508 compliance. Since then, the orange footer that was firmly at the bottom has started floating half way up the page and the background orange color has disappeared.
I've gone through my code line by line, marking off each beginning and ending div tag and everything is fine there. Below, is a screenshot of the lower half of the page showing how the footer should look.
Here is a screenshot of how it looks offline right now:
as you can hopefully see, the footer has lost it's orange background and is sitting halfway up the page.
Here is the HTML code:

A repeating background image to 'fake' equal height columns is perfectly ok.
It won't work IF your page is responsive but it isn't so no problem. If it were responsive a better solution would be to take advantage of the css property display: table; and display: table-cell;
In reference to your footer background color not showing I would assume you have floated items within the footer container. If so then you need to clear those floated items which allows the footer container to wrap itself around the floated items inside it.
You would do this by using css - overflow: hidden; - on the parent container which has the floats inside it.

My keyboard moved to middle of page and is split.  How do I get it back to bottom of page?

Press and hold the 'keyboard' key at the bottom right of the keyboard and then select Dock and Merge from the popup.
If the keyboard becomes split at the bottom of the screen, or if you want to join it when it's undocked, then you can join the two halves together by using a finger on each half to drag them together (similarly you can then use two fingers to re-split the keyboard). If you don't want the option of a split keyboard then you can turn it off via Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard 'off'

    Try force closing the app.
Force an app to close: Hold down the On/Off button for a few seconds until a red slider appears,
then hold down the Home button until the app quits.

    Hi,
When system is in a sleep mode or hibernate mode, it will save the data ans settings in memory or hard disk, so I suggest you run a memory check and a harddisk check and see if it can detect any errors.

  • Highlight colors change (invert) on some backgrounds, i can make it back by changing use system colors and or background color, i would like to knoe if there is a setting to stop the change ?

i set my highlight colors to yellow background and black foreground in windows , it uses the same colors in firefox except as i highlight over some colors the foreground and background colors invert yellow on black , if there is a setting (or one can be added) in about:config to make the highlight always stay as yellow back and black foreground ? , im not sure if it is done within firefox though or if it is win xp but itcan be changed inside firefox about:config with browser.display.use_system_colors and/or browser.display.background_color .

that sort of makes sense but when you look at youtube messages , each alternate line is a very pale blue and when highlighted each alternate line the color is switched , this also happens on all web pages with simuler shading (not just pale blue) .
about the purple highlighting , ive never seen that , i have firefox on 2 PCs , a laptop and a notepad and they all use the colors set in win xp for highlight , even when use system colors is set to false , all that happens then is they swap about (invert) agen , i some times have to switch browser background color as well . sorry for being repetetive , im just trying to be clear , i have tried fine tuning BG color but on some pages just 1 single number away from white makes the switch,on other pages you can go nearly all the way to black befor it switches .ive just seen add images , ill send some pics to show what im trying to say .

Is there any way to change these background colors. In ios 6 it was a light gray that wasnt to bad, but now its while and its hard to read and changing to the black background is hard to read to. A nice soft blue would be great.

The best way to get this resolved is to do the following:

The side bars on my Facebook wall is now all in the center of the page. It is not that way when I checked other browsers so apparently this is a Firebox problem

Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider.

  • ADOBE: How to print a table only on uneven pages and a text on the back?

Hi, I am looking for a clear document on how to use pagination and the Odd and Even pages.
We need to print a table over several pages, but the table should only appear on Odd pages. The even pages should be skipped. On the even (back) pages we need to print "Terms and Conditions". Is that possible? Can it be done without scripting?
We are using ADOBE version 8.1
In the file properties, double sided is switched on, and version set to 8.1 and higher.
I created two Master pages, a FrontPage with ContentArea1and a BackPage with ContentArea2.
FrontPage is used for uneven pages, BackPage is used for the even pages. The masterpages are printed correctly (alternating properly).
One page was created for the table, totals etc.:
ITEMS: contains item data (table with header and footer). Place is "On Odd Page". After "Goto page BackPage", so there is always one page with the text. And if the table needs to be paginated it goes to BackPage with overflow leader "Conditions".
What should happen is that on the front pages the item table is printed. If there are too many lines then it should continue on page number 3 then 5 etc. All the even pages should display text only.
What actually happens is that the item table also gets printed in the content area for the Condition text...
The best I could achieve is to decrease the contenta area of the back page. To force pagination. But still it prints one table record in the (very small) content area of the back page before paginating to the next page (front page again). If it only would not do that, it would be fine.
    Cheers,
    Edwin.

Fixed it... After a lot of creating, deleting, playing around with pagination and the inevitable cursing...
    I have created 5 pages:
    1. FirstPage
         - Odd/Even: Odd (Front) Pages
         - Placement: First page (In page set)
    2. FrontPage (For Odd pages)
         - Odd/Even: Odd/Front Pages
         - Placement: Rest of Pages
    3. BackPage (For Even pages)
         - Odd/Even: Even (Back) Pages
         - Placement: Rest of Pages
    4. LastPage
         - Odd/Even: No Odd/Even Restrictions
         - Placement: Last page (In page set)
    5. DummyPage
         - Odd/Even: Blank pages
The 'Terms and conditions' are located on the BackPage and LastPage (as a text).
The table that is printed is (of course) located on a normal page (flowed subform).
Pagination tab: Placement = Following previous, and After = "Continue filling parent". No overflow... Basically, it's all default.
The table lines will now start on the first page and if there are more lines than can be printed on this page, it will continue in the next content area. That will be on the FrontPage.
The trick is that each master page must have a content area (mandatory). Except for Blank pages, but these cannot be used... Blank pages would only be used once, after the first page.
What I discovered is that you can drag a content area away from the Master page and attach it to a different master page.
Logically, if there is no content area on a page, then data cannot be printed there. So, I created a Dummypage. On this page I dumped the content areas from the LastPage and the BackPage. As a result, content cannot be printed anymore on the back of pages. Only the standard text (a text field) is printed there. When the data from the table is overflowing, it will automatically overflow from the FirstPage to the next content area. Which is located on the FrontPages only.
The DummyPage is NOT used anywhere.
The result is that the records can only be printed on the content areas that exist on the First and Front pages. The back pages are now skipped.
Duplex printing is now working correctly, and the text is printed on the back of all the pages.
    Cheers,
    Edwin.

  • Background color and float problems

    Hello all,
I am having a problem with the background color and the left
float for a navigation sidebar (also with the background color for
the footer). The body color is set to gray, and the main page is
centered with a white background. I set up the pages using mostly
CSS, with a few tables where they seemed necessary. I set up the
navigation side bar as a div with a green background and a left
float. The footer is set up as a div with a green background. All
    text is aligned left.
When I preview in Safari, everything looks as expected.
In Firefox and IE5: The background color of the navigation
sidebar has white showing up behind the type that are not links
(e.g., mailing address and subheads). The div does not float all
the way to the left edge of the page. The background color of the
footer should be green but shows up as white. I validated the code
in DW, and it reports no problems (at least, it checked out after I
    made a few corrections).
I am not that concerned about the background color for the
footer -- it is either all there (in Safari) or not there at all
(in Firefox and IE). But I would like to see if I can make it show
up. For the navigation sidebar, would putting it in a table cell
make it work correctly in Firefox and IE?
Regarding the left float issue for the nav sidebar IE5: At
the top of the page, my logo banner (it's placed in a div) shifted
to the right (in IE only). When I added a left float to the banner,
the banner lines up fine with the rest of the page, but a white
margin appears along the left side of the entire page.
None of my pages are uploaded to a web host yet. This is my
first website. I am working in DW8 on a Mac.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kathy (Daylilybud)

    Mista,

  • Version Control of APEX Pages and Shared Components

    Background:
My organisation has a large customer base and over the last 2 years we have migrating from a forms to an apex user presentation layer. We have had a number of customers live on the apex front end for close to a year now.
Our current method of releasing apex objects is at the application level (ie applications are exported for version control in PVCS and then released to Test etc). We now want to investigate exporting pages and shared components individually. Hence, I have a few questions:
    1. If I export a page and this is checked into PVCS and I forget to export a 'List of Values' shared component. What happens when the page in PVCS is created in another environment (ie Test). I guess the ‘Page Import’ would still succeed but the reference to the ‘List of Values’ would be some large made up number.
How would we detect the missing dependency after import ?
    2. Regarding New or Changed Templates. Once again, if a page references a new template and is then exported, checked into PVCS and imported into test but the template is missed for migration to test, would the import succeed but the template reference would be broken, like in number 1.
    3. How can Application level objects be locked (reserved) when undergoing modification.
Any comments would be appreciated especially if there are any sites using pages and shared component exports for version control and releases.
For anyone who's interested, the method we are thinking of using is:
..Page Export script will be version controlled
..ALL the shared component export scripts will be added to 1 main SQL script
Hence we only end up with 2 configurable objects in PVCS.

    Nigel,
    1. If I export a page and this is checked into PVCS and I forget to export a 'List of Values' shared component. What happens when the page in PVCS is created in another environment (ie Test). I guess the ‘Page Import’ would still succeed but the reference to the ‘List of Values’ would be some large made up number.
For component export/import, the source and target worskpace ID and application ID must be identical. You can achieve the workspace "sameness" by exporting and importing the workspace from one database to another, thus preserving the workspace's numeric ID, aka security group ID. Similarly applications must be exported/imported/installed without changing their IDs in the installed-into instance. More fundamentally, the application you import/install components into must be an identical copy of the source application with respect to the internal object IDs, allowing only for differences that incent you to migrate changes from a higher rev level of the application into a copy that is at a lower rev level.
As to the specific question, if you copied a page but didn't copy an LOV into the target application then if the LOV referenced by the page already existed in the target application then page would simply reference the existing, perhaps down-level, LOV in the application. If the LOV did not already exist but had been newly created in the source application, then the target application page would contain an invalid reference and would produce a runtime error.
How would we detect the missing dependency after import ?
I don't know of any reports that would tell you this. There are several types of omissions that you need to watch out for, not all of which can be detected by inspection of the target application in isolation.
    2. Regarding New or Changed Templates. Once again, if a page references a new template and is then exported, checked into PVCS and imported into test but the template is missed for migration to test, would the import succeed but the template reference would be broken, like in number 1.
    Yes, same case.
    3. How can Application level objects be locked (reserved) when undergoing modification.
There is no provision for this as there is for pages.
For anyone who's interested, the method we are thinking of using is:
..Page Export script will be version controlled
..ALL the shared component export scripts will be added to 1 main SQL script
Hence we only end up with 2 configurable objects in PVCS.
So you propose to have one script of all pages and another script for everything else? I'm not sure I got that right.
    Scott
