For this Process is to less disk space f

Hello!
I have a Zen Touch with the new Firmware update!
Now I can switch files smooth to the mp3 player into the folder Data. And when I switch the file again to the Desktop the alarm message: appear. What is the problem? The files are about 700Mb big.
Can You help me please?
Thanks
Harry

Sorry i can't find the bug!
Of course is enough disk space free. The files are .bin, .img, .nrg and so on.
Is it possible, that alle these postfixes wouldn't work? Or probably is it possible that ih make from the file zoom.nrg --> zoom.txt and then I copy it to the media folder on the mp3-player?

When trying to install a digital copy, everything works including the downloading, until it is processing to iTunes then I receive "You do not have enough access privilages for this operation. Check the disk to make sure it is clean and retry." error.
Tryed several times, Same Results. Tryied rebooting, logging out & into iTunes, Same Result. Seems to do this error with every digital copy, but works eventually. But now will not post digital copy to my iTunes at all. Just same error over and over.
    Any Thoughts??

Oddly enough. I think I just solved it. It looks like, for some reason, my computer has about 8 different "iTunes music" folders, and I've been saving my music to the wrong one. Neat. Music now imports and plays as it should. Copying things over is going to be so fun tonight!

I deleted unwanted photos from my iPhoto library, emptied iPhoto trash & Finder trash... this did not free up disk space. please help!
    I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro (Late 2011) with OS X Mavericks 10.9.5
Last week, my 500 GB Harddrive had 120 GB free space. I was feeling crumby and decided to make productive use of taking a day off to lounge around. I snuggled up with my laptop and dedicated hours to meticulously combing through my iPhoto Library. I had 13,000 pictures, and I got rid of those I didn't want. Having said "sayōnara" to about 6,500 pictures, I then emptied the iPhoto trash and the Finder trash. I took delight in the iconic paper crumpling sound of them vanishing into the digital void.
Everything seemed perfect: the photos I loved were still there, the photos I loathed were gone, both trashes were beautifully empty. Having thrown away all of those awful, boring, and unflattering images of poorly light lunches and selfies gone wrong, my iPhoto library was half the size as before! I felt renewed, a little lighter, somehow more free, and I expected my hard drive to be a bit different to.
I eagerly checked my storage stats. My heart sank to see that my 120 GB of free space, was still only 120 GB of free space. I restarted my MacBook; this did not help. I restarted it the next day; this also did not help. It's been 5 days and the hard drive still has 120 GB free space. This is not an emergency and it will probably be a good while before I clutter my laptop to the brim. Yet while I am glad I don't have to see cringeworthy pictures of my ex's unmentionables every time I'm showing off things I do want to remember, I'm still disappointed and now obsessed with solving this mystery.
What is going on? I don't see them, so where are they hiding? How do I get the free space I should have earned from throwing away 1,000's of photos?!

    Thank you, Terence!
Yes, I only emptied the trash when it was really full, once I waited until the trash cans contained 2,600 photos and then I emptied them - Oooops! In the future, I'll keep in mind your suggestion of deleting less than 100 photos at a time.
I downloaded the iPhoto Library Manager and used it to rebuild my iPhoto. After a few hours of rebuilding, it generated a new copy of my iPhoto Library. This versions was nearly identical to the original (it was missing 5 photos and was therefore only 5 mb smaller). I guess my Library wasn't defective.
I checked my storage stats, and interestingly, using iPhoto Library Manager did help with the problem that developed after I re-indexed my hard drive. My hard drive is able to properly recognize data categories again, instead of listing almost everything as "Other". Understandably, my free disk space changed from 120 GB to about 60 GB, because my hard drive now contained a second copy of my iPhoto Library as well as iPhoto Library Manager. It seemed like all I needed to do was throw these away, but when I emptied the trash, my problem was not solved. My Hard drive now looked like this:
It appears to me that when I empty the trash, the things I throw away are just hanging around as backups instead of leaving! I went into System Preferences and turned of my time machine OFF. Now my hard drive looks likes this:
The back ups of the iPhoto files, and the program which I deleted, are still on my hard drive some where but now they are listed as "Other" instead of "Backups". Do you know where they might be and how I can delete them for good?

  • HT3680 Less disk space after then before

I ran this utility and it took up more disk space- now I have less space then when I started.
Now what do I do?  No matter what I remove I gain no extra space.
    Help....

My apologies, the disk utility that comes with Mac OS.
I went to Launch Pad -> Utilities -> Disk Utility and ran the procedure by selecting the Erase tab and pressing the Erase Free Space... button. I choose the default option and let the program finish running. At the end I had less disk space reporting by this Utility then before the Utility ran.
I checked the Activity Monitor to confirm the amount of space free and it agreed with the Disk Utility.
I started the procedure as my Mac was running extremely slowly. It is a MacBook late 2008 model and upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.5, which is as high as I can upgrade. If I try to upgrade further I receive a message that the Mac cannot support the next level upgrade.
I Have a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, with 2GB memory.  When I check About this Mac it agrees with the amount of space available as the other two programs (Disk Utility and Activity Monitor).
The Mac is still running slowly.
I did check the HD with a commandi and this reports 76.72 GB free space.
I know the Mac does a lot of swapping but why hasn't performance improved?
I was thinking of purchasing an additional app or software such as Drive Genius but not sure it will help.
    Any thoughts?

  • HT2613 I'm currently in the restore process, and it seems to take forever. The indicator on my Mac shows a crosshatched bar, but says nothing about % completed. What is a rough timeline for this process?

I'm currently restoring an IPod classic ... 160 GB, which is 5th generation, I believe.
It seems to be taking forever. What is the rough length of time for this process?

Restore a 160GB iPod Classic, should not take more than an hour, if your iPod Hardsik is healthy, and you connect to the USB2.0 port and not to the keyboard USB port. If you are using a Macbook, then only one of the USB port is fast enough for the slow iPod Classic.
However, if you are connecting to the correct USB port, and still having problems Restoring or Syncing, do the iPod Disk Diagnostic, refer to this outstanding post by tt2.
It wont fix your problem, but save a lot of frustration, in troubleshooting.
    Have a nice day!

  • [SOLVED] gdisk reports less disk space than cfdisk

I did a fresh install of Arch today and decided to try partitioning GPT style with gdisk.  I noticed that gdisk reported 10gb less disk space in total than cfdisk (149 vs 160gb respectively).  I haven't been able to find an answer as to why this would be.  Does anyone know?
    Thanks!

Here you can see the difference is around 7 percent in the scale of gigabytes.

Put it into DFU mode - hold the sleep/wake button and home button until the screen goes black (ignoring the slide to turn off slider). When the screen goes black release the sleep/wake button but hold the home button. Continue holding the home button for 10 seconds, then release it. The screen should stay black. Plug it into iTunes and it should come up with this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. It must be restored before use", that's when it is successfully in DFU mode. Now press the restore button in iTunes and it should run smoothly :)

  • Installing SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT on VM (60 GB) Disk Space- Test

    All,
We are on SAP BPC 5.0 Sp10 and we are planning to upgrade SAP BPC 7.0 Microsoft in next year. We have one VM server which has 60 GB Disk. We are wondering that can we install SAP BPC 7.0 on it.
As per SAP installation guide , it is clearly mentioned that we should have 200GB Space to install it. Installation guide talks about real time system since we are building up a test system for a small team which consists of only 6 people.
Any body have installed SAP BPC 7.0 Microsoft this way  or Can any body verify it will installed and work successfully ?
Also share, what is the minimum disk space requirement to install SAP BPC 7.0 Microsoft.
    Thanks,
    Saquib Khan

    SAquib,
Not sure where you are getting the 200 gig requirements, but on the Microsoft install guide, it states less than that.  See section 3 of the install guide (check on your server requirements).  I have attached the link for your convenience.
    https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000552952009E/SAP_BPC_70_SP04_M_Install.pdf
As for minimum, I am not sure any qualified installer will quote you a number without going through all of the requirements..  Typically, they would assess the requirements and then come up with a "recommended" space amount and number of servers.  This would factor into number of users, number of applications/appsets, data volume, page caching, planning or consolidations (or both), etc.
After sitting through a few 7.0 Microsoft installations, I think 60 gigs VM should be more than sufficient to be installed for "testing" purpose.  As stated above, some folks have been use single server 20 gig vm partition for their "sandbox".  Keep in mind that the performance will be a little bit slower than install on actual server so any bench mark that you're trying to assess may be a little bit off.  In addition, when upgrading from 5.1 to 7.0M make sure to add the property "ISBEGINNING" with value of 10 to the Time Dimension.
As for deciding whether to go with NW or MS, I think the deciding factor would be data volume, and number dimensions that you would need to maintain on your appset, and desire to have integration with SAP components.

  • Bootcamp shows less disk space available

Hi guys, I am new to Mac and bootcamp, so pls help me to explain the following issue. Tks alot.
    1. http://i992.photobucket.com/albums/af50/nadung_photo/BootCamp%20errors/Screensho t2010-07-27at101043AM.png
you see that my hard disk had 500 GB with ~463G available
    2. http://i992.photobucket.com/albums/af50/nadung_photo/BootCamp%20errors/Screensho t2010-07-27at100923AM.png
But in this pic, bootcamp seems to recognize less total disk space (around 35GB missing)
    3. http://i992.photobucket.com/albums/af50/nadung_photo/BootCamp%20errors/Screensho t2010-07-27at61107PM.png
Even Inventory X recognize almost similar with Bootcamp (35GB go to somewhere)
I run as root user, did check the Disk Utility from installation disk (booted by CD) to have the same result - it shows I have full 500GB
My question is: what's wrong with the bootcamp? or it only recognize max 465GB only?
I am hesitate to install the win yet afraid that more GB will be missing. pls help me explain the reason.
    Many thanks.

    Hi nadung,
The OSX Disk Utility shows your 500GB harddisk with 499,93GB -> correct.
The BootCamp Assistant showing 460GB (rounded down) might be due to the 'awaited use of Windows'...
Why Disk Inventory X is showing the 'wrong' size, I don't know. Might be a question for the developer of it.
The 'loss' of 35GB is about 7% of the full 500GB of the harddisk.
If you have a look at the comparison chart in here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte that is nearly exact the amount to be expected.
Fact is there is no real-life loss since not only the harddisk size is lower in Windows than in OSX but the size of the files and folders is lower by the same rate.
So nothings lost and nothings gained. Just one more confusion...

  • How to migrate from my old MacBook Pro to a new one with less disk space and an external hard drive?

I have just bought a new MacBook Pro and an external hard drive.
Yet I have problems migrating data from my old MacBook Pro (more internal disk space with around 500 GB data) to my new one (internal disk space less than 500 GB).
I have connected all 3 devices but it seems the Migration Assistant does not have an option for us to select to migrate to an external hard drive.
Any other way to do it?
    Kindly help me.  Thanks.

  • How to set the limit for the warning 'running out of disk space'

I am wondering if there's a way to set the number of GB before I get the system warning 'running out of disk space'.
I saw this question asked in 2010 and it did not get an answer. It was archived so I am asking again. I know how to monitor the available space on my startup disk, and how to empty the trash to clear up disk space. I am looking for an OS X setting that I can change.

My guess is that you want to lower the limit. IMHO I think the limit is alreay too low.
If you are seeing this warning regularly then your disk is severely overfull and needs to be replaced with a larger one.
Running the free space low eenough to get the warning greatly increases the chances for disk corruption. Once the disk gets corrupted then then next thing that happens is data lose.
You have a serious problem with your Mac that should be dealt with immediately.
Backing your data up would also be a good idea if you are not already doing that.

  • Windows 8: Is it normal for system processes to allocate large address spaces?

I have noticed in Windows 8 that the system processes, such as services.exe, svchost.exe, winlogon.exe, etc, tend to accumulate large address spaces. See attached picture. Is this normal? I generally look for this kind of behavior to detect memory leaks,
but it doesn't seem like a leaking issue.  The virtual size goes to just under 2GB and then stays there. This is on 64-bit systems.

    Hi Henri,
that seems to be an artifact of Control Flow Guard feature of Windows 8.1 Update 3 and Windows 10.

  • Time for Secure Empty Trash and Free Disk Space

    Hi Forum,
Can anyone give me a guesstimate of how long secure empty trash would take or can take? I have 290 items and its been there for about an hour.
Also, if I choose to free disk space, how long approximately would this take? Is it worth doing this? I have 40gb "free" now.
    Thanks.
    S

it's not necessarily the number of files, but more the total size of all the files combined. But lets just say it dose take a while to do. you really only need to use secure empty trash on files of a sensitive nature. Such as financial information (credit card numbers, back information, social security numbers)
Also by spending all that time writing to the hard drive, over and over. Witch is what secure empty trash dose. your reducing the life span of your hard drive. Like car tires your hard drive is only good for so many miles.
I ones secure emptied trash on a GB worth of data. I remember it takings hours. I ones tried scrubbing a whole hard drive, after two days I stopped it because I didn't realize it was going to take so long. That being said it doesn't take too long to scrub a few files that are a few MB in size.
